Had a brief but AWESOME coffee with Dino Cazares of Fear Factory...
new segment tea with ola?
So badass, right on Ola🤘🤘
That man knows his stuff 🤘
The master of tremolo picking!
Yea DINO and OLA Awesome
Fun fact: I was at the Mayones booth at NAMM, and Dino came over and started pointing out the Duvell to me and told me to look at the contours and carves on the back, etc.
HE came up to ME and started yapping about it. He was just so psyched about the damn guitar and had to talk to someone about it. I'm nobody, so he had no reason to do so otherwise.
Dino is just a cool fucking dude.
wow
You're not nobody my friend. We are all human. As is he.
I can only like this comment once :(
😳 wow! I'm jealous.
@@joedavies6364 EXACTLY
Dino's picking got me into more extreme playing... his right hand is a machine.
Dinos riffs are a great workout
And then he played here for 5 sec without a pick... Like a God
Dino's pimp hand got me into turning up on time
LOCKING IN WITH THOSE KICKS GOT ME SHACKELED IN FOR SHERRR!
DUDES A CHUNK RIFF BEAST!
Right
I honestly think Fear Factory are underrated for their influence. Everyone acknowledges Meshuggah for Destroy, Erase, Improve. But Demanufacture was an equally incredible record and just as Pioneering. True Legends of Metal.
Probably the best coffee with Ola without coffee!
Dino is a guitar God and down to earth too! Thank you Ola and Louise for this interview 💙💙💙💙
Soo goddamm influencial👈
Sure your not just a Dino superfan
"Edge Crusher" lol
jason waycott no what what makes you think that? *adjusts fear factory 🧢 merch*

What ? It was a short nervous conversation cut short because there was no chemistry & flow
Dino is still (imho) the most original metal guitarist on the scene today. His playing is brutal and his tone is very unique. Plus I love is songwriting.
Dino was djenting before djent was even a thing. He doesn't get enough recognition for his contributions to metal.
I met Dino 5 years ago and we spoke about gits, amps, sounds and he was such a nice and inspiring guy ... then i saw a superawesome FF show ... one of the best days in my life! ❤️
Bolton, I remember that band!! They had a long time rivalry with neckthru.
U deserved that thumbs up.
ask Dino about his band Violent Breed out of Brawley, Ca.
Wow! Dad joke lol
Good one!
Bolton has had a lot of members replaced over the years, but when Necktru broke up it was for good.
This guy who used to print t-shirts for my band is close friends with Dino and Burt from wayyyyy back in the day. He had FF over for a bbq years ago and invited a bunch of us to come hang. Seriously the best dudes.
Steve Vai, Korn, and Fear Factory, all changed the metal landscape forever in their own ways due to their individually unique uses of the 7-string guitar. That just shows you how versatile a 7-string genuinely is.
Deftones with the 8 string
The elevator music in the background is priceless...
yes, but does it chug?
@@Boomtrooper It's just a matter of gain
Holy shit, that Aztec sun painting is absolutely gorgeous.
Dude! Foreal, it's crazy awesome. An Aztec "Axe" 😂.
Funny thing is Dino Isn’t even Aztec 🤷🏻♂️
Obsolete is such an underrated album.
Met Dino multiple times when Divine Heresy toured. At one of the Dallas shows, I brought him and the guys burritos from Chipotle and they pulled me on stage to do the opening vocal line for "Failed Creation". Great stuff. I think there's a UA-cam video of that somewhere.
Fear Factory and Nevermore were the reasons I got my first 7-string back in the day
I love Fear Factory but I just can't get in 7 string and I've been playing for 43 years
@@prs149, that is the problem, stuck with the past. I have been playing for 30-years and picked up a ibanez S8-string 2-years ago and i am stuck with it now. I now have problem playing a 6-string!
Funny how these 2 bands go hand in hand with early 7 string adopters. Loomis and Cazares.
Mustaine told Loomis he was too young. He then joined NEVERMORE
@@chrisberg2083 Technically Sanctuary at the time still.
We need Fear Factory back !!!
Unfortunatly it is not gonna happen soon, they can't sustain a tour and crew at the moment. Most of the money they would make would be going to paying off the court ruling for 900k of damages owned to former members.
@Mi Movil they're actually writing new music. Look at dinos instagram
I'd be good with just Dino and Raymond and who ever wants to pickup the Mic. They were the magic of the band.
last time I saw them they had Tony Campos playing bass and it was sick as hell.
We have now :P Agression Continuum amazing
The man is a legend. To this day, Demanufacture is still one of my favorite albums of all time, and probably the one that really got me into metal.
More evidence of Metallers being the nicest people
They're just people.
@@Descalabro Haha. I've met super nice people and many assholes in my time. Didn't quite seem to be a reflection of the type of music they listened to.
@@J155P This is true. Nice people, jerks, good people and bad people in all aspects of life regardless of music, religion, politics, financial or social status. People are just that, people.
Dino is a cool guy and a good representative for Metallers.
"Metallers"? What? 😂
It's Metal Heads, no???
Also, nice people are nice people and cunts are cunts. . .simple. Doesn't matter their preference in music.
Coffee with Ola is so great! Can't wait for "Beer with Ola" and "Hungover with Ola."

Damn, Ola, you didn't let him to end his speech and I couldn't sleep well for the rest of my life not knowing what've he wanted to say!!
The guitar on the right is the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen in my 58 years. Fucking gorgeous and I want to steal it! MY PRECIOUS!!!! Both metal AND Hippie at once. Acid Metal. My type of metal. Lombardo era Slayer, Kyuss, Early Sabbath, Hendrix, Santana, '69 to '73 Led Zeppelin, The Doors, '68 to '71 era Grateful Dead, early Opeth or Death.
Yeah it is beautiful. Over the top without being too much... Kind of...
@@hakancarlsson2881 Exactly. Also because everything else is simple plain wood it creates the balance and contains the color explosion. I like acid metal best, both structure and intensity from metal and wild emotional improvisation, needing a lot of practice to get right. Learning to play and know the song is just the start at getting it going.. On their best nights truly great bands wlll blow away even great originals. See Led Zep's 'Dazed and Confused', Slayers' 'Still Reigning' with extras, The Who's 'Live at Leeds', Hendrix's 'Machine Gun', 'Dark Star' and the rest from 'Live Dead' etc. Psychedelia can be the worst as well as the best. Just like Metal. Or anything else actually! God kväll!
I've met Dino a couple times over the years. And he's such a sweetheart of a human. No ego, just salt of the earth human. Especially for the amount of years in the business
no ego? pffffffffff
Dino and Dimebag are the reasons I play the guitar. Great coffee Ola!!
Best coffee with Ola hands down
Dino! What a legend. My first metal show was Fear Factory...that shit was twenty years ago. Crazy to think about. A new, unheard of band opened up for them.
That band? System of a Down.
Far out dude! Crazy
First of all appreciate you ola for bringing the man the myth the legend know as dino 🦕
Fear Factory was a huge influence on me in my early teens in the early 2000's. Loved covering their songs with my band.
Crazy where Ormsby is at. Still remember him running guitar building classes, wish I had signed up when I had the chance.
guitar building courses are still on, check the site, you can build a multiscale now too
I vaguely remember him posting builds on forums back in the day. Dude deserves every ounce of success.
I live near him and have thought about doing his course too. Is it worth it for the cost though?
@Virgil Grin Ormsby already is a huge "name"....
Self-Righteous Asshole I did a build course with Perry about 4 years ago,I thought it was worth every cent I paid. I have a guitar which I rate highly and learnt how to build from scratch. Awesome fella and team imo .
OBSOLETE! One of my fave albums ever.
I've been a huge Fear Factory fan for well over 25 years, and Dino is by far one of my favorite riff writers and guitarists. Underrated.
Much love Ola...thank you for that. You just put a 40 years old guy in tears. No words to describe what this mean to me. Thank you brother, and god bless you and family. Much love from São Paulo - Brasil.
Dino is one of the nicest dudes in metal. I met him on the Megacruise, he was there as a fan, and took the time to give me a hug and an autograph. I am a fan for life.
YEAAAAAAAAAAA WHAT WILL BECOME, WHAT WILL IT BE, WHEN WE CAN SEE OUR ETERNITY. dIGIMORTAL my favorite album.
DON'T KNOW HOW I GOT HERE
BUT I WISH THAT I WAS DEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAD
Demanufacture/soul of a new/obsolete. Digimortal is my least favourite
obsolete and mechanize is best
Linchpin is great
I met Dino back in the mid 90s. Such a nice, laid back, down to earth, talented dude.
I love Fear Factory, this is awesome thanks man
WOW! Dino seems to be a down to earth guy! Awesome! "Demanufacture" changed my life back in the day!
Favorite coffee with Ola so far. so much covered in a short period of time. Love Dino.
I met Dino in 98’ or 99’ when Fear Factory was opening for Slayer. He was a super nice guy back then, and he hasn’t changed one bit. Fear Factory was one of the tightest bands I’ve ever seen. Wish Dino and the boys all the best.
I met Dino in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Divine Heresy's first tour. Super open to questions about how he practices, gear, etc. and was just an awesome guy not just to me but ALL of his fans that wanted to talk to him.
Coffee with Peter Tagtgren of Hypocrisy! Thanks Ola!
Fck yes!!!!

Hell yeah brother ! New album this year I believe, saw them in April last year here in the states. One of my all-time favorite death metal bands.
I'm trying to see them in Wacken this year because they are headlining, but those damn tickets are sold out as ususal. It would be a dream come true.
@@jaffarshah5024 mine too!! Peter posted on his officials FB pages about the new Hypocrisy record coming out this year, can't fvckn wait. Maybe will be difficult to get him on the show in the short term since his on tour with Lindermann. Peter´s a busy guy, but hope it happens at some point. Cheers brother lml
Great interview with the legend himself! He's such a friendly and down-to-earth guy. I really hope they get their legal troubles sorted, I'm so looking forward to a new Fear Factory album. One of my absolute favourites.
Dino, one of my biggest inspirations for playing heavy riffs. He’s a master!
This was my first Coffee, and I loved it. Thank you for bringing Dino on. Ola, always, the best, Dino, the legend.
1st met Dino in August 1991 on Hollywood Blvd where he used to work ; we're still in contact after all those years ; nice guy

"It's just a matter of gain" - Every "Will it chug" episode summarized in one sentence =) Great interview!
This is one I think a lot of us have been waiting for. Awesome
The interview was unusually short. Would've loved to hear more from Dino.
They were at NAMM, everyone was super busy (I'm assuming from watching all of Ola's NAMM vids plus other youtubers). That being said, I was also hoping to hear more from Dina about Fear Factory stuff.
I love Fear Factory!🤘

Man, 2 of my favourite guitarists in 1 room! Thanks ola.
Met Dino briefly before a Fear Factory show back in like 1999. They were setting up but he took a minute to say hi to us and gave everyone a hug. Real sweet guy.
Great show Ola.Great to meet Dino and get some cool history.
Dino is a fucking LEGEND!! So awesome you got to interview him.
I've added your name to the guest list back in August 2016 when Fear Factory played in Stockholm. That's where you met Dino!
Met Dino at NAMM and got a pic with that guitar. Seriously coolest dude ever!
Great interview! Dino is a HUGE influence and I remember being a teenager and getting an Obsolete CD for my birthday.
I think I listened to that album more than a thousand times.
Absolute Legend!
And such a nice guy. Considering how many players today were inspired by FF, he's still so humble and so dedicated to his music.
Well done Ola! One of your best interviews yet. 🙏
F*ck Yeah! Dino is from my favorite band since Carmageddon. I hope the new Album comes finally out. Problems with rights and label :(
Dino is one of the greats, love that guy.
This is what i love about coffee with Ola, you discover these really cool people who you may not have heard of
I started playing guitar at ten in 93. Same year I picked up on Fear Factory. The rest is history. Still play loud and heavy till this day! Dino inspired!!!
Dino just released his signature overdrive pedal. Would love to see your take on it Ola!
Dino seems like the nicest dude ever. His Riffing is legendary!
Dino. What a really gentle soul. Love him to bits since met them in the mid 90s. He knows his shit and lives his love of playing
Dino is a live legend, his custom guitar (especially the mayan calendar) is fucking awesome
So, Dave Mustaine is responsible for the success of Dino Cazares too.
Oh boy.
Luís Pedro amazing how much one man can have on an effect on someone or something. 🤘🏼
I will now count to 3 and then I am still the unprettiest content creator genius / icon / legend of all time. 1...2...3. Thank you for your attention, dear ola
They don't call him the godfather of thrash for nothing.
Dave Mustaine Is a God, he single handily influenced and taught many people in the metal world
Much respect!
@Panthera Metal gotta say, i took much more inspiration from Megadeth than any other 80´s/ 90´s Thrash band. Even though Metallica was a must-listen back then, they never stroke me as particularily inspiring... some "Metal-Basics" aside...
Nice... I’ll grab a cup of coffee and watch 👍🏼
Congrats Ola. You have in your presence a living legend.
Dino's a cool guy. I saw Fear Factory live at a small local music fest around 20 years ago and him and the singer signed my Fear Factory hat, which I still have somewhere. Also saw Divine Heresy Something like 10 years ago, and they were super good live. They were supporting Shadows Fall I believe. Also, ended up running into Dino that that show as well and he was just as chill and cool as he is here. Took the time to talk to me and my drunk buddy for a bit after the show.
I love Dino he is one of the main reasons I play the way I do 🤘
Coffee with Jari or Teemu when???
Dino is such nice dude! I had the pleasure of hanging out with him twice. Once in 1996 with Pantera and again in 2015 when my band opened for FF! HAIL DINO!
Met Dino at a Fear Factory show in '98. He was just hanging out by himself in the crowd at one point after their set and I happened to notice him as I walked by. Nice guy & very influential, original style.
Dino is so chill, this coffee with Ola made me really happy :)
Dino and Fear Factory got me into metal. Use to listen to Digimortal on my boombox CD player!
The MerV Love Digimortal, I don’t get why a lot of people hate it.
@@Divine_Serpent_Geh It's so solid. So good. But, that being said, it's not their best work. The production was questionable, heavyness toned down, vocals occasionally sub par, and some tracks seemed like filler. The album at it's best is futuristic blade runner-esque bliss, filled with mechanical leads and rythms, all memorable, and soaring choruses. At it's worst, it's an obscure, filler and less heavy failure.
Unlike it's previous 2 masterpieces, Digimortal is much less heavy, deep, or substancial.
Demanufacture Yup. It’s definitely not as heavy as something like “Soul of the Machine”, or even “Obsolete” but there are good songs on there. “Digimortal” and “Damaged” are pretty fucking heavy.
I really like the closing track “Memory Imprint (Never End)”. I’d go as far as saying it’s ambient, and it gives the album a sort of “fading away” feel.
Nicest dude ever. Thanks Ola.
Omg the nostalgia right now is beyond words!!!! Thank you Ola!!!!!!
I was waiting to hear some riffs..
I know I think dino subtly asked for a pick when he said he doesn't have a pick... haha oh well awesome episode anyway

Met Dino back on the Demanufacture tour in 1995 - 25 years ago! Awesome guitar player, thanks Ola!
Wish FF would resolve their differences and get back to it...
Everyone except Burton is completely willing
@@mnemic9564 it is not the case at all, FF is halted because Christian and Raymond are suing Burton. Burton said a few years back that him and Dino finished a new Fear Factory album but the legal shit is holding them back.
@@Davier9999 Yes, they're suing Burton. They have no issue with Dino. The 3 would all like to get the machine back in motion but burton keeps causing issues, it seems. Breaks my heart.
@Demanufacture: it’s not that simple. Burton filed for bankruptcy that why they are suing him and not Dino. Now Christian and Raymond are trying to force the companies the endorsed Burton & Dino to pay them directly. That why, as Dino mentioned, him and Ibanez parted ways. No way in hell Ibanez is going to let themselves get sucked in a lawsuit they have nothing to do with. Burton is the victim in this situation. Dino is kind of on the sidelines waiting it out. Christian & Raymond are being bullies.
What exactly happened after Transgression? Burton and Dino obviously had a reconciliation, if there wasn't much animosity between Dino, Christian and Raymond I don't know why the band didn't just reunite.
This far is the best coffee with Ola. Ever.
