@@eduardoramos6965 but it's not sporty if it's slow. To be a sport model you need good driving dynamics. I doesn't need to be fast but it needs to be quick. Anything over 7.5 seconds is turtle slow for a sport car. In 2000 my dad had a grand Prix GT four door that did 0-60 in 7 seconds.

@turbobenx did I say sports car? It's supposed to be a sport model. SE and XSE are sport models. Is a Elantra sport or a civic sport a sports car? No. It's a sporty compact sedan.
Erik c....So true.I liked the styling and everything looks good, but that screen kills it!Why are these even legal?Don't they create a blind spot, especially for short drivers like me?
I use and still ride my Corolla from 2001. I have 200k mileage on it. I was thinking using a new one either a Corolla, Lexus is260, hybird Accord or Toyota, or a wrx still.
Kids listen... you always want to apply the parking brake first then release to let the cars weight pull against the parking ( emergency ) brake then put the car in park ! Especially on a hill, that way your cars weight is being held by the brakes and not the transmission! And when you’re ready to go just put the car in drive and you won’t hear the big clunk noise then release your parking brake and you’re good to go! Do not put the e brake on and then put it in park! Did you get all that?
CVT has less component - cheaper to manufacture I believe. They'll say it's lighter and smoother and it is but cheap is key. I like the idea of CVT but I don't think it has as much "give" as a planetary gear automatic. I learned to love driving manual though as if I engage and disengage the clutch right it would be as smooth anyway. I like the electric CVT as the slip is made through contactless parts but if it gets a problem I wouldn't be so willing to take on it.
If you are a Corolla fan you will like the new direction styling wise. Its a go for me with the manual trans. The only thing I am not a fan of is the iPad dash thingy. I would much rather have a double din radio so I can upgrade to something even nicer if I want to down the road. With this dash-mounted ipad, you are stuck with that ugly nonsense for as long as you own the car.
@Gabriel hernandez Its a pretty basic model. I saw one that was mid-range and it had push button start, a different instrument cluster, mostly digital, dual zone AC, etc.
Are you also impressed with the hybrid version accelerating from 0 to 60 in 10.5 seconds. The Hyundai Ioniq does that in 8 seconds. This is very slow. I think your analysis would be better if you were a little more critical. It makes me feel that you are getting some remuneration from Toyota.
It bothers me how on the cheaper end, manufacturers just shove a giant, square screen in the middle of the dash; I may as well just put my phone there, like just give me a traditional stereo if you're not gonna bother trying to make it look alright. I haven't looked, but I bet you on the base model Lexus they made a custom designed and molded dash for it.
I suppose car manufacturers do not know what is best for their customers. Why even use direct injection at all when it is so complicated and expensive to maintain? They should stick a carburetor with a manual transmission into every new car along with manual window, no navi, and no catalytic converter, you know, simple and cheap to maintain.
Chris Huber No it is not. There is only one thing a manual is great at, performance for old timers like you and I. This car is not a performance or entusiast centric car.
@@doubl33Ace it's not all about performance, a manual transmission will always be more reliable , not only that but most manuals can also be more fun to drive, I have nothing against automatics if it's a traditional 4 , 5 or 6 speed auto, the problem is most manufacturers are going with cvt now to try to improve fuel economy but cvts have a reputation of always breaking down early. So the trade off you get worse reliability on the transmission , There are major issues known especially with Nissan, honda, Subaru and ford where some transmissions are breaking down before 100k miles. Toyota is now jumping in on the cvt bandwagon so we shall see how they fair.

With the 6 speed manual it's still 7.7 0-60.....for a car that's supposed to be a little sporty.....it's abysmal
well there are some cool sporty cars that arent fast and still acomplish giving that fast and fun feeling
@@eduardoramos6965 for example the Mazda 3 GL 2.0 6 speed manual which is the lowest and cheapest car still gets 7.3 0-60....….the sport model is 6.5 seconds which is competitive for a sport model. The civic sport is 6.7 seconds, the Sentra SR turbo is 6.4 seconds, the golf 1.8t is 6.5 seconds, the Elantra sport is 6.0 Seconds, the Toyota 86 is 6.2 seconds but it's a lot more money than any of the other cars unless you get the civic sport with the auto it's over 30 grand Canadian.
@turbobenx did I say sports car? It's supposed to be a sport model. SE and XSE are sport models. Is a Elantra sport or a civic sport a sports car? No. It's a sporty compact sedan.
They can say sporty all they want, but this car is a slow piece of shit economy car. Reliable, yes. But fucking turtle slow.
That screen looks so big and exaggerated. It looks cheap n ugly.
This is the reason I will buy a Civic. I would seriously consider this Corolla (manual transmission only).
Erik c....So true.I liked the styling and everything looks good, but that screen kills it!Why are these even legal?Don't they create a blind spot, especially for short drivers like me?
Can you get this car without the big screen tv on the small dashboard?
Wow, i've never been so impressed by a freakin corrola.. i mean if i were a corolla saleman, i'd rather be fucking dogs..
I use and still ride my Corolla from 2001. I have 200k mileage on it. I was thinking using a new one either a Corolla, Lexus is260, hybird Accord or Toyota, or a wrx still.
Armani Nguon get a wrx or something German spend a little more and get a rs5
Get rid of CVT and get regular automatic.
BINGO!
CVT = NO SALE
Have a 2018 Camry and hate the CVT, jerky ride not fun to drive.
Randal Bystry Camry doesn’t have a cvt ..
@@Randy58-zn4ez ur problem is 8gear
@@chadjohnsondash hahahaha
Out of this entire video the puddle was the best thing you filmed
Do they have the ones with red seats 😊
I think only the 2018-2020 camry xse come with red seats
The new Corolla is shorter but wider. It looks good in white and white cars usually look like boring rental cars. They don't have Android Auto dude.
You buy a Corolla for reliability.
Not sporty looks and more expensive to replace low pro tires.
Just because it looks good doesn't mean it'll break down in a month
now more aggressive and sporty
Kids listen... you always want to apply the parking brake first then release to let the cars weight pull against the parking ( emergency ) brake then put the car in park ! Especially on a hill, that way your cars weight is being held by the brakes and not the transmission! And when you’re ready to go just put the car in drive and you won’t hear the big clunk noise then release your parking brake and you’re good to go! Do not put the e brake on and then put it in park! Did you get all that?
Enormous improvment for this 4 Banger, go Toyota for the economy vehicle. Very fuel efficient I am sure.
yes, six speed manual with auto rev-matching. :D
Why is toyota and honda following on the nissans path, with cvt transmission.
I guess I will keep my 2007 honda crv for a long time.
Denis Reyes jealous fuck
S Furm ?
Everyones going to CVTs
CVT has less component - cheaper to manufacture I believe. They'll say it's lighter and smoother and it is but cheap is key. I like the idea of CVT but I don't think it has as much "give" as a planetary gear automatic. I learned to love driving manual though as if I engage and disengage the clutch right it would be as smooth anyway. I like the electric CVT as the slip is made through contactless parts but if it gets a problem I wouldn't be so willing to take on it.
OEM but with a Electronic Gear...... Holy fucked....
Pls do a test drive with this particular trim. Thanks
Is that the one with inferior CVT transmission?
Great review!
The gauges are so old, Honda is way ahead.
Well this is a very very unbiased review. Seems legit.
Lost me at just insert the key. It's a 2020 model. It should've had push to start. Great video nonetheless.
@Gabriel hernandez Its a pretty basic model. I saw one that was mid-range and it had push button start, a different instrument cluster, mostly digital, dual zone AC, etc.
@Gabriel hernandez I meant "push button start" should be a standard feature since it's a 2020 model.
I have the Corolla Hatchback. I like that Push to Start is standard.
Gabriel hernandez my mother’s 2013 base model dodge journey has push button start. i agree, it should be standard on all trim levels.
Wow people is getting so spoiled.... it seems like putting a key on the ignition is too much work now
Toyota made a car to appeal to everyone is what I got from this video
Same old boring stuff and still such a BORING car.
Nothing is new or innovative compared to previous Toyota models.
Cvt transmissions suck, they wont last and cant be rebuilt. I will never buy a cvt. Hopefully they keep making a manual.
@@doubl33Ace manuals are way better than CVT buddy. Either that or normal automatics.
T makabu lol
Chris Huber
No it is not.
I can't wait to ride in one of these bad boys next time I order an uber..
I thought this car had push to start? Is that only if you upgrade to a better model?
Im ready to get a new corolla and a 86

Are you sure sure it has Android auto I heard multiple times that is the only 2020 Toyota model that only have that has Apple play with Alexa know Android auto..!?!?!?
