Corolla Hybrid now offers the option of all-wheel drive, but this is AWD with a big advantage. Instead of transfer gears and a driveshaft to the rear wheels, Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive employs a separate rear-mounted electric motor to power the rear wheels when needed.
The system works seamlessly and transparently, preemptively distributing driving force to the rear wheels to help suppress front wheel slip during off-the-line starts. It also engages the rear motor in response to slippage at the front wheels and enhances cornering agility by helping to reduce understeer. The driver can view torque distribution on the Multi-information Display and audio system screen.
The 2023 Corolla Hybrids also offer enhanced brake control, while the SE grades (FWD and AWD) inherit the firmer-feel Electronic Power Steering from the Corolla Apex Edition performance model.
There’s more power, there’s more traction, with Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD), as used in other Toyota Hybrids. And there are more model choices, with the Corolla Hybrid LE FWD gaining four new siblings: the LE AWD grade, sporty SE and SE AWD grades and a premium-focused XLE grade.
All 2023 Corolla Hybrid models gain a more powerful Toyota Hybrid System. As before, the system pairs a 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gas engine with two motor-generators through a planetary-type continuously variable transmission.
A compact high-output/low-loss drive motor has been newly developed for the transaxle/motor, which includes a redesigned magnet and electromagnetic steel plate configuration with two additional magnets for increased output.
The new hybrid system also includes a newly developed lithium-ion battery that’s now located under the rear seat to lower the center of gravity and maximize trunk cargo capacity.
On 2023 Corolla Sedans, new front fascia styling varies across grades, and all receive LED daytime driving lights (DRL), with the SE, XSE and XLE grades also featuring redesigned LED headlights. The LE adds an updated rear bumper design, while the sporty SE and XSE get an all-new rear sport diffuser and feature new 18-inch Gloss Graphite-colored alloy wheels.

I drove the Corrolla Se, and i loved it. The XSE is too much money for me.
Europe gets a much nicer Corolla than we get in the states. We don't have the huge screen of the fully digital gauge cluster, we only get an 8-Inch digital gauge cluster and a 9-inch infotainment, but I guess the Corolla would be a different class of vehicle in the Europe than in the states
You get a way better engine choice.
But you can get the TRD we can't.
yeah it's because, to my understanding, in the US it is consider a cheap practical car so they need to sell it at a low price. here in Europe people wouldn't buy a corolla if that's what they're looking for, so it makes more sense to sell a better equipped version
Man if you are American buy camry v6 maybe it will be used for this price but still way better then corolla.
If you see the Corolla sold in Brazil, you would be outraged. Not just the corolla, all cars sold here are inferior to the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.

I am considering Toyota Corolla because they've been the pioneers of the hybrid system, but at the same time, I'm scared that the Corolla is too small for me. I am 6 feet 2(189cm). What do you say?

Did you noticed any improvement on the lane assist ? I drove a 2020 camry and it was not efficient. I tested the 2022 bmw 2 sportstourer and the 2022 id4 . Much better than 2020 Toyota and Honda. 2022 ioniq is between the 2 for me.

I love this car, but due to parking space restrictions I got a KIA Stonic instead, 3 years ago. By the time it gets old the kids will be adults and therefore I will probably never need the Corolla. Oh, well. Perhaps my son buys it one day! Great great video and car, thank you.

That's while the combustion engine is ON. A 79% of the trip was on EV mode.

@@sic22l An average but when the engine is ON, represents 21 % of the trip and the engine was using petrol but the rest of the time, 79%, was in EV mode(0L/100kmh) if the trip was 1h, around 40-45min was on electric and only 15mins was using the petrol engine with a 6l/100 consuption.
@@Technojorch Consumption is calculated based on distance not time. Total distance wether engine was on or off.
That means if you did 100km with an average consumption of 6l/100km and 50% of distance on electricity, for the other 50% (or 50km) the engine was using 12l/100km.
50km on electricity and 50km on gas at 12l/100km means 100km with an average consumption of 6l/100km.
And if the cars shows time in EV mode instead of distance that information is useless.

Só no Brasil, a decepção: Ausência do freio eletrônico de estacionamento. Continuam insistindo no freio de mão em um carro de 200 mil reais. Na versão XEi até concordo manter, mas no Altis é brincadeira. Creio que quem gosta de freio de mão de "puxar" não pensa em comprar um Altis. A gosto pra tudo né? Tem até aquele que gosta do cheirinho da gasolina. Quem sabe a próxima geração do Corolla volta o carburador.

Evet çok saygılı. İki defa garantiden servise giden kamera değişmedi ve tamir edilmedi. İki ay kamera ve ekran olmadan gezdik. Şuan kamera çalışmıyor ve garantisi de bitti. Toyota her yere yazmama rağmen ne çözüm ne de cevap verdi. Dışarıdan yaptıracağım kamerayı. Çünkü serviste yaptırmanın anlamı yok bozulunca garantiden ne değişim ne de tamir yapıyorlar. Çok saygılılar. Muhteşem.
