Their books are hotly debated and criticized as poorly written with 2-dimensional stereotype characters and nonsensical plots. Their villains were comical, and even George Lucas can write better dialog than these two idiots. Many Dune fans reject these books as part of Dune cannon.
I agree the books of Frank Herbert were and are the only true images of Dune and its universe. The rest is a poor reproduction that never rises to the master. I have read all. In the end the works of Brian Herbert come off as financially producing works that debase his fathers works. My opinion of course.
