Goofy & Max’s father & son relationship has always been one of the best I’ve seen in fiction, cause they’re both at fault when it comes to the problems they face when dealing with each other! Max takes his father for granted, and doesn’t recognize how lucky he is to have a father who loves him so much that he would do anything for him. Sure there is mutual love, but he doesn’t give him enough respect (which is something Pete recognizes). With Goofy, he is too attached to his son that he doesn’t want to accept that he’s growing up or respect that he needs personal boundaries in order for him to self-discover. This is what creates that degree of resentment Max can have of him at times

Hands down, unironically, one of the best Disney movies ever put to the big screen! A singler father and his teenage son learning to effectively communicate and respect each other's differences. Both are making mistakes out of fear. Max for his fear of losing his newly attained status and potential romantic love interest, and Goofy for fear of growing apart from his son and watching him mature in a way where he won't need his father anymore. Initially, we think Goofy is afraid of Max becoming a criminal, but that anxiety being instilled in him by external sources was only the catalyst that made him make the rash decision to do the road trip without talking to Max. Goofy just wants to make sure that he and his son will continue to be a part of each other's lives. Moonwalk aside, Powerline was primarily based on Prince and Bobby Brown, the latter of which the animators studied closely when creating his dance moves.
Fcking CLASSIC! One of my top 3 favorite Disney movies ever. I also used to have the vhs - watched the sht out of it as a kid and it’s been kind of a tradition where I watch it at least once a year or so. So much nostalgia.
This movie was on constant repeat all throught my childhood & teen years (along with hunchback of notre dame & atlantis) & the I2I finale song is still to this day one of my all-time favourite songs, such a huge dopamine hit the second it starts!
The only movies I remember that had Mickey were Fantasia (1940), Fun and Fancy-Free (1947), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), and The Three Musketeers (2004). Donald Duck had The Three Caballeros (1944).
Underrated gem of a film Disney's dinosaur. Has one of the most horrifying depiction of a Dinosaur predator antagonist bc it's beefed up compared to it's real life counter part.
One of my favorite movies. One thing I wish Disney could have done, was to give Max and Roxanne more development in their relationship. Even do a Goof Troop sequel that focuses on them raising their own family, while getting to see Goofy act like the nutty grandfather.
Mickey has a pet dog named Pluto, and Goofy is also a dog. My Dark Theory? The older Goofy/Dogs get in Disney. The more they devolve in to their more Animalistic selves. Hence why Max is smarter than his Father, because he’s still young and has his heightened intelligence. Given time, Goofy will eventually devolve into Pluto. And Mickey is always his friend because he knows one day, his fun loving friend is going to need him.
I’d like to point out that as soon as max explained everything to goofy he understood and immediately tried to help get him on stage, he’s literally the best father you just have to talk to him.

You have to watch the brilliant Atlanta episode about Goofy Movie. Its entirely possible to watch it with no context about any other episode of Atlanta.
The kid who said "yo stacy talk to me talk to me talk to me baby" is prince zuko.
On the (Aladdin) sequel discussion: Return of Jafar sucks, but King of Thieves is a lot of fun and worth the trouble.
I really love how this movie captures the fun of being a youth. Stuff like Max swinging out singing about how he’s gonna stand out until his crush notices him, it’s pure wish fulfillment for anybody growing up. And also for parents, who see and learn from Goofy dealing with his child.
Tevin Campbell as Powerline for the win!!!!
I totally wrecked at least two VHS tapes watching this movie repeatedly as a kid. Good times, great memories
This is a childhood favourite and I probably wore out my VHS copy too. Love that you are reacting to this! :D
5:44 Hello, Zuko here.
I just watched another group react to a movie and it's a format that I used to be against, but now I understand the value that parasocial experience provides, moreso due in part to this video right here. Thank yall.
Moonwalk aside, Powerline was primarily based on Prince and Bobby Brown, the latter of which the animators studied closely when creating his dance moves.
I also had a crush on Roxanne growing up because she reminded me of Topanga from Boy Meets World.
i still have my original VHS of this movie. hell yeah
extremely goofy movie PLEASE lowkey i prefer it but both are incredible
Fcking CLASSIC! One of my top 3 favorite Disney movies ever. I also used to have the vhs - watched the sht out of it as a kid and it’s been kind of a tradition where I watch it at least once a year or so. So much nostalgia.
Yo love the crew, but Chris, Extremely Goofy Movie is a great movie I don't know what you mean "It missed its mark".
This movie was on constant repeat all throught my childhood & teen years (along with hunchback of notre dame & atlantis) & the I2I finale song is still to this day one of my all-time favourite songs, such a huge dopamine hit the second it starts!
I was 11 years old when this movie came out. I love this movie.
The only movies I remember that had Mickey were Fantasia (1940), Fun and Fancy-Free (1947), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), and The Three Musketeers (2004). Donald Duck had The Three Caballeros (1944).
I'm so happy you all reacted to this. One of my favorite underrated Disney movie.
Hell yeah, so glad you guys watched this, my personal favorite animated movie just going off personal connection
I see Goofy as like the Jim Carrey of Disney cartoons
Underrated gem of a film Disney's dinosaur. Has one of the most horrifying depiction of a Dinosaur predator antagonist bc it's beefed up compared to it's real life counter part.
Literally my All-time favorite cartoon movie ever. My friend and I still quote it to this day 28 years later.
I can’t believe there are people who haven’t seen this movie.
This is definitely one of my favorite disney movies. The script was just so fucking tight. And the animation and presentation was top notch.
One of my favorite movies. One thing I wish Disney could have done, was to give Max and Roxanne more development in their relationship. Even do a Goof Troop sequel that focuses on them raising their own family, while getting to see Goofy act like the nutty grandfather.
I like Xtremely Goofy Movie
I like it to, but I love the first one more.
I definitely watched the sequel more than the original. Probably just cause I was addicted to X Games and skateboarding video games at the time.
I like seeing one people singing and three people just watching them. 😆❤️🥰
will always think of the Atlanta episode "The Goof Who Sat By The Door" whenever A Goofy Movie is mentioned going forward.
Goofy is the #1 black tv dad!
A Disney VHS classic. ❤
Back when Disney movie was not only good but also have a great message...
Oh, snap, one of my favorite Disney movies of all time! I loved this movie as a kid, and I had a HUGE crush on Roxanne!
Mickey has a pet dog named Pluto, and Goofy is also a dog. My Dark Theory? The older Goofy/Dogs get in Disney. The more they devolve in to their more
Animalistic selves.
Hence why Max is smarter than his Father, because he’s still young and has his heightened intelligence.
Given time, Goofy will eventually devolve into Pluto. And Mickey is always his friend because he knows one day, his fun loving friend is going to need him.
Yo, there are SOME Disney sequels that are AMAZING
