One tip I haven’t seen in anyone’s video is that if you know the name of the place you’re looking for in Hogwarts you can select it in the list on the left, rather than searching the map itself.

Also, the merlin trials that require you to touch the pillars without touching the ground can be done while broom mounted. Just flying and touch each pillar and they light up. Not a hard puzzle already but much faster on broom.
I've done 2 playthroughs so far and the only quest differences are the quests that lead to meeting Jackdaw. Gryffindor's help Nick join the Headless Hunt, Slytherins help the headmasters house-elf feed toast to a squid mosaic, Hufflepuff's talk to an innocent crazy lady in Azkaban, and I believe Ravenclaws help Ollivander do something at the Owlery. Besides a couple of voice lines that change nothing, there are no real differences between houses other than colors and common rooms.
yeah, Ravenclaw has the jackdaw quest operate differently. Olivander has you look for a family wanf that Jackdaw stole. you go to the owlery, and then proceed pretty much as normal
Something I would like to add about the Swift talent that I learned that saves time: when you come across low ceilings that require you to crouch to crawl under, you can instead use the Swift dodge talent to go through! It will either be long enough to put you on the other side, or push you far into the crawlspace before you actually have to crawl, saving time either way
I really hope Quidditch and Expecto Petronum are added as DLC or future updates, I feel like those are the only 2 things missing for this to be a perfect 10/10
The only thing I’d be worried about with the patronus charm is having limited options for what our patronus could be. That would kinda be disappointing for me from a role playing perspective. But I would definitely love quidditch
If you want a faster way. Go to the mooncalf area, turn your game into story mode (you won’t need to click the capture button more then once). Capture them all, open your map and turn it to day, then turn it back to night so they all respawn. Fill your bag and then sell. Rinse and repeat.
@story mode” is just referring to the “story” difficulty. It’s the easiest difficulty and you can change the difficulty in the settings anytime you want so you could briefly make it easy to farm something then change it back to what you had it when you want to progress more
A quick tip for those on console if you don't feel like hold the left stick to fly all the time you can press down on left stick like a sprint and you will fly automatic and you don't have to hold on to the left stick anymore
I do enjoy this, but I'm enjoying walking into a camp of twenty and standing in the middle and not moving whilst deflecting and perfect parrying everyone and slowly killing them. No better feeling right now.
Not sure if you know this or not, but the various Merlin Trails in which you have to jump from one stonehenge-style arch to another can be done super easy and barely an inconvenience with the broom by just touching the top stones. No jumping required.
3:00 I did this on my most recent (second) playthrough as a Slytherin, and can confirm it is hilariously fun but ridiculously OP. Especially in the various Battle Arenas, using this in one of the later waves where you have like 16 enemies around you at once makes it SO much easier!
Another piece of helpful information regarding the teleport dash is that you can use it to get through the crouching sections of different areas. You know when you crouch down to get into a new area? Well, yeah. Doesn't take forever to get through them anymore :D
Don’t spend all your talent points until you know your play style. You significantly undersold how OP room of requirement and stealth talents can be. I take down whole camps in stealth, it’s so much fun. Also, room of requirement ones are for people who use potions or the combat plants- nothing to do with the actual room. I really like using the venomous tentaculus in battle as like turrets. If you give them the talent point for them it upgrades their damage and they can also break enemy shields of any type. So you plant 2 of those suckers and don’t have to worry about shields at all. I spent a few of the points as soon as I unlocked the ability to but just stockpiled some until I knew my own playstyle better. I like stealth mechanics as like a self imposed difficult challenge, my husband HATES stealth style tasks. I use the combat plants/items and potions a lot and I know some people never touch them. So if you know which spells you use you can better upgrade things you actually use. But don’t completely ignore and write off room of requirement and stealth so quickly. There’s some excellent powers in there. Especially since there’s no new game plus, you could start a new play through and challenge yourself to us, only stealth and stealth talents, or no unforgivable curses, or no combat items or potions, or whatever you’re into, like a pokemon nuzlock. But on a personal note, please just check out. There’s some that can be seriously helpful if you use items potions or plants at all. 😢
I always forgot to use plants and potions. I would literally say it to myself every single time I was in the RoR, “oh I must remember to use those in my next battle” and I never did! Even up to the final quest 😅 I’m starting a second play through soon so hopefully I’ll be able to test out some of those RoR talents this time around 😂
I'm playing with keyboard & mouse, and one of the things that I found really helpful early on with flying on the broom is to remap the stupid default keys of spacebar for Up and Left-Ctrl for Down. Just make them S for Up and W for Down instead, and you can control your broom with the standard Vertical-reversed config that many games already use for flying. Makes broom-flying much more intuitive if you're already used to that.
You can kinda cheese the side quest with the named acromantula by using your broom to go to the top of the pit and fire spells and drop traps from there, though the small spiders do follow you from time to time and the boss followed me when it got to a quater health, but it stopped moving and attacking for some reason I was able to kill it while I was lvl 15
I've seen a bunch of people talk about setting up spell diamonds with 1 purple, 1 yellow, 1red, last one what ever.. and I totally agree you should do that but then you shouldn't change them around once you find the set up. I memorized exactly where all my spells are and in which diamond and its helped a ton. Before I would switch it around to whatever and then it was difficult to switch diamonds and know what I was casting
Swift also helps you get through small areas where you have to crouch and slowly walk through, much faster. Basically use swift before entering any small space, and you will teleport to the other end.
I think it would be helpful if you did a video focusing specifically on end game content. Like what to do and reasons to keep playing after you've beaten the main story. No one else has done that.
Hey Andy, I know you should use one of each color combat spell per diamond, but could you make a video with your suggestions? For instance which control spell goes well with which damage spell or what order you should use them in?
The talent points section will alter after the summer update, you can "switch" talents, which means that if you chose a talent you don't think need, or meant to, you will have the option to "return it" and select another...
Should showcase the counter spells on enemies if timed correctly! Haven't seen anyone go over that. The enemy description cards tell you each weakness that specific enemy has. You can have enemies curse their own people. Time a fire spell as a spider is about to shoot acid to explode. Slow time on a lightning caster and his companions get toasted in those clouds. Trolls smacking themselves with their club after their combo using Flipendo. My favorite is when enemies get close to me, use Glacius and while briefly frozen, you can use petroficus totalus. Feels good when you pull it off. Didnt think there would be layers to combat in this game.
Instead of the kill curse you can transform them into an explosive barrel and throw the barrel into an enemy that is cursed and it’ll kill all of them like avada
You don't need stealth talents. you can use basic stealth to wipe out entire bandit camps without any investment. I'd highly recommend getting Herbology 3 trait though and then getting the Compost skill from room of requirement. You can then do soooo much damage with your combat plants, and they can be cast from stealth. I didn't realize though that we only need to pick up each trait once. I spent an hour save scumming last night, trying to get a 2nd herbology 3. It wasn't until the hour was almost up, that I realized we only need to loot each trait once :'D
I've come across a great combat tip that I've tried and tested WARNING: YOU NEED TO HAVE UPGRADED THE CURSED ENEMIES SHARE DMG ABILITY AND THE CRUCIO UPGRADE THAT EXTENDS CURSES TO OTHER OPPONENTS!!! But with these skills you can also perform a multiple enemy one shot kill with the transfiguration spell by turning the initial enemy into an exploding barrel and blowing it up all enemies sharing the curse will also die instantly
I discovered when you do those Merlin trials where you have to jump from one block to another without touching the ground you can do this on your broom. You don’t have to jump from block to block to activate it just fly really close above it and it will activate.
Great video I’m not a gamer but I love the Wizarding World so I’m excited to play. It will be great to see a video on the differences in game play for each house.
“I know a lot of people are avoiding fighting those spiders”’😂 I felt so attacked by this statement 😂😂 25 hours in still haven’t touch that forest 🤷🏽♂️ 😂
Just go lol, Im more of a completionist myself so right away I abandoned Hogwarts after only unlocking 4 spells (fire). They aren't the bad at all, trolls and the lizard frog things are the worse lol. I wished I had completed more of the story though, I unlocked most of the puzzles and looted resources just by walking lol. It was scary because I didn't know what I'd find but it was really fun and challenging.
The Spiders are weak. Even on Hard. There's so much good stuff to get from the Forest and you can just avoid the spiders. Go there when you have the broom.
@@PodiumTuningRacing when the frogs open their mouth and show their tongues you can cast accio or any levitation spell to exspose their soft underbelly
Thing that's taking me longest to get is the blocking. I have always been a roller in games like dark souls, not much of a parry-dude. So trying to break the muscle memory of just dodging everything with a roll is difficult for me. I know I need to do it though as using this is essential being good at combat. You can just stealth kill entire regions of enemies though with no stealth investment, so always have this as an option.
Yep just like you said at least one useful thing. I was scratching my head each Time "use petrificus totalus on an enemy" combat challenge showed in a middle of a fight...
That's one of my biggest wishes for this game, a DLC in where you attend or visit one of the other large schools to compete in the Quidditch World Cup. Please give us Quidditch and more of the broom mechanics. There are so many dialogue lines that reference things like why do we have to learn flying when Quidditch is cancelled, and other characters bring it up as well. It could easily be incorporated to the story! I'd also love this even more. I'd love to see that come to life because some of the best sections in the game were getting broom upgrades to make you go faster and beating Imelda!
lol it took years to create this hogwarts in game and thats with all the source material. Yeah it would be amazing, but you'd be waiting a decade at a minimum, and thats assuming they start work on it soon. a.k.a probably not in our lifetime.
@@isaiahnixon9135 no I mean if you're very very lucky they'll start on developing the game soon, chances are no one will start developing in it our lifetimes, especially for a game that big. However if you must know I have about twenty years left.
@@GTA_6_Clips I’m sure if the developers had a channel or a way to kind of pitch ideas who knows it could be a reality sooner than later. But I do feel you’re right, 🥺 with how much attention to detail went into designing the castle and all the map even with the current mechanics for flying pretty much being done it would still take a lot of work for this idea. I’d estimate like 2+ years minimum but I’m honestly tempted to create an outline with an objective for this idea to pitch it. I think of the community could add ideas and really put their ideas into one kind of outline I’d think the developers would see it and might give it their own creative spin who knows. There’s definitely potential to see some sort of deeper dive into flying mechanics and broomsticks etc who knows. I am just excited to see what more they want out of this game 🥹 and I’m a dreamer so I just throw out ideas but I think you’re right. It’s unlikely we will see anything like that but would be cool.
@@AndyReloads you should make a spell video showing how you set up your spell diamonds and what are some of your favorite combos. That be a cool video.
Yep, hate walking into the great hall while everyone's having a bite to eat and I can't sit down. But, I'm glad that THAT is one of my very few complaints and not massive glitches.
Amazing content, keep up the good work. Well described, nice examples and good naration. Because of this I watched lot of your other videos. Subscribed.
Well definitely great video been playing the games for over 50h well there is a boarded door in hogsmed close to the right side when you cast recelio is shows up blue but no matter what i cast does nothing any tips for it
I believe multiplayer pvp should have a dark arts arena and pve four or 3 man dungeon if they add it and also co’op exploration questions it is good solo Also for console flight should be controlled with left stick and able to look around with right stick plus spells available while flying would be nice The ability bars select should utilise holding or toggle l1 or l2 or r1 or r2 triangle, square, circle,x fore example
Flying tip: If you press L once on the Xbox (as if you're running) but while you're on the broom, it flies fast on its own without you having to press any button.
Hear me out. A quidditch dlc would suck. It would get old quick and just have very little replay ability. But a goblet of fire tournament dlc. That’d have unlimited possibilities
Oddly, I innately organized my spell diamonds in the same way, control on the right, force bottom, damage on left and top, sometimes. Didn't go dark wizard, though maybe I should have.
Very nice video, very helpful and should be the first video people watch before playing. Learned a few things here even after having 16 hours into the game.
@@AndyReloads It's loads of fun, but there's also a decent amount of frustration due to the sheer astronomical amount of content needed to Platinum it. It feels overwhelming. 🙂
2 min into the video and Ive already learned that the kinda tricky to dodge skill from the first boss can be broken as any shield... it took me a get trys to get the time to dodge and it did fell like a lot more challenging than... well... the rest of the game, Lol
Extra tip for speeding up movement : if your character has to crouch walk through a narrow passage, use the swift ability from the talent tree to cancel the slow animation and just Anime Warp to the other side.
The tip about arresto momentum into petrificus totalis also works to an extent with glacius. In my testing it seems to basically be an execute to where if an enemy is below a certain level of health when hit by glacius, you can follow up with PT and finish them off. It seemed to actually be able to one shot inferi, and similar to Arresto, is significantly less effective on bigger/tougher enemies 1:20
Also: if you want infinite stamina on your broom - fly as close to the ground as game allows you - stamina won’t go down (I don’t know if that’s stock or after 1st upgrade)
Lol I find that bit about the magical creatures to be funny. "I'm gonna beat up the poachers and save these creatures...just to be a poacher myself, catch them and sell them off at a shop to make money so I can finally get that 1200g item!" *Player has gained +1 hypocrisy*
Only a couple things missing in this game imo. Quiditch, obviously, bigger map and less flying limit, and bigger inventory/more inventory added from upgrades. That being said, everything else is amazing, even if my 1660 makes the game stutter anytime I move any faster than a snails pace. (Yes I'm on all low settings)
Could you tell me when you unlock the 2. broom upgrade I did the challenge on the mountain side and from the quidditch field but there are no new quest and no purchasable upgrades

Thanks for the tip on how to set up skill rotation with the spell diamonds. I was struggling with this a bit.
These tips and tricks helped me a lot, thank you
About quidditch, the developers had it in process but scraped it at some point. So I think it's really possible they add a dlc with it
I really hope this game gets a lot of dev support it’s an incredible achievement for a new studio
@@GTA_6_Clipsgd bro you only got 10 years left?
@@GTA_6_Clips I wish you 50
Almost done with 50% of side things and almost done with main quest as well 😅 cant wait to see and play other houses as well
Hey, what graphic and flying settings do you have?
I wish you could simply sit by a fire. They missed a lot out. Still love it though
I'd love that mate! or sit in a Hogwarts hallway and chill out for a bit, that said, I'm super pleased with what we have/no complaints here
Or sleep in your own bed. Or have breakfast in the great hall
@@AndyReloads you should make a spell video showing how you set up your spell diamonds and what are some of your favorite combos. That be a cool video.
Yep, hate walking into the great hall while everyone's having a bite to eat and I can't sit down. But, I'm glad that THAT is one of my very few complaints and not massive glitches.
out of all things this is what you wish they had? why? lmao
Amazing content, keep up the good work. Well described, nice examples and good naration. Because of this I watched lot of your other videos. Subscribed.
Cheers Peter, great to hear mate! Hope you're enjoying the game!
You can also cast the petrify spell when you use Glacius.
Well definitely great video been playing the games for over 50h well there is a boarded door in hogsmed close to the right side when you cast recelio is shows up blue but no matter what i cast does nothing any tips for it
I believe multiplayer pvp should have a dark arts arena and pve four or 3 man dungeon if they add it and also co’op exploration questions it is good solo
Also for console flight should be controlled with left stick and able to look around with right stick plus spells available while flying would be nice
The ability bars select should utilise holding or toggle l1 or l2 or r1 or r2 triangle, square, circle,x fore example
Out of curiosity, what 4 spells do you guys use the most during combat? Mine are levioso, accio, glacius, and expelliarmus.
My four main are expelliarmus, glacius, diffendo and accio. Glacius+diffendo hits a ton, low health enemies basically die on that
I use accio + incendio a lot. Really good once you upgrade both of those spells with talent points.
Flying tip: If you press L once on the Xbox (as if you're running) but while you're on the broom, it flies fast on its own without you having to press any button.
9:10 Plus, if you're a Trophy/Achievement Hunter, you have to play through all 4 houses anyway to get Platinum, lol.
Hear me out. A quidditch dlc would suck. It would get old quick and just have very little replay ability. But a goblet of fire tournament dlc. That’d have unlimited possibilities
Just woke up, but love the video. Great work as always boss
Thank you for all the tips, loving the finds.
Cheers Trev! Great to hear mate & thanks for letting me know
I’m so glad I did the ⭕️ and noticed it makes you go directly down. So much better then trying to wiggle thru
This has become the most useful channel covering Hogwarts Legacy.
If your close to the ground you can use the broom sprint without using the boost bar
It took me fighting Ranrok to realize the Color match the Spell... I was rocking Stupefy for shields lol
The Merlin trials where it wants you to jump from one stone to another, use the broom, your feet just need to touch the top of the stone to activate
I wish I saw this earlier. I kept tripping up in the one corner that as the short gap followed by a long gap
anyone know if anything transfers over from one character to another? I want to play as a different house but don't want to redo 45 hours.
Oddly, I innately organized my spell diamonds in the same way, control on the right, force bottom, damage on left and top, sometimes. Didn't go dark wizard, though maybe I should have.
Thanks so much for all these tips, Andy! I'm excited to finally start playing it, and this really helps to have a better game experience! Cheers! 🍻❤️
Great to hear they were helpful Felipe! Hope you have a wonderful time with the game!
Another awesome video Andy, thank you so much for your hard work!
Cheers Tim, always great seeing you in the comments, terrific to hear you enjoyed it!
Love the confirmation that there is some house specific content! I did the Azkaban quest without realizing others didn't see it at all!
Only that quest though
Very nice video, very helpful and should be the first video people watch before playing. Learned a few things here even after having 16 hours into the game.
Thank you!! I couldn't remember how to get the larger tables!!
great content :) subbed
I swear, I had no idea how to open those eye chests. Thank you!
you're welcome mate, hope you're enjoying the game
Casting glaciate on animals you're trying to capture freezes them long enough to keep them in range for all the button presses
Another quick tip: you can "spring" in water to swim faster, using same key when sprinting on land.
I've just started playing in August, I'm in my house Slytherin and wow it's amazing thanks for the tips
Is there any multiplayer anywhere or is it all solo?
it might be a hot take but I prefer the brooms over the beasts when it comes to flying
Thanks alot on the tip about the talent points, and of course keep up your awesome work, your the best
Great video. The spell colour-coding tip is something I’ll definitely do.
After playing this game I sympathize with Tom Riddle. Being a bad wizard is an outrageous fun.
Btw I love your videos keep up the good work 🙂
cheers mate, great to hear!
one more tip if you do the swift talent thing you can go under area fast where you ussally crouch
With limited talent points I never bothered selecting a new diamond for skill slots I just had 2 red a yellow and purple for the whole game
You can reset talents on PC using a save file editor available on Nexus mods.
Great video! 😎
Cheers Leandro! Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it :)
To cover you can cast lotto cuz once frozen as well
Lol I find that bit about the magical creatures to be funny.
"I'm gonna beat up the poachers and save these creatures...just to be a poacher myself, catch them and sell them off at a shop to make money so I can finally get that 1200g item!"
*Player has gained +1 hypocrisy*
Only a couple things missing in this game imo. Quiditch, obviously, bigger map and less flying limit, and bigger inventory/more inventory added from upgrades.
That being said, everything else is amazing, even if my 1660 makes the game stutter anytime I move any faster than a snails pace. (Yes I'm on all low settings)
Could you tell me when you unlock the 2. broom upgrade I did the challenge on the mountain side and from the quidditch field but there are no new quest and no purchasable upgrades
6:16 isn't that just poaching?
I completely agree with you Chris
Apparently she finds them a good home...
Yes and you can create a breeding farm to sell the baby creatures it’s awesome I can’t wait to get mine set up and bring in the cash
is there a character customization for assassins like myself
For those avoiding the spiders use fire on them. Early on Acio + Incendio will make short work of most.
Thank you! I'm a gamer myself so I understand basic 'gaming' but this really helped my mum understand more, I put her on story mode so she can still enjoy but this guide is what she has on constantly to understand more!x
I'm similar to your mum,but perhaps older. I'm finding these videos very helpful. I am a beginner at rpg. This is my first. My daughter is away at college. She is not into HP, but is encouraging. She has sent me links to her favorite UA-cams who are covering Legacy. I found this channel on my own.
The thing with capturing beasts and selling them is very time consuming because you can’t just go back to that same puffskein den because they wont be there. You have to wait 6 rest cycles before they are refreshed..
For what do you need to grind gold? I have 40k and i dont know what to do with it.
I love the game, but I have to say I loath the flight controls - didn't get it at all, inverting the input direction helped a lot, though
