Starting out don't be afraid to spend a little time travelling around on foot rather than fast travelling or broom riding. Moonstones and assorted plants are everywhere and picking them up as you go means you'll never be short of either.
One of the best scrolls is the one that creates a random potion every 11 minutes or so. Create two of these in the Room of Requirement, you will not need to brew any potions. Concentrate on maximizing herbology.
Pro tip, after you take the astronomy class in chapter 2. That's when you finally unlock all of the activities in the open world. That's when you should start going crazy over it.
One note about Incendio. yes i agree i like the range of confringo more, but i find incendio invaluable when fighting groups of inferi as they all need to be affected by fire, before they take damage, so i like to get up close with the group, use the circle of incendio to get them all burning so i can start fighting them all
agreed, i use Incendio all the time since its good for crowd control, fire is required for specific enemies and its just cool to see a ring of fire erupt form your wand
On top of that, Incendio actually has the highest damage in game, surpassing Diffindo. It’s range can be made up either by Accio or blink roll towards enemies.
Big tip, save up for the three largest herbology stations (small x 5, medium x 3, large x 2) while expensive both galleons and moonstone, this makes the most of your 7 station limit within the room of requirement. Why grow 7 plants when you could potentially have 35 growing plots.
Don't use all larges... As they only have 2 slots you're limiting yourself to 14 plants... I like to use 3 small (15 slots), 2 medium (6 slots) and 2 large (4 slots) a total of 25 plant slots.
Be willing to slow burn certain quests. For example, instead of trying to tackle all of the Demiguise statues and Daedalian keys at once, just give yourself a while of doing other quests to find them naturally. Once you've gotten past the first two sets of Merlin trials, just do the trials as you come to them. Same thing with popping balloons.
agreed. these trivia got irritatingly repetitive after a while if you keep doing them intentionally. But encountering them on your way to somewhere might well be a pleasant change of pace.
That’s kind of what I’ve been doing. I got bored of searching for them so I started doing other stuff and I realized while I was doing other stuff I was coming across them so I’m getting there. With this game there’s no reason to be bored. You do what you feel like, when you feel like, for me at least. So much to do. It’s been a lot of fun.
I found that wiggenweld potions are abundant all over the world, if i use some ill probably replenish my supply just with the drops in the aftermath - especially against goblins. I found that thunderbrew potions were the best use of my time in the room of requirement as theyre pretty powerful and after your first encounter with inferi, theyre easy to make too.
One of the best things I've found is perked disillusionment charm paired with perked transfiguration and petrificus. You can sneak through entire large waves taking down foes from behind, especially groups, and snipe outliers by transfiguring them into explosive barrels and one tapping with a normal cast to light them up. Others around will immediately investigate and take the AOE blast. Otherwise turn them into a keg and throw it at the others. It's not a charge in approach, but I've found it immensely fun.
Stuff like this is why I want a new game plus to play a wizard or witch who's playing along with the teachers pretending they don't know how to turn a person into a prolapsed asshole 🤷🏾♂️😂😂😂
Don't forget you can drop cabbages and tentacula wihout breaking stealth. Fully perked those plants can do a lot of damage and the tentacula seem to attract mobs over to them letting you set up a petroficus.

You're missing out if you don't get the 4 measly points in stealth. Stealth is really OP in this game and even if you don't stealth a ton, for the situations that call for it you'll be super happy you did it
I rarely ever used wiggenweld potions on normal mode, so I switch to hard mode and I actually enjoy the slight challenge to it now. I also never used any of the other potions and plants so switching to hard mode gave me more of a reason to try those out as well.
You make a lot of good points, I wasted a ton of Galleon’s on my first play though. Though I want to point out incendio mastery helps if you are getting mobbed by spiders or Inferius, I have used it successfully in a few instances. And there is a mod thank puts a talent reset potion for sale at J Pippins if you are playing on pc though I haven’t used it.
Also don't neglect the combat plants - you can carry 12 mandrake roots at a time, and having a couple of 5-pot tables in the room of requirement will let you replenish your mandrakes in one visit, and an AOE stun is a godsend in fights with multiple enemies.
The fertilizer generator is usually the first spellscroll I buy. You can only have three but the fertilizer they produce every four minutes will double the yield from each plant at your potting table.
Agree with the “get all the spells” thing. But the side quests have all been pretty good tbf. I wouldn’t ignore all side quests that aren’t spell rewards - throw one in every now and then for funsies. The pacing matters but it’s totally up to you. I haven’t regretted the way I’ve paced the game. When any side quest appears, I’ll do it lol. Especially as a lot of them are to go clear a bandit camp or den of spiders which gets you good loot
@@minatonamikaze6400 Not sure, but I noticed a man cocooned in webbing at a spider area and freed him with fire. I didn't get to talk to him in time because I was still battling spiders, but I wonder if that's what you do to complete it. Or maybe it just remains on the map.
@@pineconey I remember finding one cocooned poacher at a spider cave and for some reason I couldn't free him. He spent the whole fight trash talking me using the default poacher fight lines. Somebody's mother didn't teach their kid that being polite when you need help is the smart thing;).
1. Remember to use Revelio on your broom. It actually reveals map locations on the World Map, which is SUCH a timesaver. Basically, whenever you get to a section of the map that looks kinda sparse for locations, fire it up. 2. Potions are MEANT to be stacked up. Use Disillusionment to go stealth, and if you get close to getting caught, pop an Invis potion to reset the NPCs that are flagging you. For larger combats, use a combo of Endurus, Maxima, and Focus potions. Focus potions re-energize as you sling spells, so as long you keep firing to some degree, your cast times are MUCH shorter and your Focus pots last through the combat. 3. Talents: Aside from the stealth tree, DEFINITELY get your talents for speeding up spell cooldowns as soon as you can. Combined with using a Focus Potion, you're basically on Full Send in a fight. You could just solo the entire squad of Death Eaters in Order of the Phoenix. 4. TRAITS- Screwed up on this one for a while. There's a specific one you *really* want for combat, Concentration. It buffs ALL of your damage spells, by a LOT on Con III. Like, sweet Jesus, I didn't get it til I stacked them on my gear, and was just ending crowds of enemies at a go. Basic Incendio started taking out Inferi by itself, rather than just opening them up to damage. 5. Spell Combos: Confrigo>Glacius>Diffindo>Depulso is an insanely solid combo, especially on upgrade, and fun to use. You by no means need any of the Unforgiveable curses. 6. Bandits Camps refill with Wizards and Goblins, which is important as it helps push more points into your collections for Combat. That means more Dueling, as well as more takedowns for needed challenge enemies.
Pro tip: The seasons change based on the main quests completed! So if you want to avoid winter, be careful as you progress. The game is really pretty in Autumn so that's the best time to finish all the side quests while you still have some main stories to complete as incentive :)
Why would anyone want to avoid winter? It’s probably one of the most beautiful seasons in the game, especially once Hogwarts has its Christmas decorations up
Hey I'm in winter now, roughly level 30. Without spoiling as much as possible, do you know what season the game is in its final state? Like when you've completed the main quest is it summer again or spring? Or does it stay winter for the rest of the story? I would really hate that. I haven't done many of the broom sidequests and now I'm beating myself up because I don't want to do them when everything is dead and frozen over.

@@SkimoStories Yes it goes back to Spring! So you'll get to do all of the side quests in the green glory again. It's really the only bonus lol - I have a hard time enjoying a game once all the main quests are done so I'm legit min-maxing specific quests to get the most out of the progression and it's pretty amazing so far. First playthrough I didn't even notice the seasons until Winter came lol
I just started playing this recently after many hours of Jedi Survivor. So glad I found these videos because I feel like I have already made a few errors in my talent points and getting rid of gear. I can now go back and adjust my playing. Thanks for no spoilers and a lot of useful information!
I started room of requirement with over 200 moonstones 😂. Doing hard difficulty with zero wiggenweld upgrades or crafting. Elden ring has prepared me for this
Also, you can have every potion activated at once, so you can just pop an invisibility potion, then every other one to become invincible, dealing massive damage and taking out shields instantly, with practically no cooldown on your spells as a thundercloud smites all your enemies for you. Add in the cabbages and tentaculas, and your enemies will just melt before you. I was struggling a bit with a massive spider boss, but then i just popped everything i had, and the fight was over in 10 seconds. I barely even had to lift a finger. And you can repeat this 12 times with a full inventory, letting you beat anything in the game with ease.
I like that talent points are limited, it gives replay value to the game and gives you an opportunity to try different 'builds'. My first character went 'Hufflepuff' as I envisioned her more of an alchemist and being a dark wizard really doesnt fit her good two shoes vibe. However, I'd love to play the game again as a Slytherin and go full on Dark Wizard for that character.
I think the issue is that the spells get trickled out you might rely on a dud spell early on because your options aren't great early and spec into it to make it better, but it is just dead weight now. I have a few talents I wouldn't pick again. I would have preferred for us to get about half the talent points and for there to be an ability to respec somewhere in Hogwarts so you could take on more specialised roles. My first character was Slytherin and I went down the path of dark magic and took all 10 dark arts but I'd probably not take a few of them knowing what I know now. Like Imperio Mastery, it is weak and it is fairly easy for you to curse everyone. Curse Sapper sounds useful in theory but doesn't do enough in reality. I sm not sure if Blood Curse does enough either so you could thin down going from 10 down to 7 but you don't really know what is good or bad until you have already committed to it permanently and I probably wont play another dark arts character so all there is just regret at some choices.
i mean the fact that there are house exclusive quests adds replay value, u dont need any more than that, id rather have either the ability to respec or to be able to be over powered and be able to unlock them all in one playthrough
@@vimzim8576 With the right combo and talents, even the spells you think are duds can be pretty powerful. With the talent upgrades you can Leviosa a group of enemies, Accio to bring them in close then Incendio the group. It doesn't work with every mob as some can't be Levios'd but it works well for an initial sneak attack against, poachers, goblins and wolves.
Thanks for the vid. My play style is to do all quests, explore, take the main quest line slowly, and get 80-100 hours in rather than burn it up in 20-30, but it's always good to know some tips to make things fall into place better.
i am the same but u do want to fast track quests at least in the early game so u can 1 unlock spells, 2 unlock the talents upgrades and 3 unlock broom flight which makes doing all of what u want to do a hell of allot easier.
@FuryousD honestly? Not really:( I just finally, as of last night, got to under the shadow of something where I'm going to see sebastians sister. I literally have been doing nothing but exploring every bit of hogwarts and around the general area for merlin trials and field guides. I'm at 87% with field studies and 30% with quests and challenges lolol.ive played nothing but elden ring and for honor these past year, so I just walk into the middle of twenty or so enemies and parry until they submit lol.
While you can't determine which trait you are going to get from the ornate chest in bandit camps, you can use the time turner (save scumming) to get another "first" look in the chest. Your level also has some determination (couldn't tell you specifics other than I see more Tier III traits at higher levels, even though I don't have the Tier I or II of that trait). Luckily it doesn't take a terribly long time to load the game, so saving and reloading for better traits doesn't waste too much time. Also remember that you can't slot a Tier II or III into a Superb piece of gear (the blue gear). Superb gear (blue) have a Trait Slot Level 1, Extraordinary gear (purple) have a Trait Slot Level 2 and, finally, Legendary gear (orange/gold) have a Trait Slot Level 3.
thankfully for the talent tree you just gotta decide what 12 talents you feel good avoiding. which is easier to decide than what talents to get and what order to do that in >_
I strongly recommend use Save/Load everything you come upon a item/money chest bc the game tends to load more glasses/scarfs!! Recommend same for wand handle chests
Pro tip: don't waste money on the rematerializing station or whatever it's called. Moonstone is everywhere, just collect it as you go in the beginning of the game and you'll never even approach deficiency.
The accio + incendio combo is quite lethal imo, it’s good to get in the habit of using it since it will bail you out of some messy situations when timed well.
I gotta play through the game again to get to the headmaster room again. There's only one time you can be there and you cannot get 100% without the things in there
why not use Incendio? it is extremely useful with that skill despite its close range for taking out groups of enemies after pulling them in with the Accio spell and its upgrade that draws in multiple enemies that are close together
I kept doing all the main quests and all the side quests up until the second meeting and trials with Prof. Fig and Sebastian Sallows "Crucio" side quest, where I then just started grinding until my character reaches level 40 (I'm currently at 34 and with 100 hours in for my first week of play). Anyway, everyone plays differently, but as long as we are having fun, is all that matters. This game is now in the "Elite" group of my top 10 games of all time, in fact, it's my number 3 game of all-time at the moment. I love and I'm addicted to this game, even though it still needs a few patches to fix all those small glitches and bugs, like not being able to pick up certain items due to not having a prompt to do so, getting rid of those yellow glowing chests revealed by "Revelio" once the chests have been open and having unlimited pings with Revelio in certain areas, because in some areas they have a cool down. Those are just a few examples, but there are a few others as well, mostly minor. Oh and,... "Revelio" is by far, my most used spell. Well, it's back to Hogwarts for me... Game on everyone! 😎 P.S. I avoid opening most chests until I reach level 40, because all gear levels with the player's level.
Made almost all of the "mistakes" and they didn't feel like mistakes at all! Honestly, my advice to you is, whenever a main quest opens up, do all the side missions that also become available, they are tailored for your level and spells that you have already acquired! Not to mention that they make you explore the world... don't do crazy invading loyalists' settlements as many side missions you'll make you go there, so, unless you'll want to be doing twice the job, don't bother! I'm playing normal difficulty, 60+ in, and have 91% of overall progress... I explored the map as it presented itself, and I felt that was the best way not to feel burnt out, believe me, it's huuuge! So, take your time! Do the missions as they appear, otherwise, you'll miss out on some great stories and later you'll be stuck with a bunch of side content
6:42 your mistaken there stupor can be cast when ever protego is used not only on a perfect protego and altho stupor doesnt break shields on hard difficulty, a perfect protego does. So you can break every shield with just good timing on protego on hard and when locking on to the enemy casting or keeping the attacking enemy with the white outline you can break their shield and stun them for a while just with a perfect protego
The one thing I didn't realize was you have to go to menu and claim your merlin trial prizes. I didn't get a lot of stuff because I thought it would show up automatically when you were done with the correct number of tasks.
A few of us all started on hard and have been learning. You said "get good" and I laughed way too hard 🤣 (Hold Right trigger to "slow boost" while regaining boost)
mmh I still really like incendio mastery, anything that gets close; incendio. Really helpfull for spiders and inferi. I've sort of commited to not using the dark arts/curses if I can avoid it, despite learning the unforgivables as a Ravenclaw ( knowledge is knowledge after all) I really like the idea of my first character knowing how to do the unforgivibles, but having the wisdom to only use them as a last resort. I'll be having a surplus of talent points.
Same! Although now I'm on bandit camps spree and throwing an AK at one of them in front of the rest makes them so scared of you they barely do anything after that 😂 Seeing that fear has opened some dark parts of my personality:D
Also, Dark Magic talents don't all apply to Unforgivables. Actually, the ones I use add a curse to such things as Expeliarmus and cursed opponents get more damage.
Something that I found out recently, if you're REALLY desperate for moonstones, you can get a few of them from each of the vivariums when you unlock them.
I left clearing the camps for the end game (mainly bc I'm old and I like stories in games and not looting sprees) and now fighting these losers feels so cool when I'm so OP :D
the swift talent reminded me of bloodborne when i first used it, so of course i made a whole character around fighting like a hoonter, which means using swift to get right up in enemies faces, use a combo, a few basic casts and a lot of incendio
I have all vendors memorised and ssell them items that are choking my inventory and you can sell your clothes items to ANY vendor even if they only sell potions or ingredients. Don't throw away unless you are in a Goblin mine for instance.
Also as for galleons. I've sold beasts and gear and built up quite a large sum. I haven't needed to buy anything for quite some time. But keep building it up just in case.
I had regrets for upgrading incendio, but it’s useful when you’re surrounded by those creatures that you have to hit with fire before they can get damaged.
Spiders also are very vulnerable to fire, and they have a bad habit of swarming. When your confringo is on cool down, it is nice to still have a way to move everyone back a step and light 'em on fire. You still get quite a few talents to pick from, so they aren't all going to be winners.

Level 38 and I'm not using the unforgettables so I have a lot of spear points that I just put into the perks I might use and not the ones I won't use lol.
I learned about the auto save bug issue the hard way! I fell off a ledge and died, the game never loaded the next screen so I closed the game. Opened it back up and saw I lost the past 3.5hrs of work.
I'd say you need the incendio upgrade for fighting large groups of INferi. They can't be harmed unless you set them on fire first and if youre in the battle arena or an Inferi lair then having both confringo and incendio can help a lot. Also, you only have 3 spells that do cast damge with no set up, and that's one of them. Sure Depulso kind of does as well as decendo, but those take set up spells.
Same goes for Protego/Depulso upgrade. The shockwave it causes around you is great way to deal with goblins and mongrels. Overall I would say most if not all talents are great and enhance you a lot.
i ironically was reading a reddit post about the accio group talent and the incendio talent trap. they went on and on about how incendio was the trap part. when in reality it was the accio part since AOE for spiders and inferni is EXACTLY why the incendio talent point isnt a waste. extremely useful niche isnt a waste. it is shoehorning something together and calling it essential that is the waste. now dont get me wrong but the accio groups of mobs can be fun, but for a large part isnt practical >_< mobs eventually start actively spreading out making the talent activation very inconsistent, or they literally say "you activated my trap card" as they ferociously turn into melee monsters once you accio them close.
Something I didn't know until I watched your video...that you can collect stuff on your broom by flying low. Another thing I wish I had known is that if I sneak everywhere and don't fight, my ancient magic doesn't recharge.
@@Olimar92 i know right, my personal character (i stream the game) is a Hufflepuff and they are known for Herbology so i am really looking forward to using them in my personal playthrough and maybe even in my streaming playthrough at some point since he is evil and it seems pre evil to sick a bunch of deadly plants on opponents XD.

My fave is the cabbage lol the reactions from the goblins are hilarious! I reocmmend using it and just watching as the cabbage butchers all of them and one of them says, "I will not be taken down by a vegetable!" Or somewhere along those lines 🤣
Jesus I am clearly playing this wrong. Level 19...no room of requirements...no broom, fuck all spells. Having fun exploring and getting the shit kicked out of me because my spell list sucks. I know...do main quests but...I get distracted a lot and don't follow guides because...it's my game not your game. I also have tons of money, tons of materials and recipes and I HATE SPIDERS!. Oh, no talents either...not one. If they had a talent called "Dig own grave" I would invest in that because I passed my OWL's in that. I know...playing it wrong but...don't care, having fun.
I was level 20 before I even started the quest to unlock all those locks. It just seemed as I kept going out in the world I'd come to a hamlet and do all of quests there including Merlin's trials or follow the pretty butterflies. Now I'm 23rd level and got level 3 of unlock and I still haven't even gotten my mount. In no hurry to finish the main quest. Still working out my little room in Hogwarts and just came across the dark arts combat zone too but my 1st foray there went badly because I had zero health pots. But it's a good game but flying still needs work. There's no way to look around you while on your broom, by that, no looking up and down. Hopefully, a future patch may clean that up a bit. It sure degrades a key experience in the game and one that will need loads of work once they add quidditch because flying sucks the way it is. I find myself running around more than using my broom except when I want to get somewhere new or gain entrance to an area that requires a broom. They definitely created a great world for future DLCs.
Okay... so you give us a bunch of tips and tricks... but what I am looking for is a prescribed order to do this stuff in. Isn't there a logical progression or critical path that will give us the biggest bang for the buck, so to speak? What to do first, second, third... and the reasons why. Now THAT is an upload I would watch.... and sort of discuss. It would be cool to see a discussion about how to prioritize this stuff.

Fast travel I sometimes do. But, I am more of a site seeing person so I walk, run, and fly. I loot as I go. The game is like any mmorpg and survival game to me. I like to fight as well.
Swift is currently bugged (it better be a bug). If you try using it while fighting a troll, you can watch the troll 'slide' to you when you use the swift dodge, and hit you with the second swing of their combo. Just a FYI for those that think there is something wrong, there is. LOL
@@cloneboss4295 oh, does that make it not a bug? Or they wont slide again? Still a bug, and I've seen them slide more than once. The whole point of getting the talent is to get further away, to avoid the hit. It doesn't work as intended and if we are going to suggest that people choose this talent, we should tell them that right now it is sometimes broken.
My most important tips are: 1. Pay attention to the combat challenge every time you go into combat. Not only will you get bonus exp, but it will count towards 100% completion. 2. Never _ever_ buy gear. Only use what you get from chests.
some of the people in the world will give you things in return for something. For example, In the swamp north of hogsmeade there's a small wooden house with a guy in it. (you cant miss it because there's a floo powder station there). He will give you a thunderbrew potion and invisible potion in return for a basic potion you get in the beginning(forgot which kind). Anyways, you need to use these two potions for the 2nd assignment for professor sharp. There are many people like this so keep all of your stuff!
Hufflepuff secret robe, there is one for each house, and to unlock the one for your house you have to complete the 16 flying keys lockbox thingies you can find all around Hogwart. Then you can unlock the chest in the common room
I would never describe this game as “all just thrown at you”. It’s far less sandboxy than games like Fallout, for example. There’s a pretty tight path they want you to go on as far as which quests to do next. You can’t even discover some of them until until you’ve passed other ones.
There are a few things that they should fix 1: when you get to the 50 hogwarts pages, 25 hogsmead pages, and 16 world pages you can't level up from the remaining pages 2: you can only reach level 40 in game what about the savvy spender achievement in Xbox One you need at least 35 to get through the stealth, core,spell, and dark arts trees in that skill tree section 3: the voices of the main character I think they should use the player's voice and have the character be a transfer student from their player's location like I am from the USA and I should be a transfer student from ilvermorny 4: what if someone wants to play as a tomboy student if they choose a female student but they want to wear pants the only option to to choose a male student I mean why can't the girl student wear pants 5: why can't the main student sit down of course they sit down in class and they sit when talking to nattie but they can't even sit to have a meal or to meet their fellow classmates 6: last but not least why isn't our name mentioned not even once as a first timer hogwarts student I would love to be mentioned in game
Question: I have a few field guides and collectibles to get. Still got a few side quests left. I have the House Cup mission available. If I do the house cup mission, can I still play to complete with other quests and collectables, or will I have to start a new game?
Hey just so everybody knows when you do the Bandit Camp you can specifically get the trait that you want all you have to do is right before you open the chests is manually save your game and then open the chest if you don't get the one you want exit and then reload the save that you did right before you opened it and try again the trait is always randomized
I disagree about Incendio. Incendio becomes one of the hardest hitting attack spells in the the game if you spec into it and combine it with and spec into Accio. You can increase this power by stacking Tier III Incendio clothing enchantments. You can properly turn Accio/Incendio into a one shot for anything save maybe a troll or mini-boss. When paired with another high damage spell combo on your bar, like Glacius/Diffindo, you can become a killing machine. With clothing enchantments you can easily get Incendio damage above 5k and I've seen it has high as 8k on a stunned troll combined with a Glacius. Incendio/Accio is an OP build that I'd put above even a fully specced Dark Arts Avada Kedavra multi-kill build.
I had plenty of coin the amount of gear you get is insane and 9 times out of 10 your going to fill that up in every big mission. Sale it off if it's not better than what you have. If you want to beat hard battles the first time you can carry 25 health potions. Also use the talent points when you see a talent that increases the effectiveness of a health potion.
You are wrong I believe about the Merlin trials. I'm currently at 4 out of 6 after completing the first set of 2 and I still can only hold 20 gear pieces
32 hours into the game and I don’t think I’ve ever used a potion or plant in any combat besides being forced to by story or to complete a dueling challenge.
I'm waiting for the PC performance patch if there even is one coming soon. Constant frame drops and stuttering make it unplayable. Really like the game but it needs a fix ASAP.
When i first heard about the importance of growing your own plants to brew your potions at first i thought it would be an intresting thing and it totally fits in this world. However while hunting for crafting materials are generally very annoying in most games, here i honestly think they went abit overboard in the opposite direction. Once u have the first small version of the room of requirement unlocked u can start to grow and brew but imo u get to many plants from each harvest that after just 2-3 harvests u have more plants then u know what to do with. U could ofc turn all of it into potions but then u end up with a massive oversupply of each potion type. Potion effects are powerful if u spec into them but with such a massive oversupply (excluding wiggenweld) your starting to turn into a Witcher 3 Alchemy build and just downing potions all the time. It might not be that bad at first when u only have the 1 planter/brewer per table, but the moment u buy the 3 slot planter/brewer u will instantly have more plants then u know what to do with. The rescued beast section on the other hand i think was very well balanced and u can manuelly adjust how mutch of each animals resource u can get when u visit them by simply adding/removing beasts that u need more/less of.
I prefer having more of the ingredients, then less. Sometimes when I got too cocky in a fight and was not careful I would have to down up to5 or more potions and if you go on "expedition" you can be down to zero potions in few minutes. So knowing I can just pop into RoR and go to crafting potions and not having to wait for plants to grow
Incindio is useful in certain circumstances, but once you unlock confringo, incindio becomes pretty much a useless spell. Also for making galleons you can capture and sale magical beasts at the magical beasts shop (Peck and Groom is the name I believe, located in the northern part of Hogsmeade).
Can't agree on this one chief. One is a long range spell, and the other is a short range aoe (when upgraded). Far from useless. Especially if you're needing another fire option while Confringo is on cool down. 🤷🏿♂️
the hard difficulty felt like "normal" to me :/ i want a bigger challenge, last boss in the game was waaay too easy.... Just ancient magic, expelliarmus with curse, glacio, diffindo, and that 3 times over and he died...
Incendio Mastery paired with Accio & Crucio Mastery with Blood Curse is actually really powerful. Confringo and Bombarda are my go-to power spells but Accio multiple enemies, Crucio one of them with Crucio Mastery so they all get cursed, use Insendio with its ring of fire it'll hit them all for a lot of damage as well as doing extra damage from Blood Curse hurting all cursed enemies. Incendio Mastery on its own is admittedly dogshit, but paired with other talents it's potentially one of the most powerful upgrades in the game.

Starting out don't be afraid to spend a little time travelling around on foot rather than fast travelling or broom riding. Moonstones and assorted plants are everywhere and picking them up as you go means you'll never be short of either.
One of the best scrolls is the one that creates a random potion every 11 minutes or so. Create two of these in the Room of Requirement, you will not need to brew any potions. Concentrate on maximizing herbology.

Pro tip, after you take the astronomy class in chapter 2. That's when you finally unlock all of the activities in the open world. That's when you should start going crazy over it.

One note about Incendio. yes i agree i like the range of confringo more, but i find incendio invaluable when fighting groups of inferi as they all need to be affected by fire, before they take damage, so i like to get up close with the group, use the circle of incendio to get them all burning so i can start fighting them all
agreed, i use Incendio all the time since its good for crowd control, fire is required for specific enemies and its just cool to see a ring of fire erupt form your wand
Accio>Basic Cast>Incendio. You can pull someone in, hit them once, then blast them. Depulso after to send them into their friends for good measure. 😂
Upgrade accio and incendo then make a great combo out of it. Accio> glacial spell > incendio and watch whole groups just die instantly
INCENDIO MASTERY is Very useful against inferi. confringo is only 2nd to INCENDIO in this one situation
On top of that, Incendio actually has the highest damage in game, surpassing Diffindo. It’s range can be made up either by Accio or blink roll towards enemies.
Big tip, save up for the three largest herbology stations (small x 5, medium x 3, large x 2) while expensive both galleons and moonstone, this makes the most of your 7 station limit within the room of requirement. Why grow 7 plants when you could potentially have 35 growing plots.
Don't use all larges... As they only have 2 slots you're limiting yourself to 14 plants... I like to use 3 small (15 slots), 2 medium (6 slots) and 2 large (4 slots) a total of 25 plant slots.
Be willing to slow burn certain quests. For example, instead of trying to tackle all of the Demiguise statues and Daedalian keys at once, just give yourself a while of doing other quests to find them naturally. Once you've gotten past the first two sets of Merlin trials, just do the trials as you come to them. Same thing with popping balloons.

I did all the keys and demiguise statues at once. I really wanted the house robe and I wanted to be able to unlock any door or chest I came across.

agreed. these trivia got irritatingly repetitive after a while if you keep doing them intentionally. But encountering them on your way to somewhere might well be a pleasant change of pace.
That’s kind of what I’ve been doing. I got bored of searching for them so I started doing other stuff and I realized while I was doing other stuff I was coming across them so I’m getting there. With this game there’s no reason to be bored. You do what you feel like, when you feel like, for me at least. So much to do. It’s been a lot of fun.
I found that wiggenweld potions are abundant all over the world, if i use some ill probably replenish my supply just with the drops in the aftermath - especially against goblins. I found that thunderbrew potions were the best use of my time in the room of requirement as theyre pretty powerful and after your first encounter with inferi, theyre easy to make too.
One of the best things I've found is perked disillusionment charm paired with perked transfiguration and petrificus. You can sneak through entire large waves taking down foes from behind, especially groups, and snipe outliers by transfiguring them into explosive barrels and one tapping with a normal cast to light them up. Others around will immediately investigate and take the AOE blast. Otherwise turn them into a keg and throw it at the others. It's not a charge in approach, but I've found it immensely fun.
Stuff like this is why I want a new game plus to play a wizard or witch who's playing along with the teachers pretending they don't know how to turn a person into a prolapsed asshole 🤷🏾♂️😂😂😂
Don't forget you can drop cabbages and tentacula wihout breaking stealth. Fully perked those plants can do a lot of damage and the tentacula seem to attract mobs over to them letting you set up a petroficus.
I have one tip I haven’t seen in a video yet and wish I knew, when flying on your broom, if you fly low your boost will not deplete.

You're missing out if you don't get the 4 measly points in stealth. Stealth is really OP in this game and even if you don't stealth a ton, for the situations that call for it you'll be super happy you did it

Hogwarts legacy is one of the few games where I don't totally suck at stealth especially after upgrading the stealth skills
I rarely ever used wiggenweld potions on normal mode, so I switch to hard mode and I actually enjoy the slight challenge to it now. I also never used any of the other potions and plants so switching to hard mode gave me more of a reason to try those out as well.

You make a lot of good points, I wasted a ton of Galleon’s on my first play though. Though I want to point out incendio mastery helps if you are getting mobbed by spiders or Inferius, I have used it successfully in a few instances. And there is a mod thank puts a talent reset potion for sale at J Pippins if you are playing on pc though I haven’t used it.
Also don't neglect the combat plants - you can carry 12 mandrake roots at a time, and having a couple of 5-pot tables in the room of requirement will let you replenish your mandrakes in one visit, and an AOE stun is a godsend in fights with multiple enemies.
And get hilarious comments from thr Goblins as chomping cabbage take them down 🤣
The fertilizer generator is usually the first spellscroll I buy. You can only have three but the fertilizer they produce every four minutes will double the yield from each plant at your potting table.
Agree with the “get all the spells” thing. But the side quests have all been pretty good tbf. I wouldn’t ignore all side quests that aren’t spell rewards - throw one in every now and then for funsies. The pacing matters but it’s totally up to you.
I haven’t regretted the way I’ve paced the game. When any side quest appears, I’ll do it lol. Especially as a lot of them are to go clear a bandit camp or den of spiders which gets you good loot

@@minatonamikaze6400 Not sure, but I noticed a man cocooned in webbing at a spider area and freed him with fire. I didn't get to talk to him in time because I was still battling spiders, but I wonder if that's what you do to complete it. Or maybe it just remains on the map.
@@pineconey I remember finding one cocooned poacher at a spider cave and for some reason I couldn't free him. He spent the whole fight trash talking me using the default poacher fight lines. Somebody's mother didn't teach their kid that being polite when you need help is the smart thing;).
1. Remember to use Revelio on your broom. It actually reveals map locations on the World Map, which is SUCH a timesaver. Basically, whenever you get to a section of the map that looks kinda sparse for locations, fire it up.
2. Potions are MEANT to be stacked up. Use Disillusionment to go stealth, and if you get close to getting caught, pop an Invis potion to reset the NPCs that are flagging you. For larger combats, use a combo of Endurus, Maxima, and Focus potions. Focus potions re-energize as you sling spells, so as long you keep firing to some degree, your cast times are MUCH shorter and your Focus pots last through the combat.
3. Talents: Aside from the stealth tree, DEFINITELY get your talents for speeding up spell cooldowns as soon as you can. Combined with using a Focus Potion, you're basically on Full Send in a fight. You could just solo the entire squad of Death Eaters in Order of the Phoenix.
4. TRAITS- Screwed up on this one for a while. There's a specific one you *really* want for combat, Concentration. It buffs ALL of your damage spells, by a LOT on Con III. Like, sweet Jesus, I didn't get it til I stacked them on my gear, and was just ending crowds of enemies at a go. Basic Incendio started taking out Inferi by itself, rather than just opening them up to damage.
5. Spell Combos: Confrigo>Glacius>Diffindo>Depulso is an insanely solid combo, especially on upgrade, and fun to use. You by no means need any of the Unforgiveable curses.
6. Bandits Camps refill with Wizards and Goblins, which is important as it helps push more points into your collections for Combat. That means more Dueling, as well as more takedowns for needed challenge enemies.
Pro tip: The seasons change based on the main quests completed! So if you want to avoid winter, be careful as you progress. The game is really pretty in Autumn so that's the best time to finish all the side quests while you still have some main stories to complete as incentive :)
Why would anyone want to avoid winter? It’s probably one of the most beautiful seasons in the game, especially once Hogwarts has its Christmas decorations up
Hey I'm in winter now, roughly level 30. Without spoiling as much as possible, do you know what season the game is in its final state? Like when you've completed the main quest is it summer again or spring? Or does it stay winter for the rest of the story? I would really hate that. I haven't done many of the broom sidequests and now I'm beating myself up because I don't want to do them when everything is dead and frozen over.

It's really the only bonus lol - I have a hard time enjoying a game once all the main quests are done so I'm legit min-maxing specific quests to get the most out of the progression and it's pretty amazing so far. First playthrough I didn't even notice the seasons until Winter came lol

Also, you can have every potion activated at once, so you can just pop an invisibility potion, then every other one to become invincible, dealing massive damage and taking out shields instantly, with practically no cooldown on your spells as a thundercloud smites all your enemies for you. Add in the cabbages and tentaculas, and your enemies will just melt before you. I was struggling a bit with a massive spider boss, but then i just popped everything i had, and the fight was over in 10 seconds. I barely even had to lift a finger. And you can repeat this 12 times with a full inventory, letting you beat anything in the game with ease.
I like that talent points are limited, it gives replay value to the game and gives you an opportunity to try different 'builds'. My first character went 'Hufflepuff' as I envisioned her more of an alchemist and being a dark wizard really doesnt fit her good two shoes vibe. However, I'd love to play the game again as a Slytherin and go full on Dark Wizard for that character.
I think the issue is that the spells get trickled out you might rely on a dud spell early on because your options aren't great early and spec into it to make it better, but it is just dead weight now. I have a few talents I wouldn't pick again.
I would have preferred for us to get about half the talent points and for there to be an ability to respec somewhere in Hogwarts so you could take on more specialised roles. My first character was Slytherin and I went down the path of dark magic and took all 10 dark arts but I'd probably not take a few of them knowing what I know now. Like Imperio Mastery, it is weak and it is fairly easy for you to curse everyone. Curse Sapper sounds useful in theory but doesn't do enough in reality. I sm not sure if Blood Curse does enough either so you could thin down going from 10 down to 7 but you don't really know what is good or bad until you have already committed to it permanently and I probably wont play another dark arts character so all there is just regret at some choices.
i mean the fact that there are house exclusive quests adds replay value, u dont need any more than that, id rather have either the ability to respec or to be able to be over powered and be able to unlock them all in one playthrough
@@vimzim8576 With the right combo and talents, even the spells you think are duds can be pretty powerful. With the talent upgrades you can Leviosa a group of enemies, Accio to bring them in close then Incendio the group. It doesn't work with every mob as some can't be Levios'd but it works well for an initial sneak attack against, poachers, goblins and wolves.
Thanks for the vid. My play style is to do all quests, explore, take the main quest line slowly, and get 80-100 hours in rather than burn it up in 20-30, but it's always good to know some tips to make things fall into place better.
i am the same but u do want to fast track quests at least in the early game so u can 1 unlock spells, 2 unlock the talents upgrades and 3 unlock broom flight which makes doing all of what u want to do a hell of allot easier.

I literally have been doing nothing but exploring every bit of hogwarts and around the general area for merlin trials and field guides. I'm at 87% with field studies and 30% with quests and challenges lolol.ive played nothing but elden ring and for honor these past year, so I just walk into the middle of twenty or so enemies and parry until they submit lol.
@@foxgeist3129 When you're ready for another, I highly recommend Days Gone (if you like the Pacific Northwest and post-apocalypse scenarios).
While you can't determine which trait you are going to get from the ornate chest in bandit camps, you can use the time turner (save scumming) to get another "first" look in the chest. Your level also has some determination (couldn't tell you specifics other than I see more Tier III traits at higher levels, even though I don't have the Tier I or II of that trait). Luckily it doesn't take a terribly long time to load the game, so saving and reloading for better traits doesn't waste too much time.
Also remember that you can't slot a Tier II or III into a Superb piece of gear (the blue gear). Superb gear (blue) have a Trait Slot Level 1, Extraordinary gear (purple) have a Trait Slot Level 2 and, finally, Legendary gear (orange/gold) have a Trait Slot Level 3.
Keep it up, really enjoy your content. My favorite part of the game is to have all the unlock spells upgraded that way I can unlock any door.
thankfully for the talent tree you just gotta decide what 12 talents you feel good avoiding. which is easier to decide than what talents to get and what order to do that in >_
I strongly recommend use Save/Load everything you come upon a item/money chest bc the game tends to load more glasses/scarfs!! Recommend same for wand handle chests
There are some missions that require stealth and it is well worth dropping a couple talent points into it, save you a headache later.

Thank you for putting this together-I finally received my game for PS4 & have been having a blast. This really helped point me in the right direction.
Pro tip: don't waste money on the rematerializing station or whatever it's called. Moonstone is everywhere, just collect it as you go in the beginning of the game and you'll never even approach deficiency.
The accio + incendio combo is quite lethal imo, it’s good to get in the habit of using it since it will bail you out of some messy situations when timed well.
It’s really more about play style than anything else. The short range just kept throwing me off

I gotta play through the game again to get to the headmaster room again. There's only one time you can be there and you cannot get 100% without the things in there
why not use Incendio? it is extremely useful with that skill despite its close range for taking out groups of enemies after pulling them in with the Accio spell and its upgrade that draws in multiple enemies that are close together
He didn't say it was a bad or useless spell, he just doesn't use it given his playstyle.

I kept doing all the main quests and all the side quests up until the second meeting and trials with Prof. Fig and Sebastian Sallows "Crucio" side quest, where I then just started grinding until my character reaches level 40 (I'm currently at 34 and with 100 hours in for my first week of play). Anyway, everyone plays differently, but as long as we are having fun, is all that matters. This game is now in the "Elite" group of my top 10 games of all time, in fact, it's my number 3 game of all-time at the moment. I love and I'm addicted to this game, even though it still needs a few patches to fix all those small glitches and bugs, like not being able to pick up certain items due to not having a prompt to do so, getting rid of those yellow glowing chests revealed by "Revelio" once the chests have been open and having unlimited pings with Revelio in certain areas, because in some areas they have a cool down. Those are just a few examples, but there are a few others as well, mostly minor. Oh and,... "Revelio" is by far, my most used spell. Well, it's back to Hogwarts for me... Game on everyone! 😎
P.S. I avoid opening most chests until I reach level 40, because all gear levels with the player's level.

Made almost all of the "mistakes" and they didn't feel like mistakes at all! Honestly, my advice to you is, whenever a main quest opens up, do all the side missions that also become available, they are tailored for your level and spells that you have already acquired! Not to mention that they make you explore the world... don't do crazy invading loyalists' settlements as many side missions you'll make you go there, so, unless you'll want to be doing twice the job, don't bother! I'm playing normal difficulty, 60+ in, and have 91% of overall progress... I explored the map as it presented itself, and I felt that was the best way not to feel burnt out, believe me, it's huuuge! So, take your time! Do the missions as they appear, otherwise, you'll miss out on some great stories and later you'll be stuck with a bunch of side content
6:42 your mistaken there stupor can be cast when ever protego is used not only on a perfect protego and altho stupor doesnt break shields on hard difficulty, a perfect protego does. So you can break every shield with just good timing on protego on hard and when locking on to the enemy casting or keeping the attacking enemy with the white outline you can break their shield and stun them for a while just with a perfect protego
Right, and we are still valid in saying Stupify cant break shields on hard lol. Relying on Perfect protego for most players is not gonna work out
The one thing I didn't realize was you have to go to menu and claim your merlin trial prizes. I didn't get a lot of stuff because I thought it would show up automatically when you were done with the correct number of tasks.
A few of us all started on hard and have been learning. You said "get good" and I laughed way too hard 🤣

I've sort of commited to not using the dark arts/curses if I can avoid it, despite learning the unforgivables as a Ravenclaw ( knowledge is knowledge after all) I really like the idea of my first character knowing how to do the unforgivibles, but having the wisdom to only use them as a last resort. I'll be having a surplus of talent points.
Same! Although now I'm on bandit camps spree and throwing an AK at one of them in front of the rest makes them so scared of you they barely do anything after that 😂 Seeing that fear has opened some dark parts of my personality:D
Also, Dark Magic talents don't all apply to Unforgivables. Actually, the ones I use add a curse to such things as Expeliarmus and cursed opponents get more damage.
Something that I found out recently, if you're REALLY desperate for moonstones, you can get a few of them from each of the vivariums when you unlock them.
They will regenerate over time also
Also, each vivarium has different materials growing in them. Not a lot but they add up.
You can also buy a spell craft that produces moonstones
I like to travel on foot and there are plenty of moonstones out in the wild, and yes the moonstones regenerate in the vivariums each game day
Pro tip: you don’t actually have to clear out bandit camps. You can just fly right to the chest, open it and fly out lol

I left clearing the camps for the end game (mainly bc I'm old and I like stories in games and not looting sprees) and now fighting these losers feels so cool when I'm so OP :D
the swift talent reminded me of bloodborne when i first used it, so of course i made a whole character around fighting like a hoonter, which means using swift to get right up in enemies faces, use a combo, a few basic casts and a lot of incendio
I have all vendors memorised and ssell them items that are choking my inventory and you can sell your clothes items to ANY vendor even if they only sell potions or ingredients. Don't throw away unless you are in a Goblin mine for instance.
Also as for galleons. I've sold beasts and gear and built up quite a large sum. I haven't needed to buy anything for quite some time. But keep building it up just in case.
I had regrets for upgrading incendio, but it’s useful when you’re surrounded by those creatures that you have to hit with fire before they can get damaged.
That’s really the only scenario I’ve found it useful too. I still regret the point, but it definitely has viability when dealing with Infiri
Spiders also are very vulnerable to fire, and they have a bad habit of swarming. When your confringo is on cool down, it is nice to still have a way to move everyone back a step and light 'em on fire. You still get quite a few talents to pick from, so they aren't all going to be winners.
I confess to loving using stealth. The dark arts skills seemed less useful than the core ones for me.
If you progress your unforgivable curses to Avada Kedavra then dark arts tree becomes one of the most overpowered.

Level 38 and I'm not using the unforgettables so I have a lot of spear points that I just put into the perks I might use and not the ones I won't use lol.
I learned about the auto save bug issue the hard way! I fell off a ledge and died, the game never loaded the next screen so I closed the game. Opened it back up and saw I lost the past 3.5hrs of work.
I'd say you need the incendio upgrade for fighting large groups of INferi. They can't be harmed unless you set them on fire first and if youre in the battle arena or an Inferi lair then having both confringo and incendio can help a lot. Also, you only have 3 spells that do cast damge with no set up, and that's one of them. Sure Depulso kind of does as well as decendo, but those take set up spells.
Spiders too, they are very weak to fire.
Incendio (when upgraded) is great for when you are getting surrounded and need a good AOE damage attack.
Same goes for Protego/Depulso upgrade. The shockwave it causes around you is great way to deal with goblins and mongrels. Overall I would say most if not all talents are great and enhance you a lot.
i ironically was reading a reddit post about the accio group talent and the incendio talent trap. they went on and on about how incendio was the trap part. when in reality it was the accio part since AOE for spiders and inferni is EXACTLY why the incendio talent point isnt a waste. extremely useful niche isnt a waste. it is shoehorning something together and calling it essential that is the waste.
now dont get me wrong but the accio groups of mobs can be fun, but for a large part isnt practical >_< mobs eventually start actively spreading out making the talent activation very inconsistent, or they literally say "you activated my trap card" as they ferociously turn into melee monsters once you accio them close.
This game can be very overwhelming and intimidating with everything thats in it.....but...having a blast so far.
Somehow got the diffindo III trait super early so all of my gear is stacked with it. My diffindos are doing 2k+ damage not critical
Something I didn't know until I watched your video...that you can collect stuff on your broom by flying low.
Another thing I wish I had known is that if I sneak everywhere and don't fight, my ancient magic doesn't recharge.
I'm likely going to use combat plants for a few reasons: I like Herbology, Garlick is cute and I'll likely say Green Star while summoning them.

@@Olimar92 i know right, my personal character (i stream the game) is a Hufflepuff and they are known for Herbology so i am really looking forward to using them in my personal playthrough and maybe even in my streaming playthrough at some point since he is evil and it seems pre evil to sick a bunch of deadly plants on opponents XD.

My fave is the cabbage lol the reactions from the goblins are hilarious! I reocmmend using it and just watching as the cabbage butchers all of them and one of them says, "I will not be taken down by a vegetable!" Or somewhere along those lines 🤣

Jesus I am clearly playing this wrong. Level 19...no room of requirements...no broom, fuck all spells. Having fun exploring and getting the shit kicked out of me because my spell list sucks.
I know...do main quests but...I get distracted a lot and don't follow guides because...it's my game not your game. I also have tons of money, tons of materials and recipes and I HATE SPIDERS!.
Oh, no talents either...not one. If they had a talent called "Dig own grave" I would invest in that because I passed my OWL's in that.
I know...playing it wrong but...don't care, having fun.
I was level 20 before I even started the quest to unlock all those locks. It just seemed as I kept going out in the world I'd come to a hamlet and do all of quests there including Merlin's trials or follow the pretty butterflies. Now I'm 23rd level and got level 3 of unlock and I still haven't even gotten my mount. In no hurry to finish the main quest. Still working out my little room in Hogwarts and just came across the dark arts combat zone too but my 1st foray there went badly because I had zero health pots. But it's a good game but flying still needs work. There's no way to look around you while on your broom, by that, no looking up and down. Hopefully, a future patch may clean that up a bit. It sure degrades a key experience in the game and one that will need loads of work once they add quidditch because flying sucks the way it is. I find myself running around more than using my broom except when I want to get somewhere new or gain entrance to an area that requires a broom. They definitely created a great world for future DLCs.
Okay... so you give us a bunch of tips and tricks... but what I am looking for is a prescribed order to do this stuff in. Isn't there a logical progression or critical path that will give us the biggest bang for the buck, so to speak? What to do first, second, third... and the reasons why. Now THAT is an upload I would watch.... and sort of discuss. It would be cool to see a discussion about how to prioritize this stuff.

Fast travel I sometimes do. But, I am more of a site seeing person so I walk, run, and fly. I loot as I go. The game is like any mmorpg and survival game to me. I like to fight as well.
I got stuck next to a building in Hogsmead. I just used the fast travel instead of reloading a past save. Then I fast traveled back.
Swift is currently bugged (it better be a bug). If you try using it while fighting a troll, you can watch the troll 'slide' to you when you use the swift dodge, and hit you with the second swing of their combo. Just a FYI for those that think there is something wrong, there is. LOL
Yeah I thought I was nuts the first time it happened. Camera was pointed away while I dodged. I thought it was teleporting to me. 🤣

@@cloneboss4295 oh, does that make it not a bug? Or they wont slide again? Still a bug, and I've seen them slide more than once. The whole point of getting the talent is to get further away, to avoid the hit. It doesn't work as intended and if we are going to suggest that people choose this talent, we should tell them that right now it is sometimes broken.
My most important tips are:
1. Pay attention to the combat challenge every time you go into combat. Not only will you get bonus exp, but it will count towards 100% completion.
2. Never _ever_ buy gear. Only use what you get from chests.

some of the people in the world will give you things in return for something. For example, In the swamp north of hogsmeade there's a small wooden house with a guy in it. (you cant miss it because there's a floo powder station there). He will give you a thunderbrew potion and invisible potion in return for a basic potion you get in the beginning(forgot which kind). Anyways, you need to use these two potions for the 2nd assignment for professor sharp. There are many people like this so keep all of your stuff!
Where does the Phoenix robe/cloak come from in the beginning on the video?
Hufflepuff secret robe, there is one for each house, and to unlock the one for your house you have to complete the 16 flying keys lockbox thingies you can find all around Hogwart. Then you can unlock the chest in the common room

Steamrolling bandits is also a good way to make some gold if you don't mind fighting for it.
I would never describe this game as “all just thrown at you”. It’s far less sandboxy than games like Fallout, for example. There’s a pretty tight path they want you to go on as far as which quests to do next. You can’t even discover some of them until until you’ve passed other ones.

I dont clear bandit camps, i ride my broom in ignore the guys casting spells at me grab the chest and fly away again lol
Fisrt thing to do is progress the main story until you get the Alohomora quest and complete it, then you can explore
There are a few things that they should fix
1: when you get to the 50 hogwarts pages, 25 hogsmead pages, and 16 world pages you can't level up from the remaining pages
2: you can only reach level 40 in game what about the savvy spender achievement in Xbox One you need at least 35 to get through the stealth, core,spell, and dark arts trees in that skill tree section
3: the voices of the main character I think they should use the player's voice and have the character be a transfer student from their player's location like I am from the USA and I should be a transfer student from ilvermorny
4: what if someone wants to play as a tomboy student if they choose a female student but they want to wear pants the only option to to choose a male student I mean why can't the girl student wear pants
5: why can't the main student sit down of course they sit down in class and they sit when talking to nattie but they can't even sit to have a meal or to meet their fellow classmates
6: last but not least why isn't our name mentioned not even once as a first timer hogwarts student I would love to be mentioned in game
Question: I have a few field guides and collectibles to get. Still got a few side quests left. I have the House Cup mission available. If I do the house cup mission, can I still play to complete with other quests and collectables, or will I have to start a new game?
Hey just so everybody knows when you do the Bandit Camp you can specifically get the trait that you want all you have to do is right before you open the chests is manually save your game and then open the chest if you don't get the one you want exit and then reload the save that you did right before you opened it and try again the trait is always randomized
I love the side quests. I have over 80 hours already.
I disagree about Incendio. Incendio becomes one of the hardest hitting attack spells in the the game if you spec into it and combine it with and spec into Accio. You can increase this power by stacking Tier III Incendio clothing enchantments. You can properly turn Accio/Incendio into a one shot for anything save maybe a troll or mini-boss. When paired with another high damage spell combo on your bar, like Glacius/Diffindo, you can become a killing machine. With clothing enchantments you can easily get Incendio damage above 5k and I've seen it has high as 8k on a stunned troll combined with a Glacius. Incendio/Accio is an OP build that I'd put above even a fully specced Dark Arts Avada Kedavra multi-kill build.

I had plenty of coin the amount of gear you get is insane and 9 times out of 10 your going to fill that up in every big mission. Sale it off if it's not better than what you have. If you want to beat hard battles the first time you can carry 25 health potions. Also use the talent points when you see a talent that increases the effectiveness of a health potion.
You are wrong I believe about the Merlin trials. I'm currently at 4 out of 6 after completing the first set of 2 and I still can only hold 20 gear pieces

32 hours into the game and I don’t think I’ve ever used a potion or plant in any combat besides being forced to by story or to complete a dueling challenge.
I'm waiting for the PC performance patch if there even is one coming soon. Constant frame drops and stuttering make it unplayable. Really like the game but it needs a fix ASAP.

I say in the first minute the point of this video is not about clearing content as fast as possible…
When i first heard about the importance of growing your own plants to brew your potions at first i thought it would be an intresting thing and it totally fits in this world. However while hunting for crafting materials are generally very annoying in most games, here i honestly think they went abit overboard in the opposite direction. Once u have the first small version of the room of requirement unlocked u can start to grow and brew but imo u get to many plants from each harvest that after just 2-3 harvests u have more plants then u know what to do with. U could ofc turn all of it into potions but then u end up with a massive oversupply of each potion type. Potion effects are powerful if u spec into them but with such a massive oversupply (excluding wiggenweld) your starting to turn into a Witcher 3 Alchemy build and just downing potions all the time. It might not be that bad at first when u only have the 1 planter/brewer per table, but the moment u buy the 3 slot planter/brewer u will instantly have more plants then u know what to do with. The rescued beast section on the other hand i think was very well balanced and u can manuelly adjust how mutch of each animals resource u can get when u visit them by simply adding/removing beasts that u need more/less of.
I prefer having more of the ingredients, then less. Sometimes when I got too cocky in a fight and was not careful I would have to down up to5 or more potions and if you go on "expedition" you can be down to zero potions in few minutes. So knowing I can just pop into RoR and go to crafting potions and not having to wait for plants to grow

Incindio is useful in certain circumstances, but once you unlock confringo, incindio becomes pretty much a useless spell. Also for making galleons you can capture and sale magical beasts at the magical beasts shop (Peck and Groom is the name I believe, located in the northern part of Hogsmeade).

Can't agree on this one chief. One is a long range spell, and the other is a short range aoe (when upgraded). Far from useless. Especially if you're needing another fire option while Confringo is on cool down. 🤷🏿♂️

the hard difficulty felt like "normal" to me :/ i want a bigger challenge, last boss in the game was waaay too easy.... Just ancient magic, expelliarmus with curse, glacio, diffindo, and that 3 times over and he died...
Incendio Mastery paired with Accio & Crucio Mastery with Blood Curse is actually really powerful. Confringo and Bombarda are my go-to power spells but Accio multiple enemies, Crucio one of them with Crucio Mastery so they all get cursed, use Insendio with its ring of fire it'll hit them all for a lot of damage as well as doing extra damage from Blood Curse hurting all cursed enemies. Incendio Mastery on its own is admittedly dogshit, but paired with other talents it's potentially one of the most powerful upgrades in the game.
