This is a gem!! It' is a treat to hear these guys playing togrether like this. All the biographies and documentries focus on the chaos and conflict. But this shows us why they stayed together and made great albums. Love it!!!!

After being a hardcore fan it's so different now to be a fan then when I first started. I immediately lived them and seen them quick for who they are. I thought the 5 disc box with the content aimed not to sell to the masses but to the hardcore fans. Cause there is a huge difference between hardcore fan and loving The Doors, well in 1997 I thought that was beyond epic and listened incessantly to those and American Prayer. Now that I'm pretty close to seeing most everything out there, I love seriously more than anything was the peculiar relationship they had with Paul Rothschild. I had no idea the role he played and how he was viewed, differently views and the perfectionist he was.
Like if they are doing a take and Rothschild says normal it's good, it likely was the best take there ever was gonna be and he thought he really extracted all the juice from The Doors. The documentary of making the lady album was to me epic and it was so much dense stuff most would overlook. To me it was touching and literally made my eyes well up how seriously loyal Ray Manzerick really was. Like in Miami the roit concert everyone bailed on him, everyone except him. Then I think back just about every single interview or him throwing jabs at Oliver Stone's version of The Doors, cause it didn't represent the Doors and Morrison correctly. Then when he explained how Egyptians believe that as long as you say their name out loud, they still live on, and it ends with Ray saying the most touching thing, just how he said it, "I want to take the time to say, Jim Morrison." He could of said a million self serving things this or that, and all along he just wants his buddy Jim back.
Then there is a part where Jim quits and it goes to a recording of Ray begging Jim to give it 6 more months, and he just says something about staying in the game 6 months and Jim just cleverly drops that he don't like the game anymore. If your brain connects the lyrics to Hyacinth House, he just don't want any emotional attachment. It's so ambiguous on who he really is talking about and it's a deep thinker for any fan cause it's pretty much universally accepted, and I honestly believe that it was as he died when a friend of Pam and Jim's dealer dropped off some probably good heroin. I've had that in my life and any little mistake and you are dead. Jim maybe thinks it's like alcohol and hey I'll do this huge line and back then without Narcan you are a goner. She always pushed and the thing was getting him buried in France as a poet in the famous cemetery. If there was a overdose or any tag to OD or drugs the government would not let that happen so cops easy as day walk away and rather call you a junkie than find out how. No autopsy that says all. Anyone I love dies they want to know why. The world wanted to know, and the deep truth no one but God knows and I just rambling and I can go on and on as you will never, and I normally don't use never, but no band will ever blow me away likeThe Doors. They kind of made it harder for good stuff to get to me cause I of course compare anything to these guys and they will never die, never age. I'm sure there will be repeat generations of fans keeping this legend alive. Man I swear I was born in the wrong generation.
I'd happily in a heartbeat give up my life now, a very good one, money wise and career and lot, but I'd give up the technology and ways of now to be born during this generation. Man we gotta time travel eventually. How great would that be?

I think he was walking away from music. LA woman was his goodbye song. This dude was a good soul. He said he only became a singer to use it to become a poet. Like rich people are eccentric. Poor people are crazy. He was just going to his next life. What i find strange is how did his ass get into that famous place in a couple of days. To exhume a grave there would have to go through bishops and the archbishop. It makes you wonder. Dade county is not gonna look into his 6 month term. As a fellow florida born hard drnking irish guy. I dont see him going out other than he had a medical issue. I was 20 throwing up blackred blood from drinking gin for 3 days. So i stopped. I went to bud and tequila.
