Sue Burgess Maybe. I’ve see/read & heard enough to believe he had issues with fame & was even socially phobic! Why (other than it was the Hippies-n-Psychedelic Drugs Days) do you think he did drugs, although alcohol was his real ‘demon.’?? “It’s better to burn-out, than fade away.” Jim was the result of a tragic [Shakespearian! ...& Jim liked introspection & soliloquy , added to his Nietzsche, Foucault & Philosophy!] confluence of Free Spiritedness, Lost & EVER Searching Persona and Never Enough Highs. In Paris, he began to actually look better, less ‘Physically Sculpted’ & more Rounded [inwardly & outwardly], yet his inner organs just couldn’t take the strain he’d subjected himself to. I think, finally, Jim simply had to...pay the piper, so to speak. Too bad, because he WAS Brilliant at what he did...
That's just false. Pure drugs exist today in almost the same capacity they did then. There are more fake compounds today, but that doesn't mean the real ones stopped being produced. And "pure" acid makes one just as incoherent as "impure" acid. It's all about the dosage.
And, listen...he was deep and thoughtful. He sounds as he could just rant on and on for hours. I feel like he never really cared what others thought, but he definitively wanted to be heard and listened to.
Ever since I was a teenager, I had a connection with the doors music , like when I listened to it , it takes me to another level of emotion understanding worldly/ soul deep, hard to explain There is something about Jim, his thoughts, voice and writing that I truly resonate with , love love the doors. ♡♡♡
Jim Morrison, who was a deep, philosophical thinker, was TOTALLY acting and being satirical with his "I'm so 'out of it'" schtick. He knew exactly what was going on, and he had a brilliant mind. What a precious, precious soul he was ....
The tragedy is that most people have chosen money over rock and roll. The raw libido and authenticity from this time is my spiritual home. Imagine if we all just completely shook free from corporatism.
Wonder Man I read where morrison would walk down the streets of amsterdam and FREELY without question openly accept any and all drugs and whatever the fuck else was given, handed to him by complete total strangers, dutch, and whoever the fuck else, and take what was just given him ON THE SPOT proves the guy just didnt care
Wonder Man so maybe the guy was just one big asshole, playing everybody, that was good when patricia kenealy found out the truth about that jim's parents and sister were alive, that pissed him off good, exposed his little 'trying to be cool routine' saying he doesn't remember being born, one of his blackouts or some shit, lies all the time, makes light of serious things, you reap what you sow
Jim Morrison was super brilliant, and known to be. He read incessantly, had stacks of books all over his small apartment. He loved Proust, Byron, Rimbaud, and the "Beat" writers, Kerouac, Ginsberg and Burroughs, among others. He was a poet, and could quote many book's and Author name by one reading one sentence from the book. I read about him when I was a teenager, and I read many of the authors he read because of that. He was really an interesting young man, and yes, absolutely beautiful too. He wasn't always beautiful, he was a chubby kid, and I think that's probably why he seemed to not take the rock star thing so seriously (?) He was also really in to history, and greatly admired Alexander The Great, who he had his hair cut in a style to replicate. I love The Doors, just beautiful music.
I don't know where he's chubby, and I've seen many photos of his early life. But, he was deemed difficult early on, in school especially, he made trouble there, and I don't know if he was popular due to it. He was a weirdo but learned enough body language to be desirable to others so that he could get away with it. I think also as the oldest child he took it the hardest from his strict, traditionalist parents, but his siblings were different, and his sister says she thought he was quite fun. I guess he provided some kind of relief to his siblings from a traditional boxed, yet always moving household. I mean, I don't know whether he was ever insecure about his looks, as his first serious relationship was with a beauty queen, who herself was quite wanted I can imagine.
"...someone not quite at home, not quite relaxed, aware of a lot of things, but not quite sure about anything. I'd like to do one... just feeling of being totally at home." - that hits hard, now I know why I feel this connection with The Doors
Jim could be a real idiot when he wanted to be, but man, he was so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Just like Hendrix, his cool factor was off the scale, in a way todays rock stars just don't possess. Nobody has that effortless charisma any more!

This was Rock N Roll this was the youth this was the truth.... God Bless the world finds this again and never lets go.... Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek are some of the wisest people i have ever gotten the honor to listen to. A Whole time and culture when people were really starting to figure out and pursue the true meaning of life and to glorify all things greater than ourselves. A True pursuit chasing all the things that really matter within the short time here of this life on earth. This was real. This Is Rock N Roll....

Tim Nolan simply put a men and true, I agree, the dude could be doing who knows what, maybe one or more people know, or maybe nobody knows, I hope if he is alive and knowing him, he's incredibly enjoyed the years of his life seeing what this world's become since his day and age, I hope he's in love right now, sittin down with his wife and kids, reading to them :) and i hope he leaves instructions on the REAL him for him when he does pass, or if he does have a family, he shouldn't or do it in secret for just certain people, just so it NEVER gets out publicly, the public sucks, the public is a murdering greedy trampling MOB.......
he was stoned majority of the time I believe, you can just tell, I hope wherever he is Jesus, by God's grace, found him-saved him. People always say 'I found Jesus' thats wrong, he finds YOU. Man is depraved evil wicked has no will at all to choose God and doesn't want to and wouldnt even if he were able to, so God HAS to intervene himself in men's-mankind's lives personally, or no one would ever be saved-born again.......
... can you imagine being down the front somewhere (with hindsight, or course) at one of their early gigs? Would have been incredible ... actually, 'incredible' doesn't quite cut it.
I do admire a damn fine set of lips and while I agree Vedder has a full and fine set....Morrison's were crafted by the gods.... I could look at him all day quite frankly....😍

Unfair? I hear you you want to lay in his arms, but unfair? I don't know about that word under the context. Entitled much! Animals being kept in filthy cages and prisons' metal floors all their life and then scalded into water and slaughtered because people somehow believe they share the same anatomy with a lion, that's unfair. We humans have it easy. Hardly anything unfair about being a human. Desire is the antidote to happiness/peace.
@@justdev8965 Living a life out in an era you can't, and don't want to, relate to... feels pretty unfair. No one else has to understand how shitty that can be, I'm doing just fine.
I always love to listen interviews, but Jim Morrison is up there with my favorites. He's always do profound, and yet so sincere, and so intelligent with how he articulates his ideas. I could listen to him or Kurt Cobain, who had the same weird honesty and deep ideas, until the day I died. Rip Jim, Kurt, Lennon, Lenin, and everyone in-between!
It's sad to hear in Jim Morrison's statement about how the Doors' music felt to him the alienation of his childhood: "The mood I get … is a heavy, sort of gloomy feeling … Like of someone not quite at home, not quite relaxed … aware of a lot of things but not quite sure of anything. I’d like to do one [song] of just ... feeling totally at home". His father was a navy admiral and political conservative and it seems he and Jim did not get along. I recall reading somewhere that Jim felt smothered by the austere environment he grew up in; much of the passion in his music and his addictive, self-destructive path leading to a young death can be explained by his reaction to the childhood trauma of alienation and anxiety.

Amelia K. I love Jim but he was a total narcissist.
Too bad, because he WAS Brilliant at what he did...
must be hard to do interviews on acid.
EnigmaOnThe5th he is drunk, his pupils are small, so is not acid.
belsinhaeu
acid and drugs were so much pure then. they just made you look smarter
That's just false. Pure drugs exist today in almost the same capacity they did then. There are more fake compounds today, but that doesn't mean the real ones stopped being produced. And "pure" acid makes one just as incoherent as "impure" acid. It's all about the dosage.
Must be hard to be among humans when you’re Jim Morrison.
Heroin.
Jim couldn't get old ...his colors were too bright,.he was too good for this Earth
Robby always seemed to be just quietly floating along with it. I appreciate that man so much.
He had a gorgeous smile. 🙌❤ Rest in peace Jim💋
I could just look at Jim forever.
And, listen...he was deep and thoughtful. He sounds as he could just rant on and on for hours. I feel like he never really cared what others thought, but he definitively wanted to be heard and listened to.

-Jim

You just gotta love him

You mean "Uh Jim"?
Cool gamer literally me😭
Jim was too beautiful for this world.
Ever since I was a teenager, I had a connection with the doors music , like when I listened to it , it takes me to another level of emotion understanding worldly/ soul deep, hard to explain
There is something about Jim, his thoughts, voice and writing that I truly resonate with , love love the doors.
♡♡♡
Jim makes more sense when he's stoned than anybody today.
Well said
LOL!
He was indeed beautiful.. RIP gone way too soon.
I don't care what anyone says, Jim was a true artist and poet the world will never see the likes of him again. Live on.....
The chemistry and respect Jim and Ray have for each other, particularly in their business, is exceptional and fun to watch.
Ray was always giving off vibes that he was in love with Jim.
Jim Morrison, who was a deep, philosophical thinker, was TOTALLY acting and being satirical with his "I'm so 'out of it'" schtick. He knew exactly what was going on, and he had a brilliant mind. What a precious, precious soul he was ....
Amy Luther Yeah, satire killed him at 27
@@psilocypher LOL !!
It’s called being on DRUGS dude. Relax
Truth. Jim did get out of control sometimes, though.
It's a fine line, trying to open the eyes of the sleeping blind.
The tragedy is that most people have chosen money over rock and roll. The raw libido and authenticity from this time is my spiritual home. Imagine if we all just completely shook free from corporatism.
@@Canadoslovakia1 thanks for clarifying
jim's smile says it all
how can you take morrison seriously when he's always fucked up on something
@@wonderman8174 you gonna cry?
Its rare to see he smile
Ray didn't wanna say he was 29 lol
Age: 29 Looks: 39 lol
And Jim didn’t want to say his occupation and instead looked at the camera and smiled.
5:26 looked like Jim wanted to smile, almost breaking character.

He's high as hell right there
The acid was kicking in
That smile. . I could press repeat on that a million times a day...

OMG Jim was so beautiful.
Jim was so gorgeous 😍❤️
He was chubby for a while, but he was a cute kid with sweet face most of the time, if you look at his photos.
So hot and smart too ooh 😍 There is also a word for people who are mainly attracted to the mind. Beauty is nice but paired with intelligence is so 👌
@@anzhelicasuprun575he kind of looked like Billy Idol when he was a kid but as he got older his looks changed a lot.
@@AS-wj1duI prefer someone’s mind over their beauty. Beauty doesn’t last.

Jim could be a real idiot when he wanted to be, but man, he was so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Just like Hendrix, his cool factor was off the scale, in a way todays rock stars just don't possess. Nobody has that effortless charisma any more!
Both Sagittarius
@@elizabethmcleod246 According to Jim, apparently the most philosophical of all the signs! Personally, i'd argue in favour of Libra, and that's not just because i am one! 😉

Rock on Jim
We will continue to play ur music. The doors will forever live on
They where born a long time before my parents.
Still I'm the one listening to their music.
This Band as a whole is the definition of what the 60s were all about.... a conscious pursuit of the true existence and meaning of life, perception, a new reborn life outside of whats been set up for you....
Robbie And John were deep to. what an amazing band The Doors.
Never Let The "Man" Take It Again. Live Free.... Glorify God in all his Beauty, Light and good.
Favourite group. Love Strange Days and Waiting For The Sun. They are so unique and there has never been a group since. Rock, blues and jazz hybrid done well. Very talented!
The only band that l still listen to All the time 😊.
With Jim in front of the most 'humble ' ,unique, talented of all bands !!! ❤️ The Doors!!!
Densmore seemed the most sober of the bunch.
Densmore was picked on by the rest of the Doors...Jimbo especially enjoyed playing with his head...
TheIrishrogue68 densmore's alive, morrison may be D E A D.
Jim could be alive.
Jim morrison was a genius .
holy sweet acid jebus just check out those sideburns
I like when Jim was asked his occupation he gave a little slightly wicked smile,my man!!
The Doors……a synthesis of brains, sex appeal, and dysfunction. It’s unreal they put out 6 supercharged albums. Legends
I cant 't explain it but jim was just amazing, it would have been fantastic being able to live those years even just for a moment
... can you imagine being down the front somewhere (with hindsight, or course) at one of their early gigs? Would have been incredible ... actually, 'incredible' doesn't quite cut it.
I love Robby in this video piece. Walking in the airport with the shades. Awesome
That first smile at the beginning ❤
My favorite band of all time other groups of the era have been forgotten but not the Doors they are still relevant today.

Jim was a charismatic soul,
WOW the Doors...what a band. Recently got into them... Jim Morrison's lyrics are so dark and dreamlike... pure talent 😎
Jim Morrison had such a sexy mouth, beautiful lips. I try to find a male celebrity with sexier lips, but I just can't find one!
Eddie Vedders upper lip is sex. Also has amazing cheek bones
I do admire a damn fine set of lips and while I agree Vedder has a full and fine set....Morrison's were crafted by the gods.... I could look at him all day quite frankly....😍
Michael Pitt
I love his lips too. Finest pair I've ever seen on a man.
What about a young David Gilmour?
Jim had a calmness to his voice.
Jim was such a good looking man

"Do you want people to like you?"

I just want to lay in his arms and listen to him talk... life is so unfair.

Many happy returns Jim.They'll never be another you. Mr mojo risin.
