In this video will show you how to fix code P1289 on Ford Edge or Lincoln MKX. Code P1289 Cylinder Head Temp Sensor Circuit High Input is most likely caused by faulty temp sensor or disconnected coolant temperature sensor. Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX use the same engines in their vehicles and they are built on the same platform so the procedure will be the same to fix code P1289. We just had water pump replaced and I was getting this error code. Come to find out mechanic did not plug this back in. Plugged it in, cleared error and all seems to be good now. Really appreciate video as wife was already upset they had car for 2 full days. I did not want to give her more bad news.

I have a issue with a 08 Edge, its my sisters and I know it has issues like brake booster looking vacuum,lunging at stop and other issue. But the check engine light doesnt come on even though when the switch is on it shows it works. I hooked up scanner no codes it did say say 5 monitors N/A. Could the used car lot have fixed it to were it will come on at test(switch on) but not come on when its actually having problem? Thanks for any help or opinions.
