    Once again guys. Excellent work teaching us how to do the repairs.
    I purchased the Autel MK808BT and works very well.
    I used the power balance on it but was only received a misfire periodically. I wish you could take your time and teach us how to properly use mode 6 on it. Tried several runs with it hooked up but very erratic misfire. I’m sure I am doing it wrong.
    Keep up the great work guys.

    New plugs really need to be put on with the coils, others state not doing so could short out a coil... plus with all this work, and you are right there... spend 20 bucks and replace them

    Can someone help me find out the name of the wire at the 9:14 mark? I went to Autozone O’reillys and Napa and nobody knows the name or how I can get the part? Please help it ripped off when I took off the intake manifold.

      Plugs are designed in the harness to be shaped and run to only 1 spot. I’m a mechanic. The plugs each go to 1 spot. And the hoses go to only 1 spot as well.

    I have a question. I have p0353 .. I replaced coil and spark plugs and still misfire . I then checked ground cable continuity and power and traced the cable all the way back the ecm. The problem I’m having is it’s not pulsing . I tested the next coil over and it’s pulsing with a circuit tester and the a multimeter it’s fluctuating but for cylinder 3 it’s continuous 14 volts while key is one. I flippers coils to see if it was coil error on another cylinder and no. The problem keeps on cylinder 3. I checked if their was continuity or short from ground to power on that cylinder and no. As soon as I turn my key forward I get 14 volts to coil 3. I’m thinking maybe bad ecm? This is for a 2008 Ford Edge 3.5 limited

    • @jesustamez9047
      @jesustamez9047 2 роки тому +1

      It was 1 driver from coil 3. The ecm was the problem. If you don’t change your spark plugs the voltage increases to compensate the gas for timing and add heat on the rear side it’s just a matter of time. Very important change your spark plugs because it can mess up your shut .

      The ECM location was faulty on these models and mostly all ECM modules burn out or get damaged. When buying used one or replacing it then it needs to be reprogrammed by special place or a dealer and they program it to the vin # of your vehicle.
      Costing from $300 to $700 these issues were lesser on newer models because Ford changed the location for the ECM units inside interior under the passenger glove box...
      I went through 3 pairs of ignition coils over n over then kept misfires and learned that the PCM ECU goes bad from heat 😮
      Love my edge but won't be buying a Ford again for sure...

    Hello, I have a 2013 Ford Edge SEL 3.5 L v6. I have misfire on cylinder #5. I need your help identifying which is number 5. I see on the web that 1,2,3 are on the back then 4,5, and 6 are in the front Left to Right. I have also seen where it jumps from back to front 1 being back left then 2 below that one front left. Please help clarify.. Thank you

      If you have a code reader (they are less than a few bucks now) you can disconnect the wire to the center front one, and start the engine with code reader installed. It will say that coil #? is not working right. My 2006 Edge has bad coil for "D" and "E", and I have no idea, but will check in the morning. 6 Plugs and coils $69 on Amazon.

    I own a ford edge, '12 SEL ..been considering doing this, but my vehicle only has 80k miles!! no problems. my question is really, if you're changing coil packs, why not plugs too.? Plugs certainly get carbon, but I thought the coil packs were either good or bad?

    • @mxwoods3
      @mxwoods3 Рік тому +1

      If you do this, be VERY careful. It's easy to forget a plug or hose and if you do it can cause damage to your engine. If you are successful and DO get all of this off I HIGHLY recommend you replace the fuel injectors as well. Otherwise you could end up with the same problem and have to remove all of this all over again.

      @@mxwoods3 good advice. I have since found a super honest and reasonable mechanic.. probably just take it to him and have him with inspect or do the work ... I recently had him fix a brake issue... Soft peddle as a result of master cylinder going out and the hcu.... Got both done and bled all wheels etc.. just under 2k that included 700 for the hcu and another 2 hundred for the master.. drives like new again

      Okay, I may be able to help you. What's your question(s)?? BTW, I've installed several systems into my vehicles and I currently have a powerful system I installed in my bad ass aka head-turner ride. If interested: Taramps Bass 8K RMS, XS Power D3400 AGM battery, 390 amp JS Alternator, 2/0 "Big 4 Upgrade", 2/0 (00) OFC Certified Basshead power wire which is as big as 4/0 (0000) AWG wire (1/2" thick tinned copper) and 1/0 OFC power wire for my second mid-bass amp Skar M440D (door spkrs), Audio Control LC7i L.O.C., a $960 single 15" 10,000 Watt Skar DNR subwoofer 5K RMS, factory 8" touchscreen head unit, 4 Skar 5.25" spkrs, and other stuff I can't think of at the moment. Anyways, what amp and sub and head-unit?

      You can use a code reader, then disconnect one coil at a time, it will tell you what one is not working.

    Hi I like your tutorial they are very help since i like ford edge I recently change my 2008 to a 2011 with same 3.5 engine but this 2011 has given me a lot of trouble since I purchase it at an auction with a bad engine so i found out the water pump waas damge so I change it and the realize the timing chain was bad it had little power so then my mechanich decide it to change the timing chain and also the small ones with the sprockets so everything seem to work fine within a week but ,eamwhile it was leaking oil from the screws where the timing chain cover so I took it back and they fix it but then I was testing it and all of a sudden it shut off then I tried turning it on but it would just crank but not start so I had it checked and turns out it rip the belts 2 of them the small and big so i got that fix and also changed the crankshaft sear front because it was damage and now it turns out it cranks but doesnt stat so I had the mechanic check it and the sparkplugs have no spark so they chage the crankshaft position sensor and still remain the same any suggestions what can be bad or going wrong? i am running out of ideas
