WOW. What a great video, giving us a quick glimpse into Cassington bike night. Looks to be well worth combining this into a few days riding around the area, for those of us living north of Watford gap lol. Add the bonus of bumping into Dan as well. Fantastic seeing Mrs Flyer riding so confidently too, keep it up.
How have I never heard of this?? Looks like a great event and, as you say, an incredible variety of bikes with everyone enjoying the day/evening. Great to see Mrs Flyer out on her bike and looking confident 👍
What a truly fabulous event. You and Carole are so fortunate to have this practically on your doorstep (give or take an hours' ride). A great way to spend a lovely evening with like-minded people. Best wishes to you both.
Really enjoyed this one. Trouble with bike meets is I just want to buy more bikes. Great atmosphere and definitely one to go to. Glad you took the time to film it.
Rule of thumb for motorcycle ownership is N + 1. N being the current number of bikes you own. Looking in Andy's garage I think there is someone who lives by that rule.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Flyer. How lovely to see Carol out on the bike, she seems so confident now. That's one well attended event, I hope you had as much fun as it looked. Keep safe and have fun. :>)
Thanks for sharing Andy, living locally I go every year and it’s a great evening. If the weather is good you can expect to see way north of 5000 bikers and all made to feel very welcome by the villager’s. Most tend to arrive between 5 - 7 pm ish after work and go straight into the big bike park (village rec). Have a look at photographer ahead, you may see pictures of you and Mrs Flyer arriving in the village.
Wow that looked fantastic and so well organised. Can't believe I've never heard of it, Cassington is in my diary for next year. Great to see such a huge variety of all types of bike.
It's fantastic to see a beautiful sleepy Oxfordshire village welcoming all those bikers. And I bet there's very little to no trouble or litter left behind. Youngsters at Glastonbury take note!
I went to cassington for the first time this year and was blown away by the sheer number of bikes. I also owned (back in the day) a mighty Kawasaki Z1300. Of the many many bikes I have owned over 43 years the Z1300 still holds the number one spot in my affections....
I could walk around there for hours looking at bikes! I’m off at the end of August to the 1000 Bike Show in Johannesburg, a 3500km round trip from the Winelands , Western Cape…can’t wait! 🏍️💪🇿🇦🇬🇧
Looks like a great event and appreciate you showing us the sites. Good to see the Kawasaki 1300 six cylinder. I was very close in buying one of these new, but being a Honda guy I went with a 1982 CBX. I wish I had it today. Very impressive balance and road positioning from Mrs. Flyer.
Great upload both! What a fantastic bike meeting, it looks even bigger than The Waterman near Warwick did, back in the day. You're taking your life in your hands up hear, calling a Yam Yam a Brummie! 😉😂
@@TheMissendenFlyer 😂😂 I live about 30 minutes drive from the Black Country. A mate of mine went fishing in the canal and caught a whale! He threw it back as it didn't have any spokes!
I’d heard about the bike event but never realised it was so big. I’ll have to keep a look out and head down for a look. Great vid Andy thanks for sharing. I’m also from the Black Country and it’s amazing how many people think I’m a brummie 🤣
Glad you finally made it to Cassington. Sadly Due to work & no bike on the road I missed it this year, only the fourth time in 30 odd years! Normally get to catch up with old friends and chill out on the green watching the world go by..... The smile on Mrs Flyers face was wonderful!
Nice film. Never heard of Cassington Bike Night and I worked in Oxford for five months, mind you, it was a COVID lock-down so I don't suppose it was on the horizon. By coincidence I've been seeing a very similar Z1300 at my local bike meet at Ponderosa, near Llangollen. Statuesque bike. The Mrs was going well on her 125 - looked like she was trying to get away from you. If she buys a sports bike you know you're in trouble.
I’ve not been to Cassington since the early noughties. Back then it was a few hundred bikes on the high street. It looks like a massive event now! I really should go again!!!
One or two bikes there! By the look of it, Mrs Flyer will sail through her test. When I took my test in the 70s, it was difficult to avoid passing, IMO.
@@TheMissendenFlyer My riding test consisted of the local copper walk outside the station and ask me to kick start my XL250, he said that's a pass. I asked if he wanted me to actually ride, so he told me to do a U-turn then come back. I was then told to come inside and get my license as he had better things to do. Easy peasy!
I’ve never heard of that bike meet, very big . Carole did really well riding especially at that island complex . Bike park I wouldn’t like to try and find my bike in that lot , so many😊😊
It's a great event for sure; I only discovered it in recent years (probably because I live a couple of hours away!) but having been it's become a fixture in the diary for me 🙂 Great vid of the two of you out and about 🙂
That’s amazing. Great to see all those bikes. Carol looking like an experienced rider., needs to get her full licence now. I passed my Canadian bike road test last week. No reciprocal agreement with UK, 62 years old and was crapping myself. Funny thing here is you can ride any size bike as a learner, just need someone following in a car or bike who has a licence. I digress 😀
Great to see you reviewing a local bike event (which I had never heard of) lots of interesting bikes to see (loved the Z1300) half of the appeal of visiting events like these is wondering around looking at all the bikes on show, good to see Mrs Flyer out on her bike , she looked very confident indeed which surely means acquiring a full licence isn't far off , hope to see you covering more events like this in the future.
It's ok Carol, you can't expect a southerner to understand the difference between a Brummie and the Black Country... 😁 Talk about taking me back! - in the early '60's I used to ride Oxford's eastern bypass on the way to my military base. Looked like a great night there with all those bikes. 👍👍
Carol. Looking lovely as always. Rather than having to carry your bike jacket I use a cable lock through one if the arms and secure to handlebars. Bike meet looks fab.
Thoroughly enjoyed that video and was amazed at the attendance of so many bikers. If you ever get the opportunity to come to Portugal, check out the Faro motorcycle festival which is in its 42nd year and the biggest in Europe. It starts on the 18th of July for four days and is an exciting experience.
That looks like a great event, well marshalled too. Like you, I had heard of it, but never realised just how large of an event it was. Some beautiful bikes there, definitely something I would love to go to if the stars aligned...
Great video Andy and of course Carole too, something different looks almost as busy as the ABR great to see Mrs F showing more confidence on her bike, or though I did detect a little panic in her voice as she approached the grass, amazing control well done 👏.
That is one amazing bike night for sure! But is it the best! You should come up to East Kirkby airfield well over 4000 bikes and a Lancaster bomber doing a taxi run. It’s an amazing night. Keep up the good work!
Hi Guys good to see you out and about. Cassington was a favourite location when I was stationed at RAF Brize Norton just up the way. They used to have a bike meet every Thursday at the pub in the centre, which was always on the agenda, not sure if it still happens as I move back to Cheshire these days. Some great folks went there, you could learn more about vintage British bikes there than anywhere else. Oh and the pale blue Harley was actually a Road King but there you go..LOL.
Carol, your riding looks very good. You seem more than ready for your test. Cassington is great isn't it? The locals love us coming there as much as we do: it's a special night.
Really enjoyed the video as I haven't heard of this event, certainly a must for another year. Looks like its a well organised event. Good seeing Mrs Flyer riding. My partner is also learning to ride , she has a CB125F, done CBT and the theory test. Hoping to do the mods this year. She often asks how Mrs Flyer is doing. Nice work.

Great video. I've not been to Cassington but do go to Calne Bike Meet in Wiltshire. This also is an annual event that is all day, it takes over the whole village with thousands of bikes, stalls and music. It is a great event, this year on Saturday 27th July 2024.
Wow, absolutely brilliant, unfortunately I live somewhat 250 miles away in sunny Scarborough North Yorkshire coast, hopefully I’ll get my best mate to travel to Cassington (next year on his New Triumph speed 400,)near Oxford, great to see Carol on her Suzuki 125, Andy did you notice how many MPG the excellent Triumph Speed 400 was indicating? The reason I ask is that I was informed at the York Triumph bike centre that the Speed 400 can return upto 100 mpg! Not sure if that’s factual, but I bet it will be pretty close with it being a single cylinder bike, thanks very much Andy & Carol for an entertaining video 😊
I’ve been to Cassington Bike Night a couple of times (2022 last time), but found it so busy, I couldn’t really get a close look at some of the more interesting classics. But a fun evening out. Ludgershall is nearer (for you too), a little smaller (don’t tell anyone about it), and you can get closer to the bikes on display. Ludgershall is a couple of weeks after Cassington.
Looks like a great meeting Andy and well done to Carol who's looking like a very confident new rider. Noticed you lingering over the two GSX 1400s any chance you could do a item on them ?

Mrs Flyer wing from Brum. Nice I was born in Dudley. Watching this after seeing Mrs Flyer out on her new Kawasaki.

Don't know what I enjoyed more. The bike event or seeing the Mrs doing so well and enjoying it. 👍👍
Last time I went was 2019, and it was very impressive how well organised it was. Mrs Flyer is certainly riding with a lot of confidence now

Fascinating to look at. I live in the USA. Any similar event here (Sturgis/Daytona/Laconia, etc.) would be 90%+ Harley-Davidsons. What a great event.
