Looks like my theme song is no more! Had to trim it for this video so sorry about the blip!
Well that's a bummer. I'm going to miss it. Cory Mears
Hey rbp I have been a big fan of you for quite some time Ang broke my leg a while back in February and you helped me through my life's hardest time bug thanks to you, I lived. your layout is my favorite on youtube.
#cleantrainsarehappytrains
Im a homeless old dude in Australia. The passion and enthusiastic way you present your layout n Collection is most inspiring. I look forward to you vids bud. You put a smile on my Dial Bud Thank yoju.
As cool as modern trains are, I don’t think anything can beat the old school boxcars or just old freight trains in general.
I've loved this hobby since I first saw a display in my youth over 40 yrs ago. Thank you for keeping the fire alive!
Running em about half throttle. Mostly because I don't wanna lose my top-heavy engines when they whip through the O48 turnaround sections. Thanks for running the Hot Dog Challenger again! My son can't get enough of that. I wish they did that fun scheme in a LionMaster!
I miss the Lionmaster line. They made some cool stuff!
@@RBPTrains absolutely! It seems like they could fall under the Lionchief line if they wanted to though. Same shells, a few retoolings or updates, and their suite of control options would really make for some appealing engines in my opinion. Next time you're hanging with the Lionel guys, pitch the idea!
Six engine lash up with all your cars in tow. To hear the six hard working units thunder past is pure joy!
Chris your layout is awesome. Really like the shot of the complete layout.
It makes me happy you appreciate people who scratch build railway infrastructure because as luck would have it, I scratch build railway infrastructure myself!
Absolutely! It takes patience and talent to pull that off. I bet you make some cool stuff!
Tech tips with RBP sounds great. First episode idea "lionel cab 2 legacy remote for dummies". Plus how fast I like running my trains depends on the locomotive and cars I'm pulling. So it will very, but I will say whatching a large steam locomotive go fast around a layout just looks cool.
The Western Maryland Engine looks so sweet! I need on in S Scale!
Chris seeing those massive trains running fast brought back some wonderful Lionel childhood memories! Thanks!
Chris,A lot of our mth proto 1 engines must be run a little faster to flood the Trainboard with smoke. As we always say, where there is steam, there is there is smoke on the trainboard. well done, fun video Gary
It's a good day for me when RBP uploads! also in some videos I have seen a ATSF Dash 8 and I run my train fast most of the time because I only have postwar but I have 1 TMCC SD40T-2
True
The SD40T-2 is one of my favorite diesel engines. Thanks for watching!
@@RBPTrains what about the atsf dash 8 have you made a video on it yet?
You have to love any video with both the RBP Katy and the Crayola car both in the same video. Love it !!!!!!
Hello Chris What a Beautiful machines you have running around,I`m amazed every time, Like the BigBoy and the even more of those types and the Chanceler I`m always fascinated by your job I`ve known you for about a little over a year now but you never cease to amaze me Beautiful chris, If I lived in your area i would come and a have a look, But yes Belgium and Canada is far away,Greetings from your Engineer Henk Belgium Railways😀😉
I Iove the black and yellow wasp striped plow on the CSX fantasy Western Maryland unit. It reminds me of the locomotives from Unstoppable.
Great video, Chris! We tend to run our trains on the slower side, but sometimes you gotta let em' fly! That Western Maryland Fireball is absolutely 🔥 - Ryan
Thanks Ryan and I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving my friend!
Dude Chris, you freak me out watching your Hudson speed around the curve with No Guard Rails?? Your livin on the edge! 🤣
This was awesome. I really like when you do these, to remind the rivet counters that we want to have fun. Tonight I repaired my 671 after frying the e-unit. I’ll tell you his: running this slow, just doesn’t make sense.
Always to catch with what you're doing, Chris. You always have fun as well inform. As for fantasy paint schemes, I prefer prototype finishes on models. That's not to say I don't like any at all. I think your design for the Katy is brilliant. It adds something unique, yet keeps the familiar, too. I also like the fantasy scheme for the Western Maryland diesel, I guess for its similarity to the Santa Fe red bonnet. Most of the others I'll to other collectors, except for the heritage paint schemes, which have prototypes already running in service. Thanks for another enjoyable layout visit.
Love your videos and Layout, only been running O Gauge for about 20 months and you was the one video that got me going.....Thank You Very much.
Glad to hear you are running O Gauge as well! Thank you for supporting the channel
Great video Chris.
The Western Maryland AC6000 looks great with your Katy unit.
Thanks for sharing and have a great Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well Henry!
Oh man...look at that pull power....
You have some beautiful pieces
While I tend to lean towards the more traditional, I must say the Acela is a really sharp train Chris!
To answer your question: I was the kid who laid on the floor at a curve with the throttle set to full (KW) on my 2065 to watch it whip around that curve only to experience a 'dent' in my forehead! The real answer is that it depends on what I feel like. The last layout I built was a traditional tubular track type, a 50's style 'L' with an incline loop to an upper level where I superelevated all of the curves and it worked great at high speed (most of the time)! I must have missed an episode with the addition of your high speed loop. Where did you get those beautiful bridges?
Haha, love it! The bridges were made by Trainlayouts .com. They make some great stuff. Thanks for watching!
Late as usual I am, but a great video. Love seeing the Acela again and of course one of my all time road, the NYC pacemaker. Have a great holiday and to you and your family a very Merry Christmas.
I liked to run my trains faster than normal( when my layout was in existence) It gives a sense of the trains actually going somewhere and having to meet a schedule , not meandering thru a yard. This winter. when I hope to have some trains running again, I still like a little speed.
Since I model American Flyer, traditional post war Flyer gets run pretty fast. Newer Flyonel (Lionel / American Flyer) gets run at slower, prototypical speeds such as FlyerChief, TMCC, and Legacy. Great video and variety of locomotives and rolling stock. Thanks for the frequent videos, as always, and keep up the great work!
I just got done running my trains and now I get to watch my favorite train guy nice video Chris you nailed it
Thanks for watching!
Jay is a good guy! One of my go to sellers.
Great video Chris, love those big trains
Speed Step 45-60 on the Lionel Cab-2 remote is where I like to run my trains most of the time. Crawls are fun too, especially for filming them.
Agree!
All hail the Fireball!!! Much better than another Big Boy!
You definitely had a need for speed, thanks for sharing 👍👍
Always got to love the western Maryland👍🏻
When I was young I ran my trains fast sometimes to fast. But now I run them medium speed. Great video 😊
HELLO CHRIS GOD BLESS GREAT VIDEOS AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING ThANKS FOR SHARING
Happy Thanksgiving to you Carl!
Rbp tech tips! Oh yeah, I could actually see the drops falling. Well done.
My speed for steam engines is a slow medium speed, but when I'm running late. Gordon: HURRY HURRY HURRY!
Anytime I see O gauge trains running fast I can't help but think of Gomez Addams. N scale here. I run mostly scale speeds but i do let my greyhound and T1 run off the chain occasionally. ;-)
Thank you as always...
Love the run, I like the tip on smoke too. I try to run my trains at real looking speed for the train.
The pacemaker is the best and stunning in my opinion I love the scheme matches the freight wagons I wish I can get that in person of how pretty the locomotive is and along the wagons too.
Never have enough trains lol only thing is do you have enough track great share 🚂🫵
I run them just right. 😉
Bring back the intro theme! 😜
I got conservative on train speeds after one of my MTH 4-4-0's got airborne from a temporary dining room table layout and landed in a chair! If it went into one of the china cabinets and into the wife's Belleek collection I'd have been a dead man!
Anyway, another fun video from you Chris! Thanks!
LOL!
Hi Chris. You never ever disappoint me! Your videos are really wonderful. You have such a great on camera personality. I love your layout and your collection of various trains. I also enjoy it when you are giving the background of the engines. I would like to see some more BNSF diesel engines. Can your wife and kids hear you running the trains? Please keep these videos coming and any new additions to your layout. Looking forward to your next video. It always makes my day! Thanks for sharing!😊
Thank you Robert! I will get some more BNSF running in the near future. :) I usually record after my wife and kids go to bed so there is no background noise. If I were to try while they are awake, you would hear chaos, haha!
Chris, like all your videos this was a fun one to watch. I think you already know how I like to run my trains, lol! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Bill
Happy Thanksgiving to you Bill!
Love those trains. Thumbs up👍
Thank you very much!
Also you should get plexiglass walls around sharper curves. P.S it keeps them on the layout instead of the floor!😂
Past experiences
Or be ready to jump on the table. I've done both.
Chris lives in the fast lane...cant have plexiglass to hide those first rate engines. We run and watch trains, like Chris, every day.on our trainboard
@@asteroidrulesI'd pay money to see you jump up on my 18 ft by 24 ft trainboard, the middle othwise unreachable. Gary
Awesomes...... beautiful layout, beautiful collection.
We like running trains medium speed. Great video, we live in western Maryland, where is a good train repair shop.
The hobo union has officially adopted chris, and his layout, as their new layout to setup camp.❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
Glad they approve!
RBP Ready for New York Central Steam.
Awesome Chris! I thought of you this weekend I live in DeKalb, IL and a UP line runs right through the center of the Town of DeKalb. The engine had "The Katy" on it! Was cool to see that!
Jealous that you got to see that one in real life!
HELLO CHRIS THANKS FOR SHARING I LIKE TO RUN MY N SCALE ATRAAK TRAINS IN BETWEEN THE KATO DOUBLE TRACK WITH CONCRETE TIES ARE AWESOME THE CURVES ARE SUPER ELEVATED TO THEY LOOK SWEET FLYING AROUND THOS CURVES ;_)
When i ran the small models i had. I would start them out slow as if they were leaving a train station then slowly built up speed faster.
I love the Hot Dog Challenger, the Pacemaker Hudsons (especially the Empire State version) and the freight trains - the auto train and the reefer train!
What a nice layout.
Awesome! I’m liking the more diesels and steam!
Love those units you put together
I love MTH Hudsons there one of my favorite 🚂
I think the longest train was around 75 cars or so. Thanks for watching!
Tech tips with rbp!! You should do that more often.
Amazing layout my dude!
Very well done my man. I still am waiting for my challenger to get here I hope it gets here soon
You make me laugh 😂 thanks for the awesome videos 🎉😊😂
Dude, love that assortment of boxcar with the Hudson. Never saw so many pacemaker cars.
Great to see these engines, they look amazing. Out of curiosity what’s the longest train you’ve run on this layout? I go to a model railroading club and I asked that there and they said their HO layout has a record of 97 cars before the couples starting pulling each other apart
Great layout!!
Very creative.
Great video Chris. Love the W.M. fireball G.E.
Thanks for watching @chessiefan2101!
G'day Chris! Just new to this awesome channel! Love all your way cool videos! Good on ya mate!
My 'test track' loop (11'x17') has an unofficial speed limit of about 45mph freight and 55mph for passenger.
--Never had an issue with MTH autoracks tipping, but then I'm using 072 curves and not running full-tilt. Last video run I ran a 24 car train (but have a bit more than 50 of 'em in total).
-- You want a tippy auto carrier? Try the MPC tri-levels loaded with diecast cars on all decks. Insanely heavy and they practically _dare_ you to run at anything higher than 20smph. Last video I did of that train I had 33 of them running empty (mixed bi and tri-level, plus enclosed), but like the MTH ones, kept the speed down to a dull roar (otherwise known as 132 wheelsets on tubular rail 😅 ).
This was nice Rbp , been a big fan for a while
Thank you for your support @railroadsandrandom!
Fun video. Enjoyed watching the variety of locos run the layout. Great trains, great layout and well done video. To quote Gershwin (Who's he?) who could ask for anything more.
Speed!!! Speed!!! and more Speed!!!
well good we get see two more train from the york show
I like your Crayola caboose you had on that train, pretty cool 😎😎
Glad you caught that!
@@RBPTrains Yeah I did, pretty cool 😎😎
Great video as usual. Happy Tha ksgiving
🚂👍
Before I found your channel I didn't like the NEW YORK HUDSON.
but now I like the Hudson.
I guess it's because of you channel and Erictrain channel as well.
But now I like the loco so tank you and Eric for changing my mind on the way that I look on that loco.
I usually run my trains at a crawl. Especially the Bluetooth models. My Marx trains are hard to run slow. They just keep creeping up faster and faster. I enjoyed the video.
I like running the trains slow when I am kicking back in the room. Way more quiet that way too!
Fitting that the WM heritage unit was used as it was a "fast freight" service
A wonderful video Chris! That challenger and that Hudson looks phenomenal as well!!
Thank you my friend!
I hope you make an updated pov video of your beautiful layout!
Rbp, been looking forward to this video. I love hudsons too.
Thanks for watching! Always a good day when a Hudson is on the track :)
"Slow" to the "normal" speed seem safest on my 8X16 layout.
Great video, keep up the passionate content.
Nice layout love your videos i run my trains normal speed sometimes fast but normal speed
What's the oldest train you have? Matt Weaver is fantastic!! Where can we buy his work? Thanks for taking the time to record these.
A tech tip series wouldn't be a bad idea
Sounds like a tech tip series I'd like to do. What should the first 2 videos be about ? I already posted a how to ballast video. Gary
I turned 16 when this video came out man
Great video Chris I run my trains as fast as I need to to get the trains through the curves I learned the hard way when you move something and set it on the tracks and forget the train will find it My Fezzywig engine took out a miss placed coal tipple and disassembled it instantly I wish I had that on camera 👍😃
Haha!
Great video! How fast I run my trains depends on what scale I’m running. I run my ho scale trains slow and my O gauge trains fast.
I went to a train show in Hamburg and it was awesome I didn’t even know where to start and what to get but after 2 hours of looking at trains and looking around I found it it’s awesome and it’s a 1989 model also in real life it was a shunter and barely ever left the yard haaa I love that thing
yeah! I'm diggin it Chris! Most us Marx guys run our trains at ludicrous speed anyway and around much tighter radius's!
You know, I love your Acela. I really love the fantasy Santa Fe Acela set!! I know you have a North Pole version as well. It's cool, but that Santa Fe.. wow!! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
The Santa Fe version is a great one! Happy Thanksgiving @remie4494!
I just love your layout and the love you have for the Hobbie. You give O gauge hope young man keep up the great work and the enthusiasm it's truly infectious. By the way I run them fast 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for your support!
Very cool 😎 engine's
Chris, Christmas time is here. You should do a Christmas train special. Jerry, Jarratt, Virginia
I would like to see you do a video on which engine smokes better. Like the videos you posted on horns.
