Great training, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you sir I have been stuck trying to figure this out. New sub here
Glad I could help!
very good thank you
The wind gusts are not working anymore. Nothing happens when you change it. I'm so dissapointed it's not fixed yet. It was so fun to play around with. I shared your amazing video on flightsimulator forum. It's a voting for that to be fixed.
So if you set a single wind layer at ground level. For example 20kts. Will it simulate 20kts for all heights above ground?
What if you put a single wind layer at 10k ft? Would that give the same result in the game?
I’m not sure what it would do, especially with the latest updates, they’ve made some changes to how the preset weather works. I’ll try it out and get back to you
Do the ' winds ' work yet .. great video but I don't want to faff about working out wind corrections etc etc if it's broken
It works, try it out and you’ll see for yourself!
Nice video. But similar to others, I can't seem to get the crosswinds configured or working properly in custom weather atm.
Lots has changed since I published this video, but the winds were working fine last I tried a few weeks ago. What's happening if you create yourself a crosswind?
@@FlightSimSchool Couple of weird things (and I created the winds after game play started in the custom settings): 1) Directions seem messed up: I typed winds from 200 (wind and gust) and it shows up as like around 240 or more on ATIS... 2) Windsock was blowing in opposite direction, 3) Speeds all weird (specified 12 kts, but got 24 kts on ATIS), 4) couldn't really feel much or anything in the flight (should feel it a lot for 24 kts, right?)... could hear the wind, though...
@@FlightSimSchool just a follow-up: found out from comments from 2020, seems like that windsocks facing 180 degrees away was a common bug in windsocks for a lot of airports back then. Since, for the 'custom' airports, they've been fixed (checked it in my game at a larger regional airfield), but a lot of the smaller ones still display the bug. Re: creating custom crosswinds: I'm just using live weather.. seems more accurate (between ATIS and actual feeling)
@@douglassmith775Ahhh that makes sense. I know the speed is still not displayed correctly sometimes.
i observe wind setting is not working atm
What problem are you having with the winds?
Nice video but real simmers want like it becausse you can't step out of a real plane to land it.
Agreed, this is really meant more for demonstration purposes and beginners to understand the effects of wind
