For me, Loretta represented us women from the country. She showed the poverty, the drinking, and even the domestic violence but she was able to do this with pride and beauty. She never glossed over the truth, she didn’t change her accent or try to change the reality of life but she made each and every one of us proud to be from a holler in the country.

Her childhood was very much like mine. As an adult has been a lot like mine. I wish that I could sing like her.
I haven't found the comfort that she did. She had such a sweet spirit.

So good! She is one of a kind! I saw her in concert and she put on a fantastic show. I remember just how kind she was when I got to speak with her when getting her autograph. She is and has always been one of my favorite country music artists. She will live on in her music and just who she was. Loretta, thanks for the music and making the way for women in country music. You will be missed but never forgotten!

Thank you Loretta for all of the great entertainment over the years and for paving the way for so many female country artists. Loretta never forgot where she came from and wrote songs about real life, mostly about her drinking, cheating husband but she credits Doolittle for her success. They loved each other so much. Through thick and thin they were together for 48 years. R.i.p. Loretta and Doo. I thought it was the coolest when she recorded with Jack White. I mean how many country singers record with a hard rock musician like Jack White. I will always love and miss the Coal Miner's Daughter ❤ She really is the first lady of country music.

So much wrong with the information in this video.
She was born in 1932 not 1935.
She had her first child at 16 not 14.
She had 4 children betime she was 20 not 18.
She met boolittle when she was 14 and married at 15 when she got pregnant, not met him at 11 and was married at 14.
I am not even halfway though and notices all these mistakes so I don't think I will be watching anymore.

@@SJ-ni6iy I'm sorry but that is not true at all.
When her eldest daughter died in 2013 she was talking about how she had her when she was just 16 and they were as much best friends as they were mum and daughter. This video was made after 2013 despite it saying it's 2012.
As for your comment about women not being allowed to be old and famous is an absolute load of rubbish.
