This man is tops! Right after he sang " A Boy Named Sue" and made it a hit, I wrote Mr. Cash and gave him a song that I wrote called, " A Girl Named John ". Six months later, I received a hand written personal letter ( in black felt tipped pen). He told me that before he got my song, someone had written another song in response to his Boy Named Sue. He told me to keep on writing songs! He gave me a personal address to send my songs to so he could get it right away. I still have that letter! I will cherish it forever. I got married and went on a different career, but music stayed in my life. He was the greatest! Friend David!

They’re relationship almost didn’t happen. Johnny was on drugs & June was about to call it quits on the tour. Then it took Johnnys band, June and the rest of the road gang to break Johnnys habit of the drugs & that’s why in the song of the Statler Brothers “paid by cash” the line they were there when John remembered God was on his side. It took God & the road gang to bring Johnny through his hard times with his drug addiction.
Yes it’s in the movie “walk the line - with Reese Witherspoon & Jaquan Phoenix [Good Movie] but it’s true that they’re relationship almost never happened. I’m glad it did & yes they were meant for each other. Johnny loved June when he was a young boy also

I grew up listening to these songs in the 60's watching my Dad thump the steering wheel in his old pickup keeping rhythm with them on the AM radio......great memories that still make me smile.

One of my fave things about him is "Hello I am Johhny Cash" that to me just shows how humble he is..Almost everyone knows who he is at least us older folk and a lot of the younger generation are starting to look back and see there were some bad #$$ boys who could drop a tune that they could even like today...His newest or newer song Hurt omg does that punch you right in the throat my god I love it.

I can see Johnny and June Cash singing in Heaven for our GOD and am certain John did and does sit down and talk to Paul. Billy Graham had John and June sing on his programs and were really good friends in real life. As Billy tells it one day as the 2 walked into a stadium when the huge crowd saw Johnny they yelled. Billy then said to Johnny Those fans are who l am after tonite. Good ribbing. I love Johnny sooo much and admire he and June beyond words !!! From Diane Austin.
