Loretta couldn’t had picked a better actress to play her . I think she was absolutely perfect .. She sounds just like her and when she smiles she looks just like her too!! Love the movie then and after all these years I still love it..
If you carefully watch Loretta and Cissy, gage their personalities, their demeanors, the way they speak, respond, react, etc., they are incredibly similar and almost alike.
Loretta and Sissy are soul sisters. They knew each other way before they physically met each other
She did a great job playing Loretta. I’m glad that Loretta picked her. It was perfect for her to pick her. Loretta’s mom had that sixth sense about her too. Loretta’s mom told her that one of her kids was going to have something bad happen to them at that ranch. Her mother told her don’t stay at thst ranch. Loretta knew her mom had those premonitions but she didn’t listen to her mom.
@@patriciabuuck5277 I've always believed the same. They were fated to meet, and became soul sisters, flesh for flesh, the same person. Even decades later, we the audience some mix them up.
I was one of the paid costumed extras on stage at the Ryman Auditorium when they recreated Loretta Lynn's Grand Ol' Opry debut for Coal Miner's Daughter. Sissy sang live and Beverly sang to a prerecorded track of her own voice. Both of them were fantastic. The applause was absolutely genuine!
I loved Tommy Lee Jones in this movie & I think he should of won an award cuz he done a well job & is a great actor. Sissy & Beverly both did well on the movie also & both have great voices.
Sissy nailed the character of Loretta ! I loved that movie ! Beverly did a great job on Patsy too ! xo
Loretta was such a beauty, and an enormous songwriter
That is my favorite movie I love it and I love Loretta lnny and sissy I hope one of these days I and my boyfriend can meet you both for the last two days i been watching both of you on UA-cam love your fan Ruthie Elliott and Darrell Kellogg we been together for 10 years

hearing her talk, Sissy nailed it!
Sissy did Loretta justice.
She was great in the movie.
Yes. Just like Reese and Phoenix, 🚶 'walk the line' movie and Coal Miner's Daughter. Really great ART imitated LIFE!
I love Sissy Spacek. Such a good actor. I try to see every movie she’s in..
I have seen this movie so many times I have the scrip memorized lol One of my all time favorites
My son has just given me the DVD of Coalminers Daughter and Sweet Dreams. He bought it in Canada. Best ever gift
Loretta has not seen her own Movie 1 time 😱Can’t find the interview now. That’s strange I think.
Sissy is one of the most down to earth and special actresses of all time, and a natural beauty!
What a great film! And like so many here have already stated, Sissy did SUCH an amazing job of being Loretta!!
But also, it always amazed me how much Beverly D'Angelo was able to sing like Patsy Cline!! A voice like Patsy's comes around very rarely, but Beverly really nailed that voice and her style of singing! I had to listen to recordings of both, back to back, for MANY times before I could even begin to start hearing the slightest difference!! It was like Beverly was channeling Patsy's voice!
RIP Patsy, and RIP Loretta! Love and miss you both!!
I love this interview. Very interesting. I also love Loretta Lynn, and Sissy did a great job acting out Loretta's life. I do agree with Loretta and think that Tommy Lee Jones should have won an award and how many women can sing like Patsy Cline like Beverly did but then again the movie was about The Coal Miners Daughter . I love you Loretta and always have. Your fame and fortune hasn't changed you at all . You are still 100% Country.

This movie was so good you love her from beginning to end
Coal Miners Daughter was my Mama's Favorite Movie 👍💖. She got to see the movie b4 she past away ( my mama ) back in 1982
Love the film Coal Miner's Daughter & can't stop watching it.

Even in this interview Sissy and Loretta's voices are so similar and they even look alike, and have the same mannerisms.
"Carrie" is my all time favorite film. Sissy Spacek is my favorite actress as a result. While I am not a country music fan, 'Coal Miner's Daughter' is a great film. Sissy was amazing in the film and deserved her Oscar. She and D'Angelo sang live in the film. Tommy Lee Jones, Beverly D'Angelo and Levon Helm gave great performances.
Loretta Lynn: a true country legend.
THANK YOU for posting this!
bradster67 I love Tubular Bells. Which is my 4th favourite song and my dad introduced me to it. I know Mike Oldfield was 19 when he composed it.
I do love Coal Miner’s Daughter and I just bought it on EBay on Blu-Ray. I’ll ask dad if he had a crush on Sissy when he saw her in Carrie when I finish watching Coal Miner’s Daughter. I had a bit on a crush on her when I saw the scene where Carrie was moping about being asked to the prom and Miss Collins comforts her. It reminds me of when my parents were teenagers. Carrie was 17 in the film, my dad was 17 when the film came out and I was 17 when I first saw it.
Is Tubular Bells your favourite song?
@@kingamoeboid3887 Hey there. Tubular Bells is my favorite instrumental. I'm a 51 year old who loves rock and roll from the 70s. My love for the piece came from another favorite film, The Exorcist. Now, I can listen to the piece and not think of the film.
Sissy did a little known movie too. Raggedy Man, she was good in that movie.
Once in High school. A fat 🐘 elephant of a girl, insulted me by saying I looked like CARRIE, and said the line to hurt me from 🎥 movie,"they're all gonna laugh atchu!" After awhile, I thought through I'm shy and strange, lol, I look like CARRIE, or Sissy Spacek. She's pretty, so I was proud, not sad about it anymore. Of course I see I know that person, in school was associating me with the witch character, and not the actress. 😆
One of my favorite movies. I love both of them and respect their work!

I loved the bio about patsy too. It was good. I do love bios about people. The bio about Elvis was terrible. Austin Butler did a excellent job of playing Elvis but the rest of the story was way off. Austin Butler should have been paid better than he was for Elvis. Even Tom Hanks was paid better than Austin Butler. That was very wrong. Austin Butler spent 2 yrs trying to be Elvis. Tom Hanks didn’t work that hard and he didn’t do near as good of a job as Austin did.
They are both so wonderful! The movie is fantastic, GOD Bless you both!

My god what a interview I want to watch the movie all over again
Something about Beverly D angelo, it was a short part, but you could feel, this could have been a movie about Patsy right there too. Wow.
I lived in Sissy Spacek's hometown of Quitman TX for a few years, and my dad was good friends with her father, and I very vaguely remember meeting her father. I lived there at a time when she was at the top of her career and not home very much.
I love how she says that:
"Once you've bitten it off you've gotta go with it." 😁 Definitely true!!!
This is amazing!!! I grew up this movie. I’m now 40 and to hear this interview is amazing. Sissy nailed Mrs Lynn’s accent.
I think the director was absolutely right. If and American had directed that film, it would have been a caricature of the country people in this film. He portrayed them spot on, no exaggeration, no over-the-top BS accents and no disrespect. I love this movie and he captured the spirit and life perfectly.
All these people that were in the movie were great. This is one of my favorite movies definitely.
My all time favorite movie and Entertainer. There is no one like Loretta Lynn! She is a Icon! Love her!
The world needs more women like Loretta Lynn morals values thanks loretta
almost everything I learned about interviewing I learned from watching Brian Linehan - who was unlike most interviewers in the most positive ways. It’s great to see this archive online
I LOVE watching them all in person! So awesome to see them!
One of my favorite movies! Because of it I bought Loretta Lynn latest book and finished reading it in less than a week.... cause I don’t usually read books like this! I love it!

Parts of "Coal Miner's Daughter" was filmed near my hometown..My stepmom, and her friend were extra's in the scene where Loretta, and Patsy was on stage singing in the rain..That was filmed at our local fairground near Wise,Virginia..I can remember how upset she was when she realized that all you could see when they panned to the audience was umbrella's..I also bet they had fun filming there because whenever it rained there would be mud up to your knee's..I love this movie because I can relate to it since I was also a coal miners daughter..
ALWAYS LOVED THIS ENTIRE STORY along with real people and actors! 💖🎤🎹🎼💖 AMAZING!
Loretta just knew...her Mama had the gift and passed it down. Sissy introduced so many to Country music. Loretta Lynn a gift to us all. this show was so ahead of its time. RIP and Thank you

What an awesome interview
Sissy looks and sounds more like LL than her own daughters ! What an interesting life LL had.. Bless her heart...
Tommy Lee Jones nailed Doolittle's character!!!! Wow! The real Doolittle acts just like that!
My all time favorite movie I have watched it many many times I can say every word. One movie that will never get old.

arborist460 I lived about 45 minutes from you in WV. I lived there for 45 years and just recently moved to NJ. Don’t die there man... get out and experience life before you leave this earth.
My great grandfather was a coal miner . Born in kentucky rasied in kentucky .
This was great! I love the movie Coal Miner's Daughter! Sissy Spacek did an amazing job playing Loretta and Tommy Lee Jones played Doolittle to a tee! I noticed while watching this that Tommy and Mooney sound a lot alike when they talk! And Beverly D'Angelo played Patsy very well!
Uncanny how sissy and Loretta sound the same !
You couldn't have gotten two better actors to play both Loretta and Dolittle..
The Brave Introvert yes she does.. maybe she doesn’t now, it may have been trained out of her, but she is from Quitman, TX and in this interview, that is an East Texas accent. She didn’t have to change it much to play Loretta.
Tommy Lee Jones did a fabulous job too...The cast for this movie were awesome..
I like this. I never saw Tommy Lee Jones in an interview being himself. Interesting guy!
What a fantastic interview, great insight from all the actors...
Sissy was the best actress she Played Loretta and she sang sounded just like Loretta. She played the part so well. I loved the movie
Sissy and Beverly did it so well, I prefer to hear them. The movie is how I learned these songs.

I use listen Loretta Lynn songs back 1970s on radio stations. Back then radio go off the air at midnight. Now today 2018 radio stations on 12 hours and 7 days week. There time I can picture film movie. And songs were greatest hits begin. Try find first book and dress dad buy her on her birthday age 13. Let's thanks all actors and Mr. Lynn and Loretta Lynn. For this beautiful interview. 100%. I do have two books of Loretta Lynn. She always be Country Music singer and songwriter so talented. God bless everyone for this beautiful film movie. Thank you. God bless them.
These 2 women are fabulous. I've seen the movie more times then I can count. If I was asked what would be the last movie I was to watch, it would be Coal minors daughter. Sissy will always be my favorite actress and Loretta Lynn will always be my favorite country music singer.
This was really awesome to watch and get an insight from all involved in Loretta Lynn's life story including Loretta and Mooney Lynn themselves. Thank you for this upload.
I love watching her movie over ND over again and I'm 70 yrsold
I love Loretta Lynn and Sissy so much... they are both so talented and gracious and I love them so much I can’t say enough good things! I’m about to watch this movie with my patients!

My mother and I would watch this at least 4 times a year, until her death. ❤
Sissy was in the Waltons too. She is a really good actress and so down to earth - nothing like the 'celebrities' of today...
Man, Tommy Lee Jones was intense. His portrayal of Cal is the quintessential portrayal of the American cowboy.
Loretta & sissy speak the same, they both have a soft soul but little bit fierce. Two strong woman.
Loretta is so true and I love it.
Love CMD and loved going to Loretta's homestead in Ky! Visiting Butcher Holler gives you a whole new appreciation for Loretta and the movie!!!!Loretta is a true legend and icon!

Sissy is just so beautiful, to me :-) I love her. Bout to watch the movie, right now :-)
As a big Loretta Lynn fan, I remember hearing all about production of this film...actually preproduction as well...and couldn't WAIT for it to finally be released. Many people don't know that production started even before they hired Levon Helm, who played Ted Webb, Loretta's father. They had a stand-on reading lines until the ink was dry for Levon to step in.
Loretta Lynn down to earth self made woman will always be larger than life with a heart of gold Sissy's mentoring during CMD brought it to real life ,very moving powerful movie.brought the country out of everyone that watched it 😂❤️ thanks beautiful ladies from my 💓✋💓 ❤️ always.
Love Tommy Lee Jones should have gotten an award great actor love all his movies. Marilyn terlecki

You could definitely say that Loretta paid it forward since she herself was mentored by Patsy!
there's never been a more perfect matchup, heck they nailed it with tommy lee jones as well
Good interviews, and I really appreciate hearing Michael Apted. His "Up" series is a true landmark of documentary and film as a whole.
I enjoyed this so much, thank you!

I love Loretta Lynn. This was a good film.
I was told when I was younger that I looked like Sissy Spacek. I considered that a huge compliment.
Tommy Lee is my all time favorite actor. He played a serial killer, Gary Gilmore, in The Executioners Song. He just inhabits his characters. He's awesome.

To me the greatest women of all time Sissy Spacek and Loretta Lynn. Beautiful, intelligent and talent.
I love cissy spacek she is such a good actress
Sissy Spacek did a nice job in playing Loretta Lynn in the movie.
Sissy was a good choice by Loretta to portrait her as the Coal Miner's Daughter cause Sissy looks country and talks country in the movie. I saw Sissy on the show, The Waltons and Sissy can definitely play a country girl. She was so young and when she played on the family show the Waltons so I knew that she was going to do really good playing the part of Loretta. Tommy Lee was also the perfect actor to play Doolittle cause as Tommy Lee Jones said he knew Kentucky and that part of the Appalachian area, so Michael Apted couldn't have cast a better man to play Doo. My brother bought me the movie Coal Miner's Daughter and I have watched the movie so many times and all of the interviews. All of the actresses and actors in this movie are good. R.i.p. Loretta. We will always love you and miss you ❤
Sissy is the best!! Loretta first!!
I think that Beverly D'Angelo doesn't get the attention for her role as Patsy Cline. She would have done a much better job playing in the movie about Patsy titled "Sweet Dreams."
I completely agree and it would seem some on here don't understand that Beverly also did her own singing in movie. I thought Jessica Lange was AWFUL in "Sweet Dreams." It doesn't take much to learn how to lip sync songs. It takes TALENT to be able to sing them and do them justice.
I just love her so much
Brain I really appreciate, enjoy, and loved this video. Thank you for sharing with all of us fans.
Everything works for the greater good. Everything is connected. This was for me and now this is for you. Yes you.
I love the movie. I love LORETTA LYNN. She is the best.

Loretta Lynn is GORGEOUS!!!
I love Sissy! She's got such a lovely smile :)
I love tommy lee Jones accent!
Sissy :"Dewwww"
Just luv it .❤
AMAZING
i dont think they could have chosen a better person to play loretta lynn in the movie. she did a great job. plus i think she should have a record deal. as good as she is.
The best female country singer
Sissy was the perfect Loretta Lynn, she deserved the Oscar ❤
I love all her songs❤❤❤❤
what's so extraordinary about Sissy's performance is how she brilliantly managed to play Loretta Lynn from 13 to 40 being 29 at the time of filming. it's one of the greatest biopic performances of all-time, nailing the character big time
Sissy did an incredible job; a very quick study I’d say in the short weeks it took to do the movie. I’m simply amazed at sissy’s talent. D’Angelo I think was #1 in capturing
Sissy and Beverly....absulutely did the most totally amazing and brilliant job. They blew me away!!! BRAVO....BROVO!!!!!!
Tommy Lee Jones did an amazing job portraying Moody/Doo too. Great movie!
@@thatgirlthatsme yes. The cast was excellent at this movie.
@@gracieg7601 it sure was. I'm going to watch it again tonight with my grandson. He liked the movie too.
I think most everything in the movie was true because Loretta was there making sure they got it right. I live real close to her ranch. The big house Doo found and bought the entire town. It got flooded not long ago. My granddaughter and I were just talking about going there to visit it when we heard that she passed away. I still want to go. Id love to see the little house she grew up in. It's about 15 minutes away from us.
