- A little video of upgrading my Phantom to a Mustang saddle. Have put on about 200 miles now. It’s a nice comfortable seat. The install is very easy. Just three bolts if you make use of the passenger seat. Two of you go with just the operators seat.
Update,
I have put on a few long rides and a good number of short rides. The longer i have this seat the more I like it. I can do much longer rides without discomfort in my lower back and backside.

I have this same saddle on my Aero 750. Much better support, more room, and no tears or seam failure after 18 years of being kept outside. Miles ahead of the squishy factory squirm pad.
18 years, that’s some real durability. I am really happy with mine.

I have a 2013 Phantom with the same seat and windshield. It's a great bike for around town or even an hour or 2 ride. It can do longer if needed but I don't think it's a great touring bike to go coast to coast on.
I have yet to go beyond A four hour run. It is great for little trips into town and back home.
The most I've rode mine is about 350 to 400 miles in a day. About 8 times, as I remember. The first time it was stock, and that was tiring. With a Mustang seat, floorboards and a windshield, I wouldn't say it was easy but it was ok.

It’s is, looks kinda chunky to me. But you don’t look at it when you’re ridding. It is very comfortable.

Honda should do a recall on those factory-installed seats. Mustang seat is comfortable, vs. Honda seat intolerable.
I could only ride a short time with the factory seat.

The windshield is a Memphis Shades. The number on the shield is MEP3311. I didn’t see a number on the mount when I looked at it last night. I bought a couple different used ones off Craig’s list and used parts of them to make this. I like it, works well.

Off top question... What's the model of your windshield, your height and does is deal with buffeting? Thanks for the video by the way. Has ordered same seat after watching it.
The windshield is one I assembled out of a couple I bought on marketplace. Will try and get out to the workshop this weekend and do a short on it. I get a lot of questions about it. All the parts are from Memphis Shades. The buffeting is not bad.

Wow, I also ride a 2010 Phantom and was eyeballing this exact same seat. I'm glad someone finally showed this seat on a Phantom!
I emailed Mustang Seats with some questions and turns out you can buy the rider seat without the pillion if you call them to place a "special order" since it's not listed on their site. Comes out to $389.99 and the part number is #76194.

Thank you for the information. I did not think to email Mustang directly. That is a real savings over the 530 that I paid.
I have put on about 200 miles with the new seat. It is a bit firm. The seating position is also a bit higher. When I dismounted at the end of the ride. I didn’t need to do any stretching to get back right. Also I did not lose feeling in the rear. With the old seat I would stop every 45 miles or so to stretch.
I believe I will need a few more miles to break it in properly. I am happy with the seat so far. If you want to do any sort of distance ridding. This seems to be the best seat.

New Seat looks great! What luggage rack do you have?
Thanks much for watching. The luggage rack was a chrome one that came with the bike. I tossed the sissy bar. Then hit the chrome with a little grinder. Primed it. Then painted it with some semi-gloss Rust-Oleum spray paint. For the time I put in refinishing what I had. I should have just bought a black one.

Yes, still have the Phantom. I am still very happy with the seat. Seems to get more comfortable over time. To me it was money well spent.

Loving the ammo box saddle bags! Are they held on by custom brackets?
Yes, these are the common 50 cal boxes sold most everywhere now. Will try and do a quick overview video on them when I get home tonight. The mounts are made of angle iron from an old overhead garage door. Very handy to have on the bike. Here is the overview video,

The rack came with the bike. It had been a chrome sissy bar with luggage rack. I tossed the sissy bar and sand blasted the rack. Then gave it a spray of semi flat black. Thanks for your questions and for watching.

What type of highway bar do you have? I ask, because my Lindby Unibar interferes with the shift and brake lever clearance. The one on your bike seems to be angled forward, which is exactly what I need.

Those bags are repurposed 50 cal ammunition cans. I made mounting brackets out of some angle iron I had here in the shop and painted black to match the bike.

Well, not really brackets you can buy. Just made them from some iron I had in the shop. I will do a video on them when work slows a bit.

I kinda see how you set up the angle pcs for the ammo can brackets in your video. Do you mind if I ask what size angle you used? Looks like a perfect config to not be rubbing on the shock. Thanks
@@bikham just did these on my phantom. I used two 6-1/2" flat mending brackets per side. Just had to drill out the holes on the brackets. Had to leave the two frame covers off, I guess you could get longer bolts to reach the rear fender inserts if you wanted to keep the covers. The boxes cover most of it anyway. You also need to set the ammo boxes back far enough for the latch to clear the rear springs. The boxes will be about 1/2" to 1" away from stock rear blinkers. Easy peasy install. All for about 50 ducks. Id put some pics on here for you, but not sure how?

I have the same exact seat on my 2012 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 looks nice and is VERY COMFORTABLE ! I noticed your passenger seat was close to the bolts on your luggage rack .. I think my bolts might have dug into my passenger seat just a little I tried making the bolts for my sissy bar and rear smaller .. but it's a tight fit just like I noticed on yours did you have that issue as well?
Also what rear luggage rack is that ?
I do not know the brand that the rack is. It came with the bike when I bought it. It is a snug fit. If you do have the rack on with the passenger seat. That is one of the reasons I did leave it off. That and I don’t feel I have enough experience to ride with a passenger.
How much does it raise the seat height with the mustang seat? Looking at this or the Corbin seats.
I do not have any real measurements. Best I can say is an inch or so. For me the hight is just right. I am about 5’9”.

In the past I have good luck dealing with Dennis kirk.
The stock seat smushes my balls so I hope this seat works. I think this is a chick bike though and feel like I should have gotten a Harley Davidson.
Ride this bike for a year. Then look at the cost of a Harley. Then ride it another year. At that point test ride an Indian Chief. The Rebel is a Chick bike, according to my wife. Though they are fun to ride too.
Factory passenger seat is a joke! and shame!
Mostly just decoration.
