I am doing the same job on the same atv. Your video is extremely helpful! I'm wondering if you installed a crankshaft locking bolt to complete the job? Owners manual says to install by removing the rewind starter, front drive shaft, and the clutch cover. I want to avoid taking the front of the motor apart if that's possible. Thank you for the video

Hello! I’ve been trying to fix my buddies, not too many videos of these out there but his sounds just like yours. His starting gear has some bad teeth as well. He went through 3 starters before realizing something was wrong lol. Do you think it’s the Strag clutch? Or both
Do you have a video on removing the rotor? Struggling bad trying to get to the spray clutch.
How'd you make out removing the stator? Just curious cause I gotta tackle this on both my 500 traxters..seems like an issue everyone that owns one of these has.

What size socket did you use to take off the fly wheel nut?
How do you access the panel? Do you have to remove the whole motor?
Yes, I did pull the whole motor unit. However, I have heard of people getting the ignition cover off by removing the back axle and doing the repair without removing the engine.
