I volunteer at Glensheen. It is an amazing place. The most precious and notable part is that the complete estate was willed to the University of Minnesota, including all of the original furnishings, artwork, clothing, personal items, carriages and harness (you didn't go upstairs in the Carriage House - there are about 10 carriages and sleighs stored there). It is an incredibly educational and valuable window into our history.

That’s interesting. No I wasn’t able to go up there, nor in the groundskeeper’s cottage. It’s quite a place! Thanks for sharing your experience.

I've been to Glensheen a few times in the past, but never inside. Thank you very much for sharing. Being from Wyoming, we don't have such elegant mansions like it.

Glensheen is actually a Jacobean mansion.

This tour is most impressive especially the fact that there are so many original pieces of furniture! The tiles had individual serial numbers!? Such opulence 😁💖Jenn

Nice video. I had the opportunity to go on the tour one summer afternoon. As it turned out I was the only person in that “group”, so I was able to tour the mansion with the guide alone. I had seen it in the early 80s, as a teenager. it was really fun to see it again.
The movie “You’ll like my mother” with Richard Thomas and Patty Duke < I know the movie was filmed there but not 100% on those actors.

Awesome video Mark! I was thinking about something, what if you did a video on the 2012 Richmond Hill Indiana explosion that ruined hundreds of homes, and took two peoples lives, all because of insurance fraud gone wrong. Plus of course, the people behind it, Manserati Shirley, Mark Leonard, and Bob Leonard, it’s super interesting!

Very extravagant and very beautiful but I would say living in South Georgia being surrounded by plantations you need to look at some of the Estates down here because there are some that are amazing

The iron in the Attic may actually be a addition I don't know who that was original. It looked to be bolted together and if you go back about 50 years everything was welded but the other thing with that the plates on the end of the material looks modern. Keep in mind I used to run a steel building company that was what I did for a living is the only reason I can have that opinion. But it is a very interesting house or estate however you want to say it Mansion Etc. thank you I hope you're staying warm and I hope you're not lock down up there

@@AverageMe I don't know what they are doing at current time but I can tell you that there are three plantations doing tours and the county I live in which is 25 miles north of Tallahassee inside Georgia so and you don't really have to set up you just go on a Saturday or something but the only thing is I don't know they're doing chores at the moment one of the more famous plantations in the area here is ( Pebble Hill Plantation ) and that is located on u.s. 319 about 15 to 20 miles north of Tallahassee Florida but there's two others right there at it but they're all in one area the ones that do tours and things of that nature
