However, it has a dull vibe to it. I feel that both - the house and the grounds need an Energy clearing, especially if planning to start a family.
I agree. A lot of NYC, which is OK if you like that sort of thing. I grew up in upper NYS and hated NYC. The place was big, scary and smelled like pee. Kind of like now unfortunately. This home is amazing. Everyone room is like brand new. I like the different styles. Something for everyone. I gravitate to the original time period. Love the basement library/billiard room.

What I love about this home is these two gentleman have been so loving towards its architectural history whilst also being brave enough to introduce contemporary decoration that, funnily enough, allows its history to sing. The scheming is not necessarily my taste but the juxtaposition of very modern forms with turn of the 20th century interior decoration is very clever. I hope they enjoy many happy years there with their future family!
WHAT an amazing stroke of luck to have 30 designers unexpectedly collaborate with them on their "brand new" home. I wish them many years of miracles, blessings, and family memory making to come.

this is one of the most amazing episodes yet. The reassembled 17th century room in the basement that's detached from the foundation is straight out of my childhood dreams.
I just want to live in that entry way. So beautiful and intricate, with such warmth from the oak, complemented by those frosted lights.

First - you two compliment each other so wonderfully. I felt like I was getting to know you, just as I was getting introduced to your MARVELOUS home. And, I love the intuitive chemistry you two share, where one can pick-up right behind the other and finish a thought.
Second, as a trained and seasoned bartender, I will GLADLY “take a knee for the team” and tend bar for you, on any occassion! 😊
I k ow…that was a weak and pathetic way of expressing my intense desire to get behind that bar! It, by itself, is absolutely fantastic!!!
Third - your reinterpretation of the “Gilded Age,” is both a wonderful homage to the history and an embrace of modern style…but not at all “trendy.” I have strong attitudes on style (thats just me being a bullish Taurus), but I embraced and loved a everything you and the decorators did with this amazing home. I’m absolutely gobsmacked with this!!!

That house has been so fortunate to have Matthew and Ryan come along at just the right time to rescue it from the sad fates of so many grand homes of that period. The skillful combination of adaptive reuse, up to date inclusions, and loving restoration pay homage to the homes past and ushers in a promising and fabulous future. I'm so glad someone did this grand home justice. I too followed this house through the years and poured over the photos each time it was listed. I've driven by it so many times and admired it. What's been done to bring it back is so special and I am really happy to see it be treasured, as it should be.

Over the years I've attended many events at the house, from wedding receptions to political and other fundraisers. It is so exciting to see what you've done with the house, and to know you will actually live there. I really appreciate how you've incorporated contemporary design light fixtures and furnishings with the 1903 design. Beautiful and thank you so much for sharing this.
Ok. So impressive. Typically, these historic homes give creepy, haunted, old lady, museum vibes. But wow, these guys, and the show house designers, have done the unimaginable. They transformed this antique into a super on-trend, 2024 livable, chic home while respecting the beautiful, historic bones. Well done! 👏👏👏👏
Absolutely stunning! Matthew and Ryan have created such a beautiful home. There is nothing that I didn’t love. If I had to pick a favorite room, I’d select the Peacock room from the bar to the drapes to my absolute favorite the peacock wall covering. I loved how they preserved as much as they could and added a twist of modernism. And the designer finding the trophy was the icing on the cake. And the Pillsbury dough boy 😂. I wish them a beautiful healthy happy life as they grow their family.

I attended The Children's Theater School during the 73-74 school year. 9th grade for me. We had dance class in the gym at the Pillsbury House. During that time it was mostly occupied by businesses. It was a Grand Building and I'm glad to see it so beautifully restored. I wish paid tours were offered, I would sure take one!
I was in this house back in the early nineties; what I remember most is what a livable layout it had for its time as designed, the gorgeous stair (perfect Christmas tree spot), and the inglenook was intact.

Wowza!! The changes to this building were perfectly designed and executed. Often when a home of this age is changed so often, one finds some horrendous changes. This one was completed so tastefully.
I’m pretty sure I was in the building when it was a commercial space. I accompanied a friend when it was a collection of attorney’s offices.
