here is a very funny video describing this kind of theory, He generalizes the individuals in the jeep community ua-cam.com/video/sryM9wJP2Eo/v-deo.html that is not my video, from D&E in the garage, but it is hilarious !
4 inch lift on my yj with 4:88 gears front and rear, Dana 30 locked Dana 35 open with stock axles. Lower tire psi when crawling, don’t hop and you’ll be fine.
Funny I think this video pretty much reassured me I'd be ok swapping my d44a for a d35 on my wj with 31s. I plan to run chromoly shafts and a locker so should be a bit stronger and I don't go nearly as hard over obstacles like in the video. I say that having previously broken the left side shaft and toasted the bearings on my d44a in my zj lol
You know I had my dana 35 go out just 2 days ago. 30" tires. Pretty much a road rig. It has 110k on it. I am so ready for my 8.8 swap. Was thinking about this video when mine gave out. Glad you have the 8.8 now!
It started cracking before the second bump you should’ve stopped then lol! Nice carnage though How built up was you d35? Did you have chromoly shafts, beefed up drive shaft with a SYE?
The 35 is the biggest PO💩 that they put in a Jeep. I took that trash out of my TJ and put a 44 in it. Yes it was expensive because I also put a 4:56 R&P and put an E locker because the factory posi wouldn’t take that R&P gear set.
I have a Dana 44 on my rear axle and Dana 30 on the front of my 2011 jeep wrangler jku. Are 35 inch tires too much for it ?? Should I go with 33's please advise. I off road only when I go hunting other than that it's a daily driver
I’m so flattered. You’re the first person to tell me my exhaust sounds good haha. It’s a 2.5 with a magnaflow cat, pypes m80 muffler and turn down before the axle. It’s 2-1/4” up to cat then 2-1/2” the rest of the way out
jtmoffroad ok thanks, I have a 1990 yj with a 4.2l. With a 4inch lift and 33x12.50. I have a flowmaster super 44 on it. One of these days I'll upgrade the axles.

As long as you know when to back off and don’t start hopping you should be alright. I wheeled on 33s for a while and was fine. I’m on 35s now. The carrier was worn and I think was what contributed to it breaking. The spider gears broke and there was a crack in the carrier
Two types of people. The controlled CJ driver and the "Send it" XJ driver, lol.

THe xj seemed well built proabbly has the axles to do it, the CJ guy is the safest way to wheel, no/less broken parts
@@salami99 Yep that's gonna be me if I wheel my TJ that's my DD. At least until I get a D44 or super 35 kit

nice build, what size tires?
35s
Man ditch that 35 and just toss an 8.8 in with a locker you'll be happier once your done and wheeling.b
@@quyle9483 gone. Have a jk now
@Tfam305 sweet me too. I use to hate em. Honestly they're pretty sweet.

Wow! Crazy it went out with so little miles on it! What ended up breaking?
Infamous Dana 35 crunch!
People shit on D35, but the amount of abuse he put it through before it broke amazed me. Not to mention all the abuse when he had 33s on it as well.
I went on Sunday, figured Saturday would be crazy busy. Great Video!
I thought it was gonna be busy too. There was a lot of people there but we never really had to wait behind other groups
It started cracking before the second bump you should’ve stopped then lol! Nice carnage though
How built up was you d35? Did you have chromoly shafts, beefed up drive shaft with a SYE?
I was out there literally a month before this. One of these days man we're going to run into each other.
It’ll definitely happen!
Good video man, make more. It was fun to watch u! You can have a much bigger channel if you keep this up
Nice video your yj is one awesome machine! Love it👉👍
Thanks!!
bummer man, place looks pretty gnarly! excuse for upgrade which i see you've already done.. 👍
Yea they’re open the first weekend of every month and have a little bit of everything! The upgraded axle is in and works great!
good to hear! getting caught up on your vids, got 'em in the watch later.
Good deal! I got one more axle video to post next week then the week after that will be an offroading trip
Fun stuff. Hope you can go in August.
Thanks! Doubt I’m gknna be able to go in August. Just did doe valley this past weekend so I gotta take a break and catch up on some stuff at home
That white cherokee looks nice but sucks on the axle part but atleast you get to put that 8.8 in now
Yea his Cherokee is really nice. Just finished getting the 8.8 in tonight!
what!!! an intro on the first 3 mins wheel lift smash the ground with no pedal on the brake, no snap sound on the dana 30.

go xj power !
Where are you guys from/at in pa?
Western pa
Dana 35 whath Gears?? I want to install 4.56 on dana 35 and my 35 tires, but maybe better swap my factory dana 35 for Ford 8.8 firts.
It had 4.10s. Prob wouldn’t be a bad idea to just go for the 8.8...
@GKeeper316 what vintage jeep? my 35 makes me nervous.
Do a video of the 8.8 install!
The 8.8 is in and currently working on all the footage! Keep an eye out the next couple weeks for the videos!

Sathesh Soundarrajan you could even go up to 37’s with upgraded axel shafts 35’s will be no problem especially for a daily driver.
What engine do you have, and what exhaust setup do you have. It sound really good
I’m so flattered. You’re the first person to tell me my exhaust sounds good haha. It’s a 2.5 with a magnaflow cat, pypes m80 muffler and turn down before the axle. It’s 2-1/4” up to cat then 2-1/2” the rest of the way out

Ah nice! I always loved how those mufflers sounded. I want one for mine but they sound so much better on the 6 cylinders
jtmoffroad ya, well good luck to you man. Keep making these videos, I really enjoy them!
Thanks good luck to you as well! Its always great hearing positive feedback like this. Really keeps up the motivation!
That sucks you broke. But you’ll have it fixed bigger and better for next time.
All part of the fun! Just finished getting the 8.8 in tonight. Fully locked now!
jtmoffroad nice
What is it about driving vehicles over rocks that makes people happy?
Accomplishment is one way to create happiness. Within happiness there is innocence. Innocence spreads happiness amongst others. If you understand ‘how’ you become happy (not ‘what’ makes you happy) then you will make the world a better place.
What group were you running with?
Just a few friends. We’re all friends from a club though
I hope I don't break my Dana 35 on my 88 Yj 32/ 11.5 tires 2.5 4 banger

Benn a year, let me guess - it broke! Lol
Running 35's on a D35 is asking for a failure.
Stock yeah. On a super 35 kit they’re just as strong as a Dana 44 but have better clearance
That sucks.
good reason/time to swap to ford 8.8 !
