I think the white chocolate is part of the problem with the fudge. I would do semi sweet and milk, or maybe even just semi sweet! It would help cut the cloying sweetness of the fudge. Love to see Dibs in the video! Hope Chris is on the mend soon.

That is almost my go-to adaptable fudge recipe! On the stove: 2 TB butter, 3 cups chocolate chips, 1 can sweetened condensed milk. You can put anything in it, use different flavors of chips (I once made a chocolate cherry version with cherry-flavored chips) or add in different nuts, dried fruit, toffee, etc. It's so adaptable and so good!
I'd use nitrile gloves when handling the food colouring! Also, Caroline had the right idea with the parchment paper for the fudge. You then get another piece the same size, rotate your pan 90° and then you can lift the fudge out of the pan.

Hack for not getting grinch hands. Put a touch of oil on your hand before doing food colouring. Helps it not soak into your hands and able to wash it off easier. Learned this from doing marshmallow fondant because you have to knead it by hand.
My favorite recipe for the holidays is pumpkin pie filling. Then mix it with any cake mix you want and chopped almonds or any nuts you prefer with honey that's like you're topping icing I even do cupcakes for the kids they love them 😋

I totally understand Dibs with the microwave instructions, because every microwave has different power and "microwave on max" or "on high" is different on a 600W microwave than on a 900W one. They should just say what they used when developing the recipe and then I can adjust for my microwave...

Another, slightly easier (because it's one less color to add) way to make brown is by combining the colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel, so red and green, blue and orange, or yellow and purple! I never imagined that of all the things I learned in my middle school art class, that THAT'S what would stick almost twenty years later, but here we are, I guess. 😂😂

A tip for using food colouring in a tidier way, instead of removing the entire seal, poke a tooth pick through and just use the tooth pick to extract colour since you dont need to use much with gel based colour.

Amaretto disaronno is almond free! It’s made of the bitter almond of the apricot, so it’s nut free
