Unfortunately it seems the files that are provided may not work with the mac operating system, the other video in the description as well as the executable file from links i provided is an alternative for the 8710 but still are windows based.
Hi unfortunately the method here only seems to work with the 7740 printer. The feature of downgrading the printer through this method is not an option. Also the firmware I shared in the file, HP printers apparently dont recognize anymore due to the company making it out of date.
When I download the file on my mac, it won't let me transfer it. I keep getting a message "Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open 'HP Office jet Pro 6970.rar' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)." Can anyone help with this?
The 7720 usually comes with alot of features locked when set up for the first time. You may have to try downgrading it via the computer with the executable firmware file, the video to try this is here ua-cam.com/video/6Brcgjgf9Uc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SimplyBS

Worked a treat, thanks for this!
Anything for the 8620? Thank you
Salute & Thanks so very much, SimplyBS! The FUL file on formatted USB drive didn't work but the "Printer Pro 8710&Pro 8715&Pro 8718 downgrade to 1848A version.exe" file from 95x worked for my Printer Pro 8710, downloaded thru WiFi from the PC to printer.
Hello, could you tell me better how you did it and from which link you downloaded it?
Thank you
@@oscareduardozapatacardona9167 The link to the 95x file is in the notes at this video: ua-cam.com/video/6Brcgjgf9Uc/v-deo.html. Very slow download.
Unfortunately, using this .exe file said it updated my 8710 printer, but I'm still getting the "incompatible cartridge" error, even after restarting the printer. 😮💨
thanks it´s run on HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 :) now im happy with software from 2018 :D haha
Genius! Big thanks. This worked perfectly using my Mac.
Thanks man - worked just like you said - perfect instructions
Question: On the 6968, how do you update the printer? It has the USB - B drive not the traditional one. I bought a USB - B to USB adapter and when I follow the steps it doesn't show an update like on yours to update. It does given an option to update under printer maintenance but it wants to connect to internet to do so. Thoughts?
Same here. Would be nice to see a response. Did you ever get it solved?
Apologies, apparently this method doesnt seem to work with all printer models.
Try this method

Anyway to downgrade a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw? Im stuck initializing
Thank you SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! You can't imagine how helpful you were for me!!!! Thanks!!!!!
Muchas gracias. Gracias por compartir la información.
hilarious that your nails keep your finger from contacting the screen. but thanks for this man! it saved me!
I worked out perfectly, thank you soo sooo soo very much. Here model 8210 too.
plug the USB into the pinter, and no update options shows up. Re-downloaded, formatted, verified. The .ful file from the zip is the only thing on my thumb drive and update never shows up. Ideas?
Which model printer are you doing it on? Apparently so far the USB update option only seems to work on HP 7740 series printers. Try this method from the pc ua-cam.com/video/6Brcgjgf9Uc/v-deo.html
Many thanks for your Support!! That worked perfectly 😊👍🏻
Thank you for the video. Do you have firmware downgrade for HP officejet 8015?
Is this procedure possible for a Hp Officejet Pro 7720 because the printer has no Pendrive Port!!
Thanks for the video. How to resolve this issue for Hp Envy 4500? (No USB port + ful file)
Hi sorry this is only for the Officejet printers
Where can I find the downgraded firmware for my printer? It wasn't on your link. HP Officejet Pro 8020. Thank you!
Excellent video thank you - only issue is that once I copy the .ful to the flash drive, the printer still only gives me print photos and scan to - no 'upgrade printer' I've tried formatting the drive as both FAT32 and XFAT using Disc Utility on my MAC. Thoughts?
Is the printer a 7740? I am not sure if the mac formats the usb in its own unique way.
@@simplybs9311 yes its a 7740 - i'm also noticing that the 7740 won't scan to the USB either - it says it does but the file isn't saved so you may be right it's a weird formatting issue. Will try using a windows virtual machine to format the drive.
@@douglasdenoff367 I really hope you solve it
@@simplybs9311 appreciate your immediate feedback - tried formatting the USB using the vm and same issue - strange - have you seen the streaking problem? hardware or firmware?
Hey I am using an iMac and when I click on the link in the description all I get is a full white screen but the address bar contains the web address but I only get a blank page. Does anyone else have this issue or have any hints on a fix for me?? Thank you in advance
Yeah man, you saved my day! Thanks a lot and greetings from germany 🙂
thanks for posting this, unfortunately on my 7740 when I put the USB drive in with the file I do not see "Upgrade Printer". I also do not have the option to upgrade via the "Gear" menu, all I see is Restore Settings. :(
Brillian!! Can you share the .ful file for hp officejet po 9010??
Can't thank you enough for you help! I understand everything, but the file doesn't seem to be opening for the 8710. Can you verify it's intact? Can't open it with several different unzipping programs (archive, unzip). I am on a Mac. Does this make a difference?
Unfortunately it seems the files that are provided may not work with the mac operating system, the other video in the description as well as the executable file from links i provided is an alternative for the 8710 but still are windows based.
HP Office Jet Pro 9010: With USB Stick in the printer i only get "Print photos" and "Scan to" but not "Update Printer". Any ideas?
Hi unfortunately the method here only seems to work with the 7740 printer. The feature of downgrading the printer through this method is not an option. Also the firmware I shared in the file, HP printers apparently dont recognize anymore due to the company making it out of date.
When I download the file on my mac, it won't let me transfer it. I keep getting a message "Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open 'HP Office jet Pro 6970.rar' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."
Can anyone help with this?
HOW CAN I FIND original firmware for HP Laserjet Pro 200 Color MFP m276nw
Hello, thanks for the video.. unfortunately I can't find the "hide" button on my HP 7720... it doesn't exist there. What can I do now?
The 7720 usually comes with alot of features locked when set up for the first time. You may have to try downgrading it via the computer with the executable firmware file, the video to try this is here ua-cam.com/video/6Brcgjgf9Uc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SimplyBS
HP 8702 not in list. Printhead fits 8702,10,12,14 but the .rar file is 8710, 16, 18 Not sure if this is right .rar file.
Hi I cant verify but the machine looks similar, it is worth trying.
I followed your steps but when I load the USB on my HP pagewide 477 It does not recognize the file to give me an option to download. Only giving me option to print. I saved only the .full file after extracting. What am I doing wrong? Pleae help!
Unfortunately I wasnt able to test all of the .ful files, I mainly did it with the 7740 printer. So some of them do allow that feature on their model. I did a google search and found this post and people say that the .ful method works.
