Thank you for explaining. I got the $25 cleaning kit and it worked like a charm! I see people talking about 'missing cartridges' after reinstalling printhead. I would say to do what I did - carefully reject and reinsert the cartridges. Maybe try detaching and installing the printer cartridge again. Anyway, I am grateful that I didn't have to buy a new $300 printer! Thanks Brandon!

can lines be a sign you need to clean your printhead? Would the bottom of the printhead need cleaned? i did the automatic printhead alignment, and the automatic printhead cleaning. Appears to print ok, but photos have horizontal lines

hello, I had this issue of missing print lines and I had the printhead changed however barely 3weeks later, the issue resurfaced again. it prints like 5pages then starts missing some lines in the other printouts, please help, and also is there A aubstitute for the cleaning solution?
Hey - So I am getting a terrible print problem on an HP7740. Printer has been dormant for months. All ink colors are showing nicely on quality report or other reports in a "band" where printing is visible. BUT BUT BUT.....approximately every inch down the page I get a white band of nothing printed. So some printing, then inch of nothing, then blank band, then some printing, then blank band alternating all the wat down the page.
Great video. Black, Cyan and Magenta cleaned just fine but yellow is hard clogged. The ink is actually hard I think because I can't get any cleaning solution to go into the yellow at all. Any suggestions?

Black ink works ok all around, and when I print in color in regular paper all the images have banding effect. I think your product works OK but there must be any other cause for this. Any idea?

Hi, my issue is that I have replaced all the ink cartridges 3x and I keep getting the warning that the cartridges are empty and the printer will not function. Can you advise? I’m American living in Slovenia and have little support here.
Oh and I have another interesting issue: My printer prints wrong-sized (bigger) CD covers (booklet/ jewel case inline) when I print them using Nero Cover Designer in one computer (windows 7), but when I use my other computer (Windows 10) they print normal. Any ideas? This happened after I updated the HP software in the Windows 7 PC, but when I tried to go back to the previous version still kept doing the same.

I even punched new ink cartridges as well. Any hep is greatly appreciated.
great video , and thank you for your afford to make this, i have another question, and i hope you are able to help me out a little. i bought the Officejet 7740 two days ago brand new , but my print quality is far less then what i had with my old photosmart 6510 , i keep getting horizontal lines and missalighnment even after 5 times calibrating the head, 1 time full reset with cutting the power completely off , and i did 11 times cleaning printerhead , i tried this all with different types of paper, and different settings for different types of paper. and it just wont solve the problem, im allmost out of the setup cartridge set that came wich the printer , so at this point im not sure rather its me or the machine is just not functioning well at all , and since the cartridges are so damn expensive im a bit irritated that i havent print out 1 usefull sheet of paper but its allmost empty and i have to buy new ones 2 days later with chance of drain them also before i have the problem solved. could you give me advise on what is the smartest thing to do next? regards Arjan

Hey! my problem occurred when I got a paper jam. I then pulled the paper out and my new pictures started printing faded. I bought this cleaning kit and just used it. Still printing faded.

The printhead of 7740 is detecting error, should I use alcohol to clean up the printhead? And if it doesn't work, which other method can I use?

The printer may be failing
After refilling my cartridges on Hp officejet 7740 printer it keeps displaying that cartridges must be replaced

Try warming up the solution and then try again. Until the clog is broken.

Try using warmed up solution, the only thing I can think of is the printhead is not totally unclogged.

any idea why my images are still printing with lines after they replaced my print head twice?? it prints a black line every inch or so
It may be the rolls have ink on them, try doing a roller track cleaning with a q tip.

I would advise trading your current printer out for something else. Those errors are not easy to fix.

My HP 7720 does not print colour on A3, it is absolutely ok with A4 format, what could possibly be wrong, thank you

Yes its a software issue virtually impossible to fix.

I would reach back out to HP tech-support and let them know that what they told you let you getting this new error code. Demand a new printer.
