So they kinda had to hinge the plan on the longshot chance of Harry winning because that was their only short window of time to port key him out of the school.
Yeah in the books it's specified that portkeys don't work con hogwarts unless explicitly allowed by Dumbledore. Moody (Barty Crouch Jr) only had access to the trophy ALONE, giving him enough to redirect it's target location, but he trophy was carefully guarded otherwise. Al this is too long to explain forma the movie, thus making it look "more convoluted than it needs to be"

Honestly, I think Quirrill couldn't get the stone because He who must not be named wanted it. At that point in time they where sharing a body, so the mirror might have seen them as one being. The charm would only Yeld the stone to someone who wanted to find it, but not use it.
I'm pretty sure he says that he sees himself presenting it to his master. So he didn't want to find it, he wanted to give it to voldemort, same logic as wanting to use it.

In all its centuries there, the basilisk only attacked people when Riddle/Voldemort made it, so it was probably there to protect the school as Salazar's contribution. Godrick gave a sword, Rowena gave a diadem, and Helga gave a cup. It makes sense that Salazar would give a gift only he could, and regardless of how he might have changed later, the basilisk was likely put there and trained from the beginning, just like the other three's gifts weren't something they just made at the end of their lives.
Given the time frames that the books showed to us it is true that the basilisk didn't attack any students or teachers and the number of corpses in the sewers really point to it being a passive defense for the school but the books also hint if i remember correctly to Salazar being very pure blood set for the wizarding world. Also if the basilisk was a passive defense than what was the point of the Chamber of Secrets? The big problem is that the chamber responded only to parseltongue, a magical ability seemingly passed through bloodline, and that said basilisk was under complete control of said parseltongue users. It also is up for speculation on how much info there was lying around about the chamber before Tom Riddle opened it well he went to school.

On another note I am now curious on how accessible the plumbing and sewage system is outside of the chamber entrance. Also I understand and agree that Salazar wanted the school. He would of been more than a little crazy if he didn't want to make training wizards and witches easier. Bonus, they would also be able to meet others more easily making marriage easier. By the time of Tom and Snape the Sorting Hat was the main way to get into a house. Which was based on personality and will of the students themselves. Granted how many knew they more or less had a say was probably a very small fraction of students. To get into Slytherin it just needed to judge you as being more sly/cunning, and maybe wanting power, so by Harry's school years there were probably more than a few non pure in Slytherin. it was Barty Crouch Junior cosplaying as Moody, not Wormtail. also, the books sort of imply that the ministry has something of a control over portkeys so maybe thats the plot excuse for it not having a change of destination but just a middle one. don't know, maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
I had a theory that the reason the port key was two way was because Voldemort didn't want to reveal his revival to the world yet and needed more time to prepare. So he was planning to send one of his minions back polyjuiced into Harry to buy time.
Qurriel couldn't get it because he wanted to get it and use it. Voldemort couldn't grab it because he wanted to get it and use it, and he didn't have hands. Qurriel was going to use it for voldemort, but since voldemort didn't have hands he couldn't do the spell or potion or whatever himself.

Lily refused, and then was killed as a result of her choice, a choice that she had made out of the love she had for Harry. Since no one else is mentioning it. You got the order of events wrong. Moldy voldy was in Albania, hiding until Quirrell found him. He attached to Quirrell, and after getting Harry pottered, he found and possessed the snake. It was only after the snake killed the keeper of his fathers massive mansion that he turned her into a horcrux.
I need this for so many characters. Like please. The final bosses of the darksouls games, telling the story from the gods points of view through the Percy Jackson books. SO MANY!
2 really good HP fanfic recommandation, 'HP and the Temporal Beacon' and 'HP and the Methods of Rationality' 1st one starts off with near the end of the book 3, with Harry helping Hermione into the CHamber of secrets, to create ie a big Reset Button to prevent future harm in ala Groundhog Day, however after a initial 'failure' it acts 2nd compresses and drastically alters the series entire plot into a single first year at Hogwarts, with HP being brought up as a scientist, after LIly used magic to help Petiuna to get better husband.
Imagine if the dark wizards in Harry potter followed the same rule of 2 and had the same politics as sith lords. I just imagine someone way more powerful than voldemort would've come up through the ranks

It never occurred to me until now but the Sword of Gryffindor is potentially the most OP item in the whole world of HP. Since it absorbs that which makes it stronger. Get an avid Action RPG player with it and they'll be upgrading it with everything. Casting all kinds of spells, lightning, fire, ice, blood, etc. Then it ends up like one of those Diablo weapons with a whole paragraph of suffixes. But also kind of confusing because it's like, if you hit it 1000 times with a hammer, does that actually make it weaker? Or does that give you the equivalent of 1000 hammer strikes worth of additional damage?
What if: Lord of darkness Takes the child and raises and or gives him to one of his loyal followers to raise. What's a bigger flex? killing the child that's supposed to kill you when he grows up? or raising your supposed future killer as one of your loyal followers?
Rowling has demonstrated on multiple occasions that her knowledge of countries outside of her private Scottish castle probably comes solely from like, racist caricatures in tabloid papers or something. I'm surprised she'd even heard of Albania.

Voldemort sneaks back into Hogwarts by possessing Prof. Quirrel, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. The position that Voldemort cursed so that no one could hold it for more than one year. Seems to me he'd have been better off possessing the Magical Home Economics professor. But then, Dumbledore isn't much better. He puts the stone in a magic mirror, where only a person who didn't want the stone could get it. Of course Harry shows up and gets the stone. So it goes from the one place where Voldemort absolutely couldn't get it, into the pocket of a child, who could have been easily stabbed by Quirrel, killed, and the stone taken. You'd think that, when Voldemort touched Harry in the graveyard, he'd have been tipped off that the boy was an unintentional horcrux and you can't just avada kadavra his ass.
Well, Voldy may have an issue with the competency of his henchmen, but to be perfectly honest, he´s not very competent either. His only ace card is that he has no moral boundaries, so he never stops to ask himself whether something is worth it, or necessary. But he very much wastes his time when he´s secretly immortal (the whole 5th book, and most of the 6th). He´s literally one of the strongest wizards in dueling, plus he´s immortal. He should really be godlike in terms of mere presence and dueling power. Yet all he can show for it is a draw against a 14 year old, and a draw against an old geezer.

Qurriel couldn't get it because he wanted to get it and use it. Voldemort couldn't grab it because he wanted to get it and use it, and he didn't have hands. Qurriel was going to use it for voldemort, but since voldemort didn't have hands he couldn't do the spell or potion or whatever himself.

What if those "minions" that report to Voldemort were actually his well-placed horcruxes, Harrys scar would report on Harry, The Diadem can report on Hogwarts, and yadda yadda (I mean if you are gonna play with the canon might as well go wild)
Well the idea was that he hallucinated the horcruxes but not the Harry one, because he didn't intend to create it, and on the second part I can turn that into a joke that Harry was a horcrux that possessed him in his body and not in his mind

You know, now that you tell this story from Voldemort's perspective... isn't it really weird how Voldemort would make Quirrel take a position at Hogwarts that he himself cursed? Did he know the curse would only affect Quirrel and not himself? Or did his Horcruxes make him so confident that he was willing to risk one of his reincarnations for this infiltration?

It's particular. Voldemort gave Lily a choice, a chance to back down without being harmed. Lily refused, and then was killed as a result of her choice, a choice that she had made out of the love she had for Harry. The two important parts of the love magic cast was that Lily had a choice, and Lily made that choice out of love. Snape's selfish desires had inadvertently saved Harry.
Or it all turned out to be because of some protection Snape put on her without telling anyone 😂

Since no one else is mentioning it. You got the order of events wrong. Moldy voldy was in Albania, hiding until Quirrell found him. He attached to Quirrell, and after getting Harry pottered, he found and possessed the snake. It was only after the snake killed the keeper of his fathers massive mansion that he turned her into a horcrux.

Since it absorbs that which makes it stronger.
Get an avid Action RPG player with it and they'll be upgrading it with everything.
Casting all kinds of spells, lightning, fire, ice, blood, etc.
Then it ends up like one of those Diablo weapons with a whole paragraph of suffixes.
But also kind of confusing because it's like, if you hit it 1000 times with a hammer, does that actually make it weaker? Or does that give you the equivalent of 1000 hammer strikes worth of additional damage?

I hope part 2 is more accurate. There is no version; video, book, or otherwise; that would give indication that wormtail is the one masquerading as Mad-eye Moody.

Voldemort sneaks back into Hogwarts by possessing Prof. Quirrel, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. The position that Voldemort cursed so that no one could hold it for more than one year. Seems to me he'd have been better off possessing the Magical Home Economics professor.
But then, Dumbledore isn't much better. He puts the stone in a magic mirror, where only a person who didn't want the stone could get it. Of course Harry shows up and gets the stone. So it goes from the one place where Voldemort absolutely couldn't get it, into the pocket of a child, who could have been easily stabbed by Quirrel, killed, and the stone taken.
You'd think that, when Voldemort touched Harry in the graveyard, he'd have been tipped off that the boy was an unintentional horcrux and you can't just avada kadavra his ass.

What I hate about hp is that we know that there’s evidence of magic without the use of a wand or spells, but it’s not fully explored.
Well, Voldy may have an issue with the competency of his henchmen, but to be perfectly honest, he´s not very competent either. His only ace card is that he has no moral boundaries, so he never stops to ask himself whether something is worth it, or necessary. But he very much wastes his time when he´s secretly immortal (the whole 5th book, and most of the 6th). He´s literally one of the strongest wizards in dueling, plus he´s immortal. He should really be godlike in terms of mere presence and dueling power. Yet all he can show for it is a draw against a 14 year old, and a draw against an old geezer.
