fair enough with all the points! you're clearly being as unbiased as possible.. bringing to light all the points that are in line with how the products work in your hair. I will say, which you addressed at the end - how I think certain categories deserve more recognition then others. curious to see how your brand battle evolves to showcase this point in the future :) thanks for the battle!
Oh come on, he cannot be more fabulously and flamboyant gay, why would he date a girl? Not that my gaydar is strong but you are so bad at reading people haha.
for my hair, cavalier clay is better than claymation. i dont care about all of those categories. the only things that matter to me are texture (which i would say is pretty much the same thing as finish) and hold. cc's hold is insane, and the texture is beautiful. cc's finish in bluman's hair is very wet looking, which has never happened to me. when i put it in my completely dry hair after blow drying, I get this crazy beachy, texture, kind of like cameron dallas.
Have used claymation for over a year, it stopped working as well as it used to before. I purchased Blu Maan cavalier clay, and it does wonders! On these Summer NY days my hair is still strong with products from morning to night. Cant have it any better! No hair spray or pre style needed!
honestly how do you only have 137k subs? I thought you had at least 800k. man you deserve so many more subs, you're content is amazing I really hope you get more subs soon you deserve each and every single one of them
Thank you. I could have 800k, but I really appreciate the quality of an audience I have at 137k. Mature guys (and ladies) who are articulate and well informed. I'll keep that.
Would be fun to see a new comparison between these two products, as the formula have changed quite a lot for both claymation and cavalier since this video was published.
2022 update if anyone is interested: Ran cav for about 5 years now. Huge fan of blumaan's work. Great, only issue is sometimes left white stuff in hair (many have said the same) and it was really dry finish. Amazon stopped carrying it and needed something tomorrow. Got Hanz Clay, and honestly is better. - Easier to apply - Isn't as dry as cav - And no white stuff. - You lose .5 oz of product for the same price but I'll take that. - Nicer jar makes you feel like you finally grew up.
Great brand battle! I have been using Claymation pretty regularly and have not had a chance to try Cavalier yet. Keep up the great work! I also like your street style segments.
I’ve tried both products and the hold for blumaan is wonderful, for hdf I feel that it’s too soft for my hair type and there’s no stiffness to support my hair and it drops and it feels really greasy. Wasn’t a good experience, I would never go to claymation as a everyday product, blumaan for life.
I'm really suprised that you have so less subscriber. I think your brand battle is unique and i love it. You look good , have a good voice and your honest reviews are really helpful. I think you are destined for great future. Good luck and keep doing the good stuff!
hey on your website you gave claymation 5 stars for finish, and the cavalier got 3 stars. but in your brand battle cavalier got the win for finish - do you still stand by that?
I haven't tried blumaan yet, I was thinking about trying the green lion one, or the Orange Zebra one I like to have super high hold like the hanz de fuko, and the matte finish as well, which one do you suggest I should buy from blumaan?
I have really hard and fine, stiff Asian hair. I was looking for some product that have high hold and doesn't damage my hair ( something like natural ingredients ) . So what should i use? Iam really confused
the arrow from your comparison image a lil bit confusing but I get it *blumaan in the left and hanzdefuko right .. but very nice video.. I buy Cavalier because of this video too.. thanks Robin
Hey Robin! I've been using a medium hold pomade my whole life and I've been scared to use anything else, but now I'm getting tired of it now that my hair is getting longer. What differences am I to expect if I change to a clay? Thanks!
Nice vid 👍🏻 needed an honest review of the clay. And honesty i love ur vids. Ur honest about hair products, so thx becuz i needed ACTUAL facts about a hair brand. Wish u the best of luck with ur channel👍🏻💯
I think doing a Shampoo and Conditioner brand battle would be a good idea, expensive vs cheap like comparing Kerastase/Pureology/Aveda to say supermarket or poundland brands like Alberto Balsam/Tresemme/Schwarzkopf Gliss or Supersoft
So experimenting your hair like that is fine as long as you have the precautions to avoid some sort of hairloss. I experiment my hairstyles about twice a week just to be sure, but is it safe enough?
Okay I've been debating between these products. I've never used clays before but these seem to stand out. I have like medium thickness and density of hair with about 3.5 inches on top (growing it out.). Are these good options and what would y'all recommend. Any and all advice works
Quicksand and claymation absolutely dried my hair out. My hair and scalp are very atypical so I'm not surprised I had issues but whatever that oil-drying ingredient in both products is... It just destroyed my hair
Robin James yeah unfortunately I had to. Do you know what that drying, sandy ingredient in quicksand is? I know claymation has "just a touch of quicksand" but it was more than enough to turn my hair into straw. Same thing happens with any dry shampoo I use. I'd like to avoid whatever that ingredient is
@Robin James Could you compare Osis + Thrill vs Blue Reuzel Those are the best products available in my country and I wilsh you could help me to decide.
Hey, could you please do a review of the Balmain matt clay? Nobody else has done a review and I think it's a very interesting product to review cos its by the fashion house Balmain and it seems like it could be a pretty good product! Also, what product do you usually use in your hair day to day?
Hey Robin, I was thinking about getting the cavalier clay but in videos and on the blumaan website they seem to stress the fact that it is made for thicker hair. Just wondered what think about its suitability to finer hair? :)
Not sure how helpful this is, but some sources say that BluMaan is going to be releasing another version of the clay in the future, but intended for finer hair. You might want to wait for more information on that. The current version would probably weigh down fine hair.
Did you ever test the Morris Motley that you got from thegentlemenscove, and if so, will you be doing a review? I'd love to see your opinion on the product.
Hey Robin, I have pretty long hair at the moment and pre styler with a clay or wax isn't really cutting it, so I'm looking for a good hairspray, do you have any recommendations?
Robin has fairly thin hair. I have very thick hair, I've found claymation very poor. My hair falla down within 30 minutes, I've found some cheaper clays to work better with my hair. Bizarre. I think hanz de fuko aren't that great, but have very good social media/marketing presence. I've also been a proponent of weighting things differently. A hold of a product should not carry the same weight as the way a product looks. Cracking video as always. x
Hey, I don't have thin hair. I have fine hair and a lot of it. And I agree. Both HDF and the Blumaan company are maters at marketing. They don't cut it against other brands (Lockhart's, Daimon Barber, Arcadian), but they have UA-cam klout.
Robin James Lockharts helped make our pomade & Eric from Arcadian just finished formulating our upcoming light clay. I think we actually get written off sometimes as just a "UA-cam" brand that isn't focused on quality. The heavy clay isn't designed to work for fine hair like ours, and we marketed it specifically to people with thick hair because we didn't want people having lacklustre experiences with it due to it weighing their hair down. That said - always appreciate the reviews Robin and tough critics like you are what make us work harder to get better. Looking forward to showing you what we can do!
Robin James so on a quality scale, Daimon Barber and the rest are better than Hanz de Fuko and BluMaan? I'm doing a research on which products are regarded as more premium than others so I could make better decisions. For now I just know that By Vilain products have a lot of chemicals, American Crew is just a big name (except their new Heavy Hold Pomade), Baxter of California is a decent brand and Hanz de Fuko is quite on the organic side. Would you consider make a video about that?
I’ve got both these products up for grabs!

Robin James I thought blumaan would win
Robin James I don't have a Facebook or twitter
Robin James I think blumaans packaging is better
Robin James start doing three way brand battles
fair enough with all the points! you're clearly being as unbiased as possible.. bringing to light all the points that are in line with how the products work in your hair. Hey Joe. Thanks for watching.
Not being unbiased, just being honest!
Thanks again.

Bruh, UA-camr conversations
hanz de fuccboi
BluMaan y
Robin James is the most underrated UA-camr ever(not even lying)! You deserve so many subs and carry on what you are doing! I love your vids!
Ha ha... the 'read more' part of this comment may have taken away the impact of the top bit.
Robin James ahahha true
Robin James ahah didn't intend to put you off but the top part was actually true
Robin the type of James to style his hair before going to bed
No this isn't happening
#TeamCarsen
Styling your hair before bed is the perfect time to practice new styles tho.
Colin Brannon exactly. You don’t have to risk looking ridiculous in public
i do that lmao
Robin the type of James to tell a girl he has fine dense hair at his first date
but he's gay
Robin the type of James to expect someone to know he has fine, dense hair... oh, and also to not be dating a girl.
Robin James
Lmao 😂 damn burn
Oh come on, he cannot be more fabulously and flamboyant gay, why would he date a girl? Not that my gaydar is strong but you are so bad at reading people haha.
That Zuniga jokes are spreading..😂😂😂

do you have thick or fine hair?
"I actually don't care" why I love Robin
UA-cam politics is exhausting
Have used claymation for over a year, it stopped working as well as it used to before. I purchased Blu Maan cavalier clay, and it does wonders! On these Summer NY days my hair is still strong with products from morning to night. Cant have it any better! No hair spray or pre style needed!

Robin James you old charmer you!
Blumaan has 800K subs. But he started earlier though.
I know this comment is old, but i thought he had over a million subscribers.
I was shocked when i saw 175K
Judge Dredd he has 1million now if you didnt see his Q and A video for 1 million i suggest going to watch it.
ive been waiting for this for the longest time. I love ur brand battles 👌👌
Chers Jose
Jose Lopez Diaz squad!😂😂👌
I like how you are open to criticise bluuman products, despite how big they are in the hair industry, unlike many other youtubers. keep it up man
Hey! Not at all criticism, just my opinion.
But thank you.
Would be fun to see a new comparison between these two products, as the formula have changed quite a lot for both claymation and cavalier since this video was published.
In a good way for Claymation or bad?
Thank you for doing these they help me figure out which product to get!You definitely deserve more subscribers
2022 update if anyone is interested:
Ran cav for about 5 years now. Huge fan of blumaan's work. Great, only issue is sometimes left white stuff in hair (many have said the same) and it was really dry finish.

do you still prefer hanz? do you know something better?
Great brand battle! I have been using Claymation pretty regularly and have not had a chance to try Cavalier yet. Keep up the great work! I also like your street style segments.
Cheers Dan! More Street Styled to come for sure.
Yes! The long awaited battle has come at last
It certainly has
I’ve tried both products and the hold for blumaan is wonderful, for hdf I feel that it’s too soft for my hair type and there’s no stiffness to support my hair and it drops and it feels really greasy. Wasn’t a good experience, I would never go to claymation as a everyday product, blumaan for life.

hey on your website you gave claymation 5 stars for finish, and the cavalier got 3 stars. but in your brand battle cavalier got the win for finish - do you still stand by that?
I think a good system for doing this is by scale from 1-5 for each category or something like that.
but what better keeps the hairstyle? clay from blumaan or hanz de fuko claymation?
You know you have an addiction when robin uploads a video while you're binging his videos.
Ha ha... that's a serious addiction!
Which one is good to make our hair thick and volume look ?
Robin, I know the Cavalier clay was formulated for guys with normal to thickish hair. I'm just wondering how it is with much more finer hair?
Hey! It doesn't say that on the packaging. But it seemed to work fine.
Was looking forward to this brand battle. Next battle: mojo's hair clay vs vilain's dynamite clay!
Hey Aftab, glad you liked it.
Is robin's hair thick or fine or thinning hair? Also what products are good for fine, thin hair?
Yes! Thank you! I've been waiting for this!
You're welcome!
Thanks for doing this! I’m going to try the Blumaan soon. Claymation finished with their style lock hairspray has been unmatched.
Can't believe I'm just seeing this video but I'm SO HAPPY there will be a season 3!
kevin murphy rough rider vs blumaan cavalier clay which is better?
Great video as always. Loved seeing your take on these two!
Thanks!
I haven't tried blumaan yet, I was thinking about trying the green lion one, or the Orange Zebra one I like to have super high hold like the hanz de fuko, and the matte finish as well, which one do you suggest I should buy from blumaan?
Sounds like season 3 is going to be even better Robin! I think its great that you're changing things up with the points! Looking forward to more!
Do you recommend Mister Pompadour Natural Beeswax Paste Robin? I have quite long and hard asian hair .Love to hear your opinion . Thank you
Hey, I have tried their products. Not my favourite. What are you looking to do with your hair?
I have really hard and fine, stiff Asian hair. I was looking for some product that have high hold and doesn't damage my hair ( something like natural ingredients ) . So what should i use? Iam really confused
Yes! This is what are we waiting for. Thanks Robin
Glad you liked it.
Great video! I wash joe's videos and yours all the time, keep being honest that's one reason why people love your videos 😉
Thanks Marlon
The moustache is getting better and better Robin! Looking great! xx
Thank you! It's getting there, for sure.
love ur brand battles!
Thanks Jose
the arrow from your comparison image a lil bit confusing but I get it *blumaan in the left and hanzdefuko right .. but very nice video.. I buy Cavalier because of this video too.. thanks Robin
Hey Robin! I've been using a medium hold pomade my whole life and I've been scared to use anything else, but now I'm getting tired of it now that my hair is getting longer. What differences am I to expect if I change to a clay? Thanks!
A pomade will be more matte and should give you a more natural, looser finish.
What about doing suavecito firme clay vs another clay. Johnnys chop shop maybe
Video was awesome ! I've been waiting for this since the clay came out
Thanks Shane
Awesome video man, moustache looking on point as always !
Thanks Shey
Can I use claymation and toppik hair concealer together?
Nice vid 👍🏻 needed an honest review of the clay. And honesty i love ur vids. Ur honest about hair products, so thx becuz i needed ACTUAL facts about a hair brand. Wish u the best of luck with ur channel👍🏻💯
Thank you Nguyen. Always honesty from me!
I agreed with you Robin about styling, holding, and washing. This Blumaan is very difficult to wash!! But i am really love the styling and holding.
Glad you agree.
Robin if you must to choose one shampoo product if you have dandruff. Pete and pedro or hanz de fuko shampoo
Wanna try Cavalier Clay now. Just got Claymation and honestly was a bit disappointed with the the styling and hold..
Have you tried Arcadian Clay? It's very good. Or Flagship.
Whats considered a "premium" hair clay?
Very comprehensive
great vid robin.
keep up the good work
I've been waiting for this episode thanks for making it
You're welcome
Robin you said that HDF used to be your main go to. My question is what is now your main hairstyling product and why? Thanks and keep it up!
Could be a shout... but I'm not putting a £1 hair product in my hair.
Can you do a review on our new extreme hold medium shine hair wax?
So experimenting your hair like that is fine as long as you have the precautions to avoid some sort of hairloss. I experiment my hairstyles about twice a week just to be sure, but is it safe enough?
Mark Ronnel Santiago what do you mean by “experimenting” with your hair?
and can these products keep the hair all day long?
Robin i request you to review the Kocaine Klay it is a 100 % natural and organic product
I hope, you post a brand battle of PETE AND PEDRO PUTTY vs BLUMAAN CAVALIER CLAY
Baxter of California Clay Pomade vs Cavalier?
Which one is good for thin hairs ?

Thanks for doing the Video..
Keep up the Good Work.. Lots of Love and Best Wishes ;)
Thanks! Really glad you enjoyed this one.
Yea... Excited about the Give Away too.. Hehe :-p
any recommendations for thin, medium length and slightly curly hair ?
what is the diff between bluman clay and the blue pomade they sell pls help
Okay I've been debating between these products. I've never used clays before but these seem to stand out. I have like medium thickness and density of hair with about 3.5 inches on top (growing it out.). Are these good options and what would y'all recommend. Any and all advice works
Quicksand and claymation absolutely dried my hair out. My hair and scalp are very atypical so I'm not surprised I had issues but whatever that oil-drying ingredient in both products is... It just destroyed my hair
Eek! Not good. Bin it!
Robin James yeah unfortunately I had to. Do you know what that drying, sandy ingredient in quicksand is? I know claymation has "just a touch of quicksand" but it was more than enough to turn my hair into straw. Same thing happens with any dry shampoo I use. I'd like to avoid whatever that ingredient is
Robin what hair spray do you use?
Still Wella Silvikrin Class Maximum Hold
Would the BluMann cavalier clay work as both a pre-styler and after I blow dry?? Thx mate
Hey, I wouldn't pre-style with it but I'm sure many people would.
have you ever thought about doing a high skin fade?
I certainly have and did, but want to grow my hair out now.
did you like compared to an undercut?
@Robin James
Could you compare Osis + Thrill vs Blue Reuzel
Those are the best products available in my country and I wilsh you could help me to decide.
Hey, could you please do a review of the Balmain matt clay? Nobody else has done a review and I think it's a very interesting product to review cos its by the fashion house Balmain and it seems like it could be a pretty good product! Also, what product do you usually use in your hair day to day?
hey robin what is the difference between a fibre , putty and paste!?
There's not a huge difference, but you'll see it in the consistency. Putty is more spongy. Fibre is fibrous and paste is thicker.
Robin James which would u say tend to have the higher hold of those 3
Hey Robin, I was thinking about getting the cavalier clay but in videos and on the blumaan website they seem to stress the fact that it is made for thicker hair. Just wondered what think about its suitability to finer hair? :)
Not sure how helpful this is, but some sources say that BluMaan is going to be releasing another version of the clay in the future, but intended for finer hair. You might want to wait for more information on that. The current version would probably weigh down fine hair.
oh okay! i'll look out for it in the future, thank you :)
Hey, I haven't been on the website as I was sent it. It also doesn't say on the jar.
I love Arcadian Clay, Flagship, Daimon barber, Patricks M3.
Yesss finally!! 🙌 Been loving your videos lately, keep it up Robin!
Cheers Matteo
How do these 2 clays compare with Baxter of California Clay Pomade?
Pretty different. I prefer a clay to be really like a clay. Love Arcadian, Flagship, Lockhart's.
Robin James Are they better or worse then Baxter of California?
the arrows are very misleading, I still don't know which is on the left and which is on the right
Blumaan Squad ?
Vishal Hell Yeah!
same even though I don't have any Blumaan's products cuz im broke lol
we out here!
Ayyy
Vishal arent hanz de fuko btr?
Which should i buy? i am confused as i has not tried any of those
The video should help.
Robin James can i mix both products in my hair?
Please do a brand battle with Johnnys chop shop trigger happy spray and another pre styler
Not used them, will dee.
Did you ever test the Morris Motley that you got from thegentlemenscove, and if so, will you be doing a review? I'd love to see your opinion on the product.
Morris Motley sent me the products! Will definitely get a review at some point.
Robin James that's awesome! I've been waiting for awhile now to see this review. So excited!
What hair products would ypu recommend buying if I am a teenager with minimal money?
What kind of thing do you like?
Can you do one with "18.21 man made hair clay"? Please and thank you
Hey! I've never tried it. Where is it from?
Hey robin. Digging the stache. Maybe curl the ends like a handlebar mustache. Great video as always. Fan from Chicago.
You'll see that in Sunday's video!
Omg yesssss I've been waiting for this
Hope you enjoyed it.
loving the brand battles keep it up dude
Cheers Duncan.
Finally this vid, excellent job man👌👊, Blumaan's cavalier clay vs Baxter of California clay pomade plz☺
Hey Stephen, I think we've done both these products now. I like to showcase a range of brands. Any others?
Robin James ok that's cool, there's the upper monster hold pomade that I wanna know so much about and you've never done it so that would be cool
Hey Robin, I have pretty long hair at the moment and pre styler with a clay or wax isn't really cutting it, so I'm looking for a good hairspray, do you have any recommendations?
If anyone replies thank you
Do you want your hair loose or with hold?
Robin James a little losse
Robin James same situation for me.
He's got a video on that.. he pretty much only uses one lol.
would you recommend baxter of california clay pomade?
I like it but I like cavalier clay more
I like it, but prefer something like Daimon Barber.
Can you review the hair product Red One hair wax?
Oh, never heard of it, will look out for it.
Why not mention if it’s for fine thinning hair?
What's about ByVilain, for example Gold Digger
Could do another ByVilain, for sure.
Ok :)
Hey Robin could you make a video about denim jackets? Also keep up the great work love all your videos.
Lockharts heavy hold pomade vs reuzel (heavy hold pomade) please....
Do a brand battle of blumaan matte paste and o'doul's matte paste
I don't have Facebook or twitter, is there any way I could enter on UA-cam or google+??
Sorry, this one's just on Twitter and Fb.
Pls do a brand battle video with hanz de fuko quicksand
Thanks for the vid Robin! Keep up the good work!
Cheers Gavin

Ben W. What’s the name of the heavy clay ur talking about?
robin its really hard to find some clay that really have heavy hold without applying hairspray for asian hair type like me :'(
I'll look to finding some really good ones!
What is the difference between mousse and thickening tonic?
Mousse creates a stronger, denser structure across the hair. Thickening tonic really just works by boosting the actual hairs.
Robin James Which is better for Thin/Fine dry hair?
I'm kind of interested in seeing you try the Dollar Shave Club hair products, because honestly I'm too scared to try them myself haha
I've never tried but will look out for it.
