- As soon as I saw this Kaido House car I knew this needed to happen! I hope you guys like this one, I think it turned out really cool. If I can only find the right color automotive pin striping it will be 100% done. Until then the lightweight stuff is going to have to work! I will get it out for a run at some point but until then I hope you enjoy the quick look at it!
You guys are all awesome and I appreciate all the great comments and questions from everyone. Really enjoying talking to you all in the comments section.

Only one word I can say, and that goes back to the 80's..... "DUDE" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL! Thanks Bob! It turned out pretty slick and was a fun one to work on. I will be getting the stripes redone and get it out for a run fairly soon!
Wow, dude! You killed it! That looks so good! I'm drooling over here!
Thanks Fil! I am glad you liked it. I knew as soon as I saw the small one this needed to happen! It was a fun project and I look forward to seeing it out sliding around out in a parking lot soon!
Hey Addam, you did an amazing job with this. Taking a die-cast miniature and taking it to a 10th scale running RC. That is a work of art.
Thanks Al! It turned out pretty slick and once I saw the small one I knew the bigger one needed to happen. I am getting some vinyl to cut new stripes for it so they will match the colors and stick a lot better. once that is done it will get out for a run. I am just afraid the ones on there will end up flapping in the breeze! Take care my friend and have a great rest of your week and stay cool!
Amazing work Addam! I love it when you get an idea and then work at it AND IT WORKS OUT!!!! Great stuff on this one buddy 🙌🏻
Thank you Craig! It turned out pretty cool and it was a fun one to do. I have been tinker with it on and off for a while now! Once I saw the little one I knew the bigger one needed to happen. I got lucky and found the kit on eBay from Japan about $100 less than I could get it from here so I took it as a sign it was meant to be and went for it!
This car is making my brain hurt! You have made an RC model, of a model of a real car that has the livery of an RC buggy that is a model of a real life buggy. How many layers deep is that? 5? 6?? It is like freaking model Inception here!!!
LOL! It is like an Ogre, it has layers! I am glad you liked it but I did not mean to hurt you!
@AddamsPlayground seriously though, you did a great job, the car looks awesome!
@@canuckchuck8836 thank you! It turned out pretty cool and I had to do it. Seeing the little one in person I knew it had to happen!!
You have a real good eye for all your custom builds great job love the way you always think outside the box
Thank you for the very kind words! On the custom ones you have to get creative as many times nothing is made for the thing you are trying to do so you have to fiddle and modify existing stuff into the right shape, size or colors to get it to work! It is fun for me as there is no manual for them, just that little kid imagination!
What an amazing build Addam! Fantastic looking and a very unique piece to add to your collection. Love the attention to detail!🙌😍
Thank Sean, glad you like it! When I saw the small one in person I knew this needed to happen!!! It is a cool design with a very nice body so it was a no brainer! I got lucky and found the kit on eBay from Japan for $100 less than it sells for here normally so I took that as a sign to get started! When the RC gods present you with a good idea and cheap kit to do it on you do not ignore that!! LOL! I have a plan for the new stripes and once those are on it will get out sliding around the parking lot.
Excellent work Addam, the car looks superb! You had a vision and made it come to fruition!👍😊
Thank Jeremey! As soon as I saw the little one I knew the bigger one needed to happen!! It was a fun one to do and I look forward to seeing it slide around the parking lot. This oppressive humidity needs to roll out of here before I got stand out in a parking lot though! I hope it is a bit drier up there for you guys! It is swampy here! LOL! Have a great weekend!
Awesome cars. Thanks for showing Addam. I'm especially intersted to see the little one run.
Thank Dirk! It was a fun build and it turned out really cool. The big one will get out and drift around in a parking soon I hope, the heat needs to simmer down a little before I want to go out and hang out in a hot parking lot! The little one is just a matchbox type car, I wish I had the skills to make it drive, that would be super cool as well!
That looks great, Addam! They would look great displayed with the Hornet buggy, too!
Yeah, I thought about getting the hornet out for the video but it was out in the garage and I did not feel like walking out there to get it! LOL!! It turned out pretty cool and I do have a better way to do the stripes down the side, I just have to get to the store for supplies. Once those are on it will get out for a drive!
Wow! This turned out awesome! Great job Addam!
Thank you! I knew the moment I got the little one a bigger version was needed! I am glad I took a crack at it, it turned out pretty cool! I am glad you enjoyed seeing it and I will get it out for a run at some point soon I hope.
This looks amazing!! I love it!! The GTR's are so awesome! I recently watched Legit Street Cars fix up his and I'm hooked! No wonder they hold their value so well and every are so easy to tune. The only one I'll ever own though will be an RC like yours haha though that's not a bad thing! You did an amazing job as always!
Thanks Ryan! It was a fun project and it turned out pretty cool. The R34 is one of mega millions lottery winning type of cars! I would love to have one but it one of those things I would only get if I had silly amounts of money to spend! LOL! The RC sized one is the biggest I will end up with and I am cool with that. No crazy insurance rates on this one LOL!!!!
Dang that thing looks absolutely awesome Addam. Love it buddy
Thanks Thad! It was a fun one to do and it turned out pretty slick! I will get it out for a run but I am going to have to get out very early one morning to run it as it is miserable humid here lately!
So awesome Addam, Great work I didn't even know they mad hot wheels like that. Great video bud. enjoyed as always..😎👍
Thank Paul! Kaido House makes all kinds of really nice 1/64 sized cars and trucks. Some very cool design and liveries on them! I could see it being a fun line to collect but I already have enough problems buying things, I do not need another! LOL! This turned out really cool and it was a fun one to do! I am glad you enjoyed it!
@@AddamsPlayground Right thats the problem with collecting stuff is so cool its easy to fall down that rabbit hole.. I'll have to check Kaido out...
This is another creation that makes me appreciate your channel and work. Like me in the channel I prefer to share special works and different things. I did not know the existence of this 1to1 car. The Tamiya sponsorship is not new, also this year in Le Mans there were a team with Tamiya stickers. Great work, BRAVO. !
Thank Nanni, I appreciate the kind words! The custom things are often the most fun and special ones to do. I don't think there was a real 1to1 car like this, I think it was just the Kaido House miniature version. It was fun to upscale it to the RC sized and it should look pretty cool sliding around a parking lot as well! Take care and enjoy your weekend my friend!
@@AddamsPlayground To you too!
It looks Awesome Addam great job
Thanks Will. As soon as I saw the little one I knew it was going to happen at some point! It turned out pretty cool and I look forward to driving it, just not super eager to bake myself in this wretched heat in the middle of parking lot! LOL!
You can paint the inside of the chrome rim black, pops the white spokes out even more. Lovely r34
I did think about that. I think I saw Glenn from Tamiya Legends do it to one of his. I was too eager to get them on there so I skipped it for now! LOL! Thanks for the tip, I do appreciate it!
Wow! That looks awesome!! - I’ll bet if Tamiya came out with this one it would start flying off the shelves. The wheels look fantastic with this car! - the more I look at it the more I love it!
Thanks Freddy! It turned out pretty slick and I can imagine with some cool carbon fiber decals from them how cool it could look!! It was a fun one to build and I will get it out for a run as soon as I get the stripes fixed on it. I am afraid these are going to end up flapping in the breeze if I got out with them!
@@AddamsPlaygroundwell definitely nice job! Just too cool. I’m a bit behind watching as I’m traveling right now but I will get caught up when I get back!
Great job Addam, it looks really good! I love those wheels!
Thank you! It turned out pretty cool and I had a good time building this one. I knew when I saw the little one a bigger one was needed!
Adam I love this livery on this 34. Normally don't like other cars especially buggy stickers on other road cars but this really works and look fantastic. Great job on this one.
Thanks! Once I saw the little one I knew the bigger one needed to happen! Like you said it just seems to work very well and it was a cool mashup! I am glad you enjoyed it!
Addam, you knocked that right out the park, it looks mega 👌
Thank Richard! I am really happy with it, just need to replace the stripes with better quality stripes. I have a method that should work great, just have to grab some supplies next time I am in town. It was a fun build and a cool idea for them to do in the first place!
@@AddamsPlayground you need the “that will do” attitude like me haha
Looks unreal Addam, great work mate! 🤓🇦🇺
Thank you! I am very happy with how it turned out. I am glad you enjoyed seeing it as well! It was a fun build and one I knew had to be done when I saw the little one!
Mate that looks absolutely incredible not to mention a model of a model of a real car with rc buggy styling awesome work Addam it looks so good would awesome on a drift track 👊
Thanks Mark! It turned pretty cool and as soon as I saw the small on I knew this needed to happen! I am glad you enjoyed it, I had a good time getting it together! I am getting ready to try and redo the stripes and once those are done then it will get our for a drive. No tracks near me that I know of so it will be sliding around a parking lot!
That came out really nice Addam! Anything tamiya hornets a beauty!
Thanks Steve! It was once of those things where I saw the little one and knew the big one had to happen! The Hornet livery is so cool and iconic!
What a brilliant idea, very unique. Great results indeed!
Thanks! Once I saw the little one I knew this needed to happen! I am glad you liked it and I will get it out for a run fairly soon!
That looks awesome Adam ....Great idea and have a good weekend.

Awesome 😮 The body, decals, wheels, well done 👏🤝
Thank you! I am glad you liked it, I am very happy with it! As soon as I saw the little one I knew this had to happen. I will get it out for a run, it should look pretty slick drifting around out there!
Amazing, great details. You did an amazing job👍

Great idea and build. Came out awesome!😊
Thanks Keith! When I saw the little one I knew this needed to happen. I then found the R34 kit on eBay for $100 less than it is sold here for so I knew it was meant to be! I am glad you enjoyed it and have a great weekend!
That is a great fun build. Great job.
Thanks Trey. I know your heart dropped a little when I said no lights on it as I am sure you would have loved to put all sorts in there! LOL! It was a fun one to do and I have a new plan for the stripes down the side that should work a lot better. once those are on then it will get out for a run video!
That Addam is a thing of beauty. I think Tamiya need to make it. 😍😍😍
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it. I had a great time building it, the custom ones can be a lot more fun. It would be pretty cool for them to do something like this. Include the little one in the kit as well, that would sell like crazy!
Sweet build ! I’ve always wanted to do Grasshopper livery on a car body .
Thanks, I am glad you liked it! That would be super cool livery to do! Maybe a smaller rally car would be a good one to do it with! That is a fun idea, I like it a lot!
That looks fantastic! Wish my painting skills were that good!
Thank you!! I am very happy with how it turned out. Most of a good paint job is all done before the paint goes on. Using good tapes and making sure everything is prepped well is the majority of the paint process. I always laughed at using the Tamiya masking tape but the stuff just works super well and is easier to work with and cut well than normal tapes. The rest of it is all about remembering you are not painting a full sized car or a house, I have to remind myself of this all the time, literally all the time!!!! 4 or 5 very light coats is so much better than one or two heavy ones but it is very hard to force yourself into stopping! An easy way to practice is using old 2 liter bottle and practicing on them. Also some of the Tamiya polycarbonate cleaner will clean up any minor paint bleeds and oopsies that might happen along the way!
Great looking little matchbox car you got there Addam! Everytime I go to a big box store I always check out what’s new in the hot wheels/ matchbox section. I really like it. I like your 1/10 scale version of it much better though. The small car has those insanely exaggerated deep dish 5 star wheels which to me,look absolutely absurd. You version looks way more legit and proper. Doesn’t bother me that you didn’t simulate the carbon fiber panels, as your paint job is just as nice and very well done! Really love what you did here buddy! 🙌😎👍🏻🔥🔥🔥🏁
Thanks Robby, I am glad you enjoyed seeing it. The wheels on the little one are a bit on the excessive side but the one on the RC are more realistic, I agree with you for sure. It turned out really cool and it was fun to supersize the little as close as I could. It would have been neat to do the fake carbon fiber but with the hard lines in some places and big curves in others I didn't have the confidence to try it. I need to practice a bit before committing to such a hard one. The gunmetal color pulls it off and it looks really slick in person. Take care and I hope you and the family are doing well!
love it mate . great project and very creative . 👍👍👍
Thanks Dom! I am glad you enjoyed it. It was a fun project and I look forward to seeing it sliding around a parking lot very soon!
Yep… this is ace… awesome work 🤩👊

What an absolute beauty! Great job dude! I will eventually get me a drift car.... Eventually. Cheers
Thank you! It turned out pretty cool and was a fun one to do. Once I saw the little one I knew the big one had to happen. I found the kit on eBay from Japan for about $100 less than it sells for here so I knew it was meant to happen! The drift ones are fun as it is a relaxing and chill way to drive and if you mess up it just turns into doing a donut and who doesn't like doing donuts!?!?!
That is a fantastic project!!
Thanks Paul, I am glad you enjoyed it! It was a fun one to work on and get it as close as I could to the little one!
That looks superb
Thanks Martin! I thought it turned out nice and it was a fun on to do! It'll get out for a run soon I hope!
Awesome job Addam that looks Superb😎
Drop the drift tires in hot water for a minute or so to soften them and they pop on easy 👍,
I've got it to drifting again but with a rear wheel drive set up, It's so much fun 😁 ,
Thank you! I am glad you liked it! Thanks for the tip on the drift tires. I have pushed them onto the regular wheels a few times with no problems, these tow piece ones a re bit thinner and I think I was a little too overzealous with that last one! I really wanted to see them on the car as it was the last piece of the puzzle! The 4wd drifting is cheating and I am fine with it. The 2wd drifting does take a lot more skill and setup but it does look fun!
The car looks great. You did an excellent job of copying the tiny scale one. You should be proud of this one.
Thank Michael, I am very happy with it. I had a great time working on it and it turned out pretty sweet! I knew once I saw the tiny one the bigger one needed to happen. I look forward to seeing it slide around in the parking lot, soon I hope.

Very creative regarding the stripes, and I actually quite like the kit spoiler, even though it's different
Superb custom project mate, please don't crash it when you go drifting! 😁 👍 👍 👍

Another thing on my Japan Honby Shop tour next weekend, I have to have one. I love how you made a running one it looks good and a great idea 💡
Thanks! It turned out pretty cool and I got as close to the little one as I could with what I was working with. I would to loved to have been able to do the carbon fiber paint but it is not a skill I posses currently. Have fun on your trip and I can see some overweight baggage fees coming your way! LOL!
@AddamsPlayground thanks I will, it's OK the wife will join and my work gives me extra baggage. It's also hot so can pack light and come home bags full 🙈
Looks great! I've never run those Tamiya drift tires, but with the PVC tires it helps to boil them. You can also get a drift tire press, but I've never used one.
Thanks, I am very happy with the way it turned out. I have put those tires on regular wheels before but the 2 piece ones are a good bit thinner that the normal ones. Lesson learned and I need to be a little less aggressive next time! I was rushing as I really wanted to see them on the car!
Well done. Great idea & really well done. 10 out of 10 👍🙂
Thank you very much, I am glad you like it! Once I saw how cool the little looked I knew this needed to happen! It turned out pretty sweet and I will get it out sliding around in a parking lot soon!
How long do you think you spent on it? I think you said you'd been working on it for a little while, but not how long. It's nice to spend time on your ides & for it to come out so well.
@@lloosah The chassis went together quickly, maybe an hour and a half on getting all that done and then the body probably took 5 or 6 hours total. None of that includes the sitting there looking at it and pondered what to do! That was another couple hours LOL!!! It was all spread out in short little sessions over a number of weeks. The paint was all done in one day but the rest was done a little here and a little there!
That looks really cool. Now I kinda want to get the GT-R body set.
Thank you! It turned out pretty slick and it was a fun build. This GTR body set has a ton of potential for all kinds of looks from mild to wild!

LOL! I completely understand that! I have a pile sitting here waiting to get built or restored as well. This one needed to happen as the tiny was too cool just to remain a tiny one! The RC version needed to happen and I look forward to sliding it around a parking lot as soon as this nasty humidity rolls out of here!

@@AddamsPlayground how come the Matchbox car has the same Hornet logo as the Tamiya Hornet?
@@jason.bochniak Kaido House is a company that make very unique and custom Matchbox sizes cars and trucks and they did this one with the Hornet livery on it. Once I saw the little one done like this I knew I needed to do a RC version of it!
@@AddamsPlayground OK, cool!
That's really cool, love what you've done with that. I have the mini Hornet GTR as well, its so detailed for a small model. Like you say the carbon panels are difficult to achieve in paint. You can get automotive carbon look wrapping film though. May be another option although tricky in some places to build. I used it on my DT-03 Hornet build on the roof which looks great, will be using it on my GR Yaris build as well as that's the same as the real cars roof.
Thank you! It turned out pretty cool and I did my best to recreate the little one with what I had to work with. I thought of the vinyl wrap but stretching it around the curved areas was going to pull on the lexan. I was worried it would end up looking like a skirt getting blown up by the wind! It looks close enough in the gun metal and something fairly easy to recreate if for some reason it ends up on its roof! Have fun with the Yaris, that kit is one my to-get list as well.
@@AddamsPlayground I'm combining the Yaris body onto the XM-01 Pro Chassis rather than use the M-05. I wanted the RC to mimic the real car as much as possible so had to be a 4WD chassis. Had originally planned to put it on the MF-01X chassis but then Tamiya announced the new XM chassis so change of plans and a better fit for the body. Chassis is built, waiting on some good weather to paint the body!
@@TonyGardnerRC that sounds even cooler! Yeah it is so nasty humid here I cannot paint right now either.

Hey Addam, an awesome looking Nissan drift machine! Love the Hornet tribute, really makes the body pop with those white & chrome wheels. You done a beautiful job. I’m almost tempted to buy the Nissan body for one of my TT-02 rally chassis, perhaps make a rally version of the awesome Nissan R34 🤔🧐🤔 I’ll be keen to see you doing some drifting, hope that one drift tyre holds out, should do, as I’d imagine they’re quite tough. Awesome my friend, awesome 😊😊. Hope you had a pleasant 4th July, the UK certainly got a 4th of July to remember! 😂😂Best wishes to you and the family.😊😊
Thanks John! I am glad you enjoyed it and I had a great time getting it down. It turned out really cool and it should be a fun one to drive. I will get that done as soon as the humidity dies down some! An R34 rally car sounds like a fun idea! That would be a interesting one to see out slinging dirt around instead of the typical tire smoke! I think the wheel on mine will be fine, I will probably be replacing it as it is just going to bug me knowing it is broken and it was my fault! We had a nice relaxing 4th and other than the power going out for a few hours from a rough thunderstorm that rolled through it was uneventful which is great! I enjoyed the quite and stress free day! Take care my friend and have a terrific weekend!!
Super cool. Im not a big fan of super wide body's. I like yours more
Thanks! There was no good way to extend the fender anymore than they are and I agree it gets to be a bit much so this one was perfect. It turned out pretty slick and I have a new plan for the stripes so once those are on there I will get it out for a run!
I have that car.It was given to me by someone I know. Have to do some rebuilding on it , though.
thankfully the TT02 parts are cheap and easy to get.
@AddamsPlayground It's gonna cost me maybe fifteen dollars to get the part I need , but that's not including shipping and handling. Is has working headlights and tail lights that work on it.
Interesting
It opens up a whole new level of kit building... I am not going to do that, my wife will kill me if I start buying tiny cars and making larger versions of them! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground ROFL
Nice job. Going to copy you. Got a R34 drift kit not built yet. Hornet was my first car and have already got my Kaido house and never thought to do the kit as a copy of the Kaido house. Also my r34 body it has a crease line across the front and back. Is yours the same.
Thank you! By all means, please recreate it! It was a lot of fun to do and it turned out really cool! The only hard part is finding the pin stripping for the sides. I may see if I can get MCI to create a set of stripes for it instead of using the pinstriping. The body does have the mold lines in it. They are caused by the 3 piece mold required to form the body on. The front and back have the undercut areas that would cause a one piece mold to get trapped inside of the shell. So the front and back section of the mold retracts after molding the shell to allow it to be removed. once painted and decals are one they are not very noticeable, you eyes are drawn to all the other details.
Awesome build Adam. Did those tail light decals go on ok for you? I took mine off and airbrushed the red and orange from the inside. Some decals don't like me so I find a different route.
LOL! It is not you! The tail light decals got a few choice words! I get why they do it to add realism but the crazy molded tail lights on some of these cars is almost impossible to get the decals on right and if you do they have a terrible tendency to peel off later from all the curves! I got them on there the best I could and so far they are holding on, we will see what it looks like in 6 months!
@@AddamsPlayground Yeah I agree. I airbrushed the orange on the inside ones and red on the outside ones. I did add the light kit and extra leds on the Tamiya light unit. I put aluminum wheels on mine. It's a nice car. I just finshed my Mustang with Drift tires and the decals on it came out great. Sometimes I have to just do a few and then come back and approch the difficult ones from a different angle. I'm in no hurry. I did use the hair dryer more though on new builds.

When did you get that kit?
I have had it for a few months. I found it one eBay from Japan for $100 less than the shops here. I have been working on it here and there for about a month or so when I had a little bit of time.
You could use a Cricut to make the stripes out of vinyl . It’s an amazing build.
I have got one too and did not even think about it. I was so far down the pin striping road I didn't think about using the vinyl cutter. I will have to head to the craft store and see if I can find the correct colors to use. Thanks for the advice! Sometimes the answer is right in front of you and you can't see it... this was one of those times!
They’re also great for making paint masks. They have vinyl just for masks , works great
@@graymatter45 I have done that a few times. I have a pile of white and black for doing that and silly lettering on things!
