Might be my favorite program. I get more improvement in my speed, athleticism, and endurance when I do it. I wish there was more use of weights to build muscle, but I guess you can't have it all. There are still weights, but they'll do more to give you tone than any kind of bulk. If you like the original P90X, this is a great follow up program.
That is why I always advise people doing this workout to always check their HRV, that way you can finish this workout without being overtrained or injured. A set of heart rate monitor and an app will tell you your HRV simple enough. The key is to maximize the workout but at the same time you don't increase your cortisol level.
I loved this program the best so far! I’ve done 10 rounds and lift more but 6 weeks? It’s great for looking like a classic athlete. Toned muscles and slim athletic sweet physique. Love how he emphasized the shoulders because that’s an important masculine feature
This is definitely my favorite program. It's hard to find functional total body workouts these days that have variety and challenge like this one. I think I've repeated it 5 times all the way through so far. That said, I still can't do the 100 reps in the final crucible round. Am looking forward to the new program (called 45 something) once it's available to just us regular beachbodyondemand members. (vs. premium) Agree the swearing is gratuitous, especially encouraging the actors to swear and cheering when they do. So I use the edited version to avoid that nonsense. My heavy weights are 10's, and 8 for medium. I like the full 2 days of rest, and if I'm doing lots of other activities like hiking, I take another day off. Legs and shoulders get worked all the time in this one.
Imagine doing this program at the gym and the employees walk up to you like “What kind of workout program are you doing with all that language in my Gym!?” And you get kicked out for it
This program killed my shoulders. Not sure why Amoila is so enamored with working them so hard like every day. That being said, he is a fantastic trainer in 645. I will stick with that program instead.
Yeah the swearing is gratuitous and completely unnecessary. I really miss the timers and countdown clocks. Also the heavy weights aren't on a P90x level many of these actors and fitness professionals in the videos are maxing out using 15lb dumbbells.
