I really like the fact that the car can be on any track, and there's no need for a special car. Road course, dirt track, and oval track is all the same car. That right there as an owner I see cost savings. Way to go NASCAR in bringing this car out and can't wait to see it race.

Finally... Stock car racing is back! (Kinda) the new transaxle and single lug wheels is definitely not stock on any of these cars. But they new independent rear suspension is stock on the Shelby and ZL1. idk abt the soccer mom camery tho.

I kinda laughed at the “putting stock back in stock” thing. But to be honest, the cars do look more like their street counterparts than the gen 6.
Eh they just look like sleeker gen 6s. They should create chassis for each manufacture and a wheel base that matches each of cars. Then they should create a fiberglass replica of the street car and then stick it over the chassis. It may not be a real Mustang Chevy etc. But I would damn well look like one.

The GEN 7 is beautiful and remembers the cars from 2006 to 2012, if they put the CoT spoiler and leave it from the beginning to the end, better than the GEN 6 (2013 - 2021).

NASCAR decision making has been HORRIBLE the last 20 years, but I have to give them credit. Things are starting to go in the right direction. The cars are looking more like their actual models, the composite bodies to allow maximum beating and banging, controlling costs more, more road courses and short tracks with less cookie cutter 1.5 miles, and better on track racing. Now if they could just do one more thing, which is ensure a green flag finish each race. All they have to do is make a rule that if there's a crash on the last lap, either A- the caution doesn't come out because it's not posing a danger to oncoming traffic, or B- if the caution comes out, they re-rack them. Ensure a "non electronic scoring" finish each race, and Nascar will be great again.

Yep, I'm an old race fan who longs for the stock cars of yesteryear. But after turning away from NASCAR years ago I'm going to give this a shot, especially if there's more road racing.

Penske switched from Dodge to Ford for 2013, which left Robby Gordon's race team as the only one left that was willing to run Dodges. Because of this, Dodge pulled out of the sport entirely.

If there was a REAL benefit to the manufacturer to be in NASCAR, trust me-THEY WOULD BE THERE! But Dodge has read the tea leaves and, sorry to say, NASCAR has been slowly dying! As I mentioned before, look at all of the sponsor money that has left the sport.
I was a MUCH bigger fan in the past. It used to be like calling a radio station to buy tickets to the summer race at Daytona. I went to the last FIRECRACKER 400 there in 1992-Petty's last race there was my FIRST one! My last race was there in 2017 when Dale Jr, retired. I had Winston, Nextel, Section 405 (??) seats just over the start finish line from 1998 til '17.
You should have seen how poorly attended that last race was in summer '17....

I think TRD and Gazoo Racing are separate development groups. TRD is the US one.

Love the new bodies!!! I wish they would stick with the 5 lug wheels rather than go to the one lug though. NASCAR is it's own entity separate from F1 and Indy and the 5 lugs add that little more challenge to not only the pit stops but the sport when it comes to track position. Plus they say that they want to mirror the production car as much as possible, well I have never seen a Mustang, Camaro or Camry with one lug.

F1 fan here! I've never been a fan of nascar. But they got my attention this time. I hope it works for nascar. I live 35 minutes drive away from the TX motor speedway and I've never been to a race. That might change.

Last year the photos of like the test car what's prototype 2 and just a generic body. That was built just for that reason

well, if NASCAR decides to show the "closer to the stock" terms further, they need to dictates that the drivetrain should be excatly the same with their production counterparts.

Nice to see chevy took the time to develop a camaro body for the 2 seasons before they discontinue the camaro platform
there's one thing that i would've put on the cars, it's a roof air bailer with an inside the car channel that goes into the bottom rear bumper to feed with fresh air the cooling system of the car behind when they're drafting to avoid overheating. that would allow them to work together for longer and safer for the engines. it would help the cockpit to stay cooler as well. but that's just me.

With one lug they need to put the gun on it about the same length of time as it takes then to do 3 or 4 lugs currently to make sure it gets tight enough.

I personally hate the single lug nut, I always loved the sound during pitstops plus it’s not stock but more of a supercar thing.
It about safety nothing else to it. The wheels are 18 inchs and are aluminum so with live pit stops to much of risk not getting all 5 tight properly and that well cause vibration and cracking and wheel go flying
