the first e power chord is an open e5 power chord, not on the fret. and they also play F as the last note on the descending chromatic run, not 2 open e
Someone else pointed out the open E5 as the first note! I think I just learned it this way a long time ago and never really questioned it. That's interesting about the F instead of open E. I see some other people play it that way, but I've seen a lot with the open E as well. I'm not too sure which one is correct, but if you have a reliable source you could point me to for that I'd love to see it. Thanks for the feedback!
Indeed! Don talks about that a little bit in the explanation and why he chooses to alternate pick when he plays it. But if you want to be most authentic, down picking is for sure the way to go!
Ha! I was going to say the same thing although I personally also prefer alternate picking just about everything. Alternate picking makes me feel like I’m playing the guitar…Down picking makes me feel like I’m attacking it. There are good reasons to use both techniques 😉
