When I was a kid, I remember seeing all of this while my mom drove us home after visiting family in the city. So watching this, brought me so much comfort now that I live in San Diego and miss home a lot. Thank you for this!

I lived in the Bay Ridge Towers until 1989. Sold everything and bought a small ranch in Montana. Believe me I don’t miss the stressful life and driving. It gave me PTSD. However I do miss the food.
As an urbanist, I'm thrilled about the Brooklyn Heights Promenade at 41:31. It's a great idea to create a cantilever over the road to extend a walking area above it, while also hiding a significant part of the noise from the road. Bravo!
Just came upon your channel. Beautiful day, nice steady and clear video. I love well done "Ride Alongs" around the Beautiful "Big Apple"! Cannot wait to watch your other videos.
The one time I had an opportunity to drive the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, with the view of the pre September 11 skyline ....and I accidentally took the lower deck. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ..
The Verranzo narrows bridge used in the film Saturday Night Fever. Another great sightseeing video that makes me feel I am in the passenger seat alongside you.
I've been to NYC many times for shows and to visit friends. I can't make it there as often as I would like to, and these videos give me the sights and sounds that are the pulse of the city. Thanks for posting.
NYC was the area I had to do in my first commercial truck 🚚 job. Delivery of frozen foods to various stores in the boroughs of NYC. Literally right from the frying pan to the fire 🔥 😊
Awesome video, great stuff, thanks for the effort in making this, looks like a beautiful day. I live on Perth Western Australia and will be coming to New York Sept/October 2024. I’ve been to the States a few times but never been to NYC before so really excited to see it all. That first big view of the Manhattan skyline, wow! Not a bad place to be stuck in traffic. Thanks again great work

Keen to get back to the US too, I am fond of it. I hear Americans saying "Stateside" I can use it with my American friends. We have states in Australia but when you hear stateside, that's the USA.
When you come here, don't limit yourself to Manhattan. There are lots of great neighborhoods that you can explore in Brooklyn and Queens. As far as Manhattan is concerned, Harlem is interesting too.

Start at Home Avenue (where you wouldn't believe the prices of homes), take a right on Fingerboard Road, go to first light (there's a deli on the right), then take a left on Tompkins Avenue, then follow the signs.
That was fun. The nice parts of staten island are NOT by the Vz bridge, it's way out by Tottenville and that area. The Gowanus expressway please, LOL -- will it ever improve? They've only been working on it for 40 years..... that i know of. Maybe longer.
I use to live a few blocks away from where the video started in Staten Island, left there 20 years ago. I'm in central NY now, 15 minutes from Cooperstown. I could never put up with that traffic again. The only things I miss are the bagels and pizza.

Some of us it was a requirement of our jobs. Delivered frozen foods to the grocery stores in the five boroughs of NYC so had no choice but to be there 😮😊
Considering the length of the video I would have thought placing a window in the corner of the screen showing a tasteful display of young ladies dressed in bikinis and high heels tickling each other would have been a perfect addition to this scenic drive.

Crazy how Staten Island is still NYC. It feels super suburban and residential compared to the rest of NYC
It looks like New Jersey ;)

I don’t know why I love watching these videos but I do and I find them relaxing… which is ironic because I hate driving and being in my car as it is 😂
Maybe you like the views, but the traffic and driving itself is stressing?

The streets are well maintained. It makes driving a pleasure.

Check out the Bayonne Bridge! It looks just like Sydney harbor Bridge without the stone pillars. It's been raised for bigger ships!🤭

Close to 20 years since I left NY and now Brooklyn looks so different to me.

Great ride.
Great video, I even enjoyed the traffic jam. I’m just happy that I didn’t have to do the driving myself. 😄
Love NYC how many streets have tolls i live near London UK so i guess driving in NY is just as strenuous 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Great job! Congrats!
Thanks 🎉
Always surprises me the number of overhead lines you see in the states

2:54 - Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Completed 1964, central span 4,260 ft., longest in the world until surpassed by the Humber Br. (G.Br) 1981.
How hard is it to find a parking spot in Manhattan? It seems like its a lottery, looks like less stressful option is to use public transportation.

6:11There was at least 5 seconds between the traffic moving off and the white SUV moving, and not a horn was honked. What's happened to NYC drivers?!
You can drive from Long Beach CA to downtown LA & it would look almost identical to this video. 🚗

1:49 i dont get it. Manhattan is west of Staten Island. so why would you go East? you're not heading toward thee shore.
Why did you get off the BQE? It would've taken you straight to the bridges or tunnel into Manhattan?
🥰👍❤👍🥰
Jesus Christ man, you already committed traffic violations within the first two minutes. Rolling on a stop sign (twice) and speeding on 25mph street!
How much is the ride ?

Nice video! Is this rushhour or is this normal traffic?
This looks like very light ideal commute traffic. It could be way worse on this route.
Probably off peak, cus I've seen how bad traffic gets.
It looks busier than is because there were many accidents it seems. Especially at 40:46. Why are these clowns blocking two lanes?
@robotx9285 Same here! First commercial truck job was in these boroughs of NYC. I have been in some very nasty jam ups.
Why are you crossing solid white lines and crossing double solid white lines while in the freeway?

Why are the telephone wires in Northeastern cities so much uglier than in the rest of America?
the unsightliest I've come across is more mid-western Ton o' rot where rotten insulation dangled everywhere from the MASSES of overhead cabling
Same in Midwest
maybe cramping cables together due to cozier settlements..?
Ai all those wires above the ground is ugly .
Is the ground so hard you cant dig in over there?
