- Опубліковано 29 сер 2024
- We are 18 weeks out from the Mr. Olympia 2023 today and I'm taking you guys through a quad focused leg day! Showing you how to actually grow your legs. Why you have small legs is simpler than you think and in this video you're going to see how I train with intensity while also not overloading the weight. Just because you stack the entire machine and can do it doesn't mean you're strong and going to grow. Drop the ego!

Nick is really smart about his training principles. Pausing training for days at some point, giving the body a break when needed. Priotizing controlled reps and full ROM over weight / ego lifting.
Great stuff here.
Please consider bringing back the quick tips that you used to post…love those
The training philosophy is now very similar to what Kai Green and Phil heath have said in the past. Concentrate on the contraction, you're not a power lifter, spot on 👍
But... but... but I need to look impressive for the bros at the gym. They be 'miring when I lift heavy-a$$ weight and quarter-rep. ☹
Let’s go mutant , bringing the pain..🦍
We're bodybuilders not powerlifters. That is so true.
maybe the people that he sees aren't ego lifting but powerlifting or strength training. he forgets no everyones a bodybuilder lol
@@lionheart93nah he's specifically talking about all the dudes that egolift a bunch of heavy weights while their goal is actually muscle growth and not strength
Nick is great for the sport, his legs hold him back when he leans out
I always agree with Nick. When you have experience and results you can talk and give advice. As it happens, all the so-called "fitness influencers", teenagers without muscles, instead compete on social networks to see who can lift the most weight. And so they surely satisfy their little ego, but also condition the audience not to know how to train.
True. Unfortunately mind muscle connection is nothing you can just teach people. You have to feel it and chase it for years. And see the results.
"Lift heavy as fuuuuck" is easier to explain and you will convince alot more people to believe it.
once you have years of experience under your belt you can give advice if your training anything less than 5 years you have no business giving advice
Excellent advice… damn exactly opposite of what I thought for years… definitely going to experiment with these principles…thank you.
these principals are not new they should be used with regular training
A lot of wisdom in this video 👏👏
🗣Well said Nick in other words it's the reps and control and strength and form!!💯👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🤌🏿🤌🏿💪🏿✌🏿
His arm holding onto the leg curl is bigger than my leg jajaj
Maybe if you take the doses he takes, you would not be here comparing
@@merchantgold6327 no matter what doses you take you are not looking like Nick Walker 😂Did you skip biology class something called genetics 🧬
Not maintainable in long run
Nick short legs wallker
i belive you
Hey, the Beast ! I'm working on it, already got good results, Nick on his way to Mr. Olympia...👊🔥
short and sweet... sweet!
Hope you make a vid of your arm secrets..someday..
what goes thro yo mind trainin em, what sequence, what angles, what energy levels..
somewhere down the line the newbies will thank you..
maybe you have so much secrets, you could come up with a book when you plan to retire..
Better quality video! And so much value you give us through the video with your advices!
I really like the way you train. I have been training with jonni Shreve and he has me train the same way. I am not a bodybuilder I am just an average man in his late 40s trying to be healthy and live longer but this style of training I love and it's been working for me. I have went from 360 to 232 in almost 3 years and still pushing hard and trying to be better. You should do a Collab with Jonni Shreve because you guy's train so much alike. By the way you are looking great and will kill it at the Arnold...
360 to 232 in 3 years is too slow. Way too slow. I lost 100lbs in 8 months. I was close to 300 got down to 196 in 8 months. Your diet matters most.
@@rockon8174Dude it’s a marathon, not a sprint for weight loss. People who do crazy crash diets, usually pile the weight right back on…….
Also that’s a dick move to tell someone on their weight loss journey, they’re moving too slow.
That shit people say on the internet….😵💫
He probably has less saggy body fat from going super slow an training
Nick is looking good in these updates. He has a lot of mass and conditioning he will place high, higher than Samson and Nick might win that's how good he looks.
You talking about “Flat as a board Samson” who won the Arnold this year??
@@endeavourzen6934 Yep Nick beat Samson in the O so it made no sense that Nick "lost" to Samson at the Arnolds, Arnold rigged that show.
Most underrated bb channel!
Nick after he retires (hopefully doesnt fkn die from ⚙️) - could be a top bb’ing coach
Dude really brought his physique to an insane level
cant argue his perspective on leg training.. in facts thats my leg day get down...
He said naturally happy 😁 😊
I see the RP influence! I love it
Solid Advice
Nicks waist is looking a LOT tighter this year. Given his control of it on stage I think he can afford to come in full as a house this year. It’s very possible he can take it this year, a lot depends on how Derek looks from the front
He won't be able to do much about it unfortunately lol, it's only gonna get worse
@@germanrud9904His waist literally has only gotten better since he turned pro.
@@daanvanrijn4117think his waist was dialed in last year. Idk if it gets much better for his build
Great video and instructions! Thanks
Great video, brings everything back into perspective.
4:08 😂😂 thats literally every commerical gym
1st lesson for a common quad training: always keep a puke bucket near you
The production quality tho! 🤘🏻💪🏻
We!!!’On!!!!🤠🤙🤙🤙🥳🥳👌💯💯💯💪😀👍Nice 😊
Nick has there been a colab with mike van Wyck ? Same language , same gym HD Muscle
Good video.
🗣Nick your workouts are progressive overload!!!💯👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🤌🏿💪🏿💪🏿
This why i flucks with Nick. Pretty successful dude a showing footage of him using water from the fountain. Legendary
Tap water rules 😂
Very good editing...and top content.
Solid video. Cool new layout!
Great facts about kind and muscle connection
Killing it mate
Good guy, great advice
killing it ,some good pointers, txs
wow wonderful amazing big quad !!!!!! training movement very good......💪bigger muscle bigger pump
🗣that right Nick consistency tell them consistency!!!!👏🏿👏🏿💯💯✌🏿💪🏿💪🏿🤌🏿🤌🏿 u forgot to tell them to eats!!!!
I 💯 know the way your talking about training your guads work this is how I grow mine in the off season when growing.
That haircut is ours! Lol😅
Mutant is definitely the correct term for this mutant lol human freak!!! Seems unreal lol
I'm a veteran bodybuilder but I see people in the gym everyday ego lifting. They do not understand or refuse to understand muscle isolation ! I have stopped giving them advice because they never take it. People in this world now are so screwed up that they are doing everything backwards! You cannot get strong until you lift lighter weight first!!!!!
I DONT GIVE EGO LIFTERS ADVICE I JUST WATCH THEM BURN😂
@@leelunk8235 I'm a trainer and I give people advice when they ask for it. The problem is, I'm wasting my time with many of the young people because they act like they could care less, and go back to lifting heavy weight that they cannot handle for any type of proper form whatsoever.
@@spoilerman8975 TRUE
Thank you Nick 🎉🎉🎉
Cool as Nick,you make sense,💪💪💪💯
All right, Nicolas, you have knowledge, I admire it, but remember, I'm writing this to everyone, everyone is different, everything works differently for everyone, this one will work like a horse with unimaginably heavy weights and only then will his legs grow, while the other will only do it to pump legs or something else and it's enough to be big, that's why I repeat, everyone is different, cheers
I think everyone would benefit from less weight and more control
He said "ahhhh" lmfao
Yeah we all know the secret to grow Nick trust me !! ;);)
Nick, From you just standing there in the beginning of the video, your muscles roundness remind me very much of Phil Heath’s and that’s pretty big time saying right there. Great work!!🎯👍👍
Waiting for crazy legs
Could u please do a detailed video on all ur shakes and supplements you take from the time u wake up in the morning until the time lay down for bed? I’d definitely love to know what’s in ur poop 💩 shake and how much to put in it. Thank you bro 🙏🏽 love ur work. Keep it up champ!
The 290’s!! Gezzus.
🗣That's right tell them it's levels to this shit!!💯🤌🏿🤌🏿✌🏿✌🏿💪🏿🫡
Remember its not about the weight. Its about lunging with no weight and focusing, contracting and feeling the mind muscle connection. Oh and the Grade A Boss Sauce 😆
Just messing. Nothing but love and respect ✌
How long do you bulk for?
24/7/365
Cool
Mutant🙏🙏🙏
Well I you would be competing against Ronnie you would definitely „see the need for using weights on lunges“ 😝
The veins on this guy calf are crazy lol
The secret; SAUCE.
You know it
nick forgets he weights 300lbsl lol that is a workout in itself
2023 Mr O!
Rich piana also said that it all about the pump, contraction, musclemind connection not about the weight
Kudos
Mr Olympia 2023 easyy
Ppl must understand that to get big like nick its about genetics , he is gifted.. And…. To get big u have to eat eat eat 6 or more meals a day and train hard 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You forgot to mention, that blasting roids like there is no tomorrow is most important.
@@IxAmxOlek So why alot of people take grams and grams of roids and they just gain water 😂😂😂😂 Bro roids cannot improve an athlete’s ability or skills , Many factors determine athletic ability , including genetics, body size ,age , diet and how hard the thlete train… All Pro bodybuilders are genetics gifted brother.. Roids help alot but depends how they are used and what your training and diet is like…
@@cruzjr7229 of course you won't blow up like this guy if you just use PEDs and do nothing. The sad truth tho is, that almost anybody can achieve an extremely muscular build by doing proper steroid cycles and training but it's risky, needs knowledge and good doctors hence why most people stay away from this shit. This guy pays top dollar for the best stuff and best doctors to watch him so ye... Genetics is a factor with limits but he is blasting like crazy. No amount of food or training alone will yield such a result. Still needs effort. Not dismissing that.
@@IxAmxOlekhé is blasting alot of shit man same as dallas
@@cruzjr7229Roids can't improve your ability or skill? You'll be faster, stronger, and heal quicker. What the fuck are you on about?
Hiss
I could've closed my eyes, heard him talk and swear it was Antoine lol.
The "secret" to build big quads is the put some weight resistance and extend your leg. Hamnstrings is to do a flexion of your leg. But dont tell anyone its a "secret"...
Ya man, good info! I agree 100% not that it matters lol
Literally the entire reason you’re not getting bigger legs, or any bigger muscle for that matter is one of only 3 reasons:
1. You’re not doing enough work to stimulate muscle growth.
2. You’re not getting stronger weekly on each lift you do for legs.
3. You’re not recovering because you’re not eating enough to gain at least 0.5 to 1 kilo a week in bodymass weekly & you’re not sleeping properly.
Dont sacrifice muscles and get flat for Mr O Nick . In stage you have to show your freak muscles like Branch Warren
Good
I’m worried about those veins in your legs man. They look varicose which can be a killer.
Upper chest and lats please
Olha a voz do cara
🔥🔥🔥👍💪
Well said mutant. Ego lifters go home!
Your only 5-6 tall
Maybe if he squatted his outer sweep would be better?
Gonna do legs tomorrow, hell yeah.
Me too
Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman didn't "squezze".
👍🏻👍🏻💯💯
How long of a rest are you taking between sets?
HES A PRO BODYBUILDER..THEY DONT TAKE LONGER THAN A MINUTE BETWEEN SETS
Hace mucho sentido
My small legs are proportional to my whole small body😂
The fact that i have to write a comment instead of enjoying the video because of your videographer BLASTING the music like a late night cheap infomercial and then when Nick talks he lowers the sound to where we cant even hear Nick talk??? 🥴
Nick is really quiet and the music is really loud. Sucks wearing headphones watching this.
Vlog Olympea Nik
Olimpya
This is like the opposite of a Tom Platz leg workout
And it shows. No one today really has the detail as well as size in the legs that Tom did.
@@Shad0wSt0rm360 Platz has coached many bodybuilders, and none of their legs looked even close to his. At the End of the day it was Platz's genetics that made his legs so awe inspiring, not his training.
Why platz can't do that to his other body parts,it's genetics mostly,Paul dillet had amazing legs with minimal training.
@@sw-gz9pscoaching only goes so far. Its on the person themselves to actually push into that level of intensity of Platz
Beat Derek you can do it bro I believe in you
If Ramy participated and brought his size, good drying, and modifications to his body, he will take the first, God willing, because there is no champion of Ramy’s size yet, with all due respect to all champions
Ka re Nick Walker thik bade
But still, i find it quite hard to contract on leg press without locking out. Anybody any suggestions?
Try different foot placements. Try a little more open than shoulder width and with toes facing a little outwards, letting the knees coming to you deep and keeping the butt on the rest.
Try with the feet closer to the bottom of the platform and not going too deep.
But the main thing I would try to do is doing every rep slow, negative even slower. Forget the weight, only you know about weights, your body does not. Tension is the key. Weights come afterwards.
I would never lock an leg exercise. Every time I see people doing this in the gym I feel instant pain myself xD.
Less weight.
Did Nick forget to mention the massive PED cycle that he takes? Doesn't that play a major role in building his massive size?
Being this big literally makes you a Handicap. I bet you couldn't even make it to the beach I walk to for surfing.
If you wanted to become as massive and freaky as you possibly could you would want to look like Nick Walker
