I really listen to what Nick has to say. He's a professional bodybuilder and his advice is priceless. I lowered my weight as well and really focused on the squeeze and the muscle contraction. At 53, nearly 54 I look better now than I ever have. I'm no bodybuilder by any means, but I take my workouts fairly seriously. I'm 5'9 and am a solid 205. Love Nicks videos and always take good advice from a bodybuilding mind! 💪
Same here, absolutely. Ever since I’ve controlled my reps slower especially on the negative portion particularly biceps training I have never stopped cause I know it’s been working better that way and increasing my strength, shape and size of the muscle. Nick is all the worthy of legendary status.
At 40, my body started breaking down and I just couldn't heal from all the weight. Working out with slower reps, and more of them, has been the answer to round out and mature my muscle shapes. Tempo and mind-muscle connection is really everything.
young guys listen to Nick you do not need to die moving massive weight all the time to grow I wish that advice had been around when i was younger, wouldnt have gotten hurt so many times
Love ya Nick… Some (many) people, always think it’s about the weight 🤦🏼♂️ of course we know all about this.. but clearly we know, especially in bodybuilding that it’s more about the “feel.” It’s why you can find much smaller men who are stronger than a guy much larger than them. Ego, will always be man’s worst enemy lol. But anyways, just wanted to say.. looking great brother! Best of luck to you in the new year ahead, both in professional/personal life. 🙏 GOD Bless bro.
Nick training technique is the best in the business. He thinks logic . It’s not about who lifts the biggest weight from A to B. He is not a power lifter. The results speaks for themselves. Nick is the only one that does Stiff legged properly. The rest come all the up and lost the tension off their hams.
Just the other day I seen this one guy leg pressing with his feet at the very bottom of the pad and he was even a little tall as well. He seemed to be struggling or in pain. I tried to help him by telling him if I drop my feet that way I get a lot of pain in my knees. He wouldn’t listen and kept doing it his way. Some people have to learn the hard way but when they do it’s usually too late.
let me tell ya brother, straight leg deads with 225 ain't no joke. Then you add tempo sets? bro that's hard work that the majority of lifters don't want to even try. Tempo work on the negative is always where you get the most bang for your dollar. I know several strongman coaches who program tempo work whenever someone is stagnating. Solid work.
The reason you do so much less weight on the squat variations as compared to the legpress, is because you are heavy af. you are not only pushing up the plates, but also your own body. in the stiff leg you are not only resisting the bar, but also the weight of your torso.
Nick, really like your controlled lifting style and am rooting you for the win (bad grammar intended for jokes). Just wondering, do you design your own routines and just refer to your coach Matt for diet and supplement advice? You used to train together quite a bit in the beginning, but haven’t seen that in a while, probably due to his many other commitments and not being semi exclusive.
Ok Nick we will see what that lead you to we Talk again after Olympia. I Hope For you you will not regret. In my opinion you need Weight too. Good Mix. And Leg improvement.
"ur'e losing fans cuz u dont lift as heavy anymore".. If anything you should get more fans from this. People are still sleeping on this approach. They will come around at some point no doubt. This "new" style u train with is next level
hmm idk the editing got worse here for some reason. we like to see the whole exercise from the first rep all the way to the final rep, like you used to show us. same verbal knowledge which is good. but not overlapping you doing the workout. this is what seperated you from the others. we want to see the whole exercise and hear the intensity.
I dont think Nick would be build his Phisique on this type of Training and is really sad to see him to advertise and recommend this excesive range of motion for targeted muscle group with so little load and low volume. For young Gym Goers i recommend inspiring from Nick old Training where he put all the tension on the target muscle and move with proper range of motion for this muscle group with maximum amount of load and volume that he can handle. I remember this golden Videos where he is puking on leg days from this intensity and the pump in his legs was incredible. Sorry but this is just a joke for me. Dr. Mike must be paying good amount of money to advertise his Training app on every UA-cam and Spotify channel. We all have seen how the champions are made from the past and this is just a b....t for me. Lunsford is the true Inspiration in this sad times of BB. This is just my opinion.

Holy cow !!!!! Legs look 👀 incredible
Perfect form. No momentum and stressing the negative, or lowering, portion of the repetition.
It's actually scary how deep you're breathing after doing RDL's. stay safe
Just too much weight for the heart to pump blood efficiently
