Every time I hear a brand rep say "We LOVE small creators & growing with them." I just hear, "We LOVE people without an agency looking out for them. They don't even know what's going on & we can keep them in the dark as they grow." That's why what you do is so important for new creators in this world.
@@EleeBot I mean. He's earning from youtube. Qw watch youtube for free with mostly skippable ads.I don't think he's completely wrong... But He ain't charging us directly. Its indirect. Just throwing this out there : I'm sitting at work with some free time between tasks and have found myself watching your videos back to back. I'm a small streamer. I recently made affiliate by reaching out and inviting people to come watch, never asked for a follow or anything, just giving off the "Hey why don't you drop in and say hello in chat or something sometime?" vibe. It worked out. I went from zero views to a consistent 10-20 full time viewers over the coarse of 2 weeks with active engagements and conversations the entire time. That being said, I'm watching your videos here and writing things down like a recipe. Things I do, don't do, should do better, etc. Of course I want to make it a career; I've worked to the age of 30 as I am now never happy with where I am. I love gaming. I love people. Streaming just goes hand in hand with that. If it turns into something big and I can make a living off of it, so be it, but for now it's something I want to take off but I'm just going to have fun while trying. So this isn't a "Hey! Can you answer a few questions for me?" so much as it's a...Hey, thanks for the helpful advice. It's clear, to the point, honest, and pretty valuable for small streamers like myself to build a goal to work towards.
Oh don't worry my friend I took notes! 1. What is the best way a creator can spark up a conversation with a brand? Start with your pitch! 30 seconds of who you are, what you do, the focus of your channel, what you want from the brand. 2. As a Brand Rep what is your biggest pet peeve from creators? Don't go into a conversation with no plan on how to collaborate with the brand. Research the brand! How will the brand fit into what you're currently producing. Have a creative plan, where do you want your channel to go and how can the brand help you. 3. Do you ever work with small streamers? Yes, they're excited about being able to grow with the streamer. Talent > numbers. Building the relationship organically during the streamer's growth period is important! 4. What's one small piece of advice that you would give to someone prepping to come to an event and network? Have the 30 second pitch down for your channel that makes you valuable and unique. What separates you? Do brand research!!! Value proposition to how our brands can integrate.
This was one of my favorite videos of yours, Harris! I appreciate how we can hear this advice straight from the brand and partnerships managers themselves in this video. One of the biggest issues I find myself facing is how to make that initial push to start up a conversation. It's one thing to proudly showcase my Partner status, and it's a whole other thing to understand and showcase what is so different and unique about my brand. I'm definitely going to take some time to reflect on my brand and cultivate my 30-second pitch so that I can approach future interactions with more confidence. Thank you so much for making this video, I definitely learned a lot!

Thank you for taking all the time you commit not just to help yourself grow but go out of your way to help those around you, it's what this world needs. That's what i appreciates about you
can say this works, went to pax aus as a medium mixer streamer, didn't think i would get any sponsorships/partnerships and ended up walking out with corsair and ubisoft (thanks to contacts in the r6 community) the advice handed here is so obvious but it is usually the obvious ideas that no one thinks of. one thing i could add onto is be confident, companies want to see people who are energetic, easy going but also confident. if you can go up to them and state what you are there for without stuttering or mumbling thats a good start!
We all have to start somewhere as a small content creator. When I first started I had only 1 view. Just be Consistent that is key!!! Keep it up. God bless 🙏🏼

Honestly what sponsor I believe would be amazing to work woth would be Logitech. Im in love with their workability with mouse's and webcams, and are always a good dollars spent to ease of use ratio. I use mostly logitech peripherals, so being able to be sponsored by them would help me more positively reflect that, and it would help produce higher quality content as i want to expand from Twitch to UA-cam with more up close and personal footage

Hey, I've seen your videos pop up on my home feed every now and again, and whilst in a boring meeting i decided to give this one a watch. I've never watched one of your videos, i don't have a twitch and i'm not looking to get sponsored, but wanted to watch YOU and see what you do. I know that its nice to hear feedback from people whether its good or bad, because that's how we grow. There's no bad feedback from me here though. You were very clear, there's no crazy editing to keep peoples attention and you told people what to expect when going in to the video. A format that i'm trying to do also. Even though i'm not looking to get sponsored by anyone yet, i still took notes and found to be asking myself "If i can sell myself to people i don't know 1 on 1 at an event, then maybe i can sell myself and what i do to every single viewer that watches my content". So that's what i took from this video, working out why i'm unique from other people in my niche, why the audience should subscribe to me, and what they're going to get if they do. Needless to say, you've earned a subscriber here.

Mindblowing idea to bring this to your audience. That’s why your audience is so captivated by you. YOU GENUINELY CARE!!! Deeply thx for that. Happy streaming!
Not sure why I'm only just seeing this but great video as always. I find this sort of thing quite difficult mostly because I'm quite anti-social or should I say more of an introvert. Also not a great talker and find it REALLY difficult just going up to someone and introducing myself. Really hoping I can get over that in the coming months and years. During my time as a Mixer partner I saw a lot of people thinking they would get extra merch and 'free stuff' by wearing a partner hoodie or t-shirt and I've never really thought that company reps saw that as a must to working with them. With my journey on Twitch only just starting there's a long way to go before I'm likely to be in a position to talk to companies but I have a game plan and know what I need to do. Thanks again.
Thanks to the advice you put on this video i was able to partner with a local venue to host, broadcast, and commentate for events and tournaments they are having. Keep up the great work. Thank you for all your help.
Thank you Stream Doctor! Going into the streaming/content creating industry can be intimidating especially when you have no background in approaching businesses and explaining your brand. This is so helpful and informative! Love to hear the other side's perspective and what these companies are really looking for. Now is just a matter of how to reach out to them during a pandemic when there are no conventions!
Harris great job on this video i've always wondered about these exact questions. To find out that they want to work with smaller streamers like Norzewolf and others is encouraging. I have a twitch channel that is mostly focused on FPS games and talking about the good and bad of games of the genre. Awesome content.
Such a great video! While I’m not a gamer, all your advice still applies to my industry and much of it has been my experience. I’m a very small channel “small creator”, yet I’ve done several brand deals and have a few ongoing sponsorships. Everything you said is spot on.
Great video man. My stream has started to become something I'm proud of because of some of the tips you've given out. One question I have is, what is a good balance between a job, family, and twitch streaming if I'm wanting to grow as a streamer? What is a healthy balance?
Stream for 2-4 hours after work and then on the weekends dedicate that time to family. When you start expanding enough and you can start paying for everything you need from twitch, then in my opinion stay at your job for 2 weeks but save most if not all of that job money then quit your job, and start streaming for maybe 4-8 hours a day. But keep those weekends dedicated to your family, or you can stream weekends and dedicate other days to family.
NGL, I was wary of your channel when I first found it but you've proven to me that you really do know what you're doing. Good channel, good video. Thanks for the tips buddy. If I get bigger I'll make sure to shout you out.
Man I love your channel, been following it a lot lately, I love the quality, I love the scripting and I love the progression which has helped me so much. Your channel is really underrated and deserves more subs. Will ensure to promote you on all my social media
The one question I have: Say you aren't in a position to go to big conventions or events. And so you try to approach these brands via email or social media. You have your pitch and you got everything they said about knowing what you have to offer. But you don't have the connections to reach out to the right people. What do you do? Just send them a tweet? PM them on Instagram? A lot of companies don't have emails readily accessible to the public. So how do you contact these companies the same way you would in person?
Such valuable information. It will help a lot of creators and me. Thanks for great stuff and keep going. Found your channel month ago and enjoying to watch it.
I love your channel! I'm a freelancer and just tapping into the streaming scene recently. My freelance business is covering my expense + investment and savings already so streaming my game is mostly for enjoyment. Your channel gives me insight how to take it from fun to full on business model while having fun. Thank you!
Thank you for the advice. I’ve heeded everything that was said. I don’t stream or post content daily because of work takes most of my time. As I make content or stream I want to make someones day and have a place where people can come to hangout, have fun, and just be themselves. The world today is too judgmental and a lot of stuff is happening and people should have a place where they can escape that. I welcome everyone who comes by to watch me stream or watch content I’ve made. Again, thank you for the advice bro.
You're by far my favorite UA-camr//Content Creator man. Just have to point out that 6 people (ATM) were wearing Twitch Partner t-shirt. Keep doing your thing.
I currently barely have any viewers (if any at all) and only have a handful of followers/subscribers, I find it hard to get time to work on my YT and Twitch channels since I have a full time job and 3 kids lol, but I always come away from your videos feeling positive about using my spare time to create the little amount of content I do atm, because I feel that every bit of advice and information you give is extremely helpful and positive! I'm thankful you did this over just going to enjoy the event and push your own work. To answer your pinned comment, I'd currently say Go-pro since I have a very cool idea that I want to do with my stream. Not sure if anyone's done it yet, but I don't want to put it out there yet, I want to be the first to do it lol.
Just started looking into how to start streaming and found this video very useful as well. Definitely going to check out your other stuff! Keep up the great content! 👍🏼
This is legit helpful man! Thank you so muuuch!!! Especially here in my country, large (and also small) brands don't do that much sponsorship for content creators.
Amazing insights. Thank you so much for doing this. It's mind boggling to see just how many people approach these companies just looking for free stuff and not realizing what they should be doing. Networking, if dobe correctly is something truly amazing. When a creator and a brand mesh great things can happen.
I assumed while watching your video that it would have millions of views as it's a question I am sure most channels are looking for. Thank you for sharing with us. (yes I know it's a year old but it's still valuable and current) stay safe and kind regards. John 😊
Sounds like a standard interview for any job, to get ahead of anyone research the job you going for, tell them abit about yourself and what hobby's you got, why you want to work for them. Also what benefits can you bring to the job. Very very standard, understandable it's the same for social media side of things
You'r video are sooooo useful. Thanks for all the insight. Learning lots and looking forward to practicing more streaming, more for fun, but knowing the marketing pointers are a definite bonus. 🙌
I just started and only have 2 subs but I’m still watching this because I love your content man, your voice, your passion, everything makes your content so relatable and enjoyable.
If I could get any brand to sponsor me I would have to say that it would either be Razor or Corsair. I’m really enjoying your videos! I’m glad I found you. You’ve been a big help to me because I’m barely starting out! I’m very much a noob at the game xD I’ve uploaded my first edited video to UA-cam I’m excited to get going!
I absolutely love your content. I’ve been absorbing your knowledge for the past 4 days straight. These videos have helped me find why I’m going into this. Thank you so much for your videos.
Right on. I believe I have established a huge European car show since 2002. I had to organically talk to potential sponsors from day one. I feel like I used a lot of the tips you mentioned. And I think you solidified ideas I need to work on go to forward. Thank you 💙
Yeah I mean come to think of it, that's how I got into a lot of stuff in music. I remember I was at a show and the guy said he played this festival. All I did was ask him how he got hooked up with it. He gave me somebody's email. And then I was on. He said there was a couple openings left. Pretty wild. You just simply can't replace being there in person talking to someone. I've only been doing this for a year now, and I really want something like E3 again to get me excited and motivated again.
Loved the video and information it provides with a new perspective for me to go on while building an online stream. I object to the last thought because if it took someone to wear a snowsuit to go through the motions at least they have experienced it as bad as it could be. Stream on!
It would be interesting to see an updated video for 2020 since these live events are cancelled for the most part. How would someone get sponsors during a pandemic?
Thanks for your video. It really makes newbies like me feel good to know that there is some real positives about being a new streamer. I was just feeling negative. I have had wanted to stream for so long and thanks to you I have acquired a good setup (Elgato Stream Deck XL, Cam lInk 4k, rodecaster pro + mics, and would love to send you a video for you to review my setup. I am currently working on making XSplit work well.
Thank you for sharing this we all appreciate it one of my goals for the long term moving forward is to collaborate with sneak energy I'm slowly updating the channel on the daily and I know what I'm looking to do but the information you provided us should motivate everyone!
yet again a great video to kick me in the butt :D I have really fluctuating numbers, when I play games I have around 5 viewers, when I do cooking or just chatting around 20. (guess I know where my content should go^^) one of my mods told me to ask for sponsoring, but I feel like I dont have enough to offer the brands as a small streamer. but seeing these interviews I might try though! thats one of my biggest regrets, not to have networked on twitchcon but I was so overwhelmed with everything lol
This is huge for a small streamer like me! I'm a facebook video game streamer and youtube content creator. Even though most of your tips are in regards to Twitch (& sometimes youtube), I feel like 60-75% of what you have to say also applies to me where I'm at. Thank you again for being awesome and giving out the content!
I think the one thing that wasn't covered in this video was, how can a smaller streamer or creator approach these companies. Who do you look out for etc. Apart from that video was excellent!
Excellent point. That was exactly what I was wondering too! It would be awesome if we could have a follow up video to that explaining the how's of this. And also, when he said "it doesn't matter if you are small", how small do we talk about here? 10 viewers? 30? 100? That's important stuff to know I think
really started to watch your videos recently love what your doing man. Really trying to get serious into this. i hope to one day network with you. Just wanna have fun and make this passion into more then just a passion to hopefully help take care of me and my family. keep it up man thank you again
The question I would love the answer to is what is the easiest way for a person with a smaller platform to get in contact with a company. Weather it be reaching out to management or directly to the higher ups in the company or simply through one of their partner/affiliate programs
I would find it interesting to know what I should expect by gaming sponsors. Gear, money, watermark in my stream? And also: How much should I ask for round about.
My biggest regret about E3 now is that I was there for three years as an editor for a gaming website and I never had the chance to meet you and share thoughts. I should have found this channel way sooner than I did.
you should make a video that explains and shows how you organize game play clips, remembering what time on the recording what happened, etc im sure a lot of people like me would appreciate that to.
If you could have any company sponsor you, who would it be?
Alpha Gaming Heinz beans
Alpha Gaming McDonald
Any company that can help achieve my goals 👌🏼👌🏼
Sargento Cheese's
Razer

Thank you Stream Doctor! Going into the streaming/content creating industry can be intimidating especially when you have no background in approaching businesses and explaining your brand. This is so helpful and informative! Love to hear the other side's perspective and what these companies are really looking for. Now is just a matter of how to reach out to them during a pandemic when there are no conventions!
I gain more and more confidence after watching every video! Thanks a lot man, keep it up.
This I need balance between family job and stream / recordings / editing
Stream for 2-4 hours after work and then on the weekends dedicate that time to family. When you start expanding enough and you can start paying for everything you need from twitch, then in my opinion stay at your job for 2 weeks but save most if not all of that job money then quit your job, and start streaming for maybe 4-8 hours a day. But keep those weekends dedicated to your family, or you can stream weekends and dedicate other days to family.
Thanks Harris. This was SUPER helpful! Now it’s up to us to put the knowledge to good use.
Thank you!
WOW !! An amazing video ! You're speaking my mind !
I'm glad to following you since few months and spreading that kind of mindset :D
This video really exemplified how little I understand of why I do what I do on Twitch, I'm gonna have to do some thinking on that, thanks bro.
300 000 subs conggratulations!
I really love all you're content ♥ I learned a lot from you, I hope I can really apply it to my career.
Great content! Thanks for a) ask these questions and b) share with the community!
Another fantastic video, man you deserve far more of a following. Thanks again for more insight and keep it up!
My man love your vids super helpful providing insight to all this stuff!
I assumed while watching your video that it would have millions of views as it's a question I am sure most channels are looking for. Thank you for sharing with us. (yes I know it's a year old but it's still valuable and current) stay safe and kind regards. John 😊
Love your content very inspiring and straightforward
Hope to see u stream more I guess i only watch replays lol
Sounds like a standard interview for any job, to get ahead of anyone research the job you going for, tell them abit about yourself and what hobby's you got, why you want to work for them. Also what benefits can you bring to the job. Very very standard, understandable it's the same for social media side of things
dude, the value in this video is insane - thank you!
Bro. You have answered some of my most burning questions as a streamer. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication.
I've been watching your videos for at least a month now and they are amazing. Great information. I love the videos. Keep em coming.
You'r video are sooooo useful. Thanks for all the insight. Learning lots and looking forward to practicing more streaming, more for fun, but knowing the marketing pointers are a definite bonus. 🙌
i love your videos becasue they are so simple and direct. I also notice you know what you are talking about and that's why im a subscriber.
8:30 was the Tetris theme playing in the background?
Thanks for this video! That's so good.
I think this precise information would also make a really good "About" section.
I just started and only have 2 subs but I’m still watching this because I love your content man, your voice, your passion, everything makes your content so relatable and enjoyable.
Thank you for taking your time out of your event for getting us this information
I really enjoyed this video and found it interesting and actually helped me in general conversation’s great vid keep it up
Just wanted to say thank you for the advice! ❤️
I've seen many of your videos and every time, you just always impress me. You're advice and content is godly. THANK YOU
If I could get any brand to sponsor me I would have to say that it would either be Razor or Corsair. I’m really enjoying your videos! I’m glad I found you. You’ve been a big help to me because I’m barely starting out! I’m very much a noob at the game xD I’ve uploaded my first edited video to UA-cam I’m excited to get going!
how did you get that charizard animation at 9:48 ? (I believe its from pokemon ranger)
Thank you 💙
That's good stuff man.been digging your channel for a few months now n its all good info. So thanks man
Yeah I mean come to think of it, that's how I got into a lot of stuff in music.
Stream on!
I've been watching video after video from you over the past few days and have learned SO MUCH!! You are truly an inspiring guy! Thank you!
Thanks for this video!
Awesome tips really opened my eyes on sponsorships
yet again a great video to kick me in the butt :D I have really fluctuating numbers, when I play games I have around 5 viewers, when I do cooking or just chatting around 20.
Thanks for the video! I really appreciate your work!
So insightful! Great content and advice (as always!!!!). Thank you Alpha Gaming!
You are really great at what you do, keep up the great work!
Thanks for the video mate. Enjoy your content, so much value.
My Stream Doctor is basically my god
My Stream God. There's your new title.
ALL HAIL STREAM SENPAI
@@nathantrieu4957 yes!
Your advice is really good and it also applies into regular type of people just looking for jobs.
I think the one thing that wasn't covered in this video was,
how can a smaller streamer or creator approach these companies.
You are the only low subbed channel on my subscription that I love watching for reasons I don't even know. You deserve million subs.
Its crazy how this boosts my motivation
Same
really started to watch your videos recently love what your doing man.
Some people ( like him) is just nice and want to help others like us.. Small streamers and small UA-cam gaming creators. Keep it up
I would find it interesting to know what I should expect by gaming sponsors. Gear, money, watermark in my stream? And also: How much should I ask for round about.
My biggest regret about E3 now is that I was there for three years as an editor for a gaming website and I never had the chance to meet you and share thoughts. I should have found this channel way sooner than I did.
I literally keep this on 24/7 thank you man forgive me such great dimes see you in tier 3
Really helpful insights and ideas.. but what about the person who can't go to events like that or they live outside of the USA.
you should make a video that explains and shows how you organize game play clips, remembering what time on the recording what happened, etc im sure a lot of people like me would appreciate that to.
And this is why I stand by your channel 🙏🏾
Loooove this video 😍 This is helpful for any event or situation cause we never know who we're talking to ✌️ Thanks for another amazing video.
