I started thinking more about what be beneficial to the viewer than what I want when it comes to upgrades. I invested in some proper lighting since starting to watch your videos instead of using my ceiling light. I’ve put more effort into growing on other platforms and been more critical of streaming groups offering the chance to grow with them and have since left the communities that I realized were not going to actually help me at all.

UPVOTE TO SAVE TIMES & LIVES
    1. Your stream won't grow insanely quick or fast while you're live. Make UA-cam content instead.
    2. Networking doesn't work like you think it will. You can't network your way to stardom.
    3. Quit chasing brands and sponsorships and ads.
    4. Looking for shortcuts in growing your channel can backfire and hurt you.
    5. Don't be afraid to put down the games and Just Chat!

I saw a video where the guy said even if you have 0 viewers it’s still important to talk. Talk to yourself, that way you get good at it. Then the next time someone pops into your stream, they’ll hear you talking and it’ll make them more likely to stick around.
Because the content streamers give isn’t necessarily the gameplay itself, but the interaction with the audience and the interesting commentary they add

ive met quite a few people recently on twitch who streamed for 6 months to a year before having any regular viewers and even longer than that without having affil. ive met a couple that got affil in like 2 or 3 weeks. both of those things really put it into perspective that it can be a chance thing. it may not happen for a lot longer than the year even. but eventually youll have at least one person come in and say hi that you can start to build a bond with and more will follow after that.

      1. Listen to your body. If you feel stressed OVER a longer period of time, take a step back and think again. Is it really worth it to work this hard?
      2. If it’s not ”fun” anymore, and its just a thing that you feel like ”you have to do”. Think again, do you really have yo push yourself right now, or can you rethink it all?

And while I do want to earn some money by streaming, I don't want to make a ton. Just 'some'. If possible, about 100€ or a little above that would be great. A 'goal', if you will. Just so I can have a bit of money coming in while I'm unemployed, maybe help me get new/great games more easily so I can share them on stream again.

I find myself in the same situation, way to shy but i wanted to do streaming from long ago, and never got the courage to go for it until recently, a rlly good way to go out of your comfort zone though, but it's also very hard and maybe i will get discouraged in the meanwhile ~.~

I'm doing music on twitch since September. I found out that having a song request system like the songlistbot really improved retaining my viewers because they wait for their songs to be played during my stream. Raiding other people (under your advice) really started to have an impact on having other people joining my stream for the mere fact that they are intrigued. Laslty, recently changing my name from lechence to LechenceMusic really had an impact on new people discovering me on the platform. Adding music to my name gave me some more discoverability I guess. I grew about 500 followers this month by streaming 3 to 4 times a week with a schedule. That's it. Thanks again for the great advices!

Good tip for you all, especially for someone who starting to stream. Know what your getting yourself into. It cost most to stream but not record(not much) . And even if you have the money to stream , it takes allot time, and commitment. Not trying to discourage anyone to give it up or not stream but warning those who are deciding. People want to see personality. If you want people to watch you play games, make entertain them. Show them excitement ,a show, play games and talk or play good , something interesting, be creative. Remember it’s a part of label you and valuing . If your doing it for money (it takes time and commitment) don’t rush into it , it doesn’t happen over night. Hope this help anyone of you all

ProdiJ start with whatever u have man . You have to be consistent because the people who follow your stream and stuff they want you be like alright this guy stream is cool ,all the sudden your gone and you didn’t come back they look for another streamer to follow because they could be like you looking for followers too and they want to build up their stream. Be consistent. It depends on you and everyone else who streams, is it a job or a hobby?

    • @jnim1000

Honestly, I think this helps out a lot with some mental barriers. I began streaming a couple weeks ago, and it’s just a drag when no one shows. I got down and out because daily I didn’t see growth, but when I think over these 3 weeks I’ve actually grown to where I’m at 30 followers and steadily growing. I really appreciate the time put into the video! It’s immensely helpful.

I love that last point a lot. Upon reflection, I see where I'm modeling the behavior of "just get to the game because that's what people are here for" based on the toxicity of viewers in other channels that I watched get banned.
Whereas now, a lot of the streamers that are growing and doing well are taking that time to Just Chat with their audience and it's building that interactive relationship.
Also - Thank you for saying networking doesn't help as much as you'd think.
Also - RIP Jake Paulers lol

I'm scared that I will sit in Just Chatting awkwardly talking to myself and running out of things to say after 10 minutes. I usually just play a game, so that I have *something* to talk about then monkaS But maybe i should start adding some just chatting segments in the end or so

Same, I'll talk for about a minute or so to myself and then run out of things to say. Then I try to talk about things about the game or what I'm doing and just kinda stop since I know no one is watching. I'd like to post my streams on youtube, but I know there's a limit to what people are willing to watch I just don't know that limit lol.

    • @LauraJu
      @LauraJu 4 роки тому +5

@@cilirhammersteel5515 You really should try and talk the whole time! I hate it when i browse other small streamers and they don't talk or just look at their phone the entire time.
I talk soooo much nonsense like how long this loading screen is etc. and also I repeat myself very much haha since no one was listening to it before, no one will notice that i already talked about it...
Hm i'm not sure about uploading whole streams to youtube. I think it's better to limit yourself to your "highlights" on stream.
It might take a while to fill a 10 minute video, but imo it's much more worth than uploading all the awkward pauses inbetween.
Something that just came to my mind (not sure if its a good idea haha), what if you send your funny segments or insane gameplay to a "Twitch highlights" Channel here on youtube. Your name still gets out there without having to stream for 6 months until you finally have enough material.
Sorry for my long answer, I kinda got carried away
