What the most important thing to you in an alert service like SE or Streamlabs?

Functionality for sure. Doesnt matter how good they look if they dont work. Next I guess would be customization AND making it understandable to use.

I wish I would’ve known that streamelements protected from chargebacks before. I’ve had several chargebacks with stream labs :( had to pay basically over 100 for chargebacks. Choose streamelements guys!

I am watching this a year later and I finally switched to Stream Elements. Three factors made the push:
1- Alerts are incredibly unreliable with Streamlabs. You can refresh the cache in OBS studio, or downright clear all your cache in Streamlabs OBS and they still do not work properly.
2- Stream Elements does not force you to use their own version of OBS (even though they got OBS Live) in order to use their pre-designed themes and allows you to edit them to your heart's content as you do it on Stream(dot)me. You can also just create your own in Stream Elements for free.
3- Stream Elements is just better at consolidating all the tools you need to manage your stream.

I moved over to StreamElements because streamlabs turns most of their options and features into prime only, even the things that used to be FREE to use for everybody. Some of this stuff about streamlabs seems to be incorrect or outdated:
Streamlabs has cloudbot now that allows the use of a cloudbased bot in channel 24/7. For setting up a custom bot you do have to use the bot program tho, like change its name which you can via your twitch bot account login.
Streamlabels and python are included in streamlabs and not possible and not neccessary to seperately download anymore.
I do have issues with the bot aswell tho so thinking about the switch aswell. Alot of the features like gamble and heist etc just dont work well cause they dont answer with errors if anxthing was entered not perfect. Like gamble points exceed how many you have.

So I think would be helpful for the community some tips on how to organize the windows. What to keep always visible, what u dont need to keep track all the time. For me... HOW TO BENEFIT FROM VERTICAL MONITOR ORIENTATION... The best ways to optimize your screen real state with what really matter. Suggestions for 1 monitor, 2 monitors, vertical mount, ultrawide, superultrawide, 3 monitors, TieFighter... I really would like to see your input and how to organize better for a better stream experience. Happy Streaming.

FINALLY, something I can really agree with you on my friend. While we don't see eye to eye on a lot of your perspectives of Twitch, and the culture, I vehemently applaud the dedication and content you provide to new folks attempting to enter our sphere. I know it's not popular these days, but it's okay to disagree and still respect someone in 2019 for what they do, and what they bring to the platform. So I struggle with this because I technically run both at the same time. Here’s why I say that:
Stream Elements alert feature, overlays, and chatbot are absolutely amazing, but there is one thing stream elements severely lacks and that individualized sound commands.
In StreamLabs I set up a string of commands that only subscribers could use, but later took it a step further and made individual commands for each sub. Made it really special for them and it keeps them coming back. That was something I wasn’t ready to give up.
Stream elements has an audio command that you can set up, but it’s not a user friendly way and you cannot individualize them. I hope they can fix this as it would complete my transition over to Stream Elements and I can kick the StreamLabs to the curb.

I just started streaming and it was stupid easy to configure some of their existing themes. Modifying them is pretty easy too. My only complaint so far is when I transition from one scene to another it can take a couple seconds for the overlay to load. I can go into studio mode and click on the scene I will switch to which preloads the page, but it's just an extra step for me to mess up if I need to pop out for a minute.

that's unfortunate, the streamlabs chatbot is my main thing that I love. It's the main thing for my tier 2 and 3 subs, as I have a soundfile play on their first speaking (if they wish). Kind of just a little nod to the people who support more.
I also find the scripting extremely powerful for creating a "living" bot. My bot is as much part of the stream as I am, replying to people when they trigger certain phrases, using various scripted commands.
I'd switch over to streamelements in an instant if they just had the soundfile or even text-reply function for individual user on-speak events. I'm sure it's not an issue in 150+ viewer channels where you don't want spam, but in the 50s it fits right in.

Hey man .. GREAT VIDEO btw ... loved it ... but one question regarding your setup .. in the end clip when you're talking about giving sam a raise command .... whats that boom arm you're using for your microphone ... looks mega sturdy and a decent size ... I need this like .... NOW :D
