I am watching this a year later and I finally switched to Stream Elements. Three factors made the push: 1- Alerts are incredibly unreliable with Streamlabs. You can refresh the cache in OBS studio, or downright clear all your cache in Streamlabs OBS and they still do not work properly. 2- Stream Elements does not force you to use their own version of OBS (even though they got OBS Live) in order to use their pre-designed themes and allows you to edit them to your heart's content as you do it on Stream(dot)me. You can also just create your own in Stream Elements for free. 3- Stream Elements is just better at consolidating all the tools you need to manage your stream.
Same! My StreamLabs wasn't properly giving people points when they won a gamble or bet, but it had no problem taking the points away when they lost aha. Hoppe you're streaming has been goin good my dude!
I wish I would’ve known that streamelements protected from chargebacks before. I’ve had several chargebacks with stream labs :( had to pay basically over 100 for chargebacks. Choose streamelements guys!
@@bearaesthetixfitness Yeah really easy, you can still use a browser source or do what i did and manually download everything and put them into streamlabs so when transitioning its hella quick
I learned more in the last 18 minutes watching this Vid than I have trawling around stream labs and stream elements help pages, So I thank you Harris for your time.
SE.PAY is available in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland , Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States.😉
I have almost everything set up to start streaming (Kit wise) except a cable for my camera to connect it to my pc. aside from that i was still unsure of things like overlays and alerts etc. you have helped me so much with this video. i downloaded this earlier and have been working on it all day. thank you so much. there is still some things i'm unsure of but i'll get there. thanks again. x
Had a driver issue that made me Reboot my system from the ground up, finally made the switch to StreamElements. Glad I did thank you so much for the vid, was very helpful.
I just recently switched to elements. Slobs just wasn't cutting it , no cheer alerts , host and follow alerts. So, spent about 3 days gutting my stuff out of one and put in elements. Love it. Yes. Some learning , but dang, is it nice.
This changed my stream life! Thanks for sharing this. Stream labs didnt have enough and it was unorganized. Streamelements is legit, clean and smoother
I've been going through watching your vids the last week or so. I'm learning to do all this stuff to help my daughter create youtube videos of her gameplay. You can definetly tell your progression of quality in the last year. Your lighting tips are a great help. This particular vid I see how your own lighting skill has improved. Thanks for the help. Quality vids, good advice, and your growth is inspiring.
I was JUST looking at how to setup my custom alerts and recent follows/donations today when you uploaded this. THANK you!! 2 months into streaming and almost have my channel to a point that I think looks good and clean!
I moved over to StreamElements because streamlabs turns most of their options and features into prime only, even the things that used to be FREE to use for everybody. I do get it, every company has to make money but $19 USD/mo is just to much (at least for me). Great video! Keep your thing going.
+ one big plus for streamelements: OBS live now has a full UA-cam integration. So get alerts, notifications and the chat when you stream to yt. That what i allways wanted.
Your videos have really helped me build my channel when it comes to products and software and I will now be using stream elements for my live-streams....videos always seem genuine and not sponsor driven so thank you for your help buddy 👍
Just switched over, will try OBS.Live streamlabs soon. Everything imported over from SLOBS no issues tips overlays the lot except Input n output audio. Anyway.. heres to the new move.
Thanks for the tip, I would like to stream in between and have tried Streamlabs so far and as a newbie I'm really struggling there, I can't even get the chat to work properly and will try streaming elements directly, thanks a lot and greetings from Germany!
Some of this stuff about streamlabs seems to be incorrect or outdated: Streamlabs has cloudbot now that allows the use of a cloudbased bot in channel 24/7. For setting up a custom bot you do have to use the bot program tho, like change its name which you can via your twitch bot account login. Streamlabels and python are included in streamlabs and not possible and not neccessary to seperately download anymore. I do have issues with the bot aswell tho so thinking about the switch aswell. Alot of the features like gamble and heist etc just dont work well cause they dont answer with errors if anxthing was entered not perfect. Like gamble points exceed how many you have.
I used SE in the beginning but was so overwhelmed with the features you point out, that I was so glad having everything together with streamlabs :D I would love to do stuff like this, but I'm too much of a noob on pc^^
Atm i have everything Setup in streamlabs obs but i want to Switch Can i convert my scenes, alertbox Animations, recent donators, newest follower and all that to streamelements? If not i cant switch because i dont want that my stream will look Different then it does now
also they have API access for a lot of their backend systems. I have build a payment system for a danish service called Mobilepay, and I've integrated it so that they look like PayPal donations and i get alerts and all for them. There is a lot more APIs that you can use
I used streamlabs after ankhbot, then the moment streamelements came out I started using it. I have not been disappointed. I love the overlay editor! So cool!
I prefer to use streamlabs because I have the streamlabs deck app installed in my iPad which allows me to change scenes and manage my stream through it. It’s basically nice to use if you have one monitor so you can use your phone to manage the scenes and stuff
Paypal is ridiculous for Ebay too. My dad stopped selling on ebay because people would claim money back for item not being received before it was even the estimated date of arrival, and paypal would instantly give them the money back. Screwed him around a lot
Hi just a question for having a 2nd monitor for streaming. Is it necessary that the 2nd monitor should be the same refresh rate of your main/gaming monitor? I have gaming monitor with 144hz. Coz I'm planning to have a 2nd monitor but a normal monitor. Hope anyone can answer me it will be a big help for me.
I have been using stream labs for over a year now. It was great at first but now I definitly see the limitations and now its glitchy and they updated the UI and its super confusing and messy. There isnt any cool chat commands on there either, its bad. I have been thinking about switching for a while and now this video gave me the final push. GOODBYE STREAMLABS
Just got hustled out of $150 by Stream Labs! Wish I would of seen this video before such an expensive mistake! lol! Oh well, off to Stream Elements I go! Thanks Doc!
Streamlabs chatbot is the best....i don't know how were you using it, but i am using it for half a year and everything works perfectly But when i tried streamelements before streamlabs it felt much harder to use than streamlaba

I just wanted to say thank you for all ur videos, they have helped me so so much! I’m really new to all of this, UA-cam and twitch and ur videos have just been so amazing for me, I still have so so much to learn but I wouldn’t have even started if it wasn’t for u so again, thank you 😊

Absolutely amazing Doc. As always. Really detailed comparison. And if I may... I've seen lots of streams loosing themselves in the screens. So I think would be helpful for the community some tips on how to organize the windows. What to keep always visible, what u dont need to keep track all the time. For me... HOW TO BENEFIT FROM VERTICAL MONITOR ORIENTATION... The best ways to optimize your screen real state with what really matter. Suggestions for 1 monitor, 2 monitors, vertical mount, ultrawide, superultrawide, 3 monitors, TieFighter... I really would like to see your input and how to organize better for a better stream experience. Happy Streaming.
Harris, I've said it before, and i'm sure i will say is may times in the future. I love you content man! Always informative, and very helpful. Appreciate the video man!
I just started streaming and it was stupid easy to configure some of their existing themes. Modifying them is pretty easy too. My only complaint so far is when I transition from one scene to another it can take a couple seconds for the overlay to load. I can go into studio mode and click on the scene I will switch to which preloads the page, but it's just an extra step for me to mess up if I need to pop out for a minute.
I love that im still watching your videos in 2021.. Also when harris is wanting to make himself look tall but his desk in the background is set to stand which makes him look tiny xD xD
So I struggle with this because I technically run both at the same time. Here’s why I say that: Stream Elements alert feature, overlays, and chatbot are absolutely amazing, but there is one thing stream elements severely lacks and that individualized sound commands. In StreamLabs I set up a string of commands that only subscribers could use, but later took it a step further and made individual commands for each sub. Made it really special for them and it keeps them coming back. That was something I wasn’t ready to give up. Stream elements has an audio command that you can set up, but it’s not a user friendly way and you cannot individualize them. I hope they can fix this as it would complete my transition over to Stream Elements and I can kick the StreamLabs to the curb.
Ive been using streamlabs for a long time and I am looking at Stream elements now. But I want to correct a fact error, which is that the streamlabs bot has to be hhosted locally, Streamlabs have cloudbots now!
agreed he compared it to the wrong thing imo everything he said SE does SLOBS do to and the bot is online to dunno why i guess cuz he got paid from SE. super baised, the only rly good thing here is the chargeback thing that SLOBS doesnt have from what i know, but i use SLOBS and it's way easier than having to copy paste this and that for the widgets and themes in slobs u just select them and done. Was a good video but i wont switch cuz i dont live in the countired for the charge back thing anyways ..
FINALLY, something I can really agree with you on my friend. While we don't see eye to eye on a lot of your perspectives of Twitch, and the culture, I vehemently applaud the dedication and content you provide to new folks attempting to enter our sphere. I know it's not popular these days, but it's okay to disagree and still respect someone in 2019 for what they do, and what they bring to the platform. I also STRONGLY agree with your choice to go with Stream Elements. I've worked closely with the team for years, and they've put out some amazing and incredible stuff.
The only thing that sucks about stream elements is they do not have a Mixer log in. Which sucks because I have been streaming on Mixer for 2 years, and just recently started using streamlabs OBS. I would love to give SE a try, everything you have shown/described sounds amazing! :D
I must admit it pissed me off a little that SEpay is only available in the US. I took a look at OBS.live but so far it is still downloading / uploading, i have quite a few overlays so i wanted to import them from streamlab to OBS.live to test it out now, 10 min later its only 5/13 done. It takes a long time for me to get the overlays in OBS.live(It's properly my own fault since i have quite a few overlays) But ill definitely check it out, and see if it fits me more than streamlab obs. I will most likely use elements for donations since i heard that streamlabs have a tendency to try and cheat donators to sign up for their premium (so if you add a gif it will automatically setup a premium subscriptions) (I Have not tested this my self, but i did a lot of search on this)
Streamlabs is a mod on my channel, yet the timers I set up for chat and the commands never work while I am live. Also I sign into streamlabs prior to my stream and sometimes during stream thinking maybe I have to sign in and still nothing. Streamlabs CloutBot sucks.
As of 2020 your overlays in OBS Stream labs it will install everything for you but you have to put in a camera and audio thing like manually its all custom
Hey man .. GREAT VIDEO btw ... loved it ... but one question regarding your setup .. in the end clip when you're talking about giving sam a raise command .... whats that boom arm you're using for your microphone ... looks mega sturdy and a decent size ... I need this like .... NOW :D Thanks again dude, great work and I've went with stream elements based off this :D
I wish I knew this, my PayPal got shut down for getting to many charge backs, and I can't get my money for 180 days, and I can't/make another PayPal account :/
The problem is that everything about my stream is set up with streamlabs and switching would break everything, so I'm really hesitant eventhough I can clearly see its a night and day change.
Usually I dont watch UA-camrs much, but watching you I learned some things. Current logo and cover photo I updated because watching your vids. You need to see my Twitch what I did, you really inspired me. Thanks Pal 😄
Glad I watched this. I went SLOBS because single PC setup & sometimes I stream outside on only one monitor. Which means I was the rare exception that actually enjoyed having that live tab with the little preview window. Now that OBS.love can breakout windows I'm all in for that. And I wasn't even aware of SE.Pay. Looks like I'm jumping ship.
I think I've been conditioned to Streamlabs Chatbot since I've been using it before Streamlabs acquired it and it used to be Ankhbot like 2 years ago, and I've been using it for ~3 years or so. Considering you had that much trouble with it, and found StreamElements to be easier, I feel like I'll jump back into Streamelements and I'll find my quality of life to improve from what you've shown here xD
I love stream elements but I prefer the much bit glass much much more! The physics are superior! I have messed with SE to try & match it.. buuut nope it’s not the same I have not managed to get it close enough to warrant a switch
I tried streamlabs before but it nearly killed my poor pc. I use streamlabs because it feels like it uses less resources but I'd definitely give streamelements an another try after I upgrade my pc
Hey Harris, I use streamlabs bot and it's not local (at least in the last 3 months) it's always there. They've changed a few bits but yeah, still a bugger to use.
An awesome video as ever Harris! 😁 admittedly as a complete StreamElements noob, I've only just started out using the premade super themes. However, with all of that being said, they look absolutely awesome in my humble opinion.
My OBS Live experience was not quite as savory. Alerts with OBS Live would make my frames drop so hard, but without it installed it was fine. I just built a new pc, and I think I’m gonna try it again on the new one so we will see!
I decided to watch this on a whim and just noticed that you must not have used Streamlabs for a LONG time prior to this video. When this video was uploaded many of the Streamlabs issues you're describing had been fixed, like a separate chatbot and stream labels
Welp I'm going to switch over to elements now and try it out. I've been using obs studio already with streamlabs labels and there stuff, but see this for elements seems so much easier. and my pc isn't a super buff pc so this will help with saving me some performance. Thanks for the great video man!
What the most important thing to you in an alert service like SE or Streamlabs?
How good the alerts are
Style and function of them, are they responsive and how much customisation I have.
Do you stream in streamobs? @alpha gaming
Functionality for sure. Doesnt matter how good they look if they dont work. Next I guess would be customization AND making it understandable to use.
That it works and reliably does it's thing at the right times.
Thanks for the mention!

I am watching this a year later and I finally switched to Stream Elements. Three factors made the push:
1- Alerts are incredibly unreliable with Streamlabs. You can refresh the cache in OBS studio, or downright clear all your cache in Streamlabs OBS and they still do not work properly.

3- Stream Elements is just better at consolidating all the tools you need to manage your stream.
I've been hesitant to switching to StreamElements, but honestly this may have been the convincing factor. Thanks man! I'll implement it!

Watched this in the beginning of the day. HOURS later, I'm almost done with the transition. No regrets.
Hey man .. GREAT VIDEO btw ... loved it ... but one question regarding your setup .. in the end clip when you're talking about giving sam a raise command .... whats that boom arm you're using for your microphone ... looks mega sturdy and a decent size ... I need this like .... NOW :D
Thanks again dude, great work and I've went with stream elements based off this :D
i love and have perfected my streamlabs obs but i want to use streamelements alerts. can I use stream elements alerts with streamlabs obs?
Huge fans of your video. Trying to use stream elements, which browser do you recommend?
I really like obs.live. It’s so nice, but it doesn’t seem to enjoy keeping my twitch logged in for the chat...I have to re-login frequently
Hi Harris.. Hope you can also create a version of the alpha rotating metric widget that is for UA-cam Gaming and also for Facebook Gaming.. :)
I want to get streamelements but it doesn’t work with my Streamlabs OBS
Streamelements OBS Live Supports NDI Plugin which is not in Streamlabs. It is useful for 2 PC Streaming.
Hey Harris, I use streamlabs bot and it's not local (at least in the last 3 months) it's always there. They've changed a few bits but yeah, still a bugger to use.
oooooh! I'm glad you mentioned charge backs!! I am new to the Twitch world so I'm looking for all the tutorials right now! haha!
Thanks for all of your videos. I learn a ton from them.
What is your suggestion for a good usb mic for live streaming UA-cam? Just for talking, not gaming type of situation. Thanks for your help!
Is there an iOS/Android remote app, to control stream ? (Like in case of streamlabs)
Lu No Touch Portal
I decided to watch this on a whim and just noticed that you must not have used Streamlabs for a LONG time prior to this video. When this video was uploaded many of the Streamlabs issues you're describing had been fixed, like a separate chatbot and stream labels
Welp I'm going to switch over to elements now and try it out. I've been using obs studio already with streamlabs labels and there stuff, but see this for elements seems so much easier. and my pc isn't a super buff pc so this will help with saving me some performance. Thanks for the great video man!
