    I understand about leaving the jacket open for style reasons, but in winter temperatures, I'm closing that thing! Although, to be fair, you did address function vs. fashion later in the video.

    • @jaskey
      @jaskey 2 роки тому +1

      For me I add warm base layer and build up enough layers so that I'll be warm enough even with the jacket open. This way I'll keep the jacket open 90% of the time, and I have the option of going warmer by closing the jacket if the temperature unexpectedly falls lower.

    • @joer8273
      @joer8273 2 роки тому

      @@jaskey close it and choose warmth when you need it; just know it makes a person look fat(ter). She was so gentle in her description. Ha. Anyway… choose the function you need at the appropriate time. Rare are the moments you’re going to be freezing and meeting the girl of your dreams.

    Perfect! This answers my questions about stylish winter jackets for extreme cold weather. I am currently in The Province of British Columbia, Canada and it’s getting colder here than I’m used to as I don’t normally live here. This stuff looks good and you’ve given me jackets that I have not given consideration to until now. Thank you again Ashley!!

    My recommendation for jackets to be worn all year round:
    Suede trucker
    Unlined denim trucker
    Leather cafe racer with light lining (At least in my city can be worn pretty much the same all year round better than pretty much any piece. In extreme cold you just button it with a flannel underneath and enjoy the ride, in summer you just wear it with a tee and unzipped)

    This channel should be renamed to “Timeless Men’s Fashioner.” Fashion today is just so damn flexible and doesn’t really have rules on what looks good or bad; timeless fashion on the other hand, does have a lot of rules (same color belt with shoes, only one button used in suit jacket) and the preference for clothes that are tailored to fit body shape.

    Through Autumn/ Winter, here in the U.K, I'm finding that I have to base the fitted look around the need to wear extra layers. Since I'm in- between standard sizes, it often means I need to size up to an XL unless there's stretch material, otherwise I feel like a trussed up chicken. But brrrr, it's getting cold, this vids just in time.
    I've been enjoying your content for a long while now but never commented... so just wanted to thank youuu! 👌

    I have trouble finding clothes that fits correctly. Because I'm 6'8 and 280 lbs. And I've shopped at big and tall and they are limited in style and size and are to expensive. So I shop at the mall or at Wal-Mart here and there.
    its iratating because I have various fashion I love to mix and match but I always have to buy a bigger size just to gain the length for sleeves but is to baggy in the middle area. So I later it for winter but I wish I didn't have to. Or some brands run slimmer classic fit and don't have bigger sizes or tall section. Same with shoes im a size 14 double wide. 95% of the time I don't find a shoe or boot that looks good and fits right and is affordable. I wish our social wasn't so restricted.

      I don't think so... she might be more modern and fashion foerward, but I feel like show knows the GG is a great channel for more classic men. Of course you don't have to go out cuffing all your trousers or wearing full suits everyday, but understanding every end of the spectrum is key to developing your own personal style, which in my opinion should not be as skinny and fashion forward as Ashley likes, neither as traditional, and maybe outdated, as the GG.

    Fashion is not style. Most men’s fashions these days are ridiculous. They are aimed at men who have no innate sense of style. If you have style you don’t need a “celebrity stylist”.
