Something i would love is a graphic mod like iCEnhancer but with the sepia almost white and black filter that original gta 4 has, makes the atmosphere really really depressing in a way that i love it With that said im impressed by how good the mod community is for gta 4, they are really talented and passionated about this game, is amazing and beautiful how the game looks with these mods (Srry for bad english, is not my first language)
My video probably didn’t show it off so well, maybe, but that’s what iCE 4 is aiming to do. The whole point of its visuals is to replicate the depressing aura that GTA 4 has due to its dark storyline. I will be releasing more videos soon, so I hope it will show some more of that :) The time lapse doesn’t do enough justice. And yes! The passion many of these people have for GTA 4 is extraordinary :)

Apart from the game's obvious brilliance, GTA IV's Liberty City is still the best and most lifelike interpretation of New York City, so it's great to see what modding community can achieve on a 15+ year old engine.
This was really well-said. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Even having been to NYC, it's crazy to admit how going there makes you look back and say "wow, I saw this in GTA 4", and vice-versa. And I'm with you there, the modding community has come to achieve huge brilliances with their projects and hardwork.

RevIVe mod is jaw dropping. Animated vegetation looks amazing. But most importantly it is supposed to introduce a new texture loading method and better shadows. When is it getting released ?!
Jaw-dropping is the right term for this! I love the animated vegetation and the upscaled textures, makes the game pop even more :) And as of right now, I am unsure, but I believe the developer is working hard on it right now (since he's solo-ing it) so hopefully soon!
Amazing how the NPC scripting, AI and traffic in this game is leagues ahead of Cyberpunk. This game is now 16 years old, and was probably in development for years prior, but somehow surpasses the scripting and AI of Cyberpunk.

It looks beautiful, but has a yellow/orange tint to it as opposed to the blueish colors the original mostly had at night. Does night time always look like in this video?
its not the super bad red sky that some people got in the early days. just the red tinted dark sky. instead of the sky being dark purple or blue its black with a slight red tint. its been in pretty much every enb except for the ones that use sweetfx to oversaturate the colors (not a good solution) 2:20 is an example @@NotAJ
It's not worth it. Unless you are a computer expert, modding this game is so difficult and risky, you will probably corrupt the game and it will not even start. The vanilla experience is almost perfect, not worth the risk, unless you are an expert or you enjoy watching hours of videos of an indian guy showing you how to fix it

I think it’s because I put a pretty warm filter and not so much low-gamma. There’s actually a few tools to adjust the color with iCEnhancer 4. It’s more customizable than the previous editions :)
The very first frame of your intro when clicking into the video is a massive epileptic trigger. I don't have epilepsy but on a large screen I almost just got it.
Any ENB generally doesn't support the Complete Edition. You have to remember that this was made way back then (a very long time ago). Certain mods won't support future editions.

Hello, Stephan. Thanks for commenting! Yeah, the mods are truly beautiful, aren’t they? The system specifications you have should be able to run the mods. The frame rate may not be as good as the way I have it in-game, so you’ll have to adjust some GTA in-game settings I’m sure, but it shouldn’t be a huge difference between what I have here vs. what you have.
The graphics MOD called iCEnhancer 4 is my modification of iCEnhancer 3. This MOD has been released on my channel since January 29, 2022. Primarily, it improves lighting and amplifies reflections. Fixed a rendering glitch caused by amplification of reflected light over time and an issue where event scenes would jump. There are many other things, but the most obvious one is that I personally don't like my taillights reflecting on the road, so I turn them off.
I’m not going to continue this discussion any further because it makes no sense. The developer spends his time and does his job to make the mod with a team of people. Call your graphics mod what you want to call it. But don’t come here taking credibility of other people’s work when you know that many content creators have been exposed to the way how he makes it. i feel like the game would get back the original tone (yet keep the new graphics) if you manually adjusted the saturation from the in-game settings, no? Would love to know if you tried that.
Can't say I have but this adds its own touch of darkness to it. You can actually adjust a few things, such as color temperature, gamma, and saturation with the mod.
when it comes to texture I am having my Nvidia GPU override them with it's second by second upscaled textures so I don't exactly need to put in HD textures (the textures would be 720p since at the time that'd be the starting HD resolution)
I know it seems like a necro comment, but hey, the trailer dropped today so I want to revisit other ones. While the upgrades are awesome I do think removing that specific tint is a bad idea. It gave that game its character. Any chance I could keep it with those mods?
The trailer drop was something else, wasn’t it? It’s possible to do that, yes. As long as you adjust the gamma and control the vignette in the ENB settings, you can retain that specific tint 👌
I am unable to say. I know that the team who’s developing it have been working their hardest to fix a lot of pending issues. They want everything to sail smoothly before a final version gets released (or before users have issues).
This game definitely has an anti-aliasing issue, but my issue is that I didn't enable FXAA in the NVIDIA control panel at the time of this video's making unfortunately. It looks a lot better now than it does in this video.
@ if the aa still isn’t as good I’d recommend going to reshade getting the addon version and use cmaa2 that’s what I use when I play older games and it always works but GTA 4 has so much more soul to it and it looks better then gtav
In a sense, it does. Except from icelaglace: What Project RevIVe does is that it “improved the quality and performance of the game. Rework of all meshes, new texture loading method, up-scaled textures, new vegetation models and textures, new objects around the map to add life to the game, overhauled night lighting, farther draw distances, etc.”. There’s a lot more of course but I’d join the Discord to find more information.

Hey man i know that this might be off topic, but do you know any sort of way to make iCenhancer 3.0 less dark at night? at times its become too dark like the 2:32 and 5:33 part. Which causes reflections in my monitor screen making me unable to properly see the game. I'd greatly appreciate some help man :) i hope im not a disturbance.
Honestly, if I remember correctly, if you click [Shift] and [Enter] at the same time, the ENB menu appears. Look for something regarding “night light intensity”, something along those lines, and adjust how you see fit! Should work :) Higher the value, the brighter it is. The lower the value, the darker it is.
I can see why you'd say that, but remember, it's only $20 for the early access. By release, it's all going to be free of charge. And the early access is mainly used for three things, (a) of course for your benefit and enjoyment, (b) to help test for the developer and see if things aren't working correctly or missing, and (c) to help support their development. Especially since these two projects themselves have small teams (where one of them is just a solo-teamed project), it can take a long time and it's probably difficult to scope out for any issues. So that's why this is kind of worth it if you're in it to help anywhere. Some people don't do all a, b, and c together, but I do.
Yo I tried to install the newest Zolinka-Patch 7.65 on my modded GTA 4 with Ice Enhancer 4.0 and revive on patch 1.0.4.0, but my game didn't start at all. Do I just have to put everything into the root folder of GTA IV, or do some files need to go somewhere special? After removing the files provided by the Zolinka-Patch 7.65 the game started and worked normally. (I obviously didn't install the folder for the extra Menu options for versions 1.0.7.0 / 1.0.8.0)
RevIVe has not done that, but a recent shader fix performed by Parallellines0451 managed to patch that horrendous z-fighting issue! What a legendary feature to have been included in these shader fixes! Link is below: github.com/Parallellines0451/GTAIV.ShaderFixesCollection/releases Should be noted - these shader fixes do not work with ENBs (not right now, at least).
Depends on which ENB you use and how you adjust the settings to your liking! This one definitely sets the standard, in my opinion. There’s another one out there that I’ve been wanting to try called “Liberty Visual”. It’s absolutely remarkable. I might suggest iCEnhancer 3.0 (or Natural), CryENB V3, Excellent ENB, etc.
Hey bro, can you use the DVXK thing with this? was told it wont work with ENBs. Also the project 2dFx it makes my game look weird, idk the lights in the distance are all like different colours and idk if its meant to be like that.
Hello there! 👋 To my understanding, DXVK has a little complication with certain ENBs. However, to some extent, it does work with iCEnhancer 4.0. Don’t be surprised if you do come across those ‘potential issues’ after getting your build and using it with DXVK. But if you don’t, then you’re in good hands! And which edition of Project 2DFX are you using?
Both mods were on their alpha stages at least 2 years ago now, and I doubt they will ever be published. What a shame it is to have mods behind a paywall.
I want to make sure you understand that these mods aren't behind a paywall. Yes, you can donate (via. a membership) to obtain early access to both mods. But these aren't mods that are finished, there's a lot of work that needs to be poured into them. If you were in their Discords, then you'd realize that as they're pretty communicative with their fanbase and subscribers. Both mods are moving along much further this year, I'd say.
I don't understand why my game doesn't look like yours. I mean, I have a problem with the leaves on the trees that are too bright in color plus, you can't see the traffic lights from far away, but only when you're practically right next to them...I don't understand why. Can someone help me?

Hey, Einfach! 😁 So there’s one LCPDFR version that works (somewhat) on Patch 1.0.4.0. and that’s LCPDFR 0.91. That’s a decade old, but it’s remarkably an awesome mod either way still. The newer versions of LCPDFR works on patches 1.0.7.0. only to my understanding.
That’s very good you mention that. This graphics mod, iCEnhancer 4, is actually supposed to restore that ‘tone’ of GTA IV. However, a temperature, gamma, and motion blur slider was included. Of course, being me, I’m no fan of the motion blur 😂 But I did modify the gamma and the temperature, making it in such a way that it looks colorful. The default settings definitely bring that dark atmosphere you speak of. If you look up some other videos, or some videos I’ll have up soon if the newest build, then you’ll see how the dark atmosphere was restored in this version of iCEnhancer.

No release date was really announced, but there is a lot of exceptional work that has been done over the past 3 years - it is bound to be released soon.
Great video but it sucks ass that most of them only work for 1.0.4.0 which has no dlcs. 1.0.7.0 and 1.0.8.0 has dlc with mod support but all the enb look worse. And the compelete edition is a modding wasteland. The modding community is stuck in the past its not even funny anymore
Thank you for the kind words about the video, first of all :) In the defense of these two mods specifically is that graphical enhancements, specifically ENBs, have always been well-optimized and greatly fabricated for the 1040 patch. You're right that ENBs do not look as good on 1070/1080 as they do with 1040. But that's GTA IV for you, there's a generational transition between the shaders and how they've been changed between the multiple patches - that being 1040 vs. 1070 vs. 1080.
You'll have to purchase early access by donating to the creators. However, these will come out eventually. iCEnhancer 4 is closest to launching at some point. But if you wanted early access, check out the information in the description of this video.
Am i the only one on the internet who's game runs BETTER with an ENB installed? I'm just curious because, typically, you hear the opposite. Not only that, my game now loads in like 30 seconds as apposed to the vanilla games 5 minutes.

Looks like the red night sky is still a thing in ice4. Which is surprising. Been seeing that since I first started playing with ENB mods in like 2011.
I’m not sure where you might be seeing that. Can you time stamp it? The ENB series for Patch 4, unlike Patch 7, shouldn’t typically have this issue.

You should also enable AA via your graphics card settings or use a heavier one with reshade.
Enable AA from the NVIDIA Graphics Panel, right? Thank you so much - I’ll give this a shot! Always wanted to fix up the anti-aliasing problem.

I’m not going to continue this discussion any further because it makes no sense. The developer spends his time and does his job to make the mod with a team of people. Call your graphics mod what you want to call it. But don’t come here taking credibility of other people’s work when you know that many content creators have been exposed to the way how he makes it. And I’m not the only one. So as far as I’m concerned, this isn’t continuing. Have a nice day.
i feel like the game would get back the original tone (yet keep the new graphics) if you manually adjusted the saturation from the in-game settings, no? Would love to know if you tried that.
Can't say I have but this adds its own touch of darkness to it. You can actually adjust a few things, such as color temperature, gamma, and saturation with the mod.
What tree mod are you using? I downloaded iCEnhancer but my trees are still ordinary and not like the ones in your video.

when it comes to texture I am having my Nvidia GPU override them with it's second by second upscaled textures so I don't exactly need to put in HD textures (the textures would be 720p since at the time that'd be the starting HD resolution)
I know it seems like a necro comment, but hey, the trailer dropped today so I want to revisit other ones. While the upgrades are awesome I do think removing that specific tint is a bad idea. It gave that game its character. Any chance I could keep it with those mods?
The trailer drop was something else, wasn’t it? It’s possible to do that, yes. As long as you adjust the gamma and control the vignette in the ENB settings, you can retain that specific tint 👌

I am unable to say. I know that the team who’s developing it have been working their hardest to fix a lot of pending issues. They want everything to sail smoothly before a final version gets released (or before users have issues).
You should use reshade to greet some better aa that’s the only thing that is holding the graphics back the sharp edges hurt my eyes
This game definitely has an anti-aliasing issue, but my issue is that I didn't enable FXAA in the NVIDIA control panel at the time of this video's making unfortunately. It looks a lot better now than it does in this video.
@ if the aa still isn’t as good I’d recommend going to reshade getting the addon version and use cmaa2 that’s what I use when I play older games and it always works but GTA 4 has so much more soul to it and it looks better then gtav

In a sense, it does.
Except from icelaglace: What Project RevIVe does is that it “improved the quality and performance of the game. Rework of all meshes, new texture loading method, up-scaled textures, new vegetation models and textures, new objects around the map to add life to the game, overhauled night lighting, farther draw distances, etc.”. There’s a lot more of course but I’d join the Discord to find more information.
By joining the Discord, you can find what other optimizations it has based on the attempts Rockstar tried or failed on.

almost makes me want to replay gta 4 with this when it comes out but then i realised that the pc port is still a bitch and a half to deal with even without installing mods and honestly its not worth wasting time on it
There are mods to make this port playable, but it’s understandable that from hindsight it looks terrible lol

Hey man i know that this might be off topic, but do you know any sort of way to make iCenhancer 3.0 less dark at night? at times its become too dark like the 2:32 and 5:33 part. Which causes reflections in my monitor screen making me unable to properly see the game.

Honestly, if I remember correctly, if you click [Shift] and [Enter] at the same time, the ENB menu appears. Look for something regarding “night light intensity”, something along those lines, and adjust how you see fit! Should work :) Higher the value, the brighter it is. The lower the value, the darker it is.

I can see why you'd say that, but remember, it's only $20 for the early access. By release, it's all going to be free of charge. And the early access is mainly used for three things, (a) of course for your benefit and enjoyment, (b) to help test for the developer and see if things aren't working correctly or missing, and (c) to help support their development. Especially since these two projects themselves have small teams (where one of them is just a solo-teamed project), it can take a long time and it's probably difficult to scope out for any issues. So that's why this is kind of worth it if you're in it to help anywhere. Some people don't do all a, b, and c together, but I do.

Yo I tried to install the newest Zolinka-Patch 7.65 on my modded GTA 4 with Ice Enhancer 4.0 and revive on patch 1.0.4.0, but my game didn't start at all. Do I just have to put everything into the root folder of GTA IV, or do some files need to go somewhere special? After removing the files provided by the Zolinka-Patch 7.65 the game started and worked normally. (I obviously didn't install the folder for the extra Menu options for versions 1.0.7.0 / 1.0.8.0)
is RevIVe tackling the horrendous z fighting that plagues the game?
RevIVe has not done that, but a recent shader fix performed by Parallellines0451 managed to patch that horrendous z-fighting issue! What a legendary feature to have been included in these shader fixes! Link is below:

Should be noted - these shader fixes do not work with ENBs (not right now, at least).
The most problem about with enb's when I change the weather with a trainer the weather doesn't look well for some reason
Depends on which ENB you use and how you adjust the settings to your liking! This one definitely sets the standard, in my opinion. There’s another one out there that I’ve been wanting to try called “Liberty Visual”. It’s absolutely remarkable. I might suggest iCEnhancer 3.0 (or Natural), CryENB V3, Excellent ENB, etc.
Hey bro, can you use the DVXK thing with this? was told it wont work with ENBs. Also the project 2dFx it makes my game look weird, idk the lights in the distance are all like different colours and idk if its meant to be like that.
Hello there! 👋 To my understanding, DXVK has a little complication with certain ENBs. However, to some extent, it does work with iCEnhancer 4.0. Don’t be surprised if you do come across those ‘potential issues’ after getting your build and using it with DXVK. But if you don’t, then you’re in good hands! And which edition of Project 2DFX are you using?

This is GTA IV. It has graphics. The graphics mod is used to enhance it. So now GTA IV is enhanced. That's I guess what it's doing? lol
Both mods were on their alpha stages at least 2 years ago now, and I doubt they will ever be published. What a shame it is to have mods behind a paywall.
I want to make sure you understand that these mods aren't behind a paywall. Yes, you can donate (via. a membership) to obtain early access to both mods. But these aren't mods that are finished, there's a lot of work that needs to be poured into them. If you were in their Discords, then you'd realize that as they're pretty communicative with their fanbase and subscribers. Both mods are moving along much further this year, I'd say.
I don't understand why my game doesn't look like yours. I mean, I have a problem with the leaves on the trees that are too bright in color plus, you can't see the traffic lights from far away, but only when you're practically right next to them...I don't understand why. Can someone help me?

Is it possible to play LCPDFR on the 1040 patch? Cause the graphics mod is only available on patch 1040 and not 1080.
Hey, Einfach! 😁 So there’s one LCPDFR version that works (somewhat) on Patch 1.0.4.0. and that’s LCPDFR 0.91. That’s a decade old, but it’s remarkably an awesome mod either way still. The newer versions of LCPDFR works on patches 1.0.7.0. only to my understanding.

Hmm, I'm not sure of a mod that can fully do all three of these things. You could try doing a timecycle or maybe use a ReShade of some kind.
The strong colours do take away from the atmosphere the game is meant to have.
That’s very good you mention that. This graphics mod, iCEnhancer 4, is actually supposed to restore that ‘tone’ of GTA IV. However, a temperature, gamma, and motion blur slider was included. Of course, being me, I’m no fan of the motion blur 😂 But I did modify the gamma and the temperature, making it in such a way that it looks colorful. The default settings definitely bring that dark atmosphere you speak of. If you look up some other videos, or some videos I’ll have up soon if the newest build, then you’ll see how the dark atmosphere was restored in this version of iCEnhancer.
Will this work on a pc setup having a Ryzen 7 5800H and an RTX 3060 6GB Graphics? My pc also has 16GB RAM/1TB SSD?
It should most certainly run, although I’m unsure of anything about AMD CPUs.

It’s not that the shadows are bad necessarily. They’re just softer on 1040 in comparison to 1070/80/CE :)

Great video but it sucks ass that most of them only work for 1.0.4.0 which has no dlcs. 1.0.7.0 and 1.0.8.0 has dlc with mod support but all the enb look worse. And the compelete edition is a modding wasteland. The modding community is stuck in the past its not even funny anymore
Thank you for the kind words about the video, first of all :) In the defense of these two mods specifically is that graphical enhancements, specifically ENBs, have always been well-optimized and greatly fabricated for the 1040 patch. You're right that ENBs do not look as good on 1070/1080 as they do with 1040. But that's GTA IV for you, there's a generational transition between the shaders and how they've been changed between the multiple patches - that being 1040 vs. 1070 vs. 1080.

Am i the only one on the internet who's game runs BETTER with an ENB installed? I'm just curious because, typically, you hear the opposite. Not only that, my game now loads in like 30 seconds as apposed to the vanilla games 5 minutes.
