What are you going to make with this letter masks? T-shirts, stickers, something else? Let us know!
I figure this will be a good place to start to learn sticker-making. I just need to find a video tutorial for exactly how to do stickers! Thanks for the video!
WOW Drew, this is Awesome. I'll give this a try on some t- shirt designs.
Sounds great!
I definitely will be trying this technique for my t shirts
Glad to hear it!
Thanks a lot. This is Awesome! Finally after few hours of practicing I was able to do it and I feel happy to see. I am gonna do it on T-Shirt , Tote...Please provide us more awesome and unique Ideas. 🙏
Go for it!!
Love these
Cheers!
So cool! Thanks for the tutorial 👏🏼
You are most welcome!
Awesome tutorial, thanks so much! I used this on a book title for kdp, turned out fantastic. You guys make is to easy for me as a beginner.
That's great to hear!
Thank You for Ideas!
You are most welcome!
Thanks for the detailed tutorial!
Absolutely!
Love it!
Cheers!
Very cool! Thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love Kittl as always! So convenient, ten times faster than manually creating this in Illustrator! Just wondering will Kittle have app in the future so we can work anywhere?
Make sure you stay tuned for an update! There is no app yet, but in the future!
“Boom….booom, boom…. Booom!” 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for watching!
Nice Letters!
Glad you like them!
LOVE your Channel!! I didn't See where you Used YOUR OWN Photos.....
Hey there! You can certainly upload your own photos if you wish, via the left side panel, or by dragging them onto the editor screen. We just used photos that were in our Photos tab readily available.
Wish i had the ability to mask any font
You can find and upvote that feature request here. feedback.kittl.com/feature-requests
That was very cool, how you stacked them. The ideas are flying around my brain. 😂 I am hoping you make more types of fonts, would love to see some script fonts. Or…I know how to make my own custom masks (or frames) in Canva, so I might have to crack the code on how to make custom Kittl masks. 😂
We will be adding some advanced masking features in the coming months, so stay tuned!
Can you do a video of how to use ai vector streetart option? And how to make that type of vector look if you don't have the ai option?
Hey there! We actually have a vector AI art streetwear/grunge preset ready to go in Kittl AI, but we can also put together a tutorial using this.
It would be GREAT if you had a Text object, and transform it into a mask. Not just individual letters.
We are working on features like this, so stay tuned.
@@Kittldesignany updates?
Thanks so much Drew this was great! This was the one thing that I wanted to learn more of. Any chance Kittl will come out with more masking fonts, or even the ability to slice? Thank you:)
Glad this was helpful for you! Yes we will be adding more elements, but also working on a proper masking effect to make this style even faster to achieve!
Fun! ;-)
Thanks for watching!
Hi! This is so fun, thanks for sharing. How do I bond the letters together as a group/word?
Hey there! You can right click and group the letters together, or, you can select them all and hit CMD or CTRL G!
can i use any gallery pictures that i downloaded for mask design Thank you so much
Sure! If you need to look into how our licensing works, you can check it out here: www.kittl.com/licensing
Can you import your own images to place inside the letters? Sorry if this question was covered already.
Yes, you can upload your own photos and files, and drag them into the masks.
Great tutorial, thank you. Is there a way to group the letter masks, and drag one image in that automatically applies to all letters? For example, in your Paris cityscape image that you dropped in... is there a way to simply drop that in once and it automatically sizes across all letters, rather than having to drop the image into each letter and move it around? Thank you!
Hey there, great question! There is not a way to apply one image to multiple masks right now. However, more advanced masking features (like clipping masks) will come in the future!
@@Kittldesign I wanted to ask exactly the same as I have similar designs in mind, with one photo/image showing through the letters (similarly like when I create a wall art design that is split in 3 or 5 panels, if it makes sense). If it were possible to add a feature for this effect that would be great!
So we're only able to add in patterns with those two masks? Is there a way to make this work for any font? I know how to do this in other programs, but am struggling to get a design "cut" into my lovely kittl font of choice.
Hey there! More advanced features, like clipping masks will be coming in the near future.
I saw another video where they mentioned an “erasing color” type feature that seems it would let you create any shaped mask you want as long as it started as a color you could easily select for erasing 🤔. Would love to see a video on doing masking like that if I’m correct.
Hey there! The eraser tools is not ready yet, but it will of course only apply to certain things. :)
@@Kittldesign it was already demonstrated in another video where someone selected the color of the sky and then somehow faded it out of existence. They were then able to put other images behind that main image and those background images would only show through in the area that used to be sky. I thought this was a good way to do any shape mask that you want. I don’t think it was the main topic of that video though, and it wasn’t used as a mask in the way we usually think about it with a pre-defined shape
Anyone know how to only apply the mask to half the letter? Trying to create the half leopard print, half flat color look.
You can double click into the masks, and then drag the image up or down to only be seen on half the letter.
Is there a way to make the image look as if it’s coming out of the letter masking (3D like)
Hey there! There is a way to do this that is a big more involved, and we will try to put a tutorial out for that in the future.
Hi, I am enjoying learning with you. I tried this tutorial, however when I dragged the letters over, unlike in your example, they were not the same size and I had to tediously try to get them all the same size using the grid. Can I ask what might have caused that, what I might have done wrong? Also, is there a 'snap to grid' type function in kittl please? Thank you for a great product.
Also, can you outline the letters?
Hey there! You can click and drag a letter, but the easiest method is just clicking on a letter from the left side panel, and it will pop up right in the center of the artboard. As we explained in the tutorial, it's best to go ahead and click every letter that you know you will need in the word, before moving them around and scaling them up or down.
At the moment, you can't outline letter masks.
It would be great if we can outline the letter masks. It's hard to read the letters. I don't use the letter masks because there is no outline to make the letters stand out. Do you know if this feature will be added to Kittl in the future?
Thanks for the feedback! We will look into this.
@@Kittldesign Thank you!
Can you change the font after masking?
Hey there, since the letters are individual masks, they cannot be changed unless you go and choose a different letter.
Hi dear, I have taken kittl full year subscription and your videos are quite helpful for beginners to be expert, I have a question on dpi, when I try to set dpi on 300 with 4500*5400 px I am unable to do so coz px goes above 9000 which then system doesnt accept being so large to upload, with dpi 150 its ok but not on 300, how can I solve this issue?
Hey there! Our sizing stops currently at 10,800 pixels (which is extremely large). We are looking at making it even bigger in the future.
@@Kittldesign sorry but I didn't understand, how I can make 300 dpi ?
@@ccpippin307Hi dear, thanks to advice but in print on demand site PNG file is required bcz it's with transparent background and not SVG, I had tried to change dpi first but it didn't work, I choose kittl over canva mainly bcz of 300 dpi issue only.
The dear thing is cultural, likely from the east somewhere@@ccpippin307
Is it possible to to make any object a mask, or a group of letters???
Hey there, at this time, clipping masks like that are not yet available, but will be in the future!
I cant seem to click on the masked image. How did you do it??
Hey there, to ungroup a mask, you can either right click and release, or you can double click into the mask, and simply delete the image or graphic that is in the mask. To add a mask, you go to the elements panel, scroll down until you see masks, and drag one over to your artboard. To add the image to a mask, simply drag the image into the mask and it will apply automatically.
lastima no esta en español para entender mejor uso kittl de pago pero no comprendo bien por el idioma
We have just launched a Spanish channel! Stay tuned! (ua-cam.com/channels/9ORgw48XARvUoZj3WB79dw.html)
I've tried following your video but can't seem to get the image to lock in. I do not have them locked or grouped. I do have the letters lined evenly. Please advise, thank you.
I was able to drop down the image into a circle from the mask selection. However, I was unable to drop the image into the letters same as you used in the video. I also noticed in layers the letters were not marked "mask" like the circle was marked.
Hey there, please reach out to our live chat support, and we can help you the best we can. To insert images into letter masks, you must add the letter masks from the mask category (which is a separate category from the regular masks), that is found at the bottom of the elements section. Once you add the letter masks, you can then drag over any image and drop them into the letter masks. Again, if you need extra assistance, please use the Help tab in the lower left bar of the editor, and click on Chat support.
I am unsure of what I am doing wrong, but my mask isn't snapping in like in the video.
Hey there! Try having the mask in the back of your design, so that you can easily drag the image or illustration into the Letter or Shape.
