      I‘d absolutely LOVE to sell puzzles, and it’s definitely not weird 😂 BUT, there’s a big BUT, the quality of the printify puzzles seems to be rather poor, I checked that out and saw devastating customer reviews, so… any idea for a better pod service for puzzles? I can’t seem to find any cool one, especially not for the EU market. In fact, printify doesn’t even offer puzzles for the EU market, only US ☹️ I‘m soooo,eager to start this, I have a ton of design ideas, but there you go, we need a better pod provider for that

    The puzzles seemed like a non profitable product as you yourself noted they were doing custom photo one for like $16.00 so like no or very low profit on that example.

    • @Kittldesign
      @Kittldesign  7 місяців тому

      They can be very profitable depending on how many you are able to sell, and sizing. Accepting custom photo options for puzzles would allow you to charge even more for a custom puzzle. In mainstream stores, puzzles are generally much higher than $16, so that is certainly too low of a price.

    The reason for the big markdown is simply sales tactic. Let's say you're selling the $8 case by pricing it at $15 you'll be making decent money. But lets say sales are so so, making it $40 but marking it down to $15 causes people to believe they're getting a good deal. Generally this tactic brings more sales.

    • @FavoriteMusicSongs
      @FavoriteMusicSongs 8 місяців тому

    It is not showing the competition as red because of the number of competitors. It is showing in red because of the ratio of competition to search volume. These products are in fact saturated. One problem with capitalism is that speculative markets becomes saturated with products that are not all able to be sold. This leads to the problem of overproduction and the tendency of profits to fall. The only workaround we have for this as people trying to survive under capitalism is to build our own followings outside of these platforms. We then send our loyal followers to the platform or to our own website where they purchase our products. Better to have your own website rather than sending them to a platform full of competing products

    • @lmlowe9100
      @lmlowe9100 9 місяців тому +7

      So true...and everytime a UA-camr comes out with one of these videos, more jump on the bandwagon while they tell us the market isn't saturated.

    • @Kittldesign
      @Kittldesign  9 місяців тому +15

      In terms of competitors, this is why we mentioned the large ratio difference in something like shirts or hoodies versus these more distinct and unique print on demand products. The conversation of saturation and how to set your self apart is different to the conversation of which products allow higher profits in regards to print on demand, which is all we meant to provide in this video. :) It is up to the user to determine whether or not they fit within their shop branding and offerings. Building a following is certainly a great idea and opportunity, as having your own online shop allows you to not compete with thousands of other sellers. Thanks for the comment!

    • @cxa011500
      @cxa011500 9 місяців тому +6

      Keep in my mind, these are print-on-demand products. The products aren't saturated. These are just options for consumers.

    • @automaton111
      @automaton111 9 місяців тому +4

      @@cxa011500 Thank god they’re are not all printed sitting in a warehouse. Although the same thinking applies. People lower prices hoping to get sales. They do put in labor or money creating designs, mockups, listings, ads, social media, etc. But yes they are saturated. Options is all it takes to be saturated. Too many options, prices driven down, etc. The production process is irrelevant to that.

    • @curiositykillsthecat
      @curiositykillsthecat 9 місяців тому +13

      Sorry, but it seems to me somebody have missed the memo about how to sell online anything...HIGH DEMAND/ LOW COMPETITION. The kittl guy just took broad niches as examples that is why the niches are not so attractive. He is not supposed to do the work for you and gives you all the lucrative niches. You can pretend that everything is over saturated and move on or give it a try. It's up to you. But just don't justify your choice with pseudo economical/ market theory. PS. If I want to dig deeper, I would say we are not even in a capitalistic economy because when there is money to be made all the big private actors are making tons of money, but when things are getting bad for them, they cry and seek help from the regulator ( the State) which then mutualize all the losses between all the population and we end up paying for the losses of those private economic actors. That is not capitalism!!

    ...question: If my POD store/product starts getting popular, how can I cover the cost of the POD production (which is to be paid up front) if I don't have a large savings or CC? ...I wouldn't want to have the momentum of sales being halted and bad reviews left for not being able to provide what I advertised... storefronts like Etsy hold customer payments until production is started, and production is held until the POD company is paid... see my conundrum? 🤔 ...

    • @Kittldesign
      @Kittldesign  7 місяців тому +1

      This is certainly a frustrating part of POD, at least in the beginning, and specifically related to Etsy. While we don't have a sure-fire solution to this, since it is as you've said, we know that a lot of creators use a Credit Card to put on their drop-shipping platform, so that once the order is started, it pulls from the credit card, and once the funds are released (and the full deposit is made from Etsy, or Amazon, ETC), the creators will then go and pay off that amount on the credit card. This is of course, not financial or legal advice in any way, it's just what we've seen other POD sellers do. However, it's important to consider the similarities to how it would be when holding on to a bunch of stock. You would still have to pay in advance to order all of your products to keep at your house or office, which you will then have to wait for orders to come in. In that regard, that's where the allure of print on demand is perhaps more attractive. Hope this helps.
