Will there be masking for individual drawn shapes anytime soon like it's possinle in any vector design spftware?

You can upload your own patterns to Kittl and then drop them in a mask shape
Hi Juna, two quick newbie questions, please. I created a project and saved it, thinking I could drag it into a mask after that. It didn't work, the designed project simply covered the mask and I couldn't change it to be able to accomplish what I wanted. Am I correct that you can't drag a finished and saved design into a mask on a new blank artboard and have it work?
Secondly, say I want to abandon a design halfway through it to return to the home page of Kittl and try a new template. I can't find an "exit" or "close" button that would close that design out and let me begin again. What is the best way to abandon a design you don't want? Thanks for any help you can give.
I haven't done it but I would guess you would have to save the project as a png or jpg and then upload back into Kittl and then put it in a mask.... that's because it can currently only mask one graphic at a time not a whole group of graphics.
So one thing I like to do if I am going to close my project and begin another one is to click on the Kittl logo in the top left. It will ask you to save and then it will take you to the Kittl homepage and then you can click on New Project or My Project... It's one extra step but it works pretty good.
Can I use a mask to add a jagged edge to a finished/saved project that is in my Uploads section? I designed a Halloween scene but learned after finishing it, that the background was part of the template and couldn't be deleted. I was hoping to drag the finished design into a mask to get rid of most of the background, but couldn't make it work. Can you only use an image that is already in Kittl's elements area, not an image that you bring in from the outside? Thanks, Juna
Yes... you should be able to mask any image...not a graphic but an image.
how about a vid on how to do 3 colored letters like the word irish in flag colors....
Not sure if you can with Kittl... It's easier in Affinity or Photopea
I am trying to figure out how to use the masks in canva. I have canva Pro and love canva so much. I create everything from little videos to social media posts and printable for myself. Also make the t-shirt designs there but can't figure out the masks
The masks in Canva work pretty much the same way

I started trying design about a week ago , no prior experience in graphic design . I tryed Kittl once , but i feel i learn more when i struggle in Photoshop , so far i feel like everything its to basic . Any tips to improve ?
I think I would start with a bunch of templates you love....learn how they are put together in Kittl.... and see if you can replicate them

I grouped a few elements and tried dragging the group into a mask. Doesn’t work. Just sits on top of the mask shape like the mask doesn’t even exist.
Groups don't work.... you can only mask one think at a time
I don't have the ability to remove my mask color and make it transparent. How can I have that function?
It should be automatic... Do you have a subscription? Are you sure you are putting it in the mask?

So a mask is just a fancy group.... if you right click you can ungroup it or if you click command + G that would ungroup it too.
@@DetourShirts Thank you for your reply. It didn't work for me. It cropped to the mask and made my image smaller instead of deleting the mask : /
If I go with free plan in kittl. Am I allowed to use every image for free or should I give attribution.If yes, then how should I give attribution? And is it important?
That's what they say.... I think it means you have to say you got the design from Kittl and possibly the person who made it if you didn't make it yourself.

Detour can you do a tutorial on making words multi colours ,say 3 colour on America lets say so it's red white and blue on the word America. On kittl please. I tried watching the guy from kittl and can't follow for some reason. You explain things correctly as I'm new to the design game and he just does it expecting everyone to be on the same level. I tried doing what he was doing but jus got frustrated. Thanks .
Like the word America in red, white and blue? Like AM in Red, ERI in White and CA in Blue?
America red at the bottom white in the middle blue on top so all three colours in the one word. Like rainbow style.
I'm not sure you can do it in Kittl but I'll see what I can do

@@zvory8507 I've only started doing this sort of design for pod like a week 8 days. But I'm loving it and detour explained other things easily to understand. I'm a dinosaur in age 40 and just started using the computer full-time 2 days before Christmas. I know your pysl right now but it's never to late or so I'm telling myself. 🤣😂🤪
