    I do feel like you are diminishing the worth of F-Zero 99 as a new project for NST. While graphically it is not ambitious, for such a small studio, it is a big step forward to be managing it. And the fact they've kept it running for two years when it was initially going to stop getting updates shows how much they care for it.

    Nintendo tried to drop the HAMMER 🔨 , but it didn't go well...

    Hunters wasn't well remembered. NST helped with Bowser's Fury , which is a big achievement.

      anybody that had a ds back in the day remembers prime hunters fondly, whether its a big achievement or not

    It’s not an “asian” problem… it’s nintendo being myopic as usual… character action and “warriors” like games *ARE* japanese… in fact , at the time, many japanese publishers were afraid japanese action games were too complex for western markets.

    Honestly I can see why the devs were mad when Nintendo of Japan decided to scrap everything they've worked on and turn it into part of the "Wii (blank)" series. Imagine if near the end of Splatoon's development, Nintendo decided they wanted it to be part of the "Wii (blank)" series and scrapped all of the characters, lore, and artstyle, and instead forced them to fit the Wii Sports and Wii Play aesthetic, with Miis instead of Inklings.

    Incredible story, I had heard of that project but I completely forgot about it or I think I confused it with a Wii U game, but oh well.
    Nintendo probably could have refined it, but it's also possible that they knew very well that a game like this was boring from the start and their very Japanese ideas wouldn't fit in that game at all. They didn't have enough Western knowledge to refine it, and worse, it had an excessive cost that I don't know why it had. This explains why NTS became a very underutilized studio.

    Watch Nintendo bring this back for the Switch 2.

      Color Splash port is more likely for impossible things to happen. Nintendo has become a shadow of its former self without Iwata and Reggie.

      @@STARSVeteran Even with them, there were still shady practices. In fact, Nintendo used to do UA-cam video takedowns a lot more often than now.

    I wouldn't say Nintendo ruined Project Hammer. I'll say they ruined themselves, that game didn't looked good at all and once Nintendo came to suggest ways to actually make the game good they literally imploded from the inside and out.

    Nintendo of Japan really messed up there. The game probably would've sold decently well with some good sidequests.

      A mature looking game on the Wii? Game would have gotten lots of coverage, sure but it would probably have sold like sh*t if we go by other "ZOMG!! MATURE GAMES ON TEH WII!?!?!?!😱😱😱" Like Mad world or No More Heroes

    • @queenshore
      @queenshore 17 днів тому +1

      @diegomedina9637 That's what the good sidequests are for. To make the game more fun and interesting. I specified them for that reason. The press can say what they will, but the gamers who 100% the game might have a different opinion. Especially if some sidequests were a little silly or broke up gameplay in a way that provides a unique experience that's still fitting. Sure, there would be people looking at it in the way you mentioned, but that doesn't mean it couldn't get a loyal fanbase that sees it for what it is in its entirety. It's not black and white. (It's not even in the Pokémon universe, let alone Unova! Sorry, I had to.) You're not wrong, but you seem to have disregarded the fact that I specifically mentioned good sidequests. (I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful, but I just don't like it when people ignore important information in what I said. I'm highly specific at times.)

    I agree with Nintendo of Japan, I never saw the appeal to American games, they're very dull, they lack colors, imagination and surrealism, they often even lack music, all they got going on for them is the violence, lots of aggressive violence, and Project HAMMER looks like another generic American game, no thank you.

      Bro we literally invented video games. The hell are you talking about?

    • @Gewehr_3
      @Gewehr_3 20 днів тому +2

      @@juicealaSure, but their video game industry would not exist if we didn't establish ours first.
      Also to your point, America has made Skyrim, Civilization, Half life, Shovel Knight, and many more. You are stereotyping. Japan makes its fair share of violent and brainless games too.

    • @juiceala
      @juiceala 20 днів тому +3

      @ I'm just speaking from my own personal taste, off all the games you listed only shovel knight I liked.
      Also there's a common misconception I often hear Americans use when they talk about video games is they often use the term "western developers" vs " japanese developers", putting aside the fact there are developers from all around the globe not just japan, notice my criticism is with "american" developed games, I quite like many european developers such as travellers tales, sumo digital, even ubisoft made some of my favorite games back in the day, very imaginative and surreal, very fun.

    • @Gewehr_3
      @Gewehr_3 20 днів тому

      @@juiceala
      Sure, because most European devolpers have American subsidaries or vice versa. Rockstar is a great example of that, even Ubisoft was partially owned by EA at some point. I don't see why that's a bad thing.
      Travellers tales? You mean the guys that make lego games? I mean bro, those game developers are third rate compared to Insomniac or Naughty Dog for example. Hell, Travellers tales is known for tanking the Crash Bandicoot IP after taking it over from Naughty Dog.
