Of course he is right. He has monstrous lead techniques but he is so smooth he will never try to force it because there is it seems a bit of subconscious or unconsciousness that takes place if you entrance your self the muscle memory will speak with you Maybe like when you get so in to the music u forget that u were even playing is a good way to induce. This part of your abilities and most importantly don't rush your practice of technique other wise the voice of music might not be heard in such rigorous. Cocky playing Cuz the one thing I have come to about playing music is attitude above all . Don't get so invested in being out front. That it will make u neurotic and imbue your technique with bitter subconscious and will undoubtedly taint the purity of the heart and soul
Great tips, and that partial open E tuning is sweet.
I call it fake open-E.
There's partial open-G by retuning the high E down to D. George Thorogood did that on "Move It On Over".
Now I know why he’s my favorite slide player; vocals and regular guitar playing pretty sick as well.
As a slide player myself this guy is THE BEST!....AND IN STANDARD TUNING
Your caressing it Jack ,,, & it’s mellowing nicely !!!
Yes, it is from the Gibson custom shop. Reminds you of some of their mandolins from the 30s and 40s.
What was the open tune strings tuned to what are the three notes so it's the same you just dropped the top note
@wickyb40 HI, how could you distinguish between a 336 and 339?
Fabulous 🎸🍷
Damn he makes that Gibson sound like a Dobro good night I give up again.
lol
Great Jack!
Best guitarist for tasty licks no one like it and does it on mostly squire guitars these days make me like him more
it's all in the wrist!
what is partial open e??
hey the video freezes at 1.14!
Guys like Larry Carlton, Robben Ford and Derek Trucks all know Jack can eat them for lunch on a bandstand...so pay attention to Mr Pearson.
You're probably right. LC, I think is every bit as good. DT and RF, sit down and take a lesson
Agreed

Those guys have a more distinct sound and that’s why they’re more well known. But I imagine the statement is true if it came to combat
what kind of guitar are u playing by the way??
coyote522 I believe it's an ES345.
Gibson ES-339
@Chromatype Yep.I agree
1:53.. me on slide!! :(
ok can someone explain to me why I thought Derek trucks started this style when it was clearly this guy but you never hear about this dude wtf
You mean playing with a slide? Thats been around for centuries, maybe even more.
You have heard of Duane? And even he didn't start it
@@charleshill9649 no no i was remarking about the vocal sound not slide playing it self i know he didnt invent slide playing
