There are times I listen to Jack Pearson and I almost cannot believe what I'm hearing. I've always loved (since young) Jimi Hendrix and Duane Allman. I really have to put Jack Pearson in this league.
He is known in Germany too. At least to me and I am a huge fan ever since I found him on UA-cam. I was following JD Simo who did some great gigging with Mr. Pearson. In my dreams I wish that Mr. Pearson came to play with Robben Ford. What a scenario...
The finest player alive today ! All styles considered. He can play them all. Listen to the tone . It’s all fingers. Take it from a guitar player of over 50 years..
I'm in in violent agreement, brother. Jack is a one of a kind monster player with unreal skills and technique!! Side-note: I've been to the The Station Inn. It's a small nondescript spot in Nashville. I was there in 2009 to see "The Time Jumpers". I'll leave it there. 😉
Don't know what I like more about this guy, his personality or his unbelievable talented guitar playing. Hes such a humble pearson and an absolute great blues hero!
Real reason Jack isn't a massive name like other guitarists is he is bad for the guitar industry. He plays Squiers & Epiphones & proves that it's all in the hands.
And especially the amplifier. Actually, the reason that he's not well known is because he doesn't have a nickname like "Slash", "The Edge", "The Boss", "Slowhand", "The Killer" (that's a good one), "Lonesome Dave" or "The Motor City Madman", a sparkly gold jacket, some tattoos and he'd be all over the git mags.
I own and love Epiphone Guitars, and I gave my daughter a Squire Telecaster. People need to remember Epiphone was big in the 60s. Look at John Lennon with his Casino Epiphone enough said.
He’s tuned “three frets down.” A step and a half lower than standard. Bending those strings and making that V sing. Awesome, Jack! Daaaaayum. Those other two guys ain’t bad either. Love it!
That C#-standard tuning sounds bad-ass. Growling bass notes and crazy 2-step bends. I heard recently that Jack is now unable to play/perform for health reasons-if anybody has more hidden gems of him in action, please post ‘em on UA-cam, because sadly it seems as if there won’t be any more opportunities to catch him live.
After listening to a recent interview I realized that Gruhn would be out of business if every guitar player had the same gear mentality as Jack. I need to be more like Jack.
I am a big big fan of Mr. Pearson. I play guitar and have unmeasureable amount of respect for abilities and knowledge of guitars. He made some really inexpensive guitars sound great. One of his lessons he gave a great tip to help sort out all the internet stuff. I am also hearing another great real deal guitar player. Her name is ivy Ford. Give her a chance.
That is the Joe Bonnamasa signature flying V.... Jack said he was hanging out with Joe one day and Jack thought it was a vintage V...and then he saw the Epiphone... Joe said that they sent him several of them and Jack just loved em...so Joe said here take one.....😁😁😁
Jack Pearson is a guitar players guitar player. A true maestro . Man everytime I listen to him it's like a trance . He can play like the greatest to do it and without even breaking a sweat . An inspiration of mine forever . I need more videos of him .
he i s the closest ive ever heard to duane allman and what a bluesman one of our generations all time greats. after duane allman the band never had such a good guitar player, and what a lovable humble man,
Its almost like...its not even a guitar...its like water in his hands and fingers and he just plays fluid as f*ck. He really is a jedi master of the craft. Like..he invented it or something. Its mind blowing. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻💪🏼
Jack has always reminded me of Duane more than any other player...wouldn't it be cool if we still had Duane around to see what he would be up to??? Jack's the best.
I'm old enough to have seen Duane play three times before he passed..... I saw Jack play with the Allman Brothers back in 1997....at the BeaconTheatre in NYC.....he is the closest to Duane as I have ever heard ......they both can swing.....takes a unique approach to get that groove going in your playing.....it comes from the groin and not the brain......
Flying V for the flying shuffle I have not ever seen him play the v I always seen jack playing the white strat or his telecaster but he has hotrails double humbuckers for pick up on all his guitars
I believe this is an Epiphone Bonnamassa (sp) that Joe gave Jack. Joe said Epiphone gave him a bunch of them. True or not, Jack liked it, calls it a Flying A.
Flying V, such a great sound for blues. I have to wonder if lighter Gibsons are easier to get blues tones out of, vs the heavy ones? May just be my preference. Great post!
@larryesser9024 hey with all due respect Jack is way beyond those guys. He can play blues like the best, jazz like Wes Montgomery, country like Atkins and Travis. He’s Danny Gatton-like in his versatility…he plays with session guys like Brent Mason…he plays with Tommy Emmanuel and Johnny Hiland…all of these guys in terms of skill in guitar playing are way beyond any of the rock and blues players who everyone knows…yes even Hendrix. Not as popular, but Jack is a standout in Nashville where there is a guitar player on every corner who is better than anyone you’ve ever heard of…he is among the best of all time!
totalement stratosphérique ¡ un souffle a soulever des montagnes : mais pourquoi n'est il pas invité a jouer lors des grands festivals genre CROSSROAD pffffiouuuuu ?¿ pourquoi ?¿ la question est dans la réponse....
He's not in the zone.... he IS the zone.
This!
There are times I listen to Jack Pearson and I almost cannot believe what I'm hearing. I've always loved (since young) Jimi Hendrix and Duane Allman. I really have to put Jack Pearson in this league.
absolutely!
Me too!
He’s definitely a more well rounded player than both.
I caught my guitar watching this video at 3am, with a glass of bourbon, fretboard oil, and a rag.
Hahaha 😂
The single most well-rounded guitarist to ever live, I think.
Yep
Yes👍
.... and largely unknown outside of Nashville and other areas of the South.
Good mandolin player and claw hammer banjo player too. Not to mention singer.
He is known in Germany too. At least to me and I am a huge fan ever since I found him on UA-cam. I was following JD Simo who did some great gigging with Mr. Pearson. In my dreams I wish that Mr. Pearson came to play with Robben Ford. What a scenario...

nice play on words!
Jack goes places no one else can go. A Wizard
Lonnie Mack, Roy Buchanan, Albert Collins, Albert King.......it's all in there and as smooth as it gets.
And some Duane Allman licks when he plays slide.
Jack has an insane tone and his playing is marvelous. He is a genius. Regards from Germany.
Real reason Jack isn't a massive name like other guitarists is he is bad for the guitar industry. He plays Squiers & Epiphones & proves that it's all in the hands.

Agreed. I've played different guitars through different amps and always sounded the same, haha!
Put any guitar and amp in the hands of this man and it will sound awsome. It is allways in the hands of the player. Allways.
I own and love Epiphone Guitars, and I gave my daughter a Squire Telecaster. People need to remember Epiphone was big in the 60s. Look at John Lennon with his Casino Epiphone enough said.
It’s in the heart and the brain.

Daaaaayum. Those other two guys ain’t bad either. Love it!
He makes it look so easy! 😊
He's just so cool and calm while playing just awesome with a controlled feeling and touch. Just a natural player that jams out.
Jack gives me cold chills like Roy Buchanan used to...
Yes you right. I hear a few of Roy's licks in there.
He definitely listened to a lot of Roy Buchanan
Ol Roy was a fantastic player sad to hear that he was depressed and committed suicide. Damn shame
@WeAreNotAmused or did Fairfax County VA cops kill him and claim suicide in his jail cell? Danny Gatton definitely shot himself.
Dang. I've never heard of this guy. Can't believe it. B3 player is killing it too!
Just fantastic! If Hendrix were still alive I think he might sound something like this ❤️
Brother Jack is so silky and smoooooth, such an underrated Guitar Player, He Rules, Cousin Figel
Jacks unreal so well rounded god bless you jack
Jack is a groovin' monster! Organist and drummer are right in that pocket. Great three piece band. Swing it Jack!!!!!!
He follows changes like Albert Lee, totally natural without a thought...
Reminds me of Roy Buchanan big time beautiful
One of the greatest who play blues.......No question about it!
Remember, Jack call this shape of guitar a “flying A”… Love it! That is a really good sounding guitar.
Could also be a flying Y
Wow, that was like the PERFECT shuffle blues jam. Go Jack Pearson, amazing!
jack is as good as it gets!!!
How this man doesn´t travel arround the world teaching the real blues and feeling!!!
Because a lot of what he does is jazz.
@@naitsabes3328 but he does have a very good teaching website, but I’ve never seen any marketing for it.
This kicks ass :)
This guy is absolutely phenomenal
After listening to a recent interview I realized that Gruhn would be out of business if every guitar player had the same gear mentality as Jack. I need to be more like Jack.
Yep we all need to learn to play what we have and not worry about the gear so much.
Can we give it up for the band as well, those guys are absolute Aces.
I just learned about him. He is exceptional.
Jack is a legend ! so damn smooth and great phrasing .Just great! ty for sharing .
I am a big big fan of Mr. Pearson. I play guitar and have unmeasureable amount of respect for abilities and knowledge of guitars. He made some really inexpensive guitars sound great. The whole trio sounds absolutely fantastic, and SO casual, like it's SO easy for them!
I can watch this all day....and have been. Wow just wow....his feel is off the charts!
Yep and couldn't be more relaxed
i feel real cozy when Jack playing
That is the Joe Bonnamasa signature flying V.... Jack said he was hanging out with Joe one day and Jack thought it was a vintage V...and then he saw the Epiphone... Joe said that they sent him several of them and Jack just loved em...so Joe said here take one.....😁😁😁
Cool story, thanks for sharing!
He frequently rocks a Squire Strat as well. Just goes to show it's about the player not the gear.
He played in the band
Lol the old timer sleeping nearly falls off the chair at end 😂
Holy smoke man.. the entire band is awesome!!! Good job guys!! lol
It just doesn't get better than this. Jack has time for days and what a sound!
Yes, incredible time. Just wow... that's hard to do. And a badass sound
Jack Pearson is a guitar players guitar player. A true maestro . Man everytime I listen to him it's like a trance . He can play like the greatest to do it and without even breaking a sweat . An inspiration of mine forever . I need more videos of him .
Love this stuff. Jack's playing all of the strings not just the top three strings. Respect Sir Los Angeles
Warning: Genius At Work
Smooth effortless timing impeccable
Great person and player! Love his playing!
Damn you guys are so lucky to have a beer and watch Jack in person ! Man I'd brag about that to no end. Thanks for posting these are jems .
he i s the closest ive ever heard to duane allman and what a bluesman one of our generations all time greats. after duane allman the band never had such a good guitar player, and what a lovable humble man,
Jack's the man.
Great playing Jack, love it, and, if I may say so myself, what a band you picked!...thanks for the the music!
The drummer holds a nice groove shuffler !!! Beautiful , the organ player too !!!! Amazing !!!!
Jack has always reminded me of Duane more than any other player...wouldn't it be cool if we still had Duane around to see what he would be up to??? Jack's the best.

Jack P making magic.....
Walked in a little late to an ABB concert some 25 years ago. Wondered who the guy wearing the hat playing with Dickey was...
Una scoperta incredibile di oggi..chitarrista blues entusiasmante. Spettacolare!
Love this guy!!! And the whole band is great too!
Those bends!
What bends? lol
Tuned down too.
Wow 😮😮😮 👏🏼 👏🏼
I discovered him today !
The least known Allman Brothers guitarist. Saw him with Gov’t Mule at the Beacon on NYE 2015. Fantabulous!
Must be that c# tuning that Jack likes so much
Lowwww down see sharp.
The real deal! very nice!!!! great feel brother! Cheers from Memphis Tn!
Lonnie Mack at 4:08 how frickin bad is that.......................................Jack yer the man!
Jack's nick name should be Butter... because he is just as smooth.....🎸🎸🎸🎸
On the Squire guitars he plays, they are all stock. No mods at all. They average a hundred bucks each.
Wow! A little Danny Gatton!
Daaaaaaamn.........
Reminds me of Eric Clapton back when he was good in the early 70s.
Amazing!
A Smooth Groovin Cat !
Flying V, such a great sound for blues. I have to wonder if lighter Gibsons are easier to get blues tones out of, vs the heavy ones? May just be my preference. Great post!
kinda reminds me ov roy buchanan , a seemingly effortless mastership ov the guitar ...
Thanks for posting this.
Thx
Drummer man too. Effortless swing.
He's absolutely superb
incontestable !
Is this a Epiphone Joe Bonamassa?
One and only
leave on LOOP as you need the time to get the blues ridum into the hypno part of the brain
WOW
Boy can swing.....
Tuned down to D or C it sounds like 👍
C.
Thats how he's bending 3 steps too...lol Albert King trick with the tune down
I think he might be playing a Joe Bonamassa Amos
I think you’re correct it has the black pick guard with the white poker chip
And the golden truss rod cover! You are right!
I also own one of these: killer guitar! However, he can make it
sound a lot better than I can … .
@@yannick2047 his comes with extra notes😂🤣
Jack Pearson blues
joe bonnamasa gave him the V
Good lord he's so infinitely much better than Bonamassa. And JB would never touch such a cheapo Epiphone
🤯🤯🤯 sooo goood!
Hey can your hold my beer I have to go on stage and play guitar.....
Jack.... You coming back?
Sure just hang on
@larryesser9024 hey with all due respect Jack is way beyond those guys. He can play blues like the best, jazz like Wes Montgomery, country like Atkins and Travis. Modern blues is getting to jazzy for my taste.
Yes, I much prefer blues of the Baroque period played on period instruments. :)
😅@@jefflevy3557
Is that low c tuning mabey anyone know
Low C# I think.
Yes is is. HE got that from Freddie King
totalement stratosphérique ¡ un souffle a soulever des montagnes : mais pourquoi n'est il pas invité a jouer lors des grands festivals genre CROSSROAD pffffiouuuuu ?¿ pourquoi ?¿ la question est dans la réponse....
This V is tuned way down...just like Albert king. Loose strings, huge bends.....A. King style!!
Oh so tasteful…..sustained notes kill it….
