This past weekend with Billy Strings brought me to Jack. Wow, what a master
Me too he seems like a great person
Same
Same. First time I seen Billy play I was like damn, so if he hyped up someone else as being great, I’m checking them out. 🤘🏻
ha ha yeah me too bruva
Same. Thanks Billy.
Billy Strings mentioning jack Pearson as an absolute master (never heard of him), looking hing up, watching him play a Squier as he does. These are moments that shake the guitar-industry, youtubers included! 😝
probably one of the most under recognized guitarists
He isn't so much under recognized as there are sooo many good players known today but I agree, this man has been around for a long time and he has been very good for almost as long..
The day there is a Jack Pearson video that doesn't have hundreds of comments about Fender Squiers the world will implode.
I appreciate your plight.
I have a Squire signed by Col Bruce Hamton 1 week before he passed. I was telling him sorry about signing my mexican strat and he tells me that it's Jack's go to are! All ways loved Jack and had no idea that's what he played
I could be wrong but I think he intentionally plays Squire as an artistic statement. That said, it kind of is an inside secret that Squires actually really are good guitars especially if it’s properly set up and well maintained or modded.
🤣👍
Holy shit he is playing a squire
yes sir! that's a FENDER SQUIRE! TONE IS IN THE HANDS of a master! ROCK ON JACK!
Why doesn't my Squire sound like that?
@@TheDesertwalker We're all wondering the same thing haha.
And bog standard too
It doesn’t matter
@@TheDesertwalker I can help you. Practice your soloing in a super quiet room without an amp. Do this a few minutes a day for a month. Your touch/feel with go through the roof.
One of the smoothest sets of guitar hands I've ever seen. He plays effortlessly...
Playing one of the cheapest guitars you can find. Let's you know it's not the instrument that makes the player hah
And he plays a Squire, and who said Squires sucked. It's all in the hands 🎸👋
It's always in the picking hand. All the greats have unreal right hands. Or picking hands.
@Douglas James ♪ actually, it depends. Sometimes you can stumble on a gem. I had one that played like a professional, but I lost it in a house fire 🏠🔥🎸😢
As someone said previously, he plays a cheap squire, and I think I saw a video where he buys these secondhand from pawn shops as he likes a certain era, if I had a cushop shop strat I'd sell it and spend the money on lessons.
Effortlessly hitting every spot and ticking every box. This chap has really put his 10,000 hours in, and it shows
The epitome of a great player that doesn't need the greatest gear to be a great player. I deeply respect the fact the he is an amazing player that uses his hands to play and get amazing tone. Truly a guitar player.
there is nothing like watching a master of guitar tune their instrument. so insightful
Dickey Betts once said about Jack Pearson, "Either we hire him, or I need to take lessons from him."
I've heard everybody...or so I thought! Man, Jack is fabulous. Tommy Emmanuel said he was fabulous so I'm checking him out. Love it!
Gotta love the touch he puts to this song.
I've played AT Blue Sky my entire adult life!
And I say play AT, because I've pulled this off with pretty much the entire AB groove.
But listening to Jack's feel is exactly what this tune needed to refresh the same chill "Eat A Peach" rendition...and this shit is working!
Although, I still try and replicate the note for note...just to get the rush from managing to play to play through without too many missed notes!
Always great to hear great music from a different perspective!
When you see Jack shoot that little smile as he is playing you know you are in for a treat. I could listen (and have ) to for hours. Love this band with Charles Treadway and Joshua Hunt. I sure miss them playing out in Nashville.
This guy is severely underrated
Ryan Ferris He’s not underrated at all. Not to his peers or his Fans. He may be unknown to most people, but he isn’t underrated.
I think we are all on the same page. Pearson is undeniably a great musician, unknown and under appreciated by the general public. 😎
@@timothylewis2450 because he plays a budget guitars is a factor!! I know snobs out there that wouldn’t give him a minute because he’s not playing big name instruments!
@@ryanferris7841 There are definitely some like that!
unknown maybe, but not underrated! Jack is among the omnipotent
3 guys and a Squire! Awesome. Squire vs. Fender is the same as Yamaha acoustic vs. anything else. $600.00 vs. $4,000. It's not the wand it's the magician.
Not to be that guy, but cheap Breedlove acoustics are the best for the $300-$400 range. Now if you're talking about like $200, then yeah nothing beats a Yamaha at that price range.
Even though Dickie Betts wrote this song (my all time favorite from A.B.B.) Jack lends his magic to it every time. Thanks to both Betts & Pearson ( you have not lived until you hear this live !!! ).
The subtle magnificence is overwhelming. I only wish the two nights a strolled down Broadstreet would have led me to this treasure.
Jack's one of the best ! ! Words are useless when describing what he has musically.
Makes me want to move to Nashville just so i could watch Jack Pearson play live .
Came here from the Beato - Emmanuel interview. Tommy’s right, this gentleman has a ton of heartfelt improv up his sleeve as well as rock-solid arrangements.
Me too! I'd never heard of Jack Pearson. Wow.
Yes, I was not surprised to hear TE declare that. Yes, there you have it.
Some of the tastiest licks my ears have ever feasted upon
Thanks to the Allman brothers. They did it better
Playing a Squire, ladies and gentlemen. and playing the sh*t out of it, I might add
i got a Squire.......
Squier!
Nothing at all wrong with a squier. I've got a tele and a jazzmaster. Both are fantastic instruments.
For Jack it's just a six string, brand doesn't matter
SQUIER...why do so MANY get the proper spelling WRONG?? 😏
That was beautiful. Tom Bukovac brought me here.
That vibe. I'm on a roller-coaster made of cloufs right now.
How does this get dislikes?? That drummer is groovin his ass off. The organ adds nice warmth and bottom and Jack’s tone is sweet!
Because the Allman brothers did it better.
A "proper" guitar player from the old school! upvoted by me thats for sure!
I want to play like Jack when I grow up......I'm 60 so I hope I grow up soon !
I know what you mean , I'm right behind you at 58.
Jack sets it right, its not the price of the guitar, its who's hands its in. great playing. Dwayne would be proud..
I'm sooooo late to the Jack Pearson party... he's got it.
Boys and girls, you can learn a shitload about how to play a guitar by studying this video. Jack is playing a cheap Squire and making it sound like a million bucks. His fingers and technique are pure magic.
You don't get to join the Allman Brothers Band unless you can make a Squier (or pretty much any guitar) sound better than a million bucks. Jack is one of those rare breeds.
He is great but squires sound great to begin with
Sad that such a Master Player can't afford a decent guitar, this one sounds like crap.
Proof that it's the player, not the instrument. My favorite guitars are less than $500. This guy is worth the praise.
He said he bought his red squire for 79$ and didn't even modify it)
I Could be wrong here but I think he intentionally plays Squire as an artistic statement or maybe to be a “contrarian”. That said, Squires truly are great guitars especially when properly set up. My Squire bass is better in my opinion than a Fender especially since the cheap wood makes it light weight and more comfortable
I've got a 22 year old Epiphone Les Paul Custom. Im always drawn back to it.
They must have made a happy mistake with it in the factory it's so nice to play.
Amazing tone. I feel like I am covered in butter as that was amazingly smooth.
Holy moly that was impressive. Wow!
Rockin' a Squier and making it sing! Love it!
I've only recently discovered this guy. He's absurdly good!
jack really has the spirit of this song down. i think dicky would be proud. just incredible
Looking out the same window Dicky did when he wrote this song is a memorable experience 😊….
In the Living room at the Big
House in Macon GA.
RIP Dicky Betts from your fans in your hometown of Bradenton Florida
Amazing version! Jack Pearson such a great player.
Thanks Jack.... keeping the spirit of music alive indeed!!!!
The comments regarding Jack Pearson remind me of Albert Lee. Never quite the star, or main attraction, but boy can both men play a fine guitar! I'd respectfully take Albert Lee over most guitarists, and Pearson is dandy as well. Both evoke a love for music, and humility. Amen
....Great job Jack and friends.....
Wow ! great solo man , real master class and so much fun 🤙🏽
Very nice, loved the interplay between guitar and drums.
it's amazing how smooth his hands travels around your neck
Hell yes!!!!! The master shows how it is done! On a Squire Strat at that!
Agreed, if only he could afford a decent sounding guitar, it would be amazing.
Jack is just amazing to watch. He has this really soft touch....got to see him up close in Nashville and meet him several years ago. Cool player.
I was never a real guitarist and despite being an ABB fan had never heard of Jack until about 3 months ago. Now I've listened to I think everything he has on youtube. Several times.
How could you be an ABB fan and never heard of Jack? He played with them for a couple of years in the late 1990s. Not busting your balls, just genuinely curious.
I can't believe I hadn't seen his until today ! Jack is just great as always ! Thanks Natasha !
This is soul work transitioned from another dimension, beautiful!
My absolute favorite track of The Allman Brothers Band
Mine too! This song got me through cancer treatments. I listened to it at least once a day. My absolute 'happy song.'
I hope someday I can play in such a way that touches people like this song and this player touch an audience.
Jack’s a tremendously good player - I could quite happily listen to him all day. He seems a super chill guy too!
Forget about the guitar he’s playing! It’s not the guitar your hearing it’s the master behind it, tone is hardwired into a talented musician brain! It’s there from birth.
A great guy to jam with--gives you a look and a smile and so it goes:-)
What a deft, and light touch. It's like his hands are floating. Makes it look effortless.
One of the best players on the planet.
I have three Squier Strats at home, they're good but I wanted a USA Fender Strat. I picked the best one I could find under $1000. I returned it the next day because all the Squiers sounded better. The best guitar player I ever had the honor to play with played a Squier and was killin it. Now Jack Pearson. I guess the cats out of the bag.
My back hurts just looking at that B3.
Wow. Drummer & jack. Thank you Brother
Few players seem so effortless that they play as if they are an open window to the music. It just flows through them. Stevie Ray had that ability, and so does Jack.
SRV always looked pained to me, Jack definitely isn't
His guitar playing is phenomenal but I always come back to this version of the song because of Jack’s singing.
Kenny Vaughn sent me here…when one master sends you to have a hear of another master, if you have any sense, you do it….thank you Kenny.
That was incredible.
Here because of the Tommy Emanuel interview with Rick Beato (name dropping by Tommy)
Jack plays effortlessly, and is a true master of many styles!
They’ve passed on, but the presenter would benefit from attention to Danny Gatton, and Roy Buchanan, who, along w/ Terry Kath, three of the most under-recognized of all time. Jack Pearson is definitely right there with any of them.
Master player! A monster. What a touch.
Beautiful playing JP!!! Thank you for posting this awesome video🏞😀🎸🍄👍
Amazing player! He inspired me to stop wasting hours every day scrolling through gear forums and UA-cam videos about gear. Obsessing over gear never got me very far. Now I pick up my Squier Bullet Strat and just play instead. It's made all the difference!
Wonderful version ... love it ! Jack , as ever is just one of the very best ... band sounds terrific ... I miss having a bass player in there .. cant help it but I do ....
Beautiful work
Sounds great.Thanks for posting.
Love Jacks playing so much
Fun fact: Jack Pearson plays a stock Fender Squire. Factory pickups etc. For those who don't know, Squire is the "affordable" line of Fender guitars much like Gibson's Epiphone line. In other words, Jack Pearson gets a legendary guitar tone out of a cheap guitar made in China and Indonesia.
This guy has a touch that's lighter that a butterfly wearing slippers.
Wow, he plays so well, it's hard to believe he can't afford a decent guitar.
Does he even change the tuners on them? Seems like he would because the factory tuners suck badly
Jack is one of greatest guitar players of our times
Holy smokes. Came here from the Rhett Schull video. The guy’s totally as advertised. Really made this - one of my favorite songs but also one where neither Duane nor Dickey plays a single note out of the major scale - and really takes it somewhere special. And I think I own that very guitar and it’s really true that it’s not just a great cheap guitar but a great guitar. There’s something about those pickups (I think that’s the Classic Vibe ‘66 in Lake Placid Blue) that just makes them work, especially for a guy like that who has such a soft touch and gives his tone some space.
The hell with what guitar he plays, he is Jack Pearson and he’s about as good as it gets.
Giant. One more that proves sound & musical quality are 99% hands. It's been many, many years since almost all guitars are made good & people should play what fits them well. Question is do they know what does. Ts incredible how many (well, ts most, ts 90%) people live their idol's reality...
Dude can play like nobody's business! Everybody comments on his Squier strats. Yes, they are less expensive but I have one that is pretty much one of my best guitars. Anyone that thinks there is a huge difference between the $300 ones and the $3,000 ones is either a snob or doesn't know much about guitars. I think he does this just to prove that point (and succeeds)!
im not a snob but i love my American Standard
My favorite is a Japanese that I own. No matter the label... it’s a bunch of parts that either come together to make magic or they don’t.
I've got an Indonesian made jazzmaster hh and it's fantastic. Feels like a guitar 10 times the price I paid.
Its a squire guitar with primo pickups... not to mention the high quality amp hes playing through. people need to stop acting like he walked into guitar center and grabbed a squire off the rack.
@@SJW-bi1hh Amp was a Fender that the audio cruise provided (a Deluxe - stock) and the pick ups are the cheap ceramic pickups that were factory installed. So, what he actually did was walked into a Guitar Center and bought it off the rack. Originally, he was buying it for a friends' daughter (he didn't want to spend a lot of money), but the friends' daughter changed her mind. He eventually went back and bought a few more. I'm his cartage guy.
I'm sad that I have only just recently been made aware of this treasure. I'm on a mission to include any vinyl this fine gentleman is a part of.
looking forward to seeing this man at peachfest in a few months.
Great performance!
Why is Jack Pearson just better than everybody else?
Because he didn't spend too long in the soul killing world of "big time" musicians. Then again, he was probably amazing at 18.
The Allman brothers did much better on this song.
Keep calm and listen to Jack Pearson. :)
BEAUTIFUL BRO
Jack is so good, and so tasteful in his phrasing. Always a pleasure to watch/listen.
You're amazing Jack!
Proof positive that it's all in the hands, not the gear. (That's a Squier Strat he's playing so beautifully)
Everyone should be taking notes. Jack is so effortless.
Hell he can make that Squire do just about anything, awesome!
Thank you Dickey Betts!!
I like that he goes beyond the pentatonic scale; uses the full major scale and, every now and then, the blues scale. Those are things that I try to do when I solo on this song, too.
A classic vibe squire.
nope its a bullet lol
He Is Just Awesome..
Jack Pearson and Jeff Beck can/could make those Squires sing. Jack is a wonderfully nice guy. My bass player brought him over to my house in Austin before he played with the Allman Brothers Band in Austin. Dickey Betts was playing that show. Rest in Peace Dickey.
I'm pretty sure Jeff Beck didn't play a Squire.
A squire is equally good as Fender especially after mods. The reason why they’re cheap is because it’s made by Cort guitars with Fenders instructions.
Jack is a GOAT
Still blows my mind that this guy plays Squiers. Hey Fender, would it kill ya to send this dude a custom shop guitar?
What's wrong with the Squire??? It sounds awesome
It's in the hands not the guitar...
He has fender guitars but he like the squier bullet, like me...
I think he could probably get whatever guitar he wants. He's told the story that he went to pick out a guitar for his friend's daughter and discovered how great bullet strats sound. His only trick is finding the most acoustically resonant guitar of the bunch.
Bill Bradski You’re not going to travel/go on a blues cruise with an expensive guitar anyway.
Great Player...very Allman brotherish-,)
He was a member of the Allman Brothers Band for a period of time.
Beyond the beyond!
I still can’t believe he plays stock squires live lol. Goes to show how much of gear is just hype.
Great player but tone actually isn't that great. Sounds like a tube screamer. Super compressed and can't actually hear the guitar.
@@prattacaster you can’t hear the guitar, what exactly were you listening to?
They are not stock. He does do some work them.
Listen to his melodies, I mean I enjoy Dicky Betts, he pays respect to the tune and has made it his own, a fantastic improviser who puts in his own touch and some jazz oriënted stuff, respect sir.
