Encroaching Mycosynth has some different play than Lattice. It hits graveyards, so if you’re playing something with blue and red, all your goblin welders and stuff, your artifact tutors, they can get almost whatever they want. It’s what I thought Lattice did when I first started playing!
Urabrask‘s Forge is good in Karlach Decks I think. If you cast it on T3 by the time Karlach comes out you get a 3/1 with first strike, trample and haste for your first combat and an additional 4/1 with trample and haste on your second combat (and usually the 3/1 can attack a second time because you can’t really block it efficiently) So that’s 10 damage coming from a 3 Mana Source on your first Karlach turn.
@@mirkoaj4299 I am glad you think so, because I merely quoted you :-D I wanted to stick up for you after the Nerds trashed the card and you told me how good you thought it was in the deck
I think Cherries is heavily underestimating All Will Be One. Mainly in Grull +1/+1 counters decks. In Halana and Alena it just throws 10+ damage at people every turn! And Chishiro divides up that 10 damage however you want!
I'm absolutely looking to get it for Chishiro. It gives that deck an effective and repeatable non-combat damage source, which is something they usually lack.
Agreed. I’m putting it in a deck that’s not nearly as tuned, but in my Ramos Sagas deck. Just gonna throw around a bunch of instances of 1 damage each time a lore counter gets put on a saga
Yeah I already saw All Will Be One in standard RDW… in a slower format it will be even more devastating with Sagas, Planeswalkers, and even something as innocent as a Stonecoil Serpent
I think Nissa, Ascended Animist fits very well in a Trostani deck even though that's not mono-green. Copying those big tokens with Populate and gaining life at the same time is quite nice. Plus you're obviously going to be plaing Mondrak with it. :) I was amazed the Moxfield ad didn't show up after Font of Progress.
I really, really hope Elesh Norn doesn't eat a ban, I think it's completely unreasonable to even consider her worthy of a ban but the community outrage scares me, she seems so fun to build around
I think that idiot Sheldon should have never opened his mouth about it. “Please never print this card.” Like really dude? There are a hundred cards that are worse to play agains in the format
I built it and honestly its powerful but boring and taxing to play - when you start flickering your entire board and you've got token triggers, ramp, card draw, and cathars crusade and gain X life etc it actually just becomes a headache to resolve, and no one is excited about it lol
Yeah, the weird thing about these "ult and hang out" walkers is that they already "did the thing", so they shouldn't ostensibly be as big a target as something ticking up to a -8 winthegame. Drop it as a board clear behind something relatively large with hexproof and no one should to swing at it in combat because they can only swing at it with one creature per turn and it isn't like it's ticking up to anything larger than a board clear.
Boar wipes have a lot of competition. Farewell at 6, Damn at 4, Toxic Deluge at 3, Vanquish the Hordes at 2 and Blasphemous Act at 1. As a 6 mana board wipe it gets outclassed by these options very easily in most decks. This card is really only better than the alternatives if you have synergy with it, but if you do, it is definitely worth an include. If I pick one up I might play it in my Brago deck, where it has a lot of synergy with the deck. Board wipes are always good cards in commander, but this one is nothing special. C or C- is an accurate grade for it
@@garagavia the point is (and what you seem to have missed) is that this doesn’t wipe the board. It saves your best creature and is perfect for voltron style decks where you have one beefy or important commander. That's worth the extra one mana (in addition to the planeswalker still being around, protected by your big beefy creature).
I didn't even realize it costs 2 OIL COUNTERS to get 1 card off Norn's Wellspring. I had it in my janky mono white poison deck I'm building with Skrel. But this sent me down a rabbit hole looking for a better option and I found Infiltration Lens, let my toxic/ infect creature past or give me two cards please! and it only costs like .50 cents
Seems like it would be annoying to cast on 4, because it conflicts with Halvar's mana cost. Or do you usually play the back side? I've never played against Halvar before, so I'm not too familiar with how it plays out.
My Halvar deck is a converted Lyra, Dawnbringer deck so it’s full of high costed Angels. Adding in this 4 drop is a bit off theme for the deck but I could get it out earlier. The deck is full of ways to cheat equipment onto creatures but occasionally I’ll need mana to equip a sword or armor. Anyway, I never play the back side of Halvar and I always want his abilities onboard when I swing in. It’s only win-cons are swinging in with lethal damage. I have surprised people by one-shotting them with Halvar equipped with Colossus Hammer and some type of evasion. The deck is casual and the power level is probably 6 or 7. (Mono white has pretty limited board interaction.)
One note on Vraan, and why I (who is a regular aristocrats player) would not consider cutting any existing blood artist for him: Normally, aristocrats decks care about the number of death triggers, and he provides only one per turn

I feel like Ichormoon Gauntlet is super underrated in your scale. I don't think it's as scary as other people say but i also think that the planes walker part isn't the scary part. It's the second ability. In a storm deck or an artifact or enchantment deck it can easily put you ahead of the game and in a commanding position. I'm putting it in my magnus deck and it pairs super well with fluxchanneler
I want to put Blade of Shared souls in the Urza precon. If it becomes a construct that's two more artifacts on the field and one more artifact creature. Is it super efficient? Idk, but it's little synergies that weren't shown off for abusability like that I enjoy.
Would love it if you moved the marks under the card so that the art is visible. Watching from a phone makes it hard to read and the artwork helps identifying the cards. Great video anyway as always. Keep rocking.
I'm considering Phyrexian Vidicator for my Rem, Stalwart Slayer deck; I can choose the priority of whose effect negates the damage; so I play a damaging board clear a la Blas Act; and this guy deals 13 damage to whatever I want.

I don't wanna hold up sacrifices/death triggers for each turn, in hopes to ping 8 damage, when I can just do the same thing in one play. Urabrask's Forge is gonna be really good in certain Aristocrats decks that care about death triggers/sacrifice abilities. It gets absolutely crazy when proliferate is involved, as well. Rite of the Raging storm is NOT better than UF. Opponents don't have to attack with the elementals, and can potentially benefit off of their own triggers. P.S.: Leave Tergrid and Elesh Norn 2.0 alone. If you can have your win-combos, I can have my mono-black shenanigans. Norn 2.0 deserves a chance to prove that she's busted.
I disagree with the Phyrexian Vindicator it has a home in devotion decks having 4 pips of a single color and it’s ahead of the mana curve as a 5/5 with flying.
Urabrask's Forge is an F? You lost me there. The card is sick, it churns out a creature every turn that slowly gets bigger (or quickly if you play counter doubling/proliferate). Get it out early and you have a mid-game threat. Pair it with a token doubler like Mondrak or Doubling Season and you're making multiple threats. Yes, it requires other cards to make it pop off quick, and yes it is an artifact which makes it easy to remove these days, but I still say it's C grade at least, B- at best and that's when you think of the combos with the card.
Where is the Elsh Norn hype (that it's problematic, not that it's good) coming from? I mean the design sucks but I even play blink and idk if it is an auto-include at my power level. Maybe at $10 but at the price it's at it might as well not even be a real card from a deck building perspective.
I think they were a bit too low on this card, it definitely has some uses. It also triggers the turn you play it (assuming it ETBs precombat). If you need sac fodder its sweet. Gonna put it in Lord of Tresserhorn.

Phyrexian vindicator + glistening oil + pestilence would be stupid but fun
Man i forgot what strict graders you guys are lol.
I disagree with the Phyrexian Vindicator it has a home in devotion decks having 4 pips of a single color and it’s ahead of the mana curve as a 5/5 with flying.
It won’t break any format but to rate it a D is too far fetched
Maybe I’m wrong but soulless jailer as a hate bear in Winota?
I'm gonna try it out for sure, stops Breach and a lot of other relevant effects in the competitive scene
@@anonymoususer5351 Good point. At least a "try" for Winota-stax cEDH but maybe fits in casual decks too idk
Im wondering how you guys missed Vat of Rebirth
You might be the nitpicking nerds, but I am the best moxfield guesser in the game. 25:52
45:32 is that amber?
Am I the only one who saw Norn and immediately built a critical mass deck around her??
Was there NO moxfield mid roll? The treachery!!
Where is the Elsh Norn hype (that it's problematic, not that it's good) coming from? I mean the design sucks but I even play blink and idk if it is an auto-include at my power level. Maybe at $10 but at the price it's at it might as well not even be a real card from a deck building perspective.
BRO BUY MORE COPIES BRO GIT GUD BRO.
45:32 that's a million dollar question, if I'vd ever heard one...
Jetmir + gleeful demolition 🤔
Staff of compleation might be ok with Vilis but it's too slow
10:15 Rem Karolus, Stalwart Slayer maybe?
That's still four white pips in a Boros deck that want primarily red effects... But could absolutely be good there.
umbrask forge for the Brion Stoutarm deck
Moxfield ad guess: 38:59
hehe
If only Balde of Shared Souls let you copy a legend without legend-ruiling. That would give it more of a niche.
Urbrasks forge was made for 1 thing and 1 thing only my jinni fey deck
I think they were a bit too low on this card, it definitely has some uses. It also triggers the turn you play it (assuming it ETBs precombat). If you need sac fodder its sweet. Gonna put it in Lord of Tresserhorn.
I like venser, he still cool
