Hi Dereton Had one of these some years now, I found it best to only use a plain loo roll not the thicker type, once while cleaning I flushed a piece of paper towel roll down, & yes it jammed the pump so I had to take rear hose off, good job I was only cleaning it at the time, mine is in an out building, in winter at night last thing give it two flushs so it won't freeze, 👍🇬🇧.
Another great video .done a few of these myself. all i would say dont buy really a cheap one as they dont seem to last. beter off just paying little bit extra.keep up the good work.
Ask a stupid question, but does the macerator, macerate on every flush, jobbie or none? I'm thinking that if the water level triggers the churner and you have your sink connected to it, every time you use the sink it will be noisy. So why do people even connect their sinks to it?
Hi Al, I finally got round to fitting the very same macerator (I was let down by builders for over 2 months!!!). Should it operate continuously whilst the toilet is flushing. Mine pulses 6 times whilst the toilet is flushing. Tia.
Hi can you tell me if you put a jubilee clip around the black discharge pipe to secure, or do you just push in, unfortunately I can't see if you used one. Many thanks Karl
Great video. Just a question how much distance can you have the macerator from the wc?. I mean if its noisy can you have a normal soil pipe connected and the macerator some distance away?
Why do most say in the descriptions of macerators that the length to the first bend has to be 0.5m ? Is that a total requirement or why do they state that. Good job by the way brilliant plumber
@@dereton33 am I wrong that it’s a tight bend here or I’ve seen most with a 90 straight out of the macerator that’s what I couldn’t understand, I’m hoping to use one you see so just visualising my setup thanks
Great Video Al, I noticed that you didn't need to install a vent pipe for the Macerator to work. Did this model not require venting or can you make do without one?👍
@@dereton33 I was waiting for you to mention the cap that's fitted next to the outlet pipe. On mine it's a vent but this was used as the inlet pipe from a sink. I'm having to change it because a capacitor blew (changed capacitor but seal wasn't as good so water got in) and I'm about to swap them out. I'm still unclear on the whole venting thing and my plumber is none the wiser either. It would be nice to know one way or another if using the vent as an inlet is fine or not but I guess if the sink isn't doing anything when the toilet is flushing it can't hurt? My model is the SaniPro XR
I became a plumber watching your videos ....Your videos are still useful 2022...Thanks a billion times
That is so kind of you. thank you
Hi Dereton

Thanks for the info Grahame.
Great job . As a plumber I know how hard it is to get all that in a small space . 👍👍👍
You got that right!
Thanks for a great video showing an installation in a difficult space, typical of real life.
Glad it was helpful!
You can use basic domestic washing up liquid, for lubricating both the pan and gaskets.
Thanks Jeff.
Can that pipe for the waste go up to the first floor then across the room to the connection on the existing waste pipe?
Yes it can.
Nice one Al 👍 them macerators are not nice equipment when they go wrong but they certainly serve a purpose for some installations.
Very true
Hi Sir, I hope you are keeping well? I wanted to ask you a question? Are those pumps reliable? I need one to be fitted at my garden house
Yes, absolutely
@dereton33 Thank you very much
Nice job Al good info as usual, nice to have a choice where to go when you want to go.
Thanks 👍
thanks for most excellent instruction, clearly with a lot of experience.
You are welcome!

Good tip! Thanks.
Hi which one to buy please share a link i need to buy one many thanks
Hi If i get a Saniflo Macerator , can you fit it to a normal convention toilet like my conventional toilet i have in my bathroom upstairs
Yes you can, but not all of them check that the one you buy can.
Great job, real world plumbing. But how did you fill the gap between the wall and the cistern please?
I used a piece of ply.
Hi
Can I connect to existing 40mm waste pipe that already exists for kitchen sink that goes to the stack?
No it has to go to the stack. Wouldn't want poo appearing in the sink waste. Ha ha.
Will I need stop check valves to stop the smell going back to kitchen and bathroom sink?
They come with it if not then yes.
nice one al it's looks like you have a lot to do on this house.
Yes a few more bits and hopefully that`s it.
You missed the only bit I needed, how do you fix the exit elbow bit with the non return valve to the macerator?????? Do you glue it???
Solvent weld .
If you solvent weld you'll never get it out again. Jubilee clip better option?

Must have a long pipe run running up hill or vertical
@@dereton33 Oh, it can pump out too, I get it, thanks.
Where do you connect the waste pipe? Normal drainage?
Yes.
Hi Al, I finally got round to fitting the very same macerator (I was let down by builders for over 2 months!!!). Should it operate continuously whilst the toilet is flushing. Mine pulses 6 times whilst the toilet is flushing. Tia.
It is quite normal for the pulsing noise.
Great videos very from a great person keep it up al thanks
Much appreciated, thanks.
Hi can you tell me if you put a jubilee clip around the black discharge pipe to secure, or do you just push in, unfortunately I can't see if you used one. Many thanks Karl
Yes a large jubilee clip.
@@dereton33 thanks 👍

It is not recommended, but you can.
Has the waste got to go into the soil or can it go into normal drain
Into the soil pipe.
Hi there have you any links for toilet and Macerator thanks
Plumbworld for mine.
Hi Al, what size waste did you use for the shower and discharge pipe?
32 mm.
Can a macerator toilet be fitted in a summer house?
Sure.
Can we use this for a wet room,, Basin and wc ?
Yes.
Where to buy and what make i want to buy a good quality one
Please advise
A Grunfos one.
@@dereton33 thanks a lot for reply
Use a basin wrench to tighten the tank plastic nuts.
Good idea.
Why do most say in the descriptions of macerators that the length to the first bend has to be 0.5m ? Is that a total requirement or why do they state that. Good job by the way brilliant plumber
The first bit of pressure nearest the pump is very forceful a tight bend would blow off and if it did remain on, also cause blockages.

What is Size waste pipe 36 or 43??
40 MM .
Great Video Al, I noticed that you didn't need to install a vent pipe for the Macerator to work. Did this model not require venting or can you make do without one?👍
No vent required, as with most of these things, it will be ventilated by the soil stack it is fitted into.
