I mostly race electric karts and the No 1 tip I have is to be gentle / sensitive with the throttle. Don't just floor it at the apex like you would in a gas rental. The torque in the electric kart is instant and you can easily slide or go too wide on corner exit. It's important to modulate the throttle so you stay on the limit, but don't go over it.
Let me know how it goes! In my experience, adding ballast weight (+15kg) at an indoor electric kart track gave me more grip in cornering. Check out the full video ua-cam.com/video/oaiS3V2DZoU/v-deo.html
I saw u other comments, im like same weight as u. 102KG. Electric car really can reduced my gap with the fastest lap time of the track. I think u will love it.
I prefer gasoline karts and outdoor tracks because I have a much better natural feel for the throttle response and how the kart performs on most asphalt surfaces or brushed concrete surfaces. They also are usually larger, in length with layouts that have a much better flow and more passing room and opportunity. Indoor tracks are usually too small for my liking with corners that just never really connect well, although I've been to a few with very nice layouts that are fun to drive. I also struggle with the feel of the polished concrete that usually is the choice for indoor tracks and I don't yet have a great feel for throttle modulation to reduce wheel spin and increase forward bite out of the corners with the instant torque and the on/off switch nature of many electric kart throttle petals. I honestly have never really noticed decreased performance in later laps with electric karts either. I find my fastest lap is usually one of the last 3 laps, when tires are at optimal temps.
@@Thewiseman198what kind of stupid comment is that? Why do people drive and race? Because it’s fun and makes you feel alive. An engine gives you that excitement and is more satisfying to drive as you need more skill.
I prefer petrol karts as the sound and heat add to the excitement of the race. I've driven both petrol and elctric and its interesting how the differences in karts affects your driving style.
Non emotional answer to make a true comparison 1) Petrol carts are lighter in comparison of weight as. They don't have battery 2) as the cart is in a drift There is lesser load on the hands On a lighter petrol machine 3) the mid range of powerful revs feel stormy on a low ground clearance and frugal light petrol cart ,in comparison to a refined well balanced electric wit a bigger heavily stearing wheel . 4) as the petrol cart is a lot more basic and noisy and raw it is a bigger rush and is a lot more scary fun full of adrenaline pump.. PETROL winns for all the above reasons.
drove electric with on a colleague's day out and i am the most weight 115kg of all i won the race to my surprise those electric karts where nuts . instant power top speed 70kph in about 4.5 seconds .complete different experience to 4 stroke rentals. loved it
The sound and smell of petrol engines are very difficult elements for electric to overcome. However, other than those sensory aspects, electric karts are already more advanced and offer better performance than their petrol counterparts.
onestly i prefer gas cause ive droven eletric ones i get its good but the takeoff is just to fast for me i rather a gas one and race so it takes time to build up speed rather then it just launching me and at the slightest touch of an eletric cart it loses most of its speed like if you bump the wall or hit sombody a little and it almost completley stops you
I prefer petrol karts sure slow at start but I realised that despite that they are faster than electric karts not to mention that they don't need to be recharge after every races also they are fun to race with! electric karts feels more like an elevator on 4 wheels
I also like petrol kart more because of the sound and feeling like driving formula. For me electric things are good only for cell phones and computers not for wheels.
Electric kart or Petrol kart? Let us know which one you prefer and why!
*neither is better*
Petrol go karts are way better I race in Honda Cadet in England 🏴
electric because petrol is expensive
Electric for shorter races.
Electric. Cuz its less smelly, and the instant acceleration

Not tried electric yet, but will do soon. Will be interesting to see if my weight has more or less of an effect

i prefer petrol as the sound and engine roars get me more excited
Personally I like the lower risk of getting in electric car since you have a lower chance of burning yourself on an engine
Bruh
They don’t do anything youre excitement will not make you skilled 😂

Besides weight, any other suggestions for turning between the 2?
I tried petrol go karts yesterday after trying a slow version of electric ones, and I was not ready for how hard it was to drive it

Petrol karts reminds me of NASCAR, due to how it sounds and other factors
Electric just sounds like F1.
I feel electric go-karting feel slower then gasoline. Both are fun
eletric go karts just have to fast of a takeoff they are fun but just to fast of a takeoff for me
Gas rental karts are dogs man !! Takes forever to build up speed if you're a big guy.
Wow I'm going to buy an electric

Ok hear me out electric go karts stop at the slightest touch for example I hit someone and I couldn’t move at all
WORDDD I SWEAR I HIT THE BREAKS A LITTLE AND THE CART LOSES ALMOST ALL ITS SPEED
skill issue
Yikes the petrol cart engines stick out like a sore thumb
Petrol
I also like petrol kart more because of the sound and feeling like driving formula. For me electric things are good only for cell phones and computers not for wheels.
Petrol karts because petrol is petrol
I like petrol carts cuz they feel much faster
electric karts suck , no texture no feel , put gas in 5 seconds and go again for 1hr can't do that w eclectics and i like smelling like gas after
