GO KARTING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS
Step 1 : be rich
It’s the sad reality of the sport I’ve seen many people in just 8 months have to drop the sport due to cost
I lost at the very first stepp, but I won't let my son to!!
@@Kono01671 Will try to do the same, good objective
Real shit
@@stanislasvoos153 we are together broo!
Some places in the world have amazing support for rental karting that there’s almost no point going into owner karting unless you want to become a real race car driver
Of course, here in Brazil even the rental kart is expensive, a race costs on average the value of 10% of a minimum wage, however there are dozens of championships at various levels.
I went to Daytona Milton Keynes for the first time yesterday, really reminded me of how fun karting is since I haven't done it in so long. Hopefully will be able to make it a more regular thing, shame it's so expensive though.
Indoor karting locally and with KTips community help the BIKC. About £40ish a month is a good starter budget for hobby karting
I got into dirt karting with my mate's, which we run slicks on clay which there's ample traction with the right soft tyres, just completed my 1st full season, my 1st kart was a Arrow AX8 running a KT100 which I then upgraded to a Rotaxmax and now I've got pretty serious about it I've now upgraded my frame to an Arrow X1 for next season
Just start by doing practice sessions, as many as you can, when you have enough experience, start joining sprint races. You could also join race academies, which provides you with lots of track time. Once you’ve done loads of races, practice sessions, and progress higher into your race academy, you can become an advanced driver and then you should be ready to join championships.
Budget wise, on Eefde Karting, the cost is 33 EURO for 2 heats (p.p.) So on average we pay 143 EURO per month per person, I think that's quite OK :)
I get into it through formula student FSAE, i started to kart and gp to different tracks whenever i arrived a new city during travel. I began to develop a universal skillset/concept to be competitive right away when I arrive a new track and new car. I noticed i take much less time to be competitive at a new track than people who only do regular at 1 single track.
Like i only need 2 sessions to get up to speed that can run for podiums at races while others will take more cuz they are too used to their home course
That's exactly how to do it! that's how I did it, arrive and dive once a month. ended up getting better, met people who are now my teammates for endurance races. my budget for the year is about 5000$. that's about 50 hours of practice or 20 hours of practice and 3, 24 hour endurance races.
I only just started karting half a year ago and went karting every few months, now a month or so ago I made my debut in a local championship the AOM (Austrian Outdoor Masters). Now I’ve tried to go karting more often, as you said, twice a month or so. The problem is, my parents don’t let me. I already have to pay the start fees myself, which is 600/700 minimum per weekend. I tried searching for a job, but it’s very limited because I’m only 16. You got any ideas how I can finance all this?
It’s a hard situation to be honest. You must try to find sponsors through karting schools, local or national tracks, karting brands, or any other brand which wants to support a karting driver; etc.
Honestly, I don’t see any other way of keeping with it if it isn’t without sponsors. I hope you can keep doing what you love, mate!
I've recently got into karting and so far I've only done a few races at Lakeside and Sandown Park. Where on the leaderboard would you recomend aiming for within the next few months?
One more
Four-stroke engine championship
It’s cheaper than rm, but frame the same.
Chinese engine about 20 hp (tuning) costs about 300-400$
365$ for a month of rental karting, I wish I could! 😂
That’s the quantity I spend in half a year.
In Spain prices are usually cheaper. There are tracks which offer 3 heats for 30-36€, others are more expensive and can get up to 50€.
And the rental championships are a great way to start. Usually, the cost is around 550-700€ per season, which goes from September to June.
In Madrid there are some tracks which have their own races/championships, and the level is incredible. Usually there’s an amateur category and a pro one, which is where you must aim after doing 20-30 races.
I hope these helps to some of my compatriots!
I started karting when i was 7 jears old in the Netherlands. My father then bought a childen's kart with a 160cc honda engine with 9 hp. With this kart iparticipated in 6 club competitons with this kart. Now i am 12 jears old and my father bought a tillotson t4 Junior kart for me with 18 hp last winter. I might switch to iame x30 or rotax in a few years.
@@Carsandplanes123 dankjewel!
Geen probleem😊
I started in rental. I drove 2 times in a rental. Then my dad bought me a old Tony kart with 9 hp. Then I changed to OK Junior. We didn’t liked that so we changed to a Kart Republic Chassis with a Rotax Junior engine. Still racing.
Hi, I live in Qatar and Im wondering how I can join a karting team. Could you tell me more about that?
Atm i drive rental karting. Started like a few months ago and already setting fastest lap of the months and getting quicker then people that drive there daily (people who work there) and i drive indoor and outdoor and i try to go to a different track everytime so one week this one other week that one so i got like 3 main tracks i go to. Mostly do 3 sessions and that costs around 50 euros per 3 sessions. And thats just normal session if i wanna drive with competetive people its around 80 euros for 3 sessions. And races are around 100 euros to enter. I would love to get into owner karting but in the netherlands its way too expensive to get into that and i also have to save up for my future so yea that
Watching from Florida, USA prices seem similar here for indoor rental karting. Really only kart a couple times a year, but I’m considering taking it more seriously. Looking to practice for and participate in K1 Speed GP to see how far a I get.
Would be interested in any input or personal experience on the topic from anyone who can offer it
I tried karting once in my life I went like 3 times out of track should I try again after 2 years
It honestly makes sense the cost of 1 year of rental karting and racing is about 5500$ or the entry cost into owner karting. I compete in Sodi SWS! you forgot to mention you can also learn to do all your own technical work.
hello, Im looking to get into owner karts but I find it too expensive and I believe I have decents performance on rental karts, is there a cheaper possibility to do owner karts without having to spend 50k a season? and yes even owner kart testing is (kinda) expensive to pay all in once. (my dad earns about 40k a year (he still said it was affordable but looking deep into it its really not for us) and I might work with him to maybe be able to afford some base stuff). im 17 years old born in 2007 and found intrest in the sport about 4-5 years ago and since all I think is to race on proffesional racing series but our budget just doesnt work for us. anything wil be useful as long as I can prove I have the talent to race. thanks!
So I have cerebral palsy which is a physical disability which affects movement (I don't care if people ask about it. If you have a question about it please asl). I do some sim racing but not a lot because I get board quick and Karting is funner but I don't know how to get on a team especially when there's not a lot of Karting places near me and my mom has to take care of a little kid with behavior problems. So how/will sim racing more help with karting.
Also when I sim race I don't do races I do practice laps in a F1 car around spa.
In Russia it’s
Go karting
20$ practice 10 minutes in club kart
50$ race
Sport
300$ rm track day + coach (8 sessions x 15 min)
3000$ one race week class rm Russian championship (team and track)
At 1:40, that's Guy Sheffield isn't it? He was at Sandown too long ago!
Yup, it is 😄
brother where r u from
It’s actually sick that you made it to f4
Hello from Brasil, very good content. Very nice track! Where is it?
Thank you! my local track is Lusail Karting Track
What do I do after I start in rental karting and win the SWS World Finals? Do I approach a kart team?
Yes absolutely! Once you have sufficient experience in rental karting and have the budget for owner karting start looking to join a kart team.
My Parents wont even let me drive 2 sesions per month
Try and convince them that you need more track time to improve your driving
@@kartingtips yeah ik I've tried they just say it's not a sport or something I can do even though I'm at the top of the leaderboard for fastest time at my local track
You can work in karting club and driving for free every day
Who really wants, find possibilities
I made an agreement with my parents that if I do 20 mins of chores per day then I could go karting every week
@@antoniosamaranchi3223 not old enough yet I can only get a summer/vacation job next year
sadly its so expensive you have to be rich to get there but maybee well see more of the gran tourismo 7 stuff (putting simracers in race cars) in the future
How did you get your chance in f4?
The owner of the championship was scouting drivers and we first met in 2018 when he came to Qatar. The following year he offered me a drive in the Formula 4 South East Asia championship.
Thanks
The gut in the first corner Said fu## the Track limits
Haha! The outside kerb is lethal so he decided to drive around it rather than go over it!
To the real karters I’m 13 year old and I can only do practice sessions indoor once a month and don’t know how to progress futher anyone got tips?
Try to convince your parents to take you to an outdoor track, get a gasoline kart(rental) and try your best.
Where are you based mate
I live in Qatar 🇶🇦
I raced only 2 times in diferent months, the first i was bad, spinning and crashing a lot, on the second, i didnt spin because of my errors but crashed twice, all the spins were caused by an dirty driver ahead that spun me 3 times till he got penalized
Any tips on dealing with those?
just seen that some of my footage that i took at the 24hr featured here ITS SO shaky sorry about that lmfao
The footage was excellent! Don't worry about the stabilization
@@kartingtips good to hear my friend
What you describe with Rotax seems insane to me. Those guys are going to go out of business with electrification in the next few years.
Electrification is such a no brainer here, even more so than with cars. Batteries are so small you can probably swap them out probably faster than you can fill up. No need to do complex engine maintenance etc
bro im 13 and my parents just let me to go to teamsport race academy not more
In India there isnt many Karting opportunities and people supporting you
Tires 250$????
Vega?
Buy it in Russia )))
8:02 wait is that Lando?!
Conclusión: mejor cómprate un carro de grande y corre en carreras ilegales
I'm rich but my dad lol
